We recently moved to Lincoln and wanted to try the local Italian restaurant for our "date night." My boyfriend isn't a huge fan of Italian food, but since it was my turn to choose, I selected Buonarroti's. It was relatively busy the night we went but we didn't need a reservation. It did take a little while to get our drink orders but we were in no rush. The owner actually waited on us and he was super friendly and very attentive. Our meal was not rushed at all and we were happy about that.

The food was amazing. I had the tortellini and my boyfriend had the balsamic chicken. We ate every bite. And the bread is AMAZING!! We both had dessert too!

The only minor compliant we had was the atmosphere was not as romantic as we would have liked. We were seated next to some people that talked loudly on the cell phone and we were privy to their conversation about political views and personal opinions. That was kind of annoying. A couple a few tables from us brought their young child who proceeded to jump up and down in his seat the whole time. However, we are looking forward to going back again soon!!

I always heard that there was a good place to eat Italian in Lincoln and I have found it!!  The interior is nice and clean with a romantic look and feel to it.  Great place to take a date...

Hot to the touch fresh bread with butter came out to our table and wow it was gooood.  We ordered the deep fried raviolis and the Insalate Caprese for appetizers.  The raviolis were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside.  The caprese was fresh, light tasting and the  tomatoes and basil were very fresh.  Mac n cheese Milanese was my dinner and wow was it good.  The pasta was so tender it literally melted in my mouth.  Chicken was juicy and the tomatoes added a sweet touch to the dish.

I saw the other reviews about service, but I didnt have any problems.  Our waitress was a little too friendly (kinda like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood friendly) if you know what I mean.  I don't see this restuarant as a place for kids, especially with all the wine glasses on the tables, so be forewarned...more for adults.  Overall service and food was great, definitely coming back here...

This place is a little gem tucked away in downtown Lincoln.

The decor was nice, they had venetian plastered walls, lots of paintings that were actually for sale, so it kind of had an art gallery type feel to it.

I ordered the veal Marsala, it was wonderful, usually when you go to lesser quality Italian restaurants and order a Marsala dish, you can barely taste the wine, not the case here.  The veal was perfectly cooked.  The only thing that could've made it better was if the portion size was bigger, for $22.  But since the quality was so great, I'm not gonna complain.

The service was good when we first got there, but as the meal went on, the waitress became less attentive, otherwise, they would've gotten 5 stars.

If you're looking for Olive Garden style food, this would not be the place for you, their food is definitely more authentic Italian.

Gonna have to come back and try more of their food, and give their service a chance to improve.

Worst Italian no worst restaurant I have the dis-pleasure of eating at 1 and I repeat 1 time. Who would ever go back has absolutly no taste what so ever. Also the people that flagged me are the owners and their friends. I live in Lincoln and I know my restaurants especially Italian and this place sucks and if I get flagged again I will post it on their walls on the building. Absolute highest priced worst food I ever ate. Nice building to go to waste on these people. And anyone who likes their food is obviously drunk before they eat.
Oh and by the way the place is under new ownership about a year ago before that the food and the atmosphere was fantastic!

One word: bread. Seriously excellent, freshly baked bread.

The service and pasta was okay, but nothing special. The bread - very special. Go for the bread, stay for a glass of wine and enjoy a reasonably priced bowl of pasta - they have great deals at lunch.

We tried this Restaurant for the first time,
the food and service was excellant! I had the Pollo Buonarroti which is a  stuffed pork chop, it came w/ scalloped potatoes and fresh carrot's that had a slight sweet taste to them. This was so good and I normally don't like pork that much but it sounded good & I'm glad I tried it.Other people in our party had the chicken piccata and a chefs special of lamb shank in a stew like dish which was very good, the lamb was very tender fell right off the bone.If you go you have to have the tiramisu cake ,it's made by them and such a good rich taste.Their coffee is great as well. Also you can make an online Reservation for dinner and when we got there we were seated right away,no waiting. We have found a great Italian Restaurant to got to now and no longer will we be driving into Roseville. They are so much better than Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill!

The food was great, the atmosphere was excellent but the service was just "OK".  That is just too bad, because they had plenty of staff on hand.

I had the linguini with clam sauce and the dish was great!  Dad had the spaghetti with meatball and was equally impressed.

Kudos to the kitchen!  We'll be back!

