Dang, this place makes some fine brew! Went there for the first time about a month ago for the Orange Blossom Ale party. There was a band, there was food and there was brew. What more could you want? Oh, I know, how 'bout free? Yes, it was a great open house for a great beer celebration. Keep the brew flowing and go visit www.buffalobillsbrewer... to sample Hayward's/the Bay Area's finest micro-brewery!

I love Buffalo Bills.  It's been around for 25 years but it's only been popular within the last 7 years or so.  Their beers are outstanding!  My favorite brews [Pumpkin Ale and Blue Christmas (Blueberry Oatmeal Stout)] are seasonal and when they are available I go there quite frequently and often refill my growlers.

It's a fun place to go with a group or even by yourself for a pint.  They have a sampler set where you can try of their beers on tap for a very reasonable price.  The sampler probably adds up to a whole pint.  The food is pretty good depending what you order.  They have an awesome tortilla soup and their nachos rock.  Everyone one of their pizza is outstanding.  Their sandwiches and salads are slightly above average to me.  I think they should try adding other food options to their menu, I haven't seen their menu change in 5 years!

Overall, great local spot in an awesome downtown location.  You won't be disappointed at Buffalo Bills!

I've been coming here since it opened and have watched it grow over the years. Service is always good and so is the beer. I love a tall Tas after a long day at work. I usually order a salad for dinner. This is one place that when you order a salad you won't be hungry later (of course that tall Tas is a bit filling also), the salads are huge.

I've heard people rave about the pizza but when I've tried it (which hasn't been recently) I was rather disappointed. When I ate there this week I must admit that the pizzas looked better than I remembered so maybe there's been some improvement.
This is NOT a place to go if you're looking for a quiet, intimate dining experience. It's loud, busy and fun. Tip: If you're bothered by the noise try to get seated outside.

Buffalo Bill's is a local hot spot in Hayward that is mostly hype. I would never advise anyone go here for anything but lunch and/or a beer or two. The Microbrewed wonders that they make here really are every bit as good as a lot of the bay area's finest and the only reason for the 4th star. I can not tell you how often I used to go here just to get my beer fix. However, the service, atmosphere and food are way worse with the addition of the hype and the night crowd. The food in general isn't that great, but it's just lame at night. So there really is no use ordering any.

I have called ahead a week in advance to reserve a table only to have to wait 15 minutes when I got there. Once inside you can't hear a thing because everyone else is way too loud and sitting outside is too cold on most nights... so either way you're in a bind. There is a parking lot out back and across the street and down on A  and mission there are parking garages, just in case the street is full, (which it usually is) so parking is easy to find. Check it out, have a beer, or not and be sure you remember to yelp with your experience.

I've had lunch here so many times while I went to school at Hayward State that I didn't even need to look at the menu when i got there. I always order the chicken sausage pizza with marinara sauce instead of the pesto sauce. The food is so so. I think i come here a lot because it's Hayward and there are not to many choices to sit down and have lunch that isn't a chain. Buffalo Bill's is very expensive for who they are. $11 for a  burger is a lot. They put Cayenne spice on everything which I can't stand, and if i forgot to tell them to nix the spice it ruins the meal for me. The beer is not bad, I'm not a fan of beer so I'm really picky to start with, but everyone else i come with think the same thing. I like Pyramids better, but again, we are in Hayward. You gotta work with what you got. So if your in the area and hungry go ahead and spend some money at Buffalo Bill's, but if you can go to any other city to eat, go to that city...

I discovered this place when my daughter moved to Hayward to go to CSEB.  The softball coach recruiting her took us there.  Nice little bar atmosphere with a lot of tables both inside and out.  Good selection of sports on their wide-screens hanging up on the walls.  Being a microbrewery I expected the beer to be good; and it is.  They do have some weird seasonal brews like the Pumpkin Ale and Blueberry Oatmeal Stout (both too fruity and sweet).  However, their Orange Blossom Ale is very refreshing and tasty!  The Alimony Ale is also worth getting.

The food is above the average fare commonly found in a microbrewery.  Those tend to be expensive and ordinary.  BB has a really good burger, excellent club on awesome bread with applewood smoked bacon.  Their mini pizzas are tasty and have some variety.  Their salads are big as are their nachos with grilled chicken!  Also try their soups.  Two of us can eat for around $35 with one beer each.  It's probably a bit pricey, but well worth the quality you get there.

They only get 4 stars because of the seasonal offset of their really good oatmeal stout with the blueberry one.

