Good beer, decent food
The poppers are a true guilty pleasure - wrapped if puffed pastry - yum.
Nothing else really stands out.
It is nice place to go for lunch a nice day, enjoy a beer and eat outside. -

I was not impressed with Bill's burger, as it was dry, tasteless and for $11.25 I would of much rather of had an In & Out burger instead.
Skip the food and enjoy the beers instead.
Its a good place to hang out with a group of friends, but the food isn't that great. -

In the mood for a ricochet red so stopped for a sandwich and beer with hubby. We'd been here many times, but not for awhile.
The service is friendly, yet sometimes inattentive. Always seems people are rushing here and there but taking awhile to get their plates delivered, etc.
Wish they'd use a different type of bread for their sandwiches. That baguette type is so tough on the teeth and doesn't leave much room for the ingredients.
Tends to be a bit noisy, so just amp up your voice.
Would go back for the beer but skip the sandwich. -

What the hell, Bill's? Did you change owners or management? Are you cutting costs? What did you do to your menu and why?
I had several favorites there and they are all gone. Your veggie burger (which was wonderful) is gone and in its place is some sort of bean-burger that is barely edible. And I know my previous post I said that I wish you had fries. But I didn't mean the frozen kind.
I was a frequent patron, Bills. In my group of friends, I was always the one who sang your praises when others wanted to eat elsewhere. Despite your hit-or-miss service, I stayed loyal because I liked your food and your beer.
Now there's just the beer.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Blueberry Oatmeal Stout: Excellent. Flavorful? Uh, yes. Maybe I'll get a pitcher next time.
Burgers: Delicious. Simply delicious. They were juicy and well-grilled. Unfortunately, the sauce used on the jalapeno burger was only mediocre. Not even spicy. The bacon and onion burger was amazing though. Too bad the side of fries that comes with it sucks. Fries tasted like limp pieces of cardboard.
The rest of the beers (ricochet red, tazmanian devil) and ales (strawberry ginger) were good too. I wish the prices here were a little cheaper, overall. I don't think I want to pay 12 dollars for a good burger and have crappy fries with that. No thank you sir.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Hayward, CA
The food here is comparable to an Applebee's or some other American chain restaurant. Their menu is small and the food is pretty bland, so don't go in here thinking you're going to be getting anything special. The only upsides to Buffalo Bill's is that they brew their own beer and the atmosphere is pretty laid-back and fun: you can come in with a big group, watch the sports game, play the salt board game (HA- don't know what it's called), or sit outside on the patio which is pretty lovely on a sunny day. The only time I would really recommend to come here would be during the summer for the B Street fair, when the big windows are all open and the place is overflowing with people enjoying beer and the street fair ;)

I've been to Buffalo Bill's once and the food was decent. We decided to go there for a late dinner. We wanted to sit outside in the front since there didn't look like there were too many tables. They appeared busy Waitress pretty much forgot about us even though there was another table sitting next to us who was just about to leave.
When we got our food, my fries were stone cold and the burger was luke warm. After we were done eating, the waitress didn't give us our check. I thought she was super busy so I went inside to remind her we still existed. Boy was I surprised to find how empty it was. After finally getting my check, we just left. I was tempted to just bounce but she probably would have never noticed. I'd go again because sometimes people have their off days. -

The new menu is ridiculous. They've taken away great items and made portions on favorites much smaller - particularly the poppers. We're done here, thanks.
And the staff? No personality, no smiles, no joke. Bills needs to get it touch with what it used to be.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Hayward, CA
It was always pricey, but with some changes to the menu the food isn't worth the expensive price tag. Not sure who this new owner is, but he/she has some work to do. Now it is just overpriced salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas.
And charging 75 cents for a small (seriously, like an ounce) thing of ranch is just pissing people off. When I asked for ranch, the waiter never said it was going to cost me which would have been nice of him. When we are paying around $12-$15 a plate for a salad, sandwich, or burger then there shouldn't be a charge for a condiment.Listed in: Top Restaurants

I've been here a couple times now and I been pleased with the drinks and food both times. It's weird to say it, but compared to other places like it, the menu seems a little short, but what they have is pretty varied and of good quality. They have some healthy stuff, some not-so-healthy-stuff, pizzas, burgers, etc. But, something for everyone. In addition, their beer and wines are exceptional.
The service is ok - no complaints. Additional disclaimer - I've only been here for lunch, and haven't yet made use of the full bar. -

This place I will remember for the cute baby at the next table.
This place was pretty busy..and as my cousins said a few times pretty noisy
Obviously this place is for its alcohol...too bad I dont drink.
I got to try the bruschetta and a pizza.
The bruschetta was burnt and weak. Total waste of money (you should be embarrassed serving this BB)
The pizza

3.5-to-4 stars.... Excellent location, GREAT beers, good service, food is decent depending what you order, lots of heat lamps for the outside seating when it gets cold at night but since this location is on a busy street, expect waiting for a table on a friday/saturday night. Not the best place for big groups unless you get there early enough.
I just like coming here for a black & taz and calling it a day. -

I am HOOKED on the Orange Blossom Cream Ale!!!!!!!! It is very light, aromatic, and refreshing. Perfect for the warmer months of the year! I tried it for the first time at a tasting party a couple of years back and couldn't get enough. I am going back for a jug this weekend, matter-of-fact!

