It's hard for me to say, but I actually like this place. Granted, we went in on a quiet Friday with no game on the tube, and the place was not full, but I found the service to be good and the wings to be just above fine. They were a little over fried and dry, but come on, let's get real, you are at a chain joint. Get the right sauce and you are good to go -- we stuck with the classic "Wild" and ventured into the "Jerk" and were quite happy.
The surprise winner? Fried garlic mushrooms. Crisp, light and flavorful-- what a shocker!
For those who don't love the ESPN, there is trivia!
Since it's next door to the movie theatre in Evanston, I can see this as an easy date night again in the future. -

Based on all of my trips, my recommendation would be to hit the Glenview or Skokie BW3 if you're having a hankering. I've been twice for carryout, and twice for drinks and left dissapointed each time. If you do carryout, I can not stress enough that you NEED to check the bag before leaving. THey're 0 for 2 on getting my order correct. Last time I got home and my boneless wings barely had any sauce, and my wedges were sad. Very dissapointing because I normally love BW3.
Beer prices are awful, and I've also found the service to be slooooow. It took my 15 minutes for carryout when there were about 3 customers in the restaurant. I love BW3, but will be avoiding this location. -

I debated between 2 and 3 stars because the quality of the food is consistent, but the service sucks. Consistently sucks.
I now prefer to eat at Wing Stop even though its expensive and out of the way. The difference is, at Wingstop, the food takes forever because they're making it there, on the spot. At BWW, the food takes forever, because the staff are near retarded.
I've been ignored here even when the room is near empty. And when the place is hopping, forget about it. If you're not there to have drinks and watch TV, then your basically invisible. -

I love Buffalo wild wings but this service is horrible. I once went when there was a small gathering for a birthday party and these people were really loud. They were friends with our waitress which meant we had to hunt her down at that table to get some time of acknowledgement. She goes to several of the guys tables and has deep conversations while your sitting there waiting to pay your tab. This has happened on several occasions. I give 2 stars because I do enjoy the food.

Place has no made no improvements. The audio is difficult to hear but that's just probably due to crowd noise. The service is hit or miss depending on your server and what's on that day/night. I usually sit at the bar. Service can be very bad and slow. However, if you're lucky you'll get a server who stay on top of things. One of the best server is Vanessa. I'd still come here due to UFC, less crowded, and better TVs than Skokie's location.

I only go here if I have to. Waitstaff is not the best. One time, the waitress wrote herself a tip when one wasn't given for her poor service. I recommend driving all the way to the BWW on Touhy and Carpenter.

4 stars.
Could be 5, but my fav beer is just too pricey here!
I tell ya, every once in a while I get a hankerin' for some wings. And, I enjoy walking over to BW3 to spend some time at the bar with my fav bartender/server, Michelle.
Lunch specials are great, but I really think that Michelle is the reason that I come back. I appreciate good service, and understand that good, attentive service, WITH A SMILE AND GREAT CONVERATION, is a rarity.
Check out Asian Zing or Spicy Garlic - you can't go wrong with either of these sauces.
And if you go soon, you can catch the Woodchuck on draft. As I said earlier, its pricey, but geesh, it's good! -
Review from Samuel M.
Pedestrian at best. Beers are expensive and very average. Wings, while hot and predictable, are pretty bad; they are battered, and the sauce is either cloying (mango habanero, honey BBQ, asian zing), mediocre (all the "traditional" buffalo sauces) or downright repulsive to even think about (parmesan garlic). The fried potato wedges are this place's saving grace, and are the only thing I've eaten here which I would say is objectively worth the various expenditures entailed (both financial and caloric). However, I always leave this place feeling ill; even if I am only sitting with friends and drinking diet cokes, I manage to get a little sick. If it's wings you want, walk your lazy ass 1.5 blocks to Buff Joe's.
I will give the caveat that it is somewhat pleasurable to sit here and watch athletic competitions all day due to the volume of televisions. However, you're invariably going to be roped into ordering some below average, overpriced food and/or beverages while doing so. -

Don't bother going to Skokie: this location is bigger brighter and less crowded on 50c boneless nights.