P-Ale Rocks!  John is a sweetheart, but it just is not the same without the ole' crew there!  The transition from small to big was hard enough!  I know that was years ago and I have to get over it, but what's a girl to do!  I went from 4 nights a week to 4 times a year!  Life transitions too!  Mikey and Bob are also amazing Managers!  Not the hometown Pub I use to go to!  And sorry, Hayward is what it is!  What is up with the view of a concrete wall?  So sad...

This is a great place. I've been coming here off and on for about three years. The first time I came here, I was impressed with the beer. I got the sampler of beers, then decided which one I wanted with my pizza.
The service is pretty good, the staff usually remembers me and askes if I want my "usual" or something else. My "usual" being a pint of the Alimony Ale, a nice hoppy IPA style beer. Also, don't miss out on the jalpeno poppers! My wife & I almost always get those for appetizers. I also love thier pizza's. I only wish that they had more special pizza's once in a while...

I've been here only once, but that one experience made me a believer!

This is a great hang out. My boyfriend and I sat outside and watched the cars drive by, laughed at people acting a fool after having too many drinks, and just enjoyed each other's company and our surroundings.

We sampled some of their signature brews and yummy yummy yummy! We tried the Tasmanian Devil and the Orange Blossom both of which were good, so smooth and tasty.

For appetizers, we ordered the Aztec Quesadilla and BBQ Devil Wings. I love how they topped the wings off with cilantro. Then we shared the Garlic Tom Pizza which is a handtossed pizza topped with roasted whole garlic cloves, sundried tomoatoes and cheese. Delicious!

The only problem is parking, but with a great place like this, I don't mind parking far and walking.

Awesome experience. Will definitely do it again...

Great beer, great service, great ambiance AND great food! It's kinda shocking for all those SF folk who think the humble East Bay (and especially humble Hayward) can't roll with the best of em. The food here is surprisingly good, and the beer is actually amongst the yummier microbrews I've had. And I lived in Boulder, CO for three years, people. Definitely try to Red, Taz and if you like girly beer like I do, the Orange Blossom. I hear the darker stout types are good, but I don't really like the loaf of bread in a glass, thick malty beer shake like many others.  If you step inside, you can even pretend you're not in a strip mall with a copy shop next door, but at some cool new Southwestern brewpub you just discovered in the middle of Arizona.

I'm tempted to give it 5 stars b/c they even let you take 'growlers' home, a tradition I miss dearly from my CO days of haunting Mountain Sun Brewery.

This is a great lil place. I'm not much of a beer drinker but occasionally I want a really good beer and a great pizza, and this is the place to go (plus it's easy to get to, just off Foothill). The atmosphere is good the food is unique for a pub and prices are good. I recommend their beer sampler, so you can try a bit of everything they have to offer. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun and the outside seating is great on warm days.

I've been here once for dinner for TND (you'll know what that means if you read my reviews!).  The food was pretty good I thought and the reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of three like some other restaurants is because I think their beer is pretty good.  They have this dark berry type beer that's pretty tasty.  I have a friend who loves one of their beers and came once to buy their beer to go and he told me it was the best he ever had but it tasted like a Corona to me.  They do have a variety of beers you can try from, and the food is decent.  I would go again for a group event, probably not to take someone there to try it.

My friend used to work here so she would always bring home the beer. "Big jugs for sale" Oh yes, the beer is awesome.  Not bad for a little brew pub/restaurant located in Hayward (Land of the free and reckless). Not trying to hate too much, we all love you Hayward. ;)

Sometimes they have their annual car show in Hayward right next to the pub. Not too bad to sit back enjoying a beer in your hand with plenty of eye candy around.

Oh, I almost forgot the food talk. Food is fine here, but nothing fancy. I mean come on its only a pub.

Go, go and try some beer....

This place is great, i dont usually go to brewerys or pubs but this one a good one. Crowd is great any night of the week. The bar tenders and servers are great. They really know all the beers and explain what they all are. I love the Taz and the Alamoni beer, taste very good. Hayward doesnt have many good spots left to hang out in a good area, so i say this would be it.

Food: Typical drinking food, pizzas nachos. But you have to try the homeade super big jalapeno poppers. They are the size of donuts and they taste super good. I always get them when im there. Nachos are super big so always get those to share with your buddys. Buffalo milk is good too. Rich and creamy.

Service: Excellent very nice girls working there.

Parking: Weekdays is ok but weekends gets a little packed.

For a joint in Hayward this is the best you can get.

