Good spot to watch a game, have a few drinks, and enjoy some bar food with friends.
1st of all, I've been to BWW in Windsor, CT and it's like night & day. Even though I prefer the layout in Windsor, this spot has a better atmosphere and better WINGS. Not sure why BWW's have access to different distributors, but the wings here are a decent size and are pretty good. -
Review from Jacob J.

The stars are for this specific BWW in New Haven. The food gets a much higher rating.
I love BWW and the food here is no different: 4 out of 5 times the wings are great, and then that one random time, the wings are underflavored and over-fried with little meat. We usually do take-out, and this particular BWW gets our order wrong at least a third of the time. Staff ranges from nice and helpful to rude. The first time they got our order wrong, it was clear the person was not paying attention to our order, and the manager explained that the person was overwhelmed due to being the only person working the phones. Really? One person there? This place always seems at least moderately busy at the least, and they put one person on during a night with their wing deals? Not sure about that.
But the wings... when they're good, they're good. Addicting. -

This place has very good variety of sauces for wings and they used to have a Thursday special with maybe 2 wings for a dollar.

To be perfectly honest, I was not impressed. There is nothing terribly wrong with it, but there is nothing that makes it stand out either.

Best place I've found so far to watch sports. Good service. Food that's exactly what you'd expect. And had the sound on for the Stanford game -- that was a pleasant surprise for a downtown New Haven bar!
Asher convinced me to try the hottest of the 30 or so sauces they carry. The chemical burn had healed within 2 days. -

not a huge fan of BW3, but have to give this location props. Went in for lunch and the food was hot and fresh and flavorful. Service was good as well.

Review from Jeff H.
A group of us were attending a conference in New Haven over the weekend, and were looking to get a quick bite to eat close to our hotel since it was pouring rain. BWW was the closest and I figured it would be cheap and have a decent beer/bar selection.
The menu offers mostly varieties on chicken with some burgers and sandwiches. We ended up ordering 100 wings to split and some orders of fries and onion rings. I understood that this would take quite some time to prepare, however, our waitress just walked away and sat down at the bar the entire time we were waiting. Every time we needed another beer or water refill, someone would have to try to catch her attention or flag someone else down.
When the food finally came out of the kitchen, the cooks only made 90 wings, and two of the sauces were wrong. It was late, we were hungry, and we really did not mind. It was already a lot of food. They insisted on bringing out the correct items, and so ultimately we ended up with more than we bargained for. 130 wings. The sauces were somewhat creative, but the boneless wings were dry and not very meaty. The regular wings were cooked nicely with a slightly crispy outside and juicy inside. Needless to say, many to go boxes were used.
Beer selection was pretty good and they offer many local selections.

My friends and I usually hit up Buffalo Wild Wings to catch UFC fights since there's no cover like there is at Black Bear. If you can get there earlier in the evening, the place won't be super crowded. But, if you're trying to rush in right before the title fight, you might find the place super crowded. We're talking rush hour commute packed into a subway car-crowded. That being said, the wait staff are super nice and attentive and try to make sure everyone is having a good time / getting served.
I also hear that BWW has some all you can eat wings and fries night so... I'll definitely have to hit those up to see if I can make the arteries in my brain explode before I go to do cancer research in NYC. Wait? ;) -

