We recently made a visit to Buena Vista Furniture and feel in love with many pieces they have in the store. We purchased a beautful plasma wood stand for our home.
They carry all types of different styles of furniture. I tend to like dark woods from bali, so this place was a great match for me.
The Owners are a very genuine husband and wife. When I asked for something specific they pulled out catalogs to try and show me what I could order.
I'm saving up for my next return... -

I was perusing the PB catalog this evening and was instantly grateful that we bought our buffet cabinet from Joseph at Buena Vista Furniture, earlier this year. This piece far surpasses anything we shopped around for. On top of that, Joseph custom designed our drawers and cabinet dimensions and designed it exactly to our liking in a medium brown stained Chilean Pine with iron trim. The drawers are on metal sliders making their movement effortless.
The service and communication was outstanding as was the price. We are delighted with custom buffet in our newly renovated "old world" kitchen.

With so many furniture stores to chose from, I was really looking for quality. I didn't want to walk into some generic furniture store and see the same, ugly junk. I search, everywhere and came across Buena Vista Furniture. OMG! I checked out their website and was immediately convinced-this is what I was looking for! They are open Sundays, so I decided to take a drive there. Diana was busy helping customers pick and choose different options. She made eye contact right away and that was #1 in my book! She was easy to talk to, had many suggestions, and took her time in helping find just the right pieces. We were interrupted by a pickup order, and she even helped with that-muscles! Needless to say, I bought some great pieces- mirror, 2 couches, bar table, and a chest.
Delivery was a sinch too. The guys were timely and really easy to talk to. They took their time and made sure no walls were damaged. I even received a phone call from Joseph, the owner! WOW! No generic place would take the time to do that.
I HIGHLY recommend this place, even if you only go and check things out. They have some beautiful stuff and if you don't find what you are looking for, the have catalogs for you to look through.
I will be going back :) Thank you Buena Vista. -

Joseph and ruthie are some GREAT human beings and have ONE OF A KIND quality furniture for every taste and BUDGET! I have known and shopped with them for at least 8 years and still have the beautiful couches and picture frames I have purchased from them. I gave my first set of couches to my Mother when I renovated our first home and have moved 5 times since and they're still in AMAZING condition. I always get complimentson our couches and pictures from our friends when they visit. We have two children and still have stood up to the family life!
I always recommend all our friends to visit their site and locations and KNOW that Joseph and Ruthie will take great care of them! I actually see them as my friends as they remember who I am the few times I visit them. Which reminds me, we will be moving to a bigger apartment and will need a bedroom set... looking forward to seeing my old friends again! -

Just finishing up this review I realized never finished since writing negative reviews is not a favorite past time but has to be done.
Last Sept (2010) started looking to buy to a good quality wood antique bed. I did find a few online but really didn't want to buy a bed I couldn't see before getting delivered. I found Buena Vista on a search and called them to ask if they had wood beds. They said they did and we trekked out to check it out. Joseph (owner) was in the store when we saw a couple of nice wood beds. He said we could get a wood bed custome carved in Mexico. I was really excited and in the store decided with Joseph what we wanted bed to look like. He said all is ok but in my excitement, never asked him what kind of wood the bed would be made of, so 10 minutes later after leaving store called to ask and he said Pine. Pine is a soft wood and since I wanted a wood that was more durable/hard we discussed it and worked it out. Joseph said it would take about 5 weeks until we received bed. Well into 7 weeks, no word of the bed and I wanted it by December 21st before my family came for Xmas. We called left a message at business and now return phone call for a week then called back again. After all of this, when bed finally arrived in showroom went to see it and the headboard and footboard did not match even though this piece was supposed to be custom made. All we got was a "so sorry about this and don't know what happened" so ofcourse I wanted a full refund. It was unfortunate that the customer service is lacking there because they did have other pieces I was interested in. -

We recently purchased a unique, quality Leather Couch with Ottoman for ~$900 total + Free Delivery. Lot's of furniture options available from this family owned and run furniture in El Serreno. Floor items are interesting to peruse, but don't forget to consult staff for all options - catalog and custom built items are available at cost that beats other furniture stores and Ikea.
Delivery was free, on-time, and efficient. Our couch is the bomb addition to our new home. -

