Burbank, CA
I live about 8 blocks from this library and it has to be one of the best things about living in the neighborhood. And there is a lot of good stuff in this hood!
The library is clean, comfortable and well stocked. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Every time I've needed assistance, it's been offered and pleasant.
I take care of my niece on Thursday afternoons and we go to the children's section and read for hours. The tree in the middle of the room is great to curl up and read under.
I love this place. -

After struggling to find free parking at libraries in Los Angeles, and most libraries being too full or foolishly not having tables near outlets (which makes using a laptop with short battery life very difficult), I found my spot in Burbank.
I come here regularly, not for the books, but for the free WiFi and parking. Based on my observations, 80% of the other patrons do the same.
It is always quiet enough to work on whatever I need to do without distraction. -

This is my favorite place to study. It's quiet on most days and usually occupied with other students. I WISH they would extend their hours to at least 7pm on Saturdays and open earlier than 1pm on Sundays. Those are the best hours to study!
I've noticed that this library attracts some weirdos, so I wouldn't let me kids wonder here, but highly recommended to students. Very clean and organized and next to a nice park, perfect for study breaks :) -

I was here to get my 3rd library card ever since college and it was easy as 1, 2, 3
I can't give a full review since I haven't utilized this library yet but I'll review on what I seen..
The rule no cellphones in the library is upheld, saw several people outside using their phones
Plenty of parking, friendly staff, It's actually a really nice looking library, nothing spectacular but you'll feel comfortable spending a few hours here.
Free Wifi
Free Internet Usage
Business room ( but no fax machine)
and most important.. quiet.
I look forward to coming back frequently. -

I Love this library. I love Burbank even more because of this library. A great place to come with little kids. It has a park adjacent to the library. It has a really cute, separate section for children's books. It feels like you are walking into a literary wonderland. Pick up a list of monthly events. They have mommy and me story time, show films for children, and many different free events for families.

This is easily my favorite library. I can't say enough positive things about this location - it's my happy place! Not only is their selection superb, but their hours are the best. The world would be a better place if all libraries were open late and on weekends. There's nothing quite like biking over to a local library, picking up a new book, and sprawling out on their beautiful park lawn for a half hour.
I also love their selection of books for sale. I try to buy something every time I go to support the library, but honestly some of their 'collectible' old books are worth looking at regardless! I'm almost hesitant to write about this for fear I'll miss out on some good finds if one of you decides to poke around... among items I've picked up were a hundred year old copy of Tennyson, perfect binding, and a mysterious storybook with no title which I couldn't put down. I always pick books by their cover in this pile, and I haven't been let down yet! -

One of the best libraries I've been to since college. The layout is simple, so if you're looking to reenact a scene from Harry Potter within the stacks, this isn't that kind of library.
It's CLEAN! It looks newly renovated so you aren't enveloped in mustiness. The bathrooms are clean also, so have no fear you won't catch any diseases here. Hopefully.
There is a separate Children's area that is its room so the sounds of over active imaginations is quarantined to one area.
I'm not sure about the book selection since I was there to study my own collection of textbooks/articles.
There is a large parking lot so there shouldn't be any problems there.Listed in: Libraries!

Wow! They have books. Tons and tons of books!!
yeah HUH!!
Actually, I like that they have several copies of all the popular books out there. It makes for a happier Cathy.
The librarians are helpful, the atmosphere always calm and quiet. I can just fall asleep in here for hours upon hours.... just like in college. *Oh good ol' days!*
That and the AC blasting in the middle of summer makes for a pleasant, life saving time!!! -

Great library. Lots of parking. Plenty of tables, comfy chairs, quiet, and choices for where to sit. Very well maintained building, with clean bathrooms.
This is my new go to place to study and get some work done. -

Studio City, CA
C'mon!!
The latest novels
The latest DVD rentals
Free wi-fi
couches and a fake fireplace
a cup of cocoa!! (yes, sir, I'll take it outside, err, sorry)
The reason it's such a find is because no one here is smart enough to check out the latest Roth or Saramago so they're mine for the taking. And few people know that the newest rentals are a $1 compared to Blockbusters $3.99 or even netflix, and because no one knows they are always in stock. If you come here enough and you rent the movie "There Will be Blood" you might even find out something cool from the Librarian named David...trust me, it's good. -

Book, Books, Books...It reminds me of home. Seriously, this is a gem of a library, with a wide selection of materials, including inexpensive DVD rentals. The architecture of the building has stuccoed panache; I especially like the carpet in the main lobby.
Parking is plentiful in their attached lot. The staff is not only friendly and helpful, but truly love books - every time I go I have a conversation with someone about a great new read. I'm also a fan of their bookstore. Although I've not explored it, their kids section seems to be quite large and very popular with families. This place has my full support.Listed in: Books Galore

Since my Internet is not working and I needed to print off a few things, I decided to check out my local library. After applying for a library card, which was a very pleasant experience, I was able to jump on the Internet to take care of my business.
I also plan on checking out a few DVDs so my jobless, broke ass can enjoy some cheap entertainment.
Very pleasant library... check it out... hahahahaha... get it??? -