The customer service is extremely terrible. The waiter frequently ignored what we asked. It even took half an hour for my check, and the check came wrong. Took much longer to ask the check corrected.
Don't go to this place if you don't want to experience the awful service. -
Review from Hans M.
New Haven, CT
This post on Buffalo Wild Wings has been written from the moment that the dreamer wipes the dew from his eyes. When he starts to separate the actual events of his life from the sleeping fantasies. We have added nothing, no characters, no details, that were not actually part of our experience at Buffalo Wild Wings: For even the most gifted writer of lies could not make this up.
Hans and Mendez recently made a bet with a friend. The details are too meticulous to get into, but they are both puzzled how a pound of feathers can weigh the same as a pound of gold. Their victorious chum struck a match against Mendez's ear. His serpentine eyes glimmered. "Hans and Mendez, my dearest bros, the stakes were high but it looks like I won't be sucking an egg through a garden hose. However you two must concede to my whim and we shall dine at... Buffalo Wild Wings."
Buffalo Wild Wings is a chain restaurant full of neon characteristics. You'd typically find one at the shopping mall right next to a variation of the Sunglasses Hut. New Haven's offering of good restaruants makes the inclusion of Buffalo Wild Wings draw many questions, mostly why? It's difficult to walk by the restaurant without getting a headache from all the televisions. Hans had difficulty processing the fact Buffalo Wild Wings is not a Best Buy, "People eat here?" he asked. The trio proceeded to a table to be greeted by a friendly server. She recited the Margarita specials, specially noting the more masculine of the set having amareto in it. If amareto is masculine, consider Hans Bette Davis.
The lighting is key at Buffalo Wild Wings as they need to be dim enough to let the televisions shine like diamonds. Its like sitting in a Budweiser commercial from the 90's where all you can see is product placement lights. This allows everything else in the restaurant to appear in an affected shade. Who knows what the glistening chicken legs really looked like, all we know is that they require a lot of napkins and act of penance to get through.
The bloggers and their friend ordered a bunch of chicken wings whose flavor combinations resemble those of Doritos. Garlic Blue Cheese Ranch wings taste no different from Sweet Butter Pecan Cough Drop Wings in the end, and with that lighting its difficult to differentiate what you're picking up. Hans ordered a bacon cheddar burger, the taste of which can be defined as burnt and ordinary. Don't bother to look for any taste of freshness. The french fries served are frozen Brand X with a snow white coloring. Hans thought of making another bet, to turn on his black light, but the rest of the table declined for fear of how much grease the table really soaks up.
The Wings used to be 38 cents, according to our "friend," but their 50 cent price is appealing to the hungry. Mendez suspects the price increased out of fear of being a cheap alternative to Domino's.
The waitress is the only sign of humanity in Buffalo Wild Wings, as she expressed some form of personality. The bartender is a former school bully who made Mendez squak like a chicken for the amusement of substitute teachers. The manager, a high school senior, patiently waited for his parents to honk the car horn. All these people toil at this Lazer Tag environment for hours and hours while mid 90's hits shatter the ear drum. Hans and Mendez thought of saving the waitress, lifting her on their shoulders and treating her to a night on the town, but she has to make a living somehow.
Buffalo Wild Wings is the worst of America miniaturized. It sits like a mosquito light on Church Street across from an abandoned storefront. We're going to petition for a health food store. If Americans are viewed as obnoxious and obese and wasteful, Buffalo Wild Wings is one of those reasons. Who knows how much sugar and fat goes into a meal at this place? The margaritas look diabetes inducing. The tomato and onion on the burger don't make up any fraction for fruit and veggie daily intake; we recommend serious exercise before and after eating here.
By exercise we don't mean to take advantage of Buffalo Wild Wing's punching bag contest, wich is offered along with free pay-per-view when UFC matches are broadcast. The menus are notable for being lined with gimmicks applying to random hours. One special being a 12 minute service guarantee during lunch. It goes without saying, you're not taking a date here. If you are a regular, it goes with out saying, that you can not get a date.
Beer, booze and wings is a common business model, but Buffalo Wild Wings gets it all wrong. You're getting the worst quality in everything. Mendez lacks a mean bone in his body, as opposed to Hans Wolverine-esque adamantium frame of snark, but he recommends bringing Tequilla to McDonalds if all you're after is booze and junk food.
Food fiction is a tough racket. There may not be such things as Frankenstein's, Chupacabra's, or Tikbalang's. There is, however, Buffalo Wild Wings. The horror, the horror. -

And you may ask yourself
Why am I eating this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is my freaking server?
And you may tell yourself
These are not great buffalo wings!
And you may tell yourself
This is not great buffalo sauce!
Letting the days go by/let the B-Dubs hold me down
Letting the days go by/service lacking all around
Into the blue again/after the frosty beer's all gone
Once in a lifetime/a decent meal can be found
Same as it ever was.

Went here on a Saturday night to get some wings with friends. Usually we only go here on Thursday nights for the 50 cent wing deal but we were craving some good wings and decided this was the place to go. I really like the fact that they have the bar trivia game to play before your food gets there to keep you occupied and also that you compete against people all across America.
I usually always order wings but I wanted to try something different so I ordered the honey bbq salad which was really good. The dressing was on the side, which was perfect because there was already a decent amount of bbq sauce so I didn't use much of it.
Our waiter/bartender was okay. He kept our drinks full for the most part but failed to mention that on the weekends they have all you can eat wings for $9.99. I mean wow two people in our group ordered wings and ended up paying $12 a piece and he failed to mention the deal they had going on. That was a bit annoying. However, I love the food and the atmosphere here so besides the careless bartender I really like this place.
P dot S dot: I suggest the parmesan garlic sauce for wings it is the best in my opinion. -