My girlfriend stumbled upon this store on one of those home improvement shows, not sure which one, but I'm sure I have neeeeeevr seen it! OK, maybe..
Anyways, we have been looking for obscure places to decorate our new house and boy did we luck out here! They have a lot of very unique and interesting pieces that work well with our vision. Some of the larger furniture are absolutely gorgeous and hand-made with intricate designs. For us, however, we are just looking for small pieces and were able to find a few things that worked for us. Prices aren't outrageous, and most of the stuff when we went was on sale, which was very cool. They are super friendly and were more than willing to answer our questions. From the website it didn't look like we would like anything, but there is an interesting diversity of products. I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone! -

I recently had the best dining set shopping experiences thanks to Buena Vista Furniture!! Their customer service is absolutely outstanding, furnishings are far from bland & boring, and prices are inexpensive. This absolutely is my favorite furniture store!!!
After going to over 20 stores in Hancock Park, La Brea, SFV, Pasadena, Monrovia & the Westside, I never imagined I'd find this gem!!
It's hard to miss this store because it's in a warehouse-type building painted bright orange-ish with thin yet tall flags attached to the top of the building that read "Buena Vista Furniture". The flags are very unique and definitely make the place stand out. Parking was easy with a great big lot on the side of the building and lots available on the street.
Immediately entering this family-operated store, a woman who looked like she belonged on the cover of magazines instead of behind a counter greeted me with a big smile and wave. She wasn't wearing cocktail hour attire instead jeans but she is very beautiful. My first glance around and I knew I had left veneer heaven behind. This store is big, high ceilings, bright, airy and cool although it was so hot outside. I knew exactly what I wanted so I went to straight to the supermodel-looking woman and told her. She introduced herself as Ruthie. Ruthie had several options to show me in the store, as well as pictures that were emailed from another location she has on Main Street in Orange, and even online from companies that she purchases from. All the pieces Ruthie showed me were absolutely beautiful and to my liking. This store sells a tons of home items from iron switch plates, statues, furniture for all your rooms, etc. Most of their furniture is real wood and made in India and Mexico but they do have items from elsewhere as well. They have many different size items as well. If you're looking for something you don't see in the store, ask. I would be very surprised if they couldn't get it for you.
The dining room set I liked was at the OC store and I had only seen pictures of it so I went the next day. The OC store is smaller than the LA store but still packed with goodies and many items different than the LA store. I arrived midday and there were lots of people. Ruthie was working there and was able to juggle lots of people with ease & give each tons of attention. I fell in love with the dining room set I had gone to see.
The set I purchased is made of reclaimed wood and to my amazement it was the exact table I feel in love with when I saw it at a store on La Brea. The price on La Brea was $1500 and did not include chairs. Buena Vista Furniture wanted $700 for the table and $150 for each of the unique chairs. The price of the table and 4 chairs before tax and delivery came to $1300. Tax was approximately $100 and all other furniture stores I've asked about delivery, charged approximately $100. Realistically, my grand total should have been $1500 but Ruthie gave me everything for $1100!! When I was in her LA store the day before, she mentioned that if you "check-in" on yelp, you receive 15% off. Not only did I receive 15% off but over 25%. If you've looked for dining room sets, you'll know that the price I paid is very inexpensive, especially for reclaimed wood. Another great perk this store offers is a 90-day layaway. I'm not sure how much you need to put down and how it works but Ruthie did mention it.
The day my furniture was scheduled to be delivered I went to the LA store during my lunch break. I was curious to see what buffets they had to match. I wasn't ready to buy but curious. I met Ruthie's husband Joseph and Joseph's father. Joseph's father was very sweet and gave a welcoming hello upon entering. As Ruthie had done, Joseph showed me many, many buffets. Joseph spent lots of time with me showing me pieces in the store as well as online. On my list of things to purchase were 2 statement chairs and Joseph kindly carried various chairs towards the back of the store where my table was to see how each looked.
My furniture was delivered in a very timely manner as promised. The delivery men were very careful with not only the furniture but my walls as well. They made sure I was completely satisfied with the placement of the furniture prior to walking out the door. They were extremely kind & professional.
At Buena Vista Furniture you'll not only find a wide array of home furnishings & products but also individuals that provide outstanding customer service. They'll take their time and provide you with a zillion options if you request until you're 110% satisfied. Being indecisive, my friends & family lose patience with me. Ruthie and Joseph were beyond patient and kind. Ruthie is so sweet, soft spoken yet confident and made me feel as if I was shopping with a friend and not a sales person. They both definitely have a classy decorator's eye. It truly was such a pleasure to do business with them and I look forward to many future purchases!! -

This place is cool. I almost don't want to review it so it doesn't become to popular. The prices are reasonable and the quality and uniqueness of the furniture is worth a drive just to browse. Plus the customer service is great.

