Great little place. Service was great and my food was amazing.
I got the crispy chicken ranch sandwich... It was one of the best crispy chicken sandwiches I've had. It came on a ciabatta bun... of course with ranch!
I can't wait til my next visit!!

    Interesting place to eat...

Make sure you let them know that you have a Groupon offer prior to ordering. I've usually always presented my Groupon deal after my meals at other dining establishments but this is the first that I was told that "I should've told them that I had a coupon" :(

I had the California Burger - topped with Jack cheese, sautéed mushrooms and sliced avocado. It was delicious but I couldn't finish it.  For an extra .75-cents I had the fries substituted for their clam chowder. The chowder was a hit! Yum! My daughter enjoyed her meal as well. Her kids meal included an ice cream treat for dessert.

Lots of sports memorabilia and displays all around the restaurant. Many televisions set up throughout. I can just imagine this place during a Superbowl or World Series event. The place had different sections and one of the rooms had a huge tree growing through it. I thought that that was cool.  The main section where the bar is had a huge fireplace...

Located near the Roseville Public Library on Taylor Street and has convenient small private lot for parking. Overall, old skool and very casual establishment but makes for an interesting place to hang out and dine.

would give this bacon burger 5 stars if it had a special sauce, but you have to put the ketchup, mustard, mayo, packets on yourself. Although I almost got through my first burger from here and then realized there was no sauce. I think that says alot for there burger. I've not tried anything else or been to there sports bar so I can't comment on that.

This is an old school hangout for most Rosevillians and I have to admit it has been 15+ years since I been there.  I ordered the Ranch burger on recommendations I read from fellow Yelpers.  Let me tell you this,  IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT!  Big, juicy and
totally unhealthy.  Who could ask for more?

Very rude Manager.  I took a groupon (that I paid for) on Superbowl sunday to try the food there.  I wanted to watch superbowl at home, so I was there a few hours before superbowl.  when I paid and presented my groupon, the wouldn't accept it.  The waitress was mean about it and the Manager started yelling so that others could hear her that they don't accept, "coupons" on superbowl sunday".  She said that it was posted everywhere that they don't accept coupons. I told her that this isn't a coupon, I paid for it.  I was very embarrassed for her.  Staff is rude and the food is ok.  Not worth the $30.00 that we paid for a few items.  Very sad that they are so greedy and rude to customers.

While visiting Boise, ID, I ran into a woman who used to live in Rocklin and recommended that I visit Bunz. So, I checked it out as soon as I returned home. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty dead...just a few people watching some games.

My friend and I shared both the Big Cheese Burger and the Ranch Burger. I must say that the Big Cheese is very cheesy and delicious. The Ranch Burger also has a great flavor and the sourdough is a nice toasty touch. The key to the flavor was the fact that the burgers tasted like they were grilled on a BBQ. Most of the burgers here are 1/2 lb. patties, so you'll probably have leftovers.

The same woman that recommended Bunz also said they had great homemade chips. We tried them. They were alright. Nicely salted, but could have been crispier. I also had the cream of mushroom soup since that's one of my favorites and it was delicious. The waitress said that they also have clam chowder everyday, so I'm going to have to return to check that out.

Overall, Bunz is a nice sports bar with good burgers. I plan to return and hope to get a better batch of chips.

Thought I would write and mention their "secret" dinner menu. Bunz usually presents their bar menu with sandwiches, but ask for their dinner menu at dinner time. My favorite is the mushroom New York steak, grilled with mushrooms, onions, cheese and worcestershire sauce. Other favorites are the CA chicken and prime rib, when available. Dinners are served with soup or salad, Texas toast and a baked potato or veggies. Be sure to start your meal off with a big Bloody Mary, garnished with shrimp, green olives and pepperoncini peppers. Oh, and the service is great too!

Oh SWEET Bunz... and Company!! I must admit, you guys are pretty awesome! I had doubts at first.... and WOW, you completely proved my doubts wrong.

I was immediately greeted at the door... nice! Offered to sit wherever I'd like.. which I choose to sit next to the tree that towers through the ceiling and out the roof; pretty cool! Which turned out to be a great choice since there was a nice size TV right in front of me so I could catch some football!

So I tell the waiter... "I would like to order whatever you recommend as the most popular dish on the menu" and he gladly mentioned the 'Cheese and bacon burger'. So that it was!!! Good recommendation too by the way. Big sized burger, juicy, thick bacon, and with all the fixings. I also ordered some clam chowder and so glad that I did. The chowder was creamy with just the right amount of potatoes vs. clams. The soup reminded me of a chowder I could get in Monterrey Bay or San Francisco. Lovvvvvved it!

The service was GREAT too! They totally made sure we had whatever we needed and were very friendly. They even offered the kids ice cream or sugar free popcycles before we left. Nice!

    This place gets a 3.

It is tough, because the food was good, and the atmosphere was great (there is a tree in the middle of the room), but it isn't a place I really plan on going back to.

Now, if I wanted to go to a bar, have a burger, watch some sports, and relax... This is the place. This is EXACTLY that place.