We were seated right away and service was really prompt.  They made sure we were doing OK through out the night.  We were given our food asap as well as our beer.  Nachos were a good size, pizza was tasty, as well as the chicken wings and the tomato soup.  I had the sampler of beers which was pretty good.  The atmosphere was a lot livelier than Steelhead over in the Peninsula.  Only downside is that there isn't much to do in the area once you are done.

This brewery is great. I love the food. Great salads and yummy nachos. The beer is really good too. That  why i go there the food is just a bonus. They often have a seasonal beer on tap and if you love any of the beers you can always have it to go, in a growler. It's a lot of fun in a group but if you're under 21 you'll be bored stiff.

The Jalapeno Poppers are ridiculously good. The difference I believe is that they bake the poppers in dough rather than fry them. They slice up the jalapeno, put cheese in it, wrap it in dough and bake it...  and because they bake it, it comes out much larger. Not your typical jalapeno popper, but rather something much better. The combination of jalapeno, cheese, and croissant like bread is very very good.

Always crowded.  Always loud.  Parking hard to find.

Menu is pricey, and food not that tasty.  They serve a mostly American menu with some dashes of Mexican influence here and there, but I found the food to be bland and unappealing.  They do have a good beer selection ranging from home brew to imported dark ales.

Hayward's shining star... Buffalo Bill's Brewery. Mmmmm... SO GOOD!! I have been coming here for YEARS and for as long as I can remember the food has been EXCELLENT. I can feel safe in knowing that if I ever bring a friend here who has never been, they will leave pleased. I know the Brew Master and he is quite passionate about the beer he brews here. A popular choice is the Tasmanian Devil Ale though I (yes, I am cursed) am allergic to hops (ouch!) so I like to order the Oatmeal Stout (which seems to make me sneeze MUCH LESS). When in season their Blueberry Oatmeal Stout is delicious! We usually grab a couple beers while we wait for our table because if you are here on a Friday or Saturday night... you will most likely experience a wait. This place packs 'em in. With good reason. Not only is the beer yummie but the food is divine. I LOVE the Plowman's Board which is a wooden cutting board covered with an array of cheese, fruit, salami and a baguette. Their pizza is really good too. The Buffalo Nachos are piled SO HIGH you can seriously share this with 5 people and be FULL when it's gone. The sandwiches are really good (seriously EVERYTHING HERE IS GOOD) but I will say that the bread is rather um, STIFF and hurts my mouth. :(  The salads are HUGE and perfect for an entree by themselves. They come with bread stick style croutons that are incredible. My favorite soup is their Tortilla Soup which they serve every Thursday and I will come here on this day of the week specifically FOR THIS SOUP. It is some of the best I have ever had! The deserts are superb as well. But the absolute BEST THING about Buffalo Bill's Brewery (because it is seriously THAT good) is their Oatmeal Stout Glazed Corned Beef (see pics) which sadly is ONLY served on St. Patty's Day. I YEARN for St. Patty's Day each year as I DREAM of this corned beef ALL YEAR LONG. It is lightly glazed with a sweet and tangy sauce made from their very own Oatmeal Stout. It is tender and literally MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. I wish they served this more often than one day a year but man, when they do serve it... rest assure I AM THERE. :)  So all in all, if you can handle crowds (cause I am not alone in my love for this place) then park in the lot in the back and enjoy this East Bay gem. We don't have much to brag about over here, but Buffalo Bill's fills that gap nicely.  :)

Bills has the VERY BEST personal pizzas around.  (They serve a lot of other stuff, but their pizza is tops!)  The toppings and all that aren't what make their pizza great, its the dough.  The boys and I are convinced they have added crack or something to their dough, because those pizzas are awesome.

PUMPKIN ALE!  I am not a drinker.  For me, its mostly a taste thing, but I love Bill's pumpkin ale!

This place deserves my 5 star rating.  Every Thursday night, is guy night for me, and 90% of the time, my friends and I will be dining at Bills.

All the portions are huge here - pizza, salads, sandwiches, etc.  For years, we would split a salad and nachos.  Now we're stuck on the burger, which is REALLY good.

We love the ciders, plus the 50-50 combo of "Taz-Red".  In summer, this is the greatest place to eat outside.  There's shuffleboard and it's completely casual.  There is a movie complex going in across the street, so I suspect that this place will be even more crowded when that opens up.

In short, good selection, decent beer, but I go here mostly because I live in Hayward.

this is a great spot to grab a beer after work on a sunny day and i also discovered for dinner! salad are YUM! I really like the citrus salad. if you like garlic, the garlic tomoato pizza is excellent (they'll leave the cheese off to make it vegan YUM) and the orange beer is my fav despite it being the least alcoholic.

the wait staff is very knowledgeable. it's like they spend hours studying flash cards of the ingredients. it's amazing.

everyone is super friendly from the staff to the customers so come on out, check out Hayward and visit the Buffalo.

