If you are "married with children" and living in the burbs, you know what Bunco is. For the rest of you, it is an easy dice game played by a group of at least 8 people, usually women. Most Bunco groups consist of 12 suburban women, so that a different woman can host each month. In our group, we snack and socialize for the first hour, then get down to playing. We each put $10 in the pot, and 5 people get prizes at the end, ranging from getting your ten bucks back for "most losses" to winning 50 bucks for "most buncos".
The game is all about luck, no skill, which makes it easy to keep the conversation going while rolling the dice. The real fun of bunco is seeing which desperate housewife will drink a little too much Cabernet and embarrass herself by sharing the intimate details of her sex life or lack thereof.