I acknowledge I am NOT the target audience for a hot wings joint. I don't like to fight with wing bones and cartilage to get a small bite of chicken meat and skin coated in taste-smothering hot sauce. Also, I can take or leave most televised sports (and the walls of this place are covered in flat screen.)
But I DO like a good burger, and that is what I decided to have here. And the burger was very good. Juicy, flavorful -- and the honey bbq sauce, bacon and cheese really added to the flavor of my burger. Round it off with lettuce, tomato and the chipotle buffalo chips as a side and I was a happy camper, mealwise. Also, the cold Sam Adams in a very cool Sam Adams glass was welcome after a long day at the mines.
So, why not a 4 or 5? The service. Lackluster and slow. And there was no blaming the service on the crowd, as there was none. Only about 6-7 tables were occupied on this cold, blustery New England night.
No flatware on the table. No napkins. Waitress slow to bring the bill, then never came back to pick up the credit card for payment. (We had to take it to the bar to get it rung up. Waitress seemed more interested in chatting with the guys sitting at the bar than waiting on her tables.)
But, one of the screens I was facing showed highlights of a soccer game between HSV and St. Pauli in Hamburg, Germany -- and another had an in-depth story on Tim Tebow -- with lots of well-filmed footage. Neither was bad viewing while I finished my meal. So, a grudgingly-awarded 3 stars. -

The food was decent. I've had better though. We had the Chili Fries as an appetizer and then I had a Caesar Chicken Wrap -- it was very salty and I have no idea why it should be salty at all.
The servers here were attentive and the manager did check up on us. The bar area is nice with plenty of HDTVs. There's also a bar. -

Buffalo Wild Wings...AKA B-DUBS! or BW3's lol
can't say enough of this place great food great service for the most part and the price is great! Sometimes at this place is a little slow but that is really just at this spot due to the poor management I'm sure
But B-Dubs as a whole is a great place but the one in New haven is learning it is a pretty new spot!
if any one is up for going there and doesn't have any one to go with....send me a msg!!!!! I'm there -

So, B-Dubs.... I really tried to dislike you. I even visited all three in CT to find things that I didn't like but you were pretty consistent on all accounts. The ambiance is typical and exactly what I'd expect of this chain sports bar/wing establishment. There are TV's everywhere and I'm in complete agreement with Ryan C when he says that the TV's in NH aren't formatted correctly, they're not. Please fix this.
Now let's get down to where it counts, the food. The entrees absolutely suck. I stay clear at all costs. I have learned that something will either be wrong with what I've ordered or it's just disgusting and inedible. Let's face it, if you're coming to this type of establishment, it's to have fun with friends and watch a game, therefore you do not need a meal. You should order apps, wings and alcohol. B-Dubs can handle this and execute it well. The wings with endless options of sauces can't be beat. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to my wings, I like buffalo and I like them spicy. I've heard that the other sauces are tasty. The appetizers are okay, it's typical bar food. Nachos, quesadilla, etc.
They have a pretty awesome beer selection: draught and bottle. Shock Top, Sam Seasonals, Newcastle, Stella, Peroni (bottle), etc. You just can't go wrong.
Overall, I've had fun when I've gone. I don't mind when friends want to go watch a game there. I'm sure I'll be back... but I won't be the one to suggest it.... -

Over priced chain store. Our salads were sad and expensive. We asked for our dressing on the side and charged extra for dressing. Last time I checked, salads come with dressing. Honey wings were small and just edible. I could have gotten the same quality from a bag of frozen wings and an oven at home.
Lots of T.V's on the walls. guess this could be a good place for the guys to come catch a game or something. -

The honey wings were good. Crispy and flavorful. But the salads were a rip-off. I'd expect salad to come with dressing?! Noooo, not here. The salad prices are listed without dressing and you good to choose your choice of dressing for at an additional cost.
The salad ended up being small, and unfresh anyways. I'll stay away from their salads next time and just stick with the wings. -