Typical BWW, nothing thrilling/special. Waitresses do get SUPER busy on game days, so be patient, they bust their butts for you. Get there early before your game if you want a seat at the bar, let alone a table with a good view of the TV playing your game.
Ordered mild boneless wings, and my mouth was on FIRE. I have a low tolerance for spice, but there was no way this was mild. The sauce was caked on like frosting, that may have been the issue. -

This place is awesome! It is part sports bar, part very casual restaurant. There are literally televisions everywhere on the walls broadcasting different sports.
If you are a wing-lover like me, I highly recommend this place. They have a vast selection of buffalo wings, which are rated in order of spiciness on the menu. Prices are reasonable. This is a really cool hang-out place.
Our server, Valentina, was really nice. VALENTINA, if you are reading this, I wanted to tell you that I want to name my future daughter after you because it is such a beautiful name. -

I love BWW. That said the restaurant chain as a whole is too pricy. And of course it wouldn't be BWW if it weren't loud as a semi rolling by all the time. Wings are good. Sauces are GREAT.
I came on a UFC fight night. Service was average. After receiving a couple round of drinks we had to ask for more (we were there watching for 2.5 hours). Overall: it was ok. I only try to come here every now and then. -

The wings made me sick (as in bathroom urgency). This happened pretty much every time I went here until I finally couldn't take it anymore. I generally like BW3's as a pretty reliable chain, but something is going on with the wings (reg. & boneless) they serve.
I hate to give this place a bad review because the staff (especially the bartenders) are nice and attentive, whether it is busy or dead, but I can't recommend a restaurant where the food makes me sick. -
Review from Tom R.
I really want to give this location more stars, but thanks to an inattentive waitress the last time we were there they lose a point. She was too preoccupied with people she appeared to know, at the other end of the bar, that we literally sat with empty drinks and empty stomachs for 30 minutes before she came over again, which was odd because when we first got there she was on top of everything. I don't know if it was the fact that she knew we were going to be there a while watching the NCAA games that she felt even if she was attentive we still weren't ordering much while taking up a table for 4-5 hours, so she wouldn't make much anyways... but if that was her thinking then she screwed herself even more considering how little we tipped. Plus I feel like we ate/drank quite a bit during the hours we were there... as we always do.
I don't think I've ever left a bad tip for anyone despite some lackluster service, but this was just inexcusable. It's not going to keep me from going back to this location as it's very convenient and the food/drinks are good and reasonably priced, not to mention it's a great place to watch "the game", but I will go out of my way to make sure I don't end up in this one waitresses section at the bar ever again. There are plenty of other waitresses there that have been absolutely amazing to us (our favorite, Becky, apparently is no longer there though), so I'd rather give my money to one of them than this girl.
So other than this one bad experience with a waitress, which was the last time I've been there so it's left a bad taste in my mouth, I love this location. I will continue to go back and enjoy the beer and wings while watching whatever games are on that night, but I will make it a point to not sit with this person. -
Review from Amy W.
I'm not a huge fan of Buffalo Wild Wings, even with their advertised array of sauces for their wings. The rest of their food is just typical American food -- nothing terribly exciting, new, or good. However, even if the food is nothing great, I do appreciate the HUGE interior of this place and the bajillion television monitors. The service was good and the waitress was nice enough to turn a large screen monitor to the game that I wanted to watch.
HOWEVER, I came here yesterday night and to my disappointment they were not playing the Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight. WHAT?? One of the waitresses explained that as a company policy they're not allowed to play "adult" channels like HBO or Showtime, but still...! -

