Holy hot pastries....my first BDB experience has been a bittersweet one. Amazing due to the array of freshly baked sweet and savory pastries, and disappointing because I held out for so long on going there - and I'll never get that time back!

I tried the brioche stuffed with Camembert fresh from the oven...the buttery bread, melty cheese, and salty top completely hit the spot. The bread was a touch denser than traditional French brioche, but delicious nonetheless. And coupled with a free Lavazza coffee on free coffee Thursdays...total bliss.

The prices are fairly expensive, but I'll forgive them for the quality of the ingredients. The bakery is moving a mile south next week, but well worth the jaunt. I can't wait to get back for my next indulgence, though my waistline begs to differ.

Cute little bakery. Pretty busy when we were there on a Saturday morning.

We were there about 10:00 AM. They open at 8:00 AM and they were already out of several items. Boo!

The sticky bun I had was pretty tasty and full of caramel and nuts but it was kind of small for the price I thought. What would really make this sticky bun would be if it could be heated and have some melted butter drizzled over the top. That would send it over the TOP!

I like the mix of coffee cups. Added a neighborly feel to the bakery. Which has a pretty strong neighborly feel to it any way.

I think I prefer Duffy's to this place however. But, I am up for a second visit after they have been in their new location a while longer maybe they will be better prepared and not run out of items so quickly.

WOW!  A friend introduced me to this place because she brought a box to our monthly meeting.  I must say, this is place is phenomenal!  The ingredients alone will make your mouth water.  This place is one of Denver's best and unique.  Since last summer,  I have moved to NYC and have yet to find a bakery with this concept and ingredients.

I vote an opening in NYC!!!

Honestly, I don't see this place lasting long.  Aside from it being incredibly unorganized, it seems kind of unprofessional.  They have dry erase board menus sitting on the floor, the staff doesn't seem to know much about what they're selling, the setup of the place seems like it's done all wrong, the food is sub-par for the prices they charge, and it just makes me feel weird to be there.  I understand that they just opened, but I'm disappointed.  I feel greasy, I feel heavy, and to throw away half of my pastry is pretty depressing.  The latte had no espresso taste, and I have a doughy aftertaste in my mouth from my turnover.  It should just be rethought, in my opinion.  Honestly, I give them a year.

Yep, I'm way in t he minority here, but everything I eat from here is bland. The service is really great but for me, the flavor just isn't there. And I've tried dang near every kind of pastry and food item there is to be had here.  I still stop in here in a great while, but all I can ever taste in everything is a lot of butter- that includes chocolate croissants, brioche with cheeses, even their omelets. Others love it tho, so at least check out for your own taste buds.

The cowgirl breakfast is pretty great... An egg casserole with feta, eggs, bread, spinach, peppers, and onion. Filling and flavorful. Coffee is decent. I only give this place three stars because they need to work out some kinks in terms of the general layout and methods of ordering, paying, etc. Because right now, it's pretty awful. There is nothing worse than shuffling around in a circle with a bunch of strangers while you wait for your coffee. A little awkward. And that's an important issue for breakfast/coffee joints that require you to wait in line upon entering. I think they are so used to being cramped up in a house that they don't know what to do with all the space. During the week, its not too much of a problem, but saturday and sunday tend to be cluster. The service staff here is really sweet. I still want to try more of the pastries, and I'm sure I will. I just dread going there on a Saturday morning.

Sooo good.  Even though Denver likes to think it's a breakfast town; frankly I think it falls short in a lot of cases but then this place comes to the rescue.

When you do go in, don't be in a hurry because it isn't the speediest service and patrons tend to need some time to make a decision. But it's worth the wait.
There are a few small tables where you can sit or you can get something to go but I recommend eating your chosen pastry while its warm.

The menu isn't like any old coffee shop, so no plain bagels etc.  Instead I love their cherry turnover (heated in the toaster oven please) and their "turkey next door " filled with turkey and chutney and cheese, mmmm.

Try it, I swear you will have found a new guilty pleasure.

