    Soul food at its best!
decided to stop into this lil gem , with my other half today. (thanks yelp)    the portions for one ate just rediculous!  The counter girl is really nice and will give an extra helping if your nice.

I ordered mac and cheese , candied yams and beef ribs.  My partner had baked chicken , mac and cheese ,and collards.  OMG!  my ribs and her chicken =  FOODGASM!   fall off the bone tender  ,  and juciy! perfectly cooked.  Her collards were not a big hit with us, however after dousing it in hotsauce and a dab of salt it was ok.  They do something weird with the yams where they put pineapples in it  ....( not bad, but not that hot).  mac and cheese was

I Give it 4 stars  only because its tiny and not good for groups, on top of that they have no parking.    besides that it was a wonderful experience, and the only soulfood place around for miles

This place has awesome mac 'n cheese. Most days it's on points but every company has it's "off day."

I went in with a friend of mine on a hot sunny day. Their menu is rather extensive so it took me a while to figure out what I wanted. Thankfully, the guy working there was very patient with me.

I ordered the smothered wings with two sides of mac and cheese. Nothing was bad but noting was great. The potato salad, actually, was pretty good but the smothered chicken wings were kind off and the mac and cheese needed more flavor.

My friend enjoyed her jerk wings, though. The two guys working there were very welcoming so I will definitely go back and try other things.

My co-worker ordered the ***SPINACH DUMPLING*** and it was OFF THE HOOK!  I loved the freshness of the spinach and crunchiness of the thin dumpling skin.  The dumpling was incredibly perfect after dipping in the accompanying sweet sauce!  Mmmmms, it is sure a MUST HAVE when you go into Burgandy's Cafe!

"Burgandy's Cafe. Despite not being a household name, Burgandy's is an amazing restaurant that keeps people coming back time and time again. Their soul food is great, as is their service. Throughout the place, there are pictures of the staff with different artists. It's a cool place that's worth checking out.

The food here is great! However the service is NOT. The people behind the counter are young and very immature. The service is getting worse and worse. I won't be spending my money here anymore. Please hire more mature cashiers/cooks!

In the mood for absolutely amazing soul food Burgandy's Cafe is a MUST TRY! Personally im not a huge soul food fan but this place has me hooked! The jerk wings were delicious, as well as the collard greens, mac & cheese, & the potato salad was superb! Everything was seasoned to perfection and the service was great the guy behind the counter was very helpful. BEST soul food I've had so far in Queens! Delicious, real soul food!  I had the mac n cheese, collards, catfish, jerk chicken wings and smothered chicken breast. The jerk wings were a bit dry, but everything else was amazing. Would eat it again today, but dont feel like trekking all the way there.

The greens are seasoned just right and the corn bread was tasty as well.the mac&cheese was just a little bland but nothing big still was good. very nice staff..now Im off to eat my banana pudding..nice spot and tasty food want to try the catfish next...I'll  go back..

I ordered the jerk chicken breast with mac & cheese, also some jerk wings. the chicken breast was boneless & SO awesomely seasoned. It was extremely spicy too, but in a hearty, flavorful way. Not like sriracha kinda way. It tasted healthy and tender. The mac & cheese was a miss, it was poorly made, not gooey nor creamy. Perhaps I just got a bad batch because I hear it is pretty good. The jerk wings werent as spicy as the chicken breast. Definetly would order the chicken breast again.

Burgandy's cafe I came across heading to work and said well why not. I order a 6 piece half jerk other half fried with sweet yams and mac n cheese. Honestly, the food was ok. I've had better but would try another dinner some other time. And they were a bit cheap on the portion. It's a small but cute spot and seats are available.

I ordered food from this restaurant for delivery as per my man's request.  He said it was good soul food so I decided to try it.  I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted my food, it was delicious.  I wanted fish but they only serve that on Fridays so i followed behind my man and ordered the b-b-q ribs.  They were tender and flavorful.  I also ordered the home made iced tea, it was delicious as well.  I can't wait to order from there again.

I kept hearing about this place in Queens that has the best food in town so my interest was peaked when I found out it was on Hillside! Well, I made my way to the eatery not expecting a whole lot but much to my surprise - Burgandy's Cafe blew me away. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The food is outstanding!! The day I went to the cafe the menu consisted of  lamb chops and I must say...the best lamb chops, mac and cheese and vegetables I have EVER had!! The restaurant was clean and well appointed. What was an ever bigger surprise is that the restaurant is owned and operated by a celebrity on air personality - Coach PR from Sirius' Shade 45. This restaurant is honestly an asset to the neighborhood with great food and great service. If you are in the neighborhood, please treat yourself and stop in for a great dining experience.

My man and I were starving after I picked him up from the train station at 153rd and Hillside.  This happens quite often and we did our usual driving up and down Hillside to find something fast and hopefully good.  This time around we noticed the soul food sign for Burgandy's and quickly did a U-turn.  There wasn't anywhere to park, so I left him in the car while I put in our order.  The place is small but very nice and clean.  I was greeted with friendly faces as soon as I came in.  I then ordered for my husband the southern fried chicken wings with macaroni and cheese and mixed vegetables and for myself fried fish (whiting) with yams and collard greens.  The person that was taking my order brought to my attention the many flavors of wings that you could get, but we stayed with the southern.  When I went to sit down to wait for my order, I noticed they had alot of pictures up of the guy that took my order with a variety of stars.  Mainly artists related to hip hop in some way or another.  I didn't have to wait long and when I took the food from the lady behind the counter, she told me "welcome" since it was my first time and that I would be back again.  Then she said you'll be back tomorrow.  I smiled back at her. The food was delicious!!!!!!!  The yams stood out the most.  Everything was cooked very well.  Eventhough I didn't go back the very next day, I will definitely be back soon.