Lots of fun sports memorobilia adorns the walls and if you are a 49er fan head up to the second floor and you will see some classic 49er photos from as far back as the 50's. The service is outstanding. We were a group of 6 and were well taken care of. The server recommended the special of the day, a "California Roast Beef Sandwich". Tons of beef with green chiles and pepperjack with horseradish on Toasted Rye. Delicious.

    Now thats a burger!!!!

Mushrooms and blue cheese stuffed inside the beef , then its topped with 3 cheeses, do yourself a favor and add bacon to it, and have them throw it on the sourdough! MMMMMMMMM GOOOODDDD!

I'm still waiting to have a better burger than the big cheese burger at Bunz!

On a side note, they have a full bar, plenty of tv's for sports games, and there other food is pretty tasty too!

Stopped in here on my last visit to Sac and I knew I would love the place the second I saw it. It looks like an old converted house in a normal residential neighborhood with a little parking lot and beer signs in the windows. It looked like you had to be 'in the know' to eat here. Oh yes, this is my type of place.

Inside is a mishmash of football paraphernalia. Some 9ers, some Raiders, some Patriots (wait, what?). Not sure if this is a hangout for any one teams fans or not. A big bar and a wide seating area greet you when you walk in, complete with tons of TVs for catching up on as many sporting events as humanly possible.

We stopped in for lunch and I went for the Philly Sammie and a beer (or three). My brother got a burg, and we split them. Suffice to say, the food here is fantastic. REMEMBER! One of your party HAS to get the homemade potato chips. Best chips ive had.

I also have to note that inside the place, a HUGE old oak tree is growing THROUGH the dining room and up into the sun. Its all levels of kickass.

Generally, the place kinda has a back east feel. Its not super bright and next to nothing is new, but sometimes thats what I WANT in a restaurant. I wouldnt hesitate to catch a game here, and I DEF wouldnt hesitate to grab lunch here. Ill be back.

This is one of the most unique and "Cheers like" places in the Roseville area. Everybody knows your name here. They offer some simple yet tasty food with good prices and they are very friendly. It is truley the "fmaily bar".  The location is awesome. Tucked away in a neighborhood, it reminds me of a ski lodge. Tons of unique sports memorabilia hang on the walls.  They are also a huge supporter of local sports teams.

I really want to give this place a 5 but it needs a couple updates before that can happen. They need to get some HD flat screen TVs.  I want to watch the game here every weekend but I am tired on having to view a small TV at the bar or one of the other non-HD TVs.  At least a few flat-screens should be standard for a sports bar in 2010 especially when every other place in the area has them.  If this happens I will be there every weekend.
The only other complaint is it could use some more beers on tap. It has an okay selection (6 or so) but you can never have too many.

Bottom line: I will still keep coming to this place but will find it irresistible if they do a few updates.

    Classic sports bar!

It has been around for 25 years, so it has lots of character.  The lunch was very tasty with a great grilled turkey, bacon, and cheddar sandwich and homemade potato chips.  It has good bar food.

It's not a fancy schmancy sports bar, but it has lots of nostalgia.  Go Niners!

Ok, well, now I've tried Bunz and Company three times.

It seems that the 2nd run was just a "bad day" for the waitress and chef....so I'll happily ignore that one.

Had the Chili Cheese Omelette today with hash browns and sourdough toast.  WOW it was GOOD!  Some OJ to wash it down.

Just a note, unlike their sodas, juice refills are not unlimited.  Just remember that.  Should have just gotten the big OJ, but that's MY fault.  ;)

Why only 4 stars?  My team lost and I wasn't in a 5 star mood.  ;)  It was a 5 star effort/execution today.

This is what a classic sports bar/tavern should look like.

Gee I haven't been here in years.  Though while strolling Tuesday Nites Roseville with friends and visitors, I thought it would be a good place for a burger and brew.  And it was.

Place seems aging, like the old home it is in, but it has a comfortable feel to it.  Classic bar room eatery, while also kid friendly.  Rather dark inside, and filled with aging TV's (with sports programming, of course) that were real popular in the mid 80's.

The burgers were all very good.  Came with all the trimmmings and big crispy steak fries (though there are other cloices, too).  Everyone was satisfied with their meal.

Service was very slow, but it was comfortable to approach the sole bartender/waiter when we were ready to order and when we were ready for a check.  It was all so laid back that it didn't seem to bother anyone in our party or the staff.  I'm sure the good beer selection on draft didn't hurt either.

Giving them 4 stars, but really feel like 3.5.

After hearing about this place from fellow Yelpers we decided to give it a try.

When we walked in and sat ourselves we were promptly greeted by the friendly staff. Our drink order was taken and before I knew it there was a frosty adult beverage in front of me.

Shortly after wards we placed out food order. The menu is typical bar food- burgers, chicken sandwiches, various appetizers, the few obligatory salads. I chose the San Francisco Burger (1/2 pound patty, guac, jack cheese on grilled parmesan sourdough bread. I added bacon because everything's better when accompanied by tasty salted pork. My other half ordered the Halibut Fish & Chips.