Review from Niall M.
When I lived in Hayward came here a fair bit but not for the beer. Buffalo Bill's was California's first brew pub and you would think the beer would reflect that but it does not. Oh, their beers are not bad but there is not one on their menu that I would go there for. If all I wanted was a beer I would head to the Bistro down the street which has a great selection of beers at better prices. The problem is that The Bistro has a very limited (but not bad) menu and the food at Buffalo Bill's is pretty good. Very good pizza.
Four stars for the food, two for the beer averages out to three. -

The "vegan" pizza is NOT VEGAN! I was super bummed to hear that there are eggs in the crust of the vegan pizza. I just called Buffalo Bills today and the server put me on hold and confirmed it with the kitchen staff - there are EGGS in the "vegan" pizza.
He said they are updating their menu soon and will take off the "vegan" pizza. So lame. No reason for me to go back.Listed in: Vegan Hayward

Hayward, CA
Ok, so it's a brewery...in Hayward, but still one of my favorite spots in the East Bay. Easy access, good beer, brewery food. Everytime we dine there we say "we should come here more often" because of the beer and atmosphere. A good mixed crowd, but oftentimes it seems to be filled with CSUEB students. Their waitresses are always pretty hot, but they seem to get younger every year (no assholes, it's not me getting older).
We went in for a quick bite last night...just me, wifey, and her friend Babooshka. We ordered several appetizers and a pizza; here is a quick recap of the food:
- Nachos = delicious (loaded with jalepenos and other goodies)
- Kobe sliders = very good (the bun is really good, like a pretzel bun)
- Margerita pizza = so-so (very plain but their pizzas are tasty in general)
- Buffalo wings = marginal at best (basically tasted like a unseasoned grilled wing)
Ok, so we don't go for the food. Our hot little waiter (name started with a "V") was very fast and attentive and immediately brought out our drink order: wifey had a glass of wine (lame at a brewery), Babooshka had the sampler platter (she's Chek so you know they drink a shitload of beer) and I had an Orange Blossum (pretty gay sounding but delicious PLUS I was the DD). As always, NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER on the drinks! Since I've had the sampler platter about fifty-hundad times, I had recommended it to Babooshka and she enjoyed it (I think there were 5 samples at like 4-5 oz each).
Out of there feeling completely stuffed with 2 hammered chicks for only $130 after tip. Not bad.
So, my personal favorite beers at BB's : Pumpkin Ale (seasonal), Orange Blossum (seasonal), Hayward Hefe (representin' fool), Richochet Red (nice), and Oatmeal Stout (heavy but'll get you shitfaced if you can handle it). -

My girlfriend and I love to make the drive to Buffalo Bills from Fremont. We went last week and we always share the nachos then split a few other items.
Our waitress informed us that the owner had changed the menu. The nachos are now gross! They use cheap pumped out nacho cheese! Im sure most people would be willing to pay more to have it done the old way! They also removed a few of the salads that we like to get. It's really sad because this place used to be awesome! I'm giving Buffalo Bills 2 stars right now, the old Buffalo bills gets a full 5 stars.
Please change the menu back! Or at least the Nachos!
The Beer is Awesome though! I always order a Red Taz! -

Need to update my original review from a few years ago. This was one of my favorite hangouts. I still like it but it seems as if it's losing some of the magic. It's getting hard to get in to often. And while trying to expand and diversify the menu they are screwing up items that made them great. An example this place had the BEST wings around. In an attempt to appeal to "more people" they have radically changed how they make them. As a result they are now just awful. I still enjoy the red and stout, but the motivation to come across the bridge is a lot less.

Came here on Super Bowl Sunday and to my surprise, the place was pretty much empty. I didn't actually mind that since I was there to really just eat.
Food: BBQ Devil Wings - not actually that spicy and it didn't taste all that great. I was really hoping for some spicy wings with some celery sticks and blue cheese dip, but NOPE. Just regular ranch minus the celery sticks. Buffalo Poppers were good. Basically, melty cheese is always a good thing! Caesar salad with chicken was a big portion. The chicken actually had taste to it and the salad wasn't completely dunked with dressing.
Service: They did come by often enough to refill our glasses and when asked, they also turned the fan off for us. With all those fans running in there when it's practically empty doesn't really sit to well.
Bottom line: It's alright. It's ok. It's got beer and pub food. Go figure! -
Review from Mrs. M.
San Lorenzo, CA
Such a disappointment.
1) The taps are more often than not dry. How can you be a brew pub and have nothing on tap?
2) When there is a limited selection on tap, you never know what you'll get. The beer is consistently inconsistent now.
3) The prices have gone up.
4) When we've asked what's going on there is no explanation. Mr has tried to contact the owner/manager and has had no reply.
We look back with fond memories of Buffalo Bill's. It's too bad we won't be making new memories there.4 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Fairly standard brew pub here. The highlight is the selection of locally made beers. The food, while not bad, is nothing to write home about. Extra bonus points for the outside sitting area although I do wish they had a few more TV's for us, sport nuts. This place does get packed so be prepared to wait during peak times.