If you want to overpay for mediocre food, this is your place. The first time we came last year, we were not impressed. The food is bland and super expensive. A year later and nothing has changed. The place is pretentious, charging way expensive prices for mediocre food. Maybe someone should tell the owner that they need a world class chef to charge world class prices. And in Lincoln? You can maybe get away with overcharging in New York or San Francisco, but in a sleepy retirement community where the majority of residences are retirees or working families, I won't be surprised if this place goes out of business if they continue to do what they do.

My wife and I ate here for a special occasion not long ago. It's probably the fanciest place in town and isn't too expensive either. My veal marsala was tasty as were our fried raviolis. It was a slow day and they ran out of an artichoke dish I was hoping to try. Service wasn't bad on our visit... but the meal did seem to take longer than I'm used to. Maybe that's due to eating too much Chipotle. I'll definitely come again.

We eat here often and the food is always delic! We like to sit at the bar when we go. We enjoy happy hour and 1/2 price appetizers. We often stay for a few hours and tend to close the place down. I highly recommend the pancetta florentine pizze! SOO yummie! The bartender is amazingly friendly and just adds to your time there. While chicken parm is not on the menu, they had no problem making it for us one night when asked! Honestly... that is SERVICE!

If you have not been here, GO... if you have been before.. GO AGAIN! We have made Buonarroti's our new place to go after work as well as on the weekends and we could not be happier!

We decided to dine here for New Years Eve due to the good reviews and they had reservations available. Like all mentioned, the bread and decor are worth finding this place. There was a prix fixe menu that had a good selection... And that's pretty much the end of the good news.

Our party each ordered something different from a waitress who seemed so harried it was like she was going to drop things on our table. Mind you, the restaurant wasn't even half full and it was prime dinner time, and not so late she could possible have been as tired as she kept complaining to be. Yep, she was complaining to anyone who would listen about how busy it was and how tired she was. While that may be true (who knows, maybe a thousand people left right before we got there!) it is unprofessional to complain in front of your customers.

And the food... I had the eggplant Parmesan, one of my favorite dishes. The eggplant was so tough that once I finally was able to saw through it with a steak knife, I could hardly chew it up. My jaw seriously got tired. My friend's chicken was "bland" as she described it, the seafood dish was "nothing to write home about" and the dessert was dried out cake that just didn't befit such an expensive menu.

I want to be understanding and tend to be positive, so I will say- I'm sure they were preparing for a crazy busy night and stuff was prepared ahead of time?? I don't know how that explains the blandness of the food... Oh! And the bus staff were phenomenal! Very attentive and cordial... The bus staff, go figure.

I had an entertainment card so I decided to try this place out, and it was delicious!

    Pros:
-Appetizer stuffed baked brie is to die for! With cranberries, walnuts and honey I thought it sounded like a weird combination, but all the flavors worked really well together.

-Linguine with clams was scrumptious and had a lot of clams in it, no scrimping for sure and the pasta tasted like it was fresh, YUM!

    -Moscato wine...enough said!

-The complimentary bread with the garlic butter was soooo good!

    Cons:
-Service was...ok. Server forgot to bring my wine at first, brought out the wrong entree...at first, forgot to take the entertainment card discount off. She was sweet, but I feel like the owner could have been helping out the servers that were there.

-You can't get Riesling by the glass, only by the bottle...WTF?

Overall, great food and okay service...I'll be back!

This is a really cute place in downtown Lincoln. It was really busy on the night we went, and the service was slow. I wasn't too impressed with my fish because it wasn't cooked completely and I had to send it back (the veggies were really good though)
However, my friend ordered the balsamic chicken which was one of the best chicken dishes I have ever tasted (I am not a huge fan of chicken). It had a great sauce and delicious portabello mushrooms. It was paired with a great risotto.
I'd go back to have the balsamic chicken. It was just too good.

We dine at Buonarroti's frequently - a couple times a month.  This restaurant is an excellent addition to Lincoln.  The food is excellent.  Last night we had spaghetti and meat balls and wow!  A very common and simple food made gourmet.  The meat balls are extra - but worth it.  Previously we had asked for the receipe but were politely declined.  The service was subperb and our busy waitress remained friendly and attentive despite how busy she was.

The only fly in the ointment and the reason that I did not give Buonarroti's 5 stars was because when entered the restaurant we had to wait fully 2-3 minutes for someone other than the waiters (who were busy) to greet us!  Finally when the owner and manager came out of the kitchen, and seemed surprised to see us, there were now three parties and a total of six (6) adults and three (3) children waiting.  This is a recurring theme at Buonarroti's - if they could only manage to meet, greet, and seat their customers in a timely and friendly manner it would be a five (5) star restaurant - after the wait staff takes over it is a very nice place to dine.

