Stopped for a late lunch. Great service and we both had great meals. I had the cheese burger. The fries were great. I also had the chill; it was good; but it was almost all if not all out of a can. The bread the burger came on was hella good; it was not the plane Jane bun that everyone has; it was some kind of a square airy bread that was HELLA good!
My friend had the patty melt and said it was good. Did I say the burger bread was HELLA good? -

The Buffalo Hill Bakery and Cafe is really good for a Saturday morning breakfast. Everyone is super nice here and they have killer breakfast burritos if you are in a hurry... or the breakfast sandwich on a English muffin with cheddar and bacon is really good too.
I always get the Toffee Coffee here.. hot or cold.. with an extra shot of espresso. I really enjoy their espresso coffees as they are some of the best around.
This place has a really 'at home' feeling, if you are a regular you even get a coffee cup on the wall with your name on it!!
Lori who works at the front counter is the best and makes everyone feel at home and knows everyone by name.... all the employees are really good servers and are genuinely nice.
I hear their breakfast skillets are really good with chicken fried steak and I am going to try that next time I am there. -

Cute, local breakfast place, can be gluten free (my brother in law's needs), charming and fantastic service. Especially by Cynthia, I believe daughter of the owner. We were a group of ten and she did everything to make us feel at home and took all our orders with care. She even gave us an ice bag at the end when we needed one for a spider bite on my son's arms. This was so unlike the experience we had the previous night at a supposed high rated steak house called Vernier. Awful service with a snobby attitude for a local, down to earth town. If we are in the area again, definitely come here and tell your local friends to come here too. As I believe they all already know about Buffalo Hill Cafe.

I have eaten here five times. But only because good friends insist on eating here and there's not a huge selection up in Growlersburg.
The service is fine and the staff are friendly and attentive. I have two main issues:
The food. The hamburgers are dry, the buns (a roll instead of a bun, actually) make them even drier, the soups are salty, the breakfasts are not anything better than I could make at home, and the meatloaf is something I would not recommend.
The second issue: Flies. At dinner, it wasn't such an issue, but the times I have been there for breakfast and lunch, we were literally waiving the flies away from our plates while we were trying to eat. Do they leave the back door open or what? Flies landing on my food tends to kill my appetite fast, and I gave up eating breakfast one day pretty quickly. It's my major issue with this restaurant, and why I'll dig my heels in the next time my friends suggest this for a change of pace.