This has been a great place to go to, until the last couple of weeks when they have changed their menu and upped the price on everything. Don't you think this is a bad time for this??? Plus, what happened to the nachos - where is the good cheese topping you used to have. Runny cheese, UGH. Can get that from a can and what's with the lousy salad - hardly anything in it. Come on guys, forget the greed or you are going to lose a lot of your loyal customers.

I'm so confused right now seeing all these good reviews. This place is L-A-M-E! Finding parking sucks for starters. My service was less than decent to say the least. Over priced and under qualified.
First, Who serves chips with burger? Its weird.
Second Black Chips? This ain't Chevy's
wooooh the prices were step on a sandwich....
Sandwich taste nasty? YES
Slow motion to say the least.
Maybe I went on a bad day, Ill give them the benefit of the doubt for service sake. That doesn't change the fact that a party of three all ended up with meals they didn't finish and thought was gross.
This place is highly overrated. They make it look nice, but really all it is, is a knock on BJs Brewery. -
Review from Casey S.
As a brewery, Buffalo Bills excels. There are some mighty fine beers here, including their notorious pumpkin ale -- a brew my friend bought a whole case on the spot out of sheer love for the product. Him being slightly drunk probably had something to do with it as well.
But Buffalo Bills the restaurant just doesn't have that atmosphere I'm looking for. It feels too crowded for a pub, too plain for a restaurant, and too expensive for a regular hangout.
Yet I still keep coming back... -

Ok people THIS IS A BREW PUB and should be judged as. While it has some short comings name a brew pub in the 9 bay counties that has none.
I just finished a pepperoni pizza & a mighty fine tasting Taz. Sitting outside on this fine saturday you would be hard pressed to find a better place in a 10 mile circle to do this.
So if I was to suggest a few items to Improve upon
1. Please bring Alimony back to the tap! Come on now!
2. Lose veggie bob with the burgers.... Try frys or even chips.
Other than that you have the whole brew pub thing down. -

Review from Justin C.
It's probably Hayward's best bar ut that doesn't mean its actually any good.
The beer costs about 1.5x more than it should. It's Hayward for gods sake. $7.50 for a pint is too much for the demographics. It's okay beer but nothing that blows your mind.
They have a nice selection of beer for all types of palates but none of them have made a positive impression on me. I honestly don't know how some people can even ingest some of these horrendous Man-Law breaking beers. (Never fruit a beer)
Oatmeal Blueberry Stout. Are you kidding me? Disgusting.
Pumpkin Ale. Heck no, its just gross.
The food is fresh and prepared well but it is also 1.5x more than it should cost. I want some simple cheap pub food with my beer. Gourmet nachos are not necessary. Once again, look at your clientele, they don't want to spend an arm and a leg in Hayward. The nachos will easily feed two hungry diners, three if they're just normal hungry. They are massive. Don't even think about getting a doggy bag, they get too soggy.
The place is always packed and trying to get a beer is a hassle unless you're sitting at a table. The bar is always overwhelmed and understaffed.
I really want to love this brewery, I seriously do. I want to drink more local beer but this place needs to start bettering its brews and cost less.
EDIT: Apparently, I was overcharged. Beers only cost $5.75. Something I might take up with management, but probably won't.Listed in: B Street Bar Crawl

Eh. This place had a very lively atmosphere on St Patty's evening which was cool. It took a while to get a table, and our waiter throughout the meal was kind of slow with service. We got the "special" corned beef with Stout glaze which sounded great, but turned out to be a CHUNK OF FAT with just a tiny bit of meat. Good thing there were a few things on the side like small potatoes and onions and carrots or else I would have left starving.

Yummy pumpkin ale beer and blueberry oatmeal stout! Super flavorful and sweet!
The Tasmanian was also very flavorful and not too sweet.
We ordered the nachos and bruschetta. Both were decent, nothing special.
If I ever end up in Hayward again and need a place to go, I'd probably come back and chill here. I wanna try the seasonal orange citrus one when it comes back in spring! :) -

The food is just ok, but beer is something to talk about! I love the orange blossom beer and yes it's probably geared towards women as it is fruitier and much smoother to take down. I also love their IPA - Alimony Ale which off the tap was amazing. Overall if you're looking for something different to drink and are into local brewed beer this is one of the few places that shine out of Hayward.

Came here to meet up with a few good friends.
Cheddar burger (So good! Moist, tasty, it hit my burger craving. so large i could only eat half)
Hayward hefe (who knew they brewed beer in hayward?)
Aztec chicken quesadillas. (Super yummy! the dish is covered in paprika though. the chips and salsa i ate off my friends dish was yummy)
Broccoli cheese soup. Pastrami sandwich. (Solid pastrami sandwich with good saurkraut. the soup was good, a bit salty though)