This place bakes up the best pasteries..............bar none.  They have recently moved to a much larger space at the corner of Broadway and Louisiana.  You can't miss the purple and yellow building on the corner.  Anything here is divine, and if you take some goods to go, make sure you warm them in the oven, no microwave, it ruins the texture.  I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite pastry, I like all the savory ones.  And Thursdays are free coffee.

The new location has not helped this place become any more organized or offer a wider selection of their baked goods. Which is a shame because the baked goodies are mighty tasty. Sadly this establishment suffers from being incredibly unorganized! The basic layout of the bakery is terrible with tons of wasted space. The coffee stand, display cases and cash register area is a confusing setup that creates a space where the customers wander around wondering where they should place their order. The employees appear quite helpless to offer any assistance. The person who is usually at the cash register has a rough time ringing items up, not know the prices, what you ordered, which customer is with whom & ringing up wrong items, etc.  Having grease board menus that are located on the floor don't help matters. For an establishment that advertises itself as a bakery they have a very small selection of baked goods yet curiously they appear to have a rather larger bakery that is staffed with what appears to be bakers? Every time I have been there the selection of baked goods has been very, very skimpy.

While the food & coffee items are good the poor setup of the establishment & total lack of selection of bakery goods in the display cases make it tough to be a return customer. Very sad because this part of the neighborhood could use a nice bakery.

How awesome is this bakery?  The best in Denver.  Lovely homey, yet urban location off S. Broadway.  Free wifi, awesome balcony, cozy inside seating areas, yummy italian drip coffee (1 free refill!) and baked goods to-die-for.  What else could you possibly need?  Get the farmers' croissant, chocolate bread pudding or their daily cowboy breakfast....or do as I do and get them all.  The icing on the bearpaw - the staff here has the best-est attitude....perhaps they get free sugary goods and caffeine.  I'd be happy to see you too.

Oh. My. [insert chosen deity here] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my absolute favoritest spot for breakfast in Denver. I work downtown and a friend and I found this little slice of awesome on the way to work one day. It's been a must ever since.

Thursdays you get FREE coffee (delish) and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. My favorites are the Feta and Spinach croissant and the Cowboy Breakfast. Seriously anything you get is made with their excellent croissant dough and I must say that it is the best I have ever had.

We have since moved to Thornton and once or twice a month my family and I will make a trip (about 35 min from our home) for this place. Really it's that good. :)

Their cheddar scones are unbelievable. Some of their other sweets are amazing too. However, the Challah isn't good. Reminds me of grubby-fingered pre-school challah. Somethings off in the yeast, I think.

So, I busted my ass doing Crossfit all week all so I could indulge in the breakfast from BD this Friday morning. I had a $10 Westword coup to use so I chose a bear claw and kermit's delight because I couldn't chose between sweet and savory. Ultimate gut bomb!

What a cute cute cute bakery located in a purple house. I had no idea I've been passing this place for years until my GPS brought me here. Duh.

If you have a craving for a buttery, flaky pastry look no further than this place! Most items are $3.75-4.00.

Is it wrong that I ate a piece of my Chocolatine that fell on my office floor? Don't answer that...I just can't let any of that chocolatey buttery flaky goodness go to waste. And hey...5 second rule.

I've upgraded Buffalo Doughboy to 5 stars. It really is as good as it gets. Their pastries are so buttery and tasty and the staff is always friendly-even at 6:30 with a bunch of customers eagerly waiting on the porch for them to open. Additionally, they give you a complimentary coffee when you purchase a few pastries...and that coffee is Lavazza.  Need I say more?

Just a little more. If you haven't been to Buffalo Doughboy Bakery, definitely bookmark it now and go when you want a carb and butter party in your mouth. I suggest getting there right when they open and consuming within the first hour to get  that fresh out of the oven experience.

    Here is my truthful confession:

I think I started having dreams about this place after two consecutive visits.  During one of my many Colorado visits, I had a chance to stop by this little French bakery for a quick snack during our food-hoping mission.  Little did I know, a quick snack was convincing enough to come back on the following day and may be it was a bad idea since we bought almost very single kind of their pastry goods.  Oops.  Bakeries are one of my biggest weaknesses and I am fully aware of it.  My doughboy experience was one of those rare occasions that put me back to my childhood.  I was that kid in a candy store again; except I was no longer a kid and it took place in a bakery.  Everything looked SO good and I couldn't resist the urge.