Wait staff let a single customer choose what the entire restaurant had to listen to on all of the speakers. This would have been okay if it was sports related (end of baseball game and soccer were on), but it was the movies (Yes. Plural) Despicable Me and Up. Both are fine movies, but I thought this was a sports bar.
Questions
1. Who goes to bw3s to watch cartoon movies at night?
2. Why would the manager let one customer choose the audio for the entire place (again 2 cartoon movies in a sports bar).
3. Why was I the only one in the place asking about this? -
Review from Kyle H.
I'm in the habit of referring to Buffalo Wild Wings as their former name, "BW3". A ten-cent wing night and $2 beer special made BW3's a Tuesday night institution during my undergrad days. And I like saying "weck"!
This Buffalo Wuhh...Wuhh...See, like the Fonz, I just can't say it. This B-Dubs has a few rooms and a ton of flat screen TVs. This is THE place to watch the Big Game! And if you leave your seat to relieve yourself, small flat screens in the men's and (I've been told) women's restrooms guarantee you won't miss a minute of the action!
The front room sucks, so refuse to be seated in the front room unless you're just there pretending to study. The middle room or bar area are both great. They also have a "Best Seat in the House"- a recliner that faces a confluence of four small flat screens put together over the bar. You can win the Best Seat in the House, but it's kinda awkward. There's only one recliner, so your spouse, girlfriend, buddies have to kind of mull around you while you watch the game in the Lap of Luxury. Kinda goofy that they don't at least have two Best Seats in the House.
Service here started off kind of poor, but as it got busier it got better, how strange is that? If I were B-Dubs, I would hire one "busser" per room to clear napkins, empty glasses, buffalo bones...y'know, keep the tables clean! I got the Hot wings and they were hot! My lips felt as big as Mick Jagger's there, for a little while. They were great wings. They have an okay beer selection, and a good 24 oz. MGD64 special. Can't fill up on beer when you're downing wings!
All in all, an A-Okay "BW3" experience in Evanston.Listed in: Evanston is not in Canada

Review from Daphne L.
I've learned in the last few months that this BWW is great for after work, evenings, lingering..basically any time that you're not restricted to a limited amount of time. Lunch hour? Not so great. Pretty not-great..I hate to say bad. I've been going there for lunch with friends with some regularity over the past 7 months, and, they just can't seem to grasp the concept that we are there during our lunch HOUR. Not our lunch hour and a half, not our lunch 2 hour. I have the luxury of being able to extend my lunch occasionally, but, not everyone can, and it makes for a stressful meal to say the least.
Almost every time we've been there for lunch we've had to wait a ridiculously long time for food, drinks, and checks. The staff is nice bunch, but, they're simply too slow at that time of day. I was there last week with a group of 6 for lunch, and, it took us 40-45 minutes to get our food, and that's just ridiculous. It's chicken and fries, maybe salad, not souffle and fillet mignon..why such a long wait? And, there's never a big crowd in there, so I really don't understand why it takes so long. It was such a long wait the last time that we had to get our food to go. The general consensus was that we probably won't go back and that's too bad because it is a nice change of pace from the usual sandwich spot. If they can't work out the kinks, though, we'll have wait until after work.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Matt R.
I love hot food. I love the kind of hot food that makes you wish you didn't eat it, where your eyes water and your body rebels.
With that said, I had a hankering to get some more Blazin wings (boneless). They were great, but burned for about a half hour in my mouth, and about a day in my small intestine.
I've always liked BWW, and this location delivered just like any other. There were plenty of TV's with sports all around, service was decently fast, and the food was reliable. It's also a good location in being close to free parking and the movie theatre and all that.
So what sucked? The fried pickles. If you've ever had these in wisconsin or any generally rural area, a fried pickle is something of a delicacy. It's juicy goodness only comes second to typically having an awesome breaded flavor. The ones at BWW? They were like eating a salty cracker with the smallest of pickle slices between them. We're talking the size of a USB flash drive in pickles, total. Usually, it's somewheres in the realm of an actual slice of a pickle, not the size of a quarter and just as thin. No flavor, and an absolute fail on the chef.
So I'm disappointed on the pickles, BWW! *Shakes fist*. -

If anyone has ever read any of my reviews, you're well aware that I'm kinda' weird when it concerns B'dubs, BW3's, or more commonly known as: Buffalo Wild Wings. I generally despise chain restaurants, but I really love this franchise. Stock ticker symbol: BWLD
I generally come to this newer and cleaner B'dubs on an afternoon, to watch a game, grab some lunch and a few beers. This location is great, as it's generally not too crowded in the early afternoon during the week, and the food is always fresh. But, what really gets me to frequent this location is the staff. Yep, they seem to actually enjoy their job. I know, shocking!
Michelle is generally the day Bartender, and she's awesome. Very friendly and efficient Bartender. Actually, she is probably the reason a buddy of mine and I come in specifically to this location. In addition to Michelle, the entire staff is generally friendly, and they work damn hard keeping the bar area clean. (Much different from the Lincoln Park location)
Good food, good service, and great beer selection.