Absolutely love this place - my heart jumped when I entered their store. Great mexican/spanish eclectic furniture at great prices. The owner is fantastic, flexible and provides lots of options. Also they have catalogues you can order from - VAST selection of great-priced furnitures. If you couln't find a deal on La Brea, go to Buena Vista.

I'm always looking for stores that sell furniture and decor from Mexico, and I found this one thanks to Yelp. A good selection of furniture, art, talavera, religious art, and other assorted decor. I was able to finish my holiday shopping here on my last visit, and plan on going back soon.
The best part happened when we were packing up the car with our purchases. An older Asian woman who was obviously wearing a huge diaper under her thin white pants got out of her car and asked us for directions. -

Great spot to find unique Mexican items for your home. We purchased our dining room table and chairs here when they first opened. I must say that our piece is my second most favorite(aside from my flat screen tv) in our house. Also, the pieces are of great quality and craftsmanship!
This stuff is pricey but its not like you can find it anywhere else in LA. In general, the cooler stuff looks, the more expensive it is. We haven't purchased any other items recently but we will be looking for a hutch or dresser to compliment our dining table. I wouldn't buy everything here cause I wouldn't want my house to look like Zorro's Hacienda! Beside, my house is built in 1040 and is small. Most of today's furniture just doesn't fit.
Definitely check it out, its worth the ride. I would give it another star but I am on a Target budget now. Keep on Yelping! -

Located on the outskirts of Alhambra, this Mexican furniture store is hidden away amongst car repair joints and mini manufacturing places. The furniture in here is gorgeous. And made from real wood. And made in Mexico. They carry talavera pieces as well and they seem to change their inventory often so they tend to have good sales every now and then. You can't miss the store when you drive by: the store is a bright orangey-red and they always have this giant chair outside by the front door. And I mean giant. They also have one of a kind pieces and they can special order items for you. Parking is available on the street.

LOVE this store. The selection is fantastic and the customer service was perfect. The furniture is unique and appears to be well made. The furniture is not limited to Mexican or Spanish styles. There is also a great selection of furniture from Bali and India. Highly recommend this store and cannot wait to purchase some furniture and decorative items. I will definitely return when I can narrow down what to choose :)

An amazing place! We just brought home some great pieces and I had to comment. We found this place via Yelp and it lived up to the other reviews. Unique art and furniture but more importantly very nice and helpful owners. They knew exactly what we were looking for and when we wanted something different than what was in the store they offered to make a custom piece at a reasonable price. Warm, inviting and great quality furniture. Plus I loved the Dia De Los Muertos art!

Thank You Yelpers for recommending this store!! I shlepped to Alhambra & I was in heaven! i was remodeling our home, spanish/mexican style, & it was simply perfect. lots of items to choose from. I purchased some tile mirrors, & I can't wait to go back. As if that wasn't enough, the very helpful & patient, salesperson recommended a restaurant a few blocks from there: The Red Hot Kitchen, it's Korean/Mexican food, it was simply amazing! I had a wonderful day, Check it out

A friend of mine is moving and was looking for a few new, quality pieces of furniture. She read a review of Buena Vista Furniture, Inc. on YELP and we decided to try. The store offers a good selection of quality pieces, lots of Dia de los Muertos decor, and a variety of Mexican/ Latino styles. I loved the large iron lamps! The staff is friendly, and lets you browse in peace, while at the same time making themselves available for questions. Chris was working the day we went in, and he was able to answer all questions we had. My friend bought an absolutely gorgeous, dark stained dining table w/ 6 chairs. Chris made my friend a great deal on her purchase (including a YELP discount). They offer a layaway program and delivery for a small fee. Its a family owned business and offers a nice shopping experience. Plus, Chris gave us a great suggestion for a fusion Mexican/Asian taco joint down the street, and offered to burn us a copy of the sweet cd they were playing in the store! Oh and by the way, the price and quality of my friend's purchase completely blew away anything remotely similar we could find at Cost Plus.