This is a great place for a group.  Decent if small wine list.  Again, I'm not a beer drinker so why do I end up at so many brew pubs?  Both patios are pleasant, I love the open-air feeling inside during the summer months too.  Staff is friendly & professional.  Prices are reasonable and portions generous.

Everything I've tried on their menu is awesome, except one of the full meal salads and I'm sorry I don't remember which one.  Tres leches cake ooh la la.  My favorite thing to get is the half sandwich with either a cup of soup or a half salad.  Anyhow, I get half a reuben with salad and it's a fine meal.  On the reuben, the pastrami is tender and plentiful, the bread tasty and crisp.  The half-salad would be a whole salad anyplace else.

I do wish they'd change up their menu from time to time...add a daily or weekly special maybe.  I used to go here a lot and finally had to give it a rest because there wasn't a whole lot of variety, food-wise.

This is the only semi-hip place to go for lunch or dinner in Hayward.  The atmosphere is laid back and fun, the decor is comfy and the staff is friendly.  I get cravings for the nacho appetizer and HAVE to go to Buffalo Bills where I down immense proportions of chips, cheese and black beans with reckless abandon.  Hubby gets the vegan pizza (with cheese) but he really goes for the beer.  I'm not  a beer drinker so I wish they served something harder or perhaps a cider.  Other than that, no complaints.

One or two people wrote bad reviews for this spot and everyone else seemed to love it. Either the place is great and two people have bad taste or everyone else is caught in the hype this place may have gotten.
To find out I went here on the weekend. I went with some friends, to try out some yummy food. We shared:
Aztec Quesadilla, Devil Wings,Caesar Salad, Garlic Tom Pizza, and the Jambalaya Pie.
The Aztec thing was the best of what we ordered. I could see how it could be good but the cheese wasn't melty enough, the wings didn't taste right, and the salad didn't have enough dressing and the veggies seemed wilted.
The service was inattentive which was surprising since we were friendly and understanding of when the food took a long time to come out. One point, our server did not come out to see how we were doing for 20 minutes.
The food would be a half star if I could give that rating, the service would be a negative star as service was indifferent.
The decor was nice. But that cannot save this place , the beers were average to awful.
We all had 2 beers a piece. Those we tried were Orange Blossom, Tazmanian Devil, Alimony Ale, the hefeweizen, stout. The stout seemed thin, while the hoppy goodness we hoped to find with taz and alimony left us wanting. They were not as hoppy as offerings from other top brewpubs in N. Cali.
To sum it up a cute brewpub with average food, lightish beer and poor service are not a good thing. I'm new to the area and am sorry this was my first taste of microbrew in the golden state.

Three words - Chicken Sausage Pizza.

The staff was enthusiastic and cheerful in a way that made the group say - "Wow, the waiter is excellent!" (Until he got wrapped up in the football game a little too much)

The waiter was very helpful in picking out some favorites from the menu as well as recommending portion sizes.

The devil wings (buffalo wings) were lackluster and maybe even undercooked, but I was HUNGRY so no 'real' complaints there - and come on, they're buffalo wings.

I enjoyed the Alimony Ale and the Tazmanian Devil ale, chatted with the waiter about the pumpkin, blueberry and cream ales being contract brewed in Portland.

We split three personal pizzas, the Sicilian, Buffalo and the Chicken Sausage. All were pretty tasty, the Chicken Sausage (along with a friendly staff) are why I am going 4 stars. I will definitely be back to do some more tasting.

I agree it's a little overpriced but its a microbrewery - and I understand why food is a LITTLE pricey.

These guys have plenty of seating inside and outside. They also have a solid selection of micro brews to choose from. The atmosphere is pretty laid back. All in all, Buffalo Bill's is a pretty chill place to enjoy a brew.

Pretty loud and social on a Friday Night, they only serve wine or beer, so you have to be a fan.  I ordered off the appetizers list and the selection was good.  The only difficulty of the night was trying to order the drink at the bar.  Music was mainstream 90s and early 2000 - pretty cool.

lucky they have a in house brewery, because this place is not good! their food is bad, and the menu a joke! plus, they may want their "chefs'"not to come out onto the main floor with huge stains on their "chef" jackets, gross!!!!!! terrible, maybe go have a beer there, but nothing else!!!!