Truth: I don't like to eat meat off the bone. However, I do enjoy a pint or two after a movie at the neighboring theater. Yep, they've got an onsite bar at the theatre but it closes somewhat early. Where to go nearby at 11pm? Buffalo Wild Wings was still lit up so off we were!
My friend actually loooooves wings so it may have been more his decision than mine. Because it was late on a Monday night, we had free reign of the restaurant and a dedicated server (only a few other tables). Two Bell's Oberon pints for me and an order of hot wings + blue cheese and 2 Coronas for him = satisfaction.
I actually did try a wing and though I am far from knowledgeable, they tasted fine to me. The sauce was hot as expected and I actually got some in my eye after wiping it 15 minutes or so later (*tear roll*). Learned my lesson!
Plenty of TVs to go with your wings. Because that's what most people come here for, right? I could be wrong but wings + sports usually don't equate to an upscale culinary experience. And I think that's probably just fine by all the regulars here. -

I came here last night to watch some UFC games and was dissapointed with my overall experience.
We were seated promptly, but then again, the place was a ghost town. I ordered some crispy chicken sandwich (I forget the exact name). The sandwich was not even warm, the breading didn't look crispy, and the taste was flavorless. The fries were kind of cold, and again, flavorless.
My friends and I decided to ask the waiter if he could turn on the sound for the UFC game. He said there was no way, not when there was a bulls game on. Really? There were 6 of us, all wanting to watch the fight. The rest of the patrons (which were maybe 3 other people scattered about) were not even watching the game or they were seated by one of the many other TV's, and could both hear and watch their game without distruption, even if our TV's sound was on. After about 2hrs of us spending $$ on drinks and food, he finally turned on the sound.
Alas, I don't think I'll be back here soon unless there's a very good UFC fight and I'm in need of a beer. The food is much better accross the street at other restaurants, and also at some other bars within walking distance of this place, and they all have TV's too. -

DO NOT EAT HERE.
Me and my friend got FOOD POISONING from eating here. My friend became VIOLENTLY ILL (ie. he was throwing up etc), and it was the only thing we ate all day so there is no question about what the cause was.
Just in case you are somehow are unfazed by this I have more to say-- the service and quality of food is terrible. They charge for extra sauce, never give baskets to put the bones into, don't give enough napkins, and it took like 50 minutes to get our wings. Anyhow even on 45 cent wing Tuesday the wings are still too expensive. -

This one is better than the BWW where I went to college, but it still is just a chain. It is the cleanest BWW I have ever seen, but it is pretty new.
The main appeal, for me and my friend at least, is the Buzztime trivia. You have to ask your server for the consoles. Beware, you might find sauce on the buttons. There are several TVs with the trivia game. They will change a TV to the trivia if you ask them to, but no guarantee that it won't get changed to a sports event if a different patron asks.
The three times I've been there, we were seated in the upper dining section, the first two times by default and the third time, we were given a choice between the upper and lower sections.
The service was decent the first two times, and merely okay the third (which was the time when we needed the decent service since we had a movie to get to).
My meal has been piping hot every time. The first time I got the mini corn dogs with buffalo chips, and the next two times I got the chicken tenders with buffalo chips. The last time, I had to let my food set a bit so it was cool enough to eat. The chicken was tasty and I love the buffalo chips. The corn dogs were corn dogs.
The mixed drinks were decent and relatively cheap. The server the two times was attentive to when we needed another drink. However, the one time that I went with pop, my glass sat empty for a while with no server in sight, ours or not.
I enjoyed the satellite radio station they had on, and thought it was unnecessary that they turned it off to hear the commentary for the Bulls games. I understand that it is a sports bar. But in my opinion, if you watching the game, you have a basic understanding of what is happening on the screen. If you need the commentary to figure out what is going on, maybe you should be watching the game at home. Plus, there is the option of closed captioning.
The bill at the end of the night was decent and the greeters seem genuine on the hellos and goodbyes. I would go again, but my friend might not be so willing. -
Review from Ju L.
This place suuuuucks.
1 beer took 10 minutes to get to our table. Food took a half hour. Place was mostly empty (huge space though).
The Black & Bleu burger was edible (big slab o' burger), but insanely salty and overprocessed, which is never a great word to describe a burger. Don't even try the Caribbean Jerk wings. Aside from the wings being teeny tiny, the seasoning just tasted like anise. Jerk sauce? Nope. A friend also remembers with bitterness the one time she tried their boneless wings, and how much they sucked.
"B-Dubbs" is a nice place to go to sit and watch a game. Food is an afterthought. Lots of screens everywhere with different games and people at other tables shouting dramatic OHH!!!'s if you're into that (and if you're here, you probably should be). Well now, it makes sense: No point in getting food out in 10 minutes if someone's going to be sitting there for an 1.5 hours gazing at a screen anyway.
Chicago suburbanites may have fond memories involving BWW's, but my experiences were bleh. -