I look forward to dining at Buonarroti's again.

My boyfriend even made the long drive from loomis on his lunch break just to get another one of their delicious salads. Friendly service and a full bar too! We are hooked for life!

We have tried to like this place and have visited several times, but it just does not stand up.  The service, like the food is hit and miss.  Generally speaking, the food is OK, but nothing to write home about.  I believe it is the service that bothers us everytime.

We have been lied to by the waitress on occasion (ordered Thursday night Spaghetti which included bread and SALAD, I had the newspaper ad to prove it, but was told by the lazy waitress that it did not include salad).

Our last and probably final visit, the poor waitress (a different one) was trying to service the whole dining room and was actually doing the best she could, but not keeping up while the owner stood around and twiddled her thumbs and paced around frantically as to make it look like she was doing something.  When the food did arrive, the spaghetti was bland tasting.

I like to keep business in Lincoln, but think we will trek down to Rocklin or Roseville on pasta nights.

I took my wife here for Valentine's Day dinner, and in one word, it was disappointing. The food was poor and greatly overpriced, and the service was just as bad. We both ordered one of the special items, a lobster and noodle dish, which came with what was described as a "white wine cream sauce." The sauce was completely tasteless--it cried out for cream and richness. I really hope it is not their standard white sauce. The lobster had little flavor, and the noodles seemed undercooked. The bread was fair (although we did not get the same bread as many other tables), but there was very little, and our request for more was apparently forgotten. I couldn't tell because we didn't see our waitress often enough to ask. The appetizer (which was okay) arrived at the same time as the dinner; the girl carrying the dinner plates had been going from table to table trying to find out who it belonged to. Now I wish she'd brought someone else's dinner to us. The wine list seems long, but has few notable wines, and those are highly priced as well. When you order a glass of wine, it comes in a small decanter. Do you get what you're paying for? If you don't know your wines, who knows? The only good part of the meal was the creme brulee dessert, although the top was burned enough to render it hard to crack, but it did have excellent flavor. On the plus side, everyone there was pleasant and seemed to want to please; they were just horribly inefficient at doing it.

This place actually catered a funeral reception that I went to. I have never had such delicious food at a funeral. I actually forgot where I was and started enjoying myself a little too much, especially since the guy from Buonarroti was so cute. I don't know if he was the owner or the manager, but damn, I should not have been thinking thoughts like that at a funeral. Anyway, the family said that he took care of everything and made the event as stress-free as a funeral can be.

I ate dinner here Sunday night and I was impressed. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was cooked perfectly. It is real easy to over cook calamari but this was nice and tender. They also give you a small loaf of French bread that comes with a container of fresh made garlic butter and a container of Tapenade. Both were pretty tasty. For a main course I ordered the flank steak with Gorgonzola cheese which came on a bed of veggies and escalloped potatoes. The steak was cooked just right and went well with the sides. I even used some of the Tapenade on the steak. My friend ordered the Salmon special which came on a bed of Risotto and veggies. Both meals were excellent.
Parking can be a little tricky at this place. It's in a huge historic brick building that used to be a feed store. Now it has been converted in to a miniature mall complete with restaurants, ice cream parlor and office spaces. They have a small parking area inside the building that only holds about 20 cars so if it's full you will have to either park on the street or in a lot close by and walk. Be careful parking on the street because highway 65 can be pretty busy with through traffic. It's only two lanes wide but there are still a lot of cars traveling through Lincoln. We didn't order any wine this time around but their wine list seemed pretty extensive so next time I plan on ordering a bottle or two. heh. I really liked this place. If you are traveling through or live in or around Lincoln California, definitely stop in and check them out.

Meh. Not really a kid friendly menu and that's saying something since how can Italian food not be kid friendly. The waitress seemed more interested in chatting with us than taking our order. No refill service without asking. My kid hated her spaghetti, and my chicken was bland. I am a fairly new resident to Lincoln and believe in supporting our local economy but 3 out of 3 restaurants have delivered sub standard experiences. I think we will trek to Rocklin or Roseville from now on.

We had Open Table reservation for 3 @ 7:15. We were told it would be a few minutes & to wait in the bar. When nobody had even looked at us for 30 minutes, I went back to hostess desk where there was no one! A woman who looked like the manager said she would seat us in a few minutes when I said we were going to leave. After all the unnecessary waiting, the service was very slow and the food was so-so. The basalmic chicken was good as was the parmagian chicken. I would go back again.