There are three branches of the Burbank Library, but I always go to the one on the corner of Buena Vista and Verdugo. The library looks brand new and is very spacious. Besides the books they have large collections of musical CDs, audio books, VHS tapes, DVDs, and language CDs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are many computers available with speedy Internet service.
I wish I used the library to read tons and tons of books...but I don't. I borrow movies and musical CDs from them. They have brand new movies available for $1 for 3 days and older movies for free. That's a much better deal than Blockbuster!
It seems like a given, but the library is the best bargain for cheap people, like me! -

I visited ALMOST ALL the libraries here in Los Angeles county, and this Buena Vista Branch Library is the best library for me. They have the lates books, latest DVDs, and latest Audio CDs and free internet (Wifi). I heart the Burbank Library long time. Especially this branch. It's still nice and new and I've never had a problem finding a book there. Now to everyone reading this review, forget what I just wrote so I still won't have a problem finding the books I want. Kthanks.

If the Buena Vista branch of the Burbank library system was a man.. it would be the Most Eligible Bachelor in LA. Now THIS is a library. It has everything a perfect man should have:
* Beauty: The architecture here is amazing and the lot itself looks like a park with sculptures, walk-ways, water fountains, and tons of palm trees. It encourages you to take your book selections outside. The interior is also amazing. Everything looks clean and brand new with tons of desks, chairs, couches, workstations for your laptop which include electric plugs at each one, and plush carpeting (literally, your feet sink in)... it's a very attractive library.
* Caring/Comforting Personality: Not only are there a ton of computers to use the free library wi-fi; but there are also chairs to sit on while you wait in line for the next open computer! I haven't yet seen that at a library! Plus, there was no line so I assume it moves rather quickly. There is also a separate room for your business needs including copiers, scanners, etc.
* Good with children: The children's library is AWESOME! I wish I had a library like this when I was a kid! You walk under a fake tree canopy on fake cobblestones to enter this portion of the library. A large tree stands in the middle (I mean a full-on tree!). It also included computers/workstations, a large selection of teen and children's books, cute but sophisticated decor with includes wooden chairs with squirrel cut-outs and plenty of adult supervision. It is nice to have a separate space which kept the library volume to a very low frequency. So cute! It makes me want to kidnap a kid so that I can take him/her to the library!
* Humor/politeness: The staff is quick, kind, efficient and so polite. Tip-top library employees here.
* Most Important: LARGE ASSETS: I don't know what your dirty mind is thinking about but I meant the selection of books. I kid you not that I feel like I have read most of the books at about 5 different libraries. This branch has SOOOOO many books that it will actually take me a long time to read all the ones I want to read. Plus, all the books are in great condition and include a great selection of new and old. It looks like a Borders/Barnes and Noble in here! From fiction to car care, crafts, career books, computers, psychology, suspense... you name it, they have it. Best selection I've seen in years at a library and I've been to a ton in many states. Plus, there is a HUGE selection of New Release DVDs (and let me tell you, they are on top of their game) which costs $1 to rent but older DVDs are free and you can rent them for a week. The periodical section is also very intense and there is a new release book section. For the bi-lingual readers, they have Armenian, Korean, and Spanish books.
Overall, I want to marry this library. Everything in here is above and beyond perfect. If only a man was this great...Listed in: Lusting for Libraries

Nice people and very convenient. They don't have a lot of books I'm looking for, but there are treasures there too. I always find a fun book to read when I'm low at home.

To the creepy guys who inhabit this library: NO, I'm not single. Ever. So don't even think about hitting on me. In a public library. Where I am trying to do work. Or read some magazine. Without someone's creepy eyes on me! I know I'm adorable, thanks. And yes, I am too young for you. So back off, buckos! But other than that this library is very nice with a good selection of books and magazines.

FABULOUS library branch! Huge kids' section, great adult area. Surrounded by a park. Internet access available if you sign up for a card. I did have some trouble with the internet access code- it hadn't been activated and after I waited for the reference librarian she directed me back to the entry desk librarian. By that time my kid was fussing and I had to leave.
Sorry Chris- I'd posted a review of a bad experience at the Northwest branch here. -

I am a big fan of this library. Great A/C (very important on a hot summer's day), large collection of books and DVDs, clean restrooms, well-organized selection of used books on sale (in its own little cubby section by the front entrance), lots of tables, comfy chairs, and electrical sockets for your laptops, and lots of parking space as well. Another plus is that there don't seem to be homeless guys hanging out here like they do at the central library on Glenoaks.

We just moved here about 3 weeks ago and decided to visit the library. We choose the Buena Vista Branch since it was the closest to our home. We didn't have our library cards yet but were helped by a very nice woman, can't remember her name, but she was very helpful and pleasant. Once we had our cards out of the way we looked around and found the library to have a great atmosphere. Plenty of people were there on their laptops or on the library computers. All in all we found some great book to check out and enjoyed our experience.