I come here frequently throughout the academic year. The restaurant is relatively new and quite well maintained. Food and service are generally excellent. Only once have I encountered issues: a friend got "wild" sauce instead of the "mild" he ordered. Some major game was on at the time and it was especially loud, but the server should have confirmed the request.
I don't like the white garlic sauce, but all the others I've tried have tasted great. As for appetizers, chips and salsa aren't spicy and are great for sharing. The garden salad is quite fresh, too, for those looking at healthier options. -

I wish i could give less than one star to this garbage place. I went there to eat dinner with my friend last night and i ordered some wings. After i went back to home, i didn't feel well. I got some kinda headache and start vomiting and didn't stop for a while. I felt like i was gonna die.
I made a promise to myself not to go to bww again. Please don't go to this place. Otherwise you will die. Thank god i didn't die last night. -

When BDubbs came to Evanston, I was reminded that this city really is a suburb and not a part of Chicago. BDubbs indicates the existence of a suburb, in my experience.
When I went to this particular Buffalo Wild Wings, I experienced the reliable and consistent service and food that I've come to expect from the place - a large establishment with a ton of TVs. I chose a good sauce from the large list spanning the menu.
Sadly, my table lacked a handheld trivia control, and I saw few in the restaurant. Unexpectedly, a beer brand sponsored a raffle and provided a BOGO special. My friend won a shirt and we both got a free beer. The night proved to be familiar, yet had elements of new excitement. Maybe this BDubbs, for better or worse, is not quite the same as every other one in suburban America. -

While they may have the wings, they don't have the service.
This BWW location is much, much bigger than you would anticipate from the storefront, and as other reviewers have said, it is very clean, but I've noticed that the service here has been highly variable. And that's coming from someone who's very well aware of all the different interpretations of the BWW rules and expectations of service. Sometimes, you can split wings one way, and other times, another. Sometimes, they'll coat your wings with a North Face-thick lining of sauce. Other times it'll seem like they dumped it straight from the fryer into your (paper) basket, and won't agree to provide a little extra sauce.
Also, they have been really hit-or-miss when it comes to big game days- I've seen lines out the doors because they weren't prepared for some big events, while other times, it all seems to go smoothly. Hopefully they get better as the management team gets more experience. -

I try to judge places only by the food. For me, bad service does not mask how much I enjoyed the food. But this was too bad to ignore.
Went a few months back during the Hawks-Sharks game 2. My friends and I were just there to have some drinks and catch the game. The server took a year to get any one drink we ordered. And when we deiced to get some wings, those took even longer. Amazingly, we see our server just screwing around with friends of his who were at the place not too far from us. Sheesh.
The wings? Over cooked. Thanks. We tipped the waiter what he deserved and left. I'll stick with Buffalo Joes for wings in evanston. As for sporting events, there are plenty of options. -

Buffalo Wild Wings in Evanston has about the worst customer service that anyone can get, short of the waitresses and/managers cussing you out. My friends and I work for Northwestern University. Today, we decided to have lunch at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Evanston, IL. Usually, we come there at least once a week. And, usually, we end up having our order wrong or waiting over 40 minutes to get our order. As an example, we (6 guys) placed our order around 12:15PM and found that my order was incorrect at around 1PM--it wasn't busy and there were 20 people in the restaurant. I told them what the order was and they still brought out the wrong thing that I ordered. I told them to cancel the order, and I ended walking out of the restaurant. This isn't the first time this has happened. One time we had a manager blame us for placing the order! Seriously?