Most entrees are offered with a choice of soup, salad, thick cut steak fries or homemade potato chips.

Our food arrived after a quick-to-reasonable amount of time. It looked delicious.

    And it was.

The burger was cooked to a perfect medium as I requested. The batter on the fish and chips had a wonderful fluffy texture inside and a perfect crisp outside. The fish was cooked excellently- tender, flaky and moist. The homemade potato chips were just thick enough to have a bite to them but still be crispy. The coleslaw was a little bland but I can easily overlook that based on how good everything else was.

A couple of times during the meal the bus boys who were clearing nearby tables asked how we were doing and if we liked the food. This is *unheard* of. I've worked in the food service industry for almost 10 years and generally speaking, bussers don't talk to anybody. I thought that it was a nice touch. You can tell that the staff genuinely cares about the customer.

It appears that the place was once a large house then transformed into a sports bar. It is cozy, dimly lit and packed with sports memorabilia. But not so much that it felt stuffy or overdone (I'm not a big sports fan and felt perfectly comfortable).

All in all we had an awesome experience and will most definitely return. There was a board in the lobby area listing some fantastic happy hour specials (3-6 pm). I can't wait to check those out!

    P.S. Cost of our visit?-
    2 entrees with all the extras, 1 beer, 1 soft drink= $31
    Not bad!

My coworker and I stopped in for lunch. We sat in the bar and there were a couple people in there. They definitely were not busy. 30 minutes after ordering we still had no food. We asked how much longer and they say a few more minutes so we ask for our food to go. 10 minutes later they are serving other patrons who came in AFTER us their food. Needless to say we just walked out.

Bunz & Company has it all: good food, attentive service, TVs throughout to watch sports, and a neighborhood atmosphere. A French Dip sandwich was stuffed with exquisitely tender and flavorful beef and topped with melted cheese. Thick-cut fries were crisp and tasty. Their ice tea is "real" without any of those artificial fruity flavors. Just beware and ask for dressing on the side, if you don't like your salad drowned in dressing.

Staff made us feel welcome from the moment we entered.  Plenty of wine, beer, and food choices to satisfy anyone.

Went after my son's baseball game.  Friday night at 6:00 the restaurant portion was empty, but the bar was full.  We ate in the restaurant.  The hamburgers and fish and chips were excellent, best ever.  the service was great with my family asking for extra ranch sauce and drinking a ton of refills.  The owner came by and gave us some abalone that a customer brought in to have cooked.  I have always wanted to try abalone, so it was a great treat.  The atmosphere was filled with sports memorabilia, but the place could use some updating.  In essence, excellent food at reasonable prices in a dining room that needed updating.

Not sure why this place is called " bunz and co", since it  doesn't seem to speacialize in "bunz" of any sort.  This place is a cute neighborhood bar. From the outside it looks like an old two story house, but  inside the decor will immediately remind you of  the "Cheers" bar from the tv show of the same name.   Last night was the first time I've visited, and it was super crowded with  people celebrating for st pattys day with part of a pub crawl.  It was an interesting crowd of people, most people were dressed pretty laid back , just enjoying drinks and convo.. really loud!  Now we went there specifically for food.    Mostly burger and sandwiches on the menu.  The burgers are huge!  I ordered a  burger on sourdough with guac and  with onion rings.  The burger was very tasty and huge!  the onion rings were also good, but i wish they served more onion rings with the order, i though it was a bit sparse on my plate.  my dinner companions were also happy with their orders and we left with full bellies.  Decent price for food about 10$ per burger.   This place seems more  bar focused than resturant, but the food was actually quite satisfying. The service was also good.  The have a small parking lot and plenty of street parking as well.

So I got myself that huge entertainment coupon book yet again this year and decided to start trying some new places to grub. Hubby and I found ourselves in Roseville yet again for the JBF sale and I was starvin like Marvin for some burgers, so I pulled out the entertainment book and found this place with a bogo coupon and since it was right around the way we figured what the heck...I liked the laid back atmospere alot, very comfortable and cozy like you came to your friends house to eat some awesome food...yeah the food omg so we started out with some onion rings-AMAZING! Yeah Im big on the onion ring so when you F it up I get kinda pissed....oh and FYI if you do want an appetizer I recommend you have 3 or more people sharing one because they are huge! We had a bucket/basket of rings brought to the table but I couldnt stop eating them they were that amazing! Ok ok so I had the san francisco burger with jack cheese and guac on toasted parm sourdough bread, and it was again AMAZING! Loved loved loved the fact they didnt burn the damn bread I swear to god it was perfectly toasted!  The burger was amazing tasty and juicy and I got a S-load of steak fries that were hot and again AMAZING! Hubby got the philly and fries and he was very happy with his sandwich because at that point he stopped talking to me and began a love affair with his sandwich....here is the bottom line for me-I will go back even if I dont have a coupon..nuff said....

This is a charming place.  You have the choice of a bar-setting or a small restaurant area (if it isn't closed due to staffing).  The food is great and the service is adequate.  It is certainly a nice change from some of the large chain bar and grill places.
