The only place I'll ever go for repair. Great shop with unbelievably great people. Just be friendly and they will help you tremendously.  Don't go in upset. Like most things in life, it will get you no where. I saved 80% on what i needed. It turned from an impossible amount to near pocket change.

GOT SHUT DOWN BY STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND THEY STILL HAVE MY CAR!!

My car got towed there for repairs on February 23, thanks to a recommendation from AAA. Since then I have gotten my car promised to be done and it not being done 3 times. Last Wed (3/14/12), when I was told my car would be done, I didn't hear from Justin (the mechanic and manager) so I drove by the shop on my way home. Even though it was 4:30 in the after noon and their hours said they were open until 6pm, the shop was closed.

The next morning I drove by on my way to work and saw the same thing. The shop was closed. A lady walked up looking for them at that time too, saying she had dropped her car off earlier to get work done. I though maybe they were test driving my car after finishing it and would be back, so I waited for about 30 mins. Nothing.

I later got a BLOCKED call from Justin saying that the state had shut down the shop for some reason, but they would be allowed to finish the cars they had in for service. I was told that my car would be done Friday evening and that he would call me back on Friday to let me know when I could pick it up on Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Friday came and went with no call. I have been constantly calling their listed number with no luck. Saturday came and went again with no calls. I went down to the shop and it's hard to tell, since it's inside a heavily window tinted garage, but it looks like my car hasn't been touched in days.

I JUST WANT THE WORK THEY PROMISED TO DO DONE AND MY CAR BACK, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE I MIGHT HAVE TO GET LAW ENFORCEMENT INVOLVED TO GET SOMETHING DONE.

We have a 1997 Honda CR-V and a 2007 Honda CR-V and I wouldn't take them anywhere else to get serviced. Walter is fantastic - he's honest, a great mechanic and really fair when it comes to pricing, too. He'll let you know what needs to be done and when it needs to be done - no pressure to do everything right this minute. If something can wait a few months or longer he'll tell ya. Plus they get top ratings from AAA.

Just a real stand up guy and a really trustworthy place.

These gentlemen are nothing short of  angels!

I just moved into the area and hadn't had time to find a new mechanic but as fate would have it, my car decided to die right in front of Burbank Auto Repair.  I was on my way to two very important appointments and was more than a little panicked.

The first angel/hero I met was Ted, although I didn't know it at the time, he is the owner. I asked him if someone would be able to quickly  look at my car because I knew it was some sort of fluid problem and I thought it would only take a second to check. He was extremely polite and friendly and told me to speak to Frankie.

Enter angel/hero #2. I told Frankie about my situation and he stopped what he was doing and came out and took a look and said that I was out of transmission fluid and without hesitation he got a couple of quarts of transmission fluid and started filling the reservoir. I was thrilled. I'm thinking I might not be too late for my appointments after all. So Frankie finishes pouring in the last of the transmission fluid and then had me put my car through the paces i.e. shift from reverse to neutral to drive to see if it  "caught". And it did. So when I got out of the car I was a happy camper. But as we're standing there my car starts to hemorrhage transmission fluid.
So now I have to leave my car and I'm not going to make my appointments. Waaaah!  Add to that I had no relationship with this shop. I was feeling totally at their mercy. They could have charged me pretty much whatever they wanted because I was stuck! I'm thinking "Well, there goes Christmas."

The next morning Frankie called to tell me what was wrong with my car and how much it was going to be to fix it. Two hoses had been the cause of the hemorrhaging ) You could have knocked me over with a feather! It was less than half of what I was expecting to pay! They called me back later that day and told me the car was ready. I asked him to repeat the total just to make sure I had heard him right. After we're done talking, my phone rang again and it was Ted, the owner. He asked me if I was a member of Triple A and I said yes and he told me to bring my card in because they give a 10% discount with Triple A. Woo-hoo!

When I picked up my car, I'm greeted like an old friend, Ted introduces me to his son, who if he's not there, you can see the many pictures that his proud poppa has lining the side window. He explains all of the charges to me, wishes me a Happy Thanksgiving and sends me on my way.

I know you probably thought that my happy ending was going to end up with me making my appointments but the way I figure it is, that was going to happen and in fact, it did happen. But when you're car breaks down on the road, there are so many ugly ways that it could play out and I was not only spared that but I also have a place to take my car where the people there are polite, friendly, efficient, professional and fair. They are out to earn your trust and your business. Suffice it to say, a good mechanic is hard to find  I feel very fortunate to have found them.

I had an incredibly great experience with these guys.  I was driving back from Yosemite on the I-5 when the main engine drive belt partially tore off the pullies in my Subaru Outback.  I pulled off the freeway and was going nowhere.  AAA recommended BAR and I had to leave my car there overnight since it was a holiday and the shop was closed.  I rented a car a drove back to San Diego and spoke with Frankie the next morning.  He had already looked at my car and in addition to the torn belt the idle bearing had melted.  He had gotten the replacement belt and was looking for the new bearing calling the dealer and other shops to try to find the lowest price.  They had my car all day, checked everything out and had it fixed by the afternoon.  These guys had me, I was in another city and they could have charged almost anything, but they charged next to nothing.  The most expensive part of the service was the parts and they charged maybe an hour's worth of labor, but they spent more time than that.  If I lived in Burbank I would use these guys as my mechanic.