I have been to several BDubs throughout the country and when my brother told me a new one was opening up in Evanston, I was eager to jump on the opportunity to try it out. I also visited on the first day of opening and unlike other reviewers I had a pretty good experience.
To start off, BDubs is not just a place to eat wings, it's always been a spot to experience sports and NFL Sundays at Bdubs was always a favorite of mine back at home. I think they did a great job of lining up TVs throughout the joint but they need to have a better person managing what's on where. Every game should be on in "every region" of the restaurant and believe me they have enough TV's to support this.
Jumping over to service, I was personally surprised at the great level of service we received on opening day. The manager stopped by several times to make sure we were doing ok and our waiter was on top of it making sure we had everything we needed. He was super friendly and kept up with all the orders of our large party of about 10 people.
Now to the most important details...the WANGS. Going through my reviews you'll realize i LOVE wings. I end up eating them everywhere i get a chance just to continue my search for amazing wings. I've always loved BWW because of their variety of sauces and fantastic sides. I think the wings here were fantastic, all the flavors we ordered were great an dripping with sauce. I fortunately didn't get any that were undercooked or raw as many of the other reviewers. The wedges were fantastic and for those going to BWW for the first or 15th time, if you haven't tried the mushrooms ORDER THEM FIRST! They are amazing...especially the dipping sauces provided on the side.
Although this was no where near the best Bdubs experience, it was surprisingly good for a first day.
My last piece of advice, if you go to Bdubs, eat the wings. If you don't like wings then don't go...the burgers and all their other inventions of dishes and food are never going to be amazing because they are a Wings joint.

One would think that between the holidays, with more local homegrown traffic, and few tables occupied, that the service would be average to better than usual. Not so at this BW3 location.
Met up with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. at this location with my own family over the holiday break and it was poor to say the least. Waiter took drink orders first but ordering a beer was apparently an oddity, so that came 15 minutes after all others. And was the wrong beer to boot.
Table of four next to us got their order in and were served food about 25 minutes before us. When food finally arrived, three of eight orders were wrong, items not ordered were brought out, and this was about 55 minutes after sitting down.
But hey, it's nothing that an extra order of "smiley fries" and 25% off the total ticket couldn't resolve, right? Methinks not.
Chili's is just a few doors down. Go there. -

It's your average BDubs. You eat at one, you have eaten at them all. This location is plagued by annoying college kids when a college game is going on. Most of the servers I've had seem scatter brained. There not bad, but you can tell they have something else on their mind then being at work. I don't hate this place but its nothing amazing. I go to this one frequent because its close, down town in Evanston and next door to the movie theater that I go to all the time.

I'm giving the place two starts for the staff. Very friendly and attentive. But the food? The drinks? Not so much.
Went there the other day after work with co-workers. We started with beer -- a decent special on Sam Adam Winter Lager was nice. Then we went for the wings. But then we did a few shots, and everyone in our group didn;t taste any alcohol in the first shots. Too much lime juice.
The sauces are very good, but the wings are too fried, and too small. I love the Blazin' Sauce and the Mango Habanero is really good. I just wish there was something better to put them on.
For wings in Evanston, Merle's BBQ has great wings. I love their naked wings. Very juicy and tasty. And Wednesdays are 25 cent wing night. That's the best deal in Evanston.
BWW is good, not great. The staff is great. Tamika was very friendly and stopped by frequently. -

Tried the new Buffalo Wild Wings in Evanston the other day. As other reviewers have noted, it's new- so maybe they'll iron out some faults.
First, our server was great. Yes, they seem to have way to many servers- two people to hold two doors open? Ok... They also have 19 flat panel tv's in the front room. Not sure if it's a good sign when patrons are outnumbered by tv's.
Anyway, the food. The food is bad. Just bad. I assumed at least the wings would be good. Nope. Our food was served in plastic bowls. The salad dressing is a plastic pouch of Kraft salad dressing. The fries were stale. If you cant' do a decent fry- come on, American love their fries. The burgers were cold.
This reminded me of cafeteria food- or something you'd pick up at an airport.
We live a block or two away. We won't be going back. With this place an Chilli's, this is a Black Hole of eating in Evanston. Go around the corner and eat at the Little Mexican Restaurant, or anywhere else.
