I've enjoyed playing at Burbank Tennis Center. Lot's of available courts and they have a cool program with this guy Ardo that sets up a tennis clinic with other average to decent players. It's affordable for how long you get to play and is a nice option to just going and paying to play for an hour. The pro shop people have always been nice to me and helpful.

As someone who played at some of the best venues around and I'm no professional this tennis facility is ill conceived and just wrong. If there was a lockeroom i didn't see it, it must have been tiny, i came ready for my tournament match. Played my first match on "Center  Court" its called and its pretty daunting, the court has lots of space, its the only good court. My second match played on an upper level court adjacent to Center Court that sucked, barely any room on the sides and back, and no one can see you play, only the occasional topspin shot clear the fence, awful. Third match i lost back on Center Court which i hate how everyone is there to watch! The courts in the back are aligned the same way with some courts having more room than others. The young coach guy warming up to play a match with a student , i would have thrashed him, he wasn't so impressive. He was even awed at the fact that I served just as hard as he could, and he was a dude. No i need my coaches to destroy my game so i know I'm learning from them. Also a couple of the staff in the food/snack area were rude and standoffish because our group was a multi-everything mix of city people just chatting away. The only thing that saved this place is the sunshine and it even rained for 15-20 min during the tournament. Won't ever play here again.

    This place is friggin awesome!

I didn't even know there was a tennis facility near my work!

First time-r...they set me up on "Center Court"...damn I'm rusty.  Felt embarrassed with the eyes of 5 years olds looking upon the court.
I checked out their game earlier...man those young kids would kick my arse.
Almost broke my wrist with my torn up racket...I blame the racket.

Been outta the game way too long...

    Positives
    PLENTY of courts
    Very clean facility
Small gym for a quick warm-up workout
    Plenty of parking
You can reserve your spot on a court, so no waiting for them court-hoggin kids you see at public parks!
It's who you know...and I get free access! woot...
Clay courts are available as well...

    Negatives
    Baller status VIPs only
You're going to end up spending hundreds a year just for a membership
I pay $29 a year for my 24 hour fitness membership...I definitely can't afford this!

    Your serve must kick up
    Otherwise it'll come back
    I love to drop shot

When the Racquet Centre in Studio City was torn down in order to build a shopping center, I started playing here. The drop-in doubles were lots of fun. I met lots of nice, new players and re-connected with old ones.

There's showers, lockers, a small fitness area, and a pro shop featuring USTA certified stringers. I don't take tennis too seriously, but that doesn't mean I'm not serious about quality equipment. My last stringer forgot to cross over 3 main strings; sucks.

Also, how can anyone resist showing off on stadium court. And when you're exhausted from grinding out a five-setter, relax and rejuvinate at the Thai cafe.

This is an awesome tennis facility! It is friendly to all different kinds of people! This place has two nice green clay courts and the rest are all hard court. The courts are nicely surfaced and wonderfully clean. the people are all friendly. The ladies at the dinner are amazing and really cute. They have great smoothies and great service. the courts are all well lit for night play. They are a bit expensive if you are not a club member, but I enjoy playing there every single Sunday for my LATA league matches. It is an awesome environment to play at and enjoy some good tennis!

Good place to take lessons.  Clean facilities, pretty well kept.  I saw Andre Agassi play here when he was making a comeback late in his career and I saw Andy Roddick play here when he was just starting on the pro circuit.  The main court is a real nice place to see a pro match.  I used to like the gym but they closed at odd hours depending on how busy they were so it was difficult to keep a regular schedule.  It's been a while since I last visited, but they used to have two clay courts, in addition to about 12 concrete courts which is pretty cool.  It's in a pretty nice family park, but Burbank needs to kick the homeless drunks out on their asses.  The Thai cafe in the tennis center main building is one of the best features.  They have refreshments, snacks, and pretty decent Thai food.  Parking is usually sufficient, until the baseball rednecks show up for the little league games in their monster trucks.