As we chatted with the friendly staff, we learned that not the same baked goods are made everyday.  The chef decides what to make daily - in other words, he makes whatever the hell he wants.    However, one may place an order ahead of time to ensure that particular item will be made.

Doughboy also offers frequent customer punch card -buy 10 get 1 free!  It is definitely not a hard thing to do when their baked goods are to die for.  Unquestionably best bakery I have had in Denver - a solid 5-star gem.

Right when you walk in here it feels so warm and inviting.  There are pastry cases adorned with a huge selection of everything sweet to savory.  Everything is made from scratch with classic technique.  I have never seen a croissant as beautiful as that except for the one my pastry instructor made for us in school
Their coffee is some of the best I have ever had and so reasonably priced. An extra shot of espresso is only a quarter!
Lunch is just as good too.  A huge panini stuffed full of all kinds of fresh organic ingredients (glazed butternut squash) made on fresh ciabatta will only set you back six bucks!  Also worth mentioning are their smoothies, they are so fresh and good and only 3 bucks.
If you haven't tried the Buffalo Doughboy Bakery you are missing out!

When I walked through the door way with a group of friends I noticed how very quaint this place is. I wish they had more seating, but forgot about how cramped I was when I took a bite of my warm, sweet french bread. When I went back in for a second, I saw melting, gooey Camembert  oozing out. This experience was made even more perfect with the dusting of kosher salt sprinkled on top to balance the sweetness of the bread. Can't wait to come back. May be next time I'll go by myself.

These. Pastries. Are. Amazing. Your typical croissants, brioches, general bread items, are great here, but the BEST items they have to offer are sweet and savory stuff croissants. My favorites are the "Turkey Next Door" (turkey, spinach, goat cheese, tomato chutney), "Bird in a Bun" (basically a chicken pot pie in a croissant), and a super rich chocolate filled croissant.

Their coffee is good, the inside is quaint, and they feature local artists' work on their walls. Great place to grab breakfast on the way to work, or to hang out for brunch on the weekend. Quick warning - seating is tight, so sometimes finding a table is tricky. They have great outdoor seating though, so go once the weather is warm go and stock up on your vitamin D.

Given the large number of yummy pastries they make, they rotate through a variety of options, so you don't necessarily know if that one you love will be there. That being said, my girlfriend informs me (though I haven't tried it yet...) that you can call ahead a request your favorite pastry - let me know if you try it and are successful! :)

Best baked goods in Denver! I was skeptical at first because I didn't really like the look of the shop right away and because the prices seemed high. Once I took my first bite it was all over. Now I rave about this place and go here all the time. Don't miss out because this is the best place to get a flaky, chewy perfect pastry.

Buffalo Doughboy has managed to work it's way into I-don't-feel-like-making-breakfast-before-work rotation.  I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner....here I've been wasting my time at Starbucks and Bardos (who serves stale week-old Buffalo Doughboy pastries by the way and yes, I'm bitter).

It's literally right on the way to work, there's hardly ever a line, they have Bhakti chai (I mentioned it before but I sure do love the stuff), the ladies at the counter are always friendly and helpful, and nothing says lovin' like a warm, flaky pastry filled with vegetables and cheese.  Also, they have a punchcard and you get a punch for an espresso/chai beverage and one for a pastry.  I know my card will be filling up fast.

    What a cute pastry home!

If you like fresh buttery croissants, you will heart Buffalo Doughboy!
How good are they? They're pretty damn good. Some coffee shops and nearby business get Buffalo Doughboy to sell at their own shops... so the B-Db has got a great reputation.

I finally came to try this place after having it bookmarked for over a year and this doughboy did not disappoint.

They've got many croissant-type of savory and dessert  pastries. They also carry key lime pies, brownies, paninis, complete with a full coffee bar.

I've tried their almond bearclaw ($3.75), Chocolatine ($3.75), Brioche with Brie Cheese ($3.75) and Downturner, this pastry filled with eggs, potato, Italian sausage, and little bits of onion ($4). All were so delicious!!