As with many chains, your experience at Buffalo Wild Wings will be fairly consistent in most restaurants. I've been to three BWW's now and I have found the service to be friendly and quick, taking a starting drink order and keeping them filled. Note: there's a larger beer selection than in the menu, just ask! There's also a 'manager check-up' about 5 minutes after the food comes out, but that may be a bit too quick before the meal has really sunk in...
I like the concept of BWW, with a variety of flavors with a gradient heat, and a good sports atmosphere with a ton of TV's and feeds, but there are a few things that need fixing:
1. There's a huge amount of TV's pretty well located throughout the restaurant, with good viewing angles, but the selection of what is on which screen is puzzling...maybe local and or manager preferences, ok...
2. But it's inexcusable with so many widescreen HD TV's and projectors that BWW is using standard feeds in 4:3 format! Come on BDub, you can fix this today, just open the manuals! The gray bars are distracting.
3. Not just TV's, BWW is a restaurant too...the wings are good, as are the boneless 'wings' (call em chicken breast strips to be more accurate), but the other fare isn't appealing or very good. The fries, for instance, will be stale before you finish your wings.
4. The sauce's are good, if you know the one you like...but you're going to need to take the leap of faith that you'll like it as their no option for a couple flavors on the side that I know of. FYI, if you order a 12 pc, the last four are likely to be untouched by the sauce.
A better layout than Milford, I think NH is still working out some bugs from opening. So it may have potential for a higher score, but right now, it's three stars. -

My friends and I used to go here regularly on Tuesdays for 40 cent wings (I believe now they're 50 cents). The food is decent for the price and you get many options for the sauce for the wings, ranging from mild to wild (just don't get those two confused!) plus there are many other options on the menu if you don't like wings. The food tends to be better if the place is less crowded, and the service is very mixed. We had a bad experience tonight, so I don't think I can give them more than 2 stars now. Unfortunately, it was bad timing, and we arrived just as a game was starting (and this is a very popular place to go to watch games). It took our waiter, Junior, a very long time to get around to us and take our order, so we said we were ready to place our food order as well as our drink order at that time. I ordered regular tap water and had to wait about 40 minutes for that, and the only reason why I got it was because I complained to a different server who brought it out for me. My other friends were not as smart and ordered beer, so you can imagine how long it took for them to get their drinks. The woman who brought me my water said that no one knows how long the food will take because they are so busy right now. We figured that it must be because of the 6 free wings coupons that each of us brought that were expiring the next day. I had to physically get up and tell the other people working there that if we didn't get our food soon, we would have to leave the restaurant. Even my phone battery didn't last long enough for our food to come out, so I'm not sure exactly how long it took, but it was around an hour and half from the time we got to BWW. Our food was ok, not great, but we were so happy that it finally came out. We asked for the bill to be split (never a problem here) and our server brought it out for us. We were told that the coupons we had were fake, and they added automatic gratuity since it was 7 of us. The server split the bill for us but couldn't split the tax (which was $5.40), so I asked if he could split that among us. He said, so it will be $1.88 each? ........ I tried to explain to him that $5.40 divided by 7 was not $1.88, but I wasn't sure if he was convinced. Then he went away and took a very long time to figure all of this out. He came back, and each of us signed our bills, not knowing how he ended up splitting the tax. One person said he was pretty sure he overpaid. I only drank water, so it's cheap enough that I couldn't really tell if I was overpaying or not. Another friend considered subtracting from the automatic gratuity but decided against it. Even if they are busy, I expect the server to make a little effort or at the very least, be apologetic and explain that it's his first day (even if it's not).

Last night I went to the Buffalo Wild Wing's in New Haven for the first time with my boyfriend and a few friends and we all really liked it. There was no wait at all, but expect to waste at least 20 min. trying to find parking! All the Yaleies were being dropped off so traffic was also a pain. Once we got in, the service was pretty good. We sat at the bar so we had all the games going and the guys loved that! Apparently, every weekend they have an all you can eat wing special for $9.99, which was what we all got. You get a dozen of wings and a side of fries for your first order and you can choose any two sauces. (FYI your first container of Blue Cheese or Ranch is free after that you have to pay). After that you can only get a half dozen at a time with one sauce, and no fries. I loved that not all of the flavors were spicy! (ie. Teryaki, Parmesan Garlic, Honey BBQ) And wile they have you wait in between orders there is a bar trivia game that you can play which was really entertaining because everything else on the huge projectors were sports games.
I would def. go back for their wing deals. It's def. a great place to go in groups of friends, and once you find parking you can walk to the nearby bars/clubs. -

