This place is beautiful. Plain and simple. We were planning a trip to Buffalo and I really wanted to actually see some sights. How often do you come across a botanical garden?
This place has plants of every type and color (and the majority are inside) and the majority I had never even heard of (like the "miracle plant"). There are also a few outdoor gardens (by the way, the orchids were my favorite and I got the chance to take TONS of macro pictures).
I'd say that this is a must see to anyone planning a trip to or around Buffalo! -

This is a decent but pricey place. We bought a family membership with a groupon so it us a good deal for us, but I hesitate to recommend it to others because of the cost. I like the desert room and my toddler loves the koi pond. Around Christmas, they have a train display, which I found unimpressive but the aforementioned toddler went crazy for it.
For us, this is something to do on a cold or rainy day. If you live or work nearby, it is a good place to have lunch, read a book, or even get some work done. They tables and interspersed throughout and encourage you to bring food in. -

This place is great but a bit expensive for what it is. I mean it cost me $24 for Wife and two kids, and one got in free. Might be a bit more worth the money in the dead of winter to go and see some greenery in a nice 70 degree environment, but I wish I could take the fam their for under $20. Might be willing to go more often.

What a truly magical place to have a wedding! It's so lush and green and. . .botanical, like a tropical getaway. Also, when it's 2 degrees in Buffy, it's 75 degrees in the gardens. I love moist heat on a cold winter day.
The married couple said it wasn't difficult to book, and you can bring in your own caterers (unlike most public venues in Buffy, which use Oliver's)
I hadn't been here since I was a wee little girl, and now I will definitely be back for an alcohol-free visit. -

I would go here every year with my family in the Spring, when the winter weather would get to be too much to bear. This place is one of the gems that Buffalo has, full of brightly colored flowers and plants. One of the things that always stuck out to me though was the Orange tree, I always thought it was funny that it was probably the only Orange tree in all of Buffalo.
The building itself is beautiful to look at and the surrounding park is a nice place to visit when the weather is warm enough, to have a quick picnic or play some frisbee.Listed in: Exile, Museums and Gardens, or let's…

I just officiated a wedding at the Botanical Gardens on June 21. We had rehearsal there as well. The staff was fantastic at helping us choose where to place the chairs, the set up of the groomsmen,, etc. They were also on hand the day of the wedding to direct us if we needed it, and keep tourists from walking through our wedding.
I have been here several times before and have always enjoyed going. The place has been remodeled, so there's even more to love!
I highly recommend having your wedding there, or even just going in to see all the flora. It's a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. -

I love the gardens.
As a kid, my dad was not into sports etc..but loved growing stuff. We had a kick-ass back-yard ( no really..it was cool w/ plums, figs, Chinese chestnuts, apricots, basil, roses, and more..IN BUFFALO, NY!!)
Anyway
We went here often w/o the dinosaurs they have now.
I was not a kid that loved the whole "growing of plants" thing, but I liked this place.
Weird. It had a "white noise" hum of the fans, It had smells of earth and vegetation. or flowers etc. It was TRULY organic, and you felt it in a way that was not necessarily logical.
It was rather, instinctual, like smelling the water at the shore. Moist.
It was an artificial peaceful and beautiful space.
I think about the times I spent there often, with a smile on my face, and I use this image of the gardens as a "peaceful place" when I can't sleep.
I just remember the sounds of the fans, the smells of the vegetation, and the beauty of nature. -

A beautiful place to come to view flowers bloom, and enjoy the calming waterfall as you walk along and view pretty flowers, reflect on things, and grown inspired to be one with nature. Many green houses filled with more colorful flowers and plants I ever dreamed existed. All the while it's not overbearing for the less versed in the Flower world as me.
I never thought about going to a botanical garden and so glad I came to this one. I am now inspired to find a similar refuge in Boston that willl proivide the peace and tranqulity that this placed provided. -

First of All.....the Century Plant is about to Bloom, 70 years early! These plants are supposed to bloom once in one hundred years and die off leaving little sprouts to carry on. Our Spring delayed the blooming so I am popping in frequently to check and see the event first hand.
Membership is not expensive and pays you back after just a few visits. The Gardens have been going through a repair since the County took over and each visit shows something new and promises of things to come are so exciting.
In addition to the gardens, there are events that are for anyone, but of course reduced cost to members. Concerts, wine tastings, lectures, even Santa Clause amid thousands of Christmas Flowers.
This is the most wonderful place to go and have a picnic indoors during a snowey or freezing Buffalo day. See you there! -

What a great place, and perhaps an unappreciated gem in Buffalo. The restoration job they've done on it, its gorgeous and the plants are spectacular. Really nice place to go for a couple of hours and feel like you're halfway across the world.
The century plant may be gone now, but I'm still going to definitely go back again. It's a nice inexpensive idea for an afternoon date. -