Watch out though if you care about calories. The pastries here are pretty big. I cant imagine anything being less than 500 calories. Especially all the ones filled with feta and other types of cheese. @__@... rest assured that your belly will grow in a non-pregnant way if you come often. :D

There are 5 tables in the shop. It can seat 13 people if all the chairs are taken. Patio and outside seating are available as well. Check out the photos ~

They also have a frequent-buyer card. You will get rewarded for coming often. Yay!

Scones are about as good as breakfast-on-the-go gets. When I walked into Buffalo, the cranberry white chocolate scone caught my eye. I already knew cranberry white chocolate cookies were my favorite, but this scone was out-of-this-world!

The buffalo bakery is a one of a kind, hole in the wall kind of place. If you don't get there early enough in the morning, the selection of baked goods is minial. So make sure to go early!

I recommend getting the bakti chai with a delicious scone. My sunday morning breakfast was phenominal!

I'm a bakery worshipper. I've worked in bakeries for my entire working life, and am planning to own one when I'm too old and cynical for politics. I don't eff around with bakeries. And so please, please believe me when I say that their spinach feta pastry is the epitome of quality baked goods.

It isn't a croissant, because it isn't empty, weightless, flakey. It isn't a roll, because it is buttery, creamy, perfect, layered heaven. It is, without a doubt, PERFECT IN EVERY WAY.

You know how you have croissants sometimes and the edges/corners are all hard and dry and crusty? Nothing close to that here- it was light and just a little crispy, like a bite of a water cracker (you know- those crackers that cost $5 a freaking box). The flavor was outstanding- the feta/spinach proportions PERFECT (don't let those other haters fool you).

Basically, I was in a swoon. A quiet, peaceful, delicious, perfection-induced swoon.

$4 too much to pay for this kind of swoon? Ninja, please.

They sell bath products, fancy deli meats and cheeses, delicious pastries, AND (most importantly) serve up tasty coffee all in the coziest of little shops. Yeah, I'm not sure how they landed on the combination of products, either. Regardless, the cheese scone was insane. The free coffee was fantastic. And the eavesdropping opportunities? Superb...

"I don't know. He's dating her, but he intends to dump her in the fall and then marry Catherine."

    "Really?"

"Yep. He keeps asking me what Catherine likes. I told him spaghetti."

"Do you want to go upstairs?"

"No, I HAVE to do the Jumble. My day isn't complete without the Jumble."

I could have stood there and appeared like I wasn't listening for hours. What a great place to hang out! I am already anticipating a gray Sunday afternoon in the near future during which I can sit by the window in their shop and journal away my day while eating, drinking, and absorbing the sheer awesomeness that is this great space.

    Holy Toledo!

Buttery and flaky come to mind instantly.  I had a savory filled pastry stuffed with bacon, cheese, and apple chutney. Very interestingly delicious.  Then I had an almond paste filled croissant which was divine, my favorite of everything so far.  Finally, I had one with apples and cinnamon, kind of like an apple strudel.  Yum!  I probably should have taken some high cholesterol meds after that, but oh well.  I can't believe I haven't even tried their pain au chocolat yet because that is my favorite pastry of all time, and they look great!

My new favorite place for a quick breakfast!!! I ran into an old colleague on the way in the door, so I had plenty of time to browse the case as I chatted with her about life, love and pastries! It is so incredibly welcoming from the moment you walk in!

Not the place to go if you want donuts or eggs or anything like that but if you want delicious pastries, croissants, danish, cupcakes or coffee - you owe it to yourself to give them a try. I had the cheese scone and it was amazing. It tasted similar to the cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster but on a whole new level of yummy. I picked up a prosciutto danish for Todd, which he enjoyed (though he wished it was warm).

Just as I was paying, they brought out some other goodness warm from the oven. I can't remember what it was called (it started with a "p" and sounded like "pasta") but it was basically filo dough around cream cheese and guava. It was about the size and shape of spanakopita. It was divine. Since my scone was savory, it was a perfect combo. All washed down with some amazing chai.

All 4 items were purchased for just $11. With the amazing and friendly service, I can't wait to go back to try to the Red Velvet cupcakes!