$9.99 all you can eat wings during NFL reg. reason is one of the reasons why I come here.
Great place to watch sports here. Great beer selections and the service is pretty friendly.
Not an ideal place for a Chargers fan though. Learned that the hard way during our embarrassing lost to the Jets last season during playoffs. But hey you're sorta in Jets territory in New Haven, so I guess I have to silence my San Diego-ness. -

I've been to Buffalo Wild Wing chains before and this one wouldn't have passed the test if I hadn't asked for my wings to be dunked into more sauce. We ordered the Garlic Parmesan, Habanero Mango, and Spicy Garlic wings and when they arrived they hardly had any sauce or flavor. I guess I would've been okay with it and chalked it up to flavorless product from a crappy establishment but I knew better from past experience. We asked the manager to have them dunked wholeheartedly and he brought them back just right. Now THAT'S what I'm used to from this chain.

Ok, I really was a sucker and when I saw those funny commercials, it drew me in and I really had to go try this place.
First mistake- going to the one in New Haven. Was there for 2 hours and paid $15 for parking. Ridiculous- go to the one in South Windsor and Milford where I am sure parking is free or much less.
I enjoyed the whole experience tho. Our waiter was entertaining, very nice, and prompt. He was funny and liked conversation. We ended up tipping him well because he'd go over the top to do things to make our time enjoyable.
The food was bar food and overly priced. Their menu was basic- either wings, ribs, or shrimp for meal, and had an array of salads and sandwiches... no steaks or full meals on menu.
There were 4 of us- we ordered 2 appetizers, 24 wings, popcorn shrimp, and potato wedges. Beer was priced the same as else where, and the margaritas were amazing! We got mozz sticks and nachos for appetizers. The mozz sticks were good, and the nachos ok. I liked them because they put lettuce and tomatoes on it, which normal places do not do... but they were miniscule on the cheese :/ we pay how much for nachos and you don't get many of them either. The wings were really good, with 24 we got to choose of to 4 flavors- we had honey bbq, teriyaki, and hot. The hot was not hot, Sliders wings were hotter... the honey bbq was good and had some kick, and the teriyaki was tasty. The only problem is when they say 24 wings, I expect wings, not niblet sized popcorn chicken lol. But they tasted realllllly good anyways. The popcorn chicken was the best thing we had... a huge plate of them, they had some kick to it too. Excellent shrimp, I'd order that again. The potato wedges were covered in cheese, again not a lot of cheese. Those things had kick to it too! They were ok, I would not order them again, I prefer regular fries lol.
So over all the experience was good, I was just expecting a little more than mediocre bar food and niblet sized wings. I liked the atmosphere, a lot of tv's... bill was 100.06 for 4 people w/o tip.
Would I go again? Not to this one unless we park for free or cheaper, but there is no where else around to park :/ -

Ugh! I used to like BW3. Thanks to this one, I can never enjoy them again. We ordered many flavors: smokey southwest, spicy garlic, Asian zing, honey barbeque. The wings were rather puny, but the real problem is that one was rotten. When we summoned the manager, he said that one in every 500 wings ends up being rotten. He didn't offer even to take the rotten order off our bill. I certainly don't want to take my chances on winning the rotten wing lottery again, so I'm going to avoid Buffalo Wild Wings altogether.

I dropped by here during a karaoke event in which people were singing different Michael Jackson songs...not too long after the King of Pop died. Unfortunately I can't give it a review based on how much fun I had at that (that would be five stars) but still, this is a nice, well kept, glossy venue for having drinks or food and watching sports. Nice alternative to Black Bear.

So, I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with a large group last night and unfortunately it just wasn't as good as usual. The wait for a table for a good amount of people I can deal with, but everyone in my party complained that there was barely any sauce on the wings. I'm not sure if they were on low stock or what the deal was. On top of the lack of sauce, the wings were also scrawny; much smaller than normal. The Management also refused to give us seperate checks. So, at least the guest sub-total for each person would be correct, right? Wrong. All the drinks were mixed up among the Guest Sub-totals. In other words, Kids Under 21 were being citied with the correct food but 5 beers. This experience was disappointing, as I was telling everyone how good BWW was before we stopped by.

Oh my gosh, I love B Dubs. They had these in Omaha where I'm from and I was so happy to see one here in New Haven! They have a huge variety of sauces, almost all of them unbelievably good. I highly recommend the mango habenero - it's the best! This one is just as good as all the others I've been to and the interior is huge and great for watching games you don't get on your TV through your basic cable package :P