    Other important information:
    * Free Wifi!
    * They have King and Queen cakes for Mardi Gras celebrations!
    * Thursdays they have FREE coffee!! AMAZING!
    * They offer acupuncture on site.
    * In the afternoons they have FRESH, WARM baked bread!
    * They sell specialty meats and cheeses by the pound!

Adorable and delicious! These are the two words that come to mind when I'm thinking of this small bakery/deli/coffee shop in Baker. The building is an old house so there are little nooks and crannies where you can sit or pour your cream and sugar into your coffee. I myself sat outside at one of the little table in the sunshine when we were having a gorgeous 70-degree day. You know, just before the blizzard.

The coffee was good, my croissant stuffed with cheese and ham decadent and there were a dozen different treats I wanted to try. Besides all of this you can get deli meats and cheeses sold by weight to go. And the people working there are as sweet as their baked goods. It is definitely a crowded place so if you want to go to work you have to be okay with that. (They do have Wi-Fi.) And, if you want to go for a nice conversation you'll fit right in.

Great little coffee shop - yummy baked goods with interesting ingredents cheese scones, asagio (insert meat here - sorry I can't remember right now). Delicious!
Simple lattes; SM, M and L - mocha, chai - regular stuff for a small coffee shop. Free wifi - outdoor seating and a neighborhood dog. Awesome - I love it.
Super centrally located with the most amazing, friendly barista ever. I love chicks that can pull off dreads.

Free wifi, time travel, love and coffee on Thursdays!

My first meetup, so this review may be skewed by the great company.

Awesome little place just off Broadway, in an old house. The place reeks of positive Karma. And baked goods to boot. Had the medium cappuccino, nonfat milk, my benchmark coffee drink. Excellent whip, great coffee taste. Followed up with a refill of the free java. Superior Lavazza coffee.

Of course, I'd be satisfied by the caffeine alone, but the baked goods take this place to another level. I tried the cranberry & white chocolate scone. This was perhaps the best scone I've had in recent memory. Just the right flake, sweetness & tart. I also spied some odd breads that looked like midget baguettes on steroids. Gotta grab one of those next time.

I think it's just not my scene.  The interior is small, but instead of cozy I found it cramped.  I was uncomfortable about sitting down to eat my pastry because I felt that I'd get drawn into a conversation, which was not what I was looking for.

As I entered, there was a rack of sauces and preserves and I think some skin care products.  That was outside the door to the acupuncture room with a sign reading "session in progress" or something. Someone walked past me to head up the stairs, along the way shouting to me about how great the products on the shelves are.

The next room housed the pastry cases and an employee.  the chocolates looked beautiful, but I was truly disappointed in the pastries. I've been craving croissants lately and headed here because of the croissant mentions in the reviews.  I was hoping for something flaky and buttery, akin to this http://rwapplewannabe.... but found pale, smooth chunks of pastry that looked like turnovers.

But I'd come this far and braved the creepy patron who was there at the same time, so I ordered a spinach and feta turnover (I just can't call it a croissant, and without a label I hoped that perhaps they don't either).

One positive: they use fresh baby spinach in the pastry, which is great.  But the feta was a HUGE chunk of salty cheese.  I never thought I'd say it, but there was too much cheese inside the pastry.  I'd had an idea of how bad it would be when I took my bag with ONE turnover and it felt like it weighed a full pound.  Everything about it was dense and chewy, not light and flaky or subtle at all.

They use Coda coffee, which is an excellent roaster. But since this isn't a place I pass often, I can get my Coda elsewhere.

There was a man on the porch giving free aura readings.  Inside they tried to convince me to try it.  On the way out, the man (who'd been on his phone when I entered), gave his pitch to me and another patron. There was no way I was going to sit on the porch to eat if it meant fending off a free reading, so I continued on my way.

Some might enjoy the atmosphere here, but it's not really my style.  And the "croissants" just made me sad.

Buffalo DoughBoy must be what keeps butter in business.
There crossiants and turnovers are so delicious I have to restrain myself from going all the time, cuz i might get the gout. On Thursdays they have free coffee and you can hang out they all day if you'd like. The space is cozy (read small) but nice and the front porch is a great place to read the morning paper.
