I love farmers' markets, and even though I live in Buena Park, today was my first time venturing over the the BP Mall, where the market is held every Saturday.

My first impression? Bigger than I thought it would be. I got all excited, thinking about all the produce and goodies I could peruse. When I got out and started walking around, my excitement quickly deflated. There were lots of tents, but less than half of them were actually selling food. Most of the tents were jewelry, clothing, accessories, and the like. While cute, it's not what I'm looking for when I go to a farmers' market. I like seeing FARMERS, and fresh, organic produce.

I didn't really like the look of most of the produce there, but I still needed some veggies for the week. So, I picked up 3 corn for $2, 2 pomegranates for $3, 3 pack of strawberries for $5, a half dozen eggs for $2, and a bundle of spinach + a bundle of kale, for $1.5 each. (Avg prices, a couple things were overpriced imo.)

They also had many food stalls, including crepes, tamales, gyros, Asian fast food, and more Mexican food. I didn't get anything to eat, as it was a bit overpriced and probably unhealthy, but the Asian food stall was giving out samples of their juice and oh my god it was so yummy. Apparently it's all from fresh fruit, and naturally sweetened. The guava was so good, but I ended up getting the taro. $3 for 12 (or was it 16?) oz.

My experience was a bit damp, as I didn't really find what I was looking for, but the atmosphere was great, there was live music, 2 guys singing/playing guitar, and there also pony rides! Great place to take the kids on a Saturday morning :)

I come here every Saturday for in-season produce. There's a good range of vendors for the size of the market. There's one vendor that has the largest bulbs of garlic I've ever seen, another with great asian herbs & veg and another with a range of produce so large that you feel like you're in a grocery store.

We eat a lot of produce each week and I usually walk away spending about $35 for the entire lot. To the people who say they get things cheaper at the grocery store: sure, you might get something cheaper at the grocery store but how far did that produce travel? How old is it and how much nutritional value has it lost sitting on the shelf? How was it farmed? Have you ever *met* the farmer that grew anything from your grocery store? Would you rather put your money in the pocket of the grocery store shareholders or a local farmer the produces healthy, in season, non-GMO produce? I'll happily pay a little more for that.  Not to mention a lot of things are much cheaper.

This market is also in the mall parking lot so it's a good excuse for me to hit DSW to try on shoes before buying tomatoes :)

This farmer's market is in the North West parking lot of Buena Park Mall on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. It's very small but fun to walk around.

They have veggies, fruits, eggs, honey, nuts, dried fruits, jerky, flowers, crafts, pottery, jewelry, rasta guy, and more.  Some prices were great some prices were not, but it's still helping out the little guy and not the big union grocery store.

I have to dedicate a few lines about the Mediterranean guy.... oh man. His "mom" supposedly makes everything from scratch. He has hummus, tapanade, goat cheese, sheep cheese, feta, amazing sundried tomatoes, garlic spread..... it costs A LOT but oh man is this stuff great. I can't help but spend a fortune at this booth.

Food here kicks ass. They have BBQ, sandwiches, Chinese food, Filipino food, aqua frescas, bacon wrapped hotdogs, Peruvian food, Tamales, tacos, burritos, boba, even Belgian fries. I had the lomo saltado at "The Hungry Inka" which was cooked to order. I was sad to see they don't have a fryer so no french fries in the dish but flavor wise it was one of the best lomo saltados I've ever had. Tender beef with loads of flavor. Aji sauce was a bit weak though for the rice. Nice touch you can get a fried egg on top. Donna had the bacon wrapped hotdog which she said was "meh". The Chinese food guy has awesome drinks which you can add boba too. No sugar, everything sweetened with honey. I had some sort of green drink made of different green veggies.... sooooooo good.

This place is bigger then I expected but to be honest, the prices of the products were just as expensive as in an upgrade grocery store.  Lots of places to eat though and live music.

Nice way to spend an hour - they even have fresh flowers. But my produce died pretty much the next day.

It's small but has all the necessary farmer's market stuff: pony rides, crafts, produce, homemade products, etc... They might not have very many selections for each section or the best, but they have them and it's the only one in the area that I know of...

I'm not an expert on fruit prices and such but I do know that my momma gets a huge bag of cherries at the supermarket for less than 3 bucks and the cherries here cost so much for a much smaller amount. There were some really interesting merchandises but they cost so much, I'd rather go to a regular swapmeet to get the same thing for cheaper.

It was an interesting walk around nonetheless but there weren't many shops/stands.

This will be a short review because I didn't get a chance to try everything. I went over there to buy some fruits and veggies.  Everything looked really good! For a few bucks, I walked out with tangerines, asparagus, avocados and a drool when I saw the crepe booth.

The best part is all the free samples of fruit. I even got to sample a tomato. By the time I reached the hot food booths, I already had my fill of fruits & veggies.  This  kept my diet on track!

Next Saturday I'm gonna use my cheat day for those crepes, the spinach & cheese looked yum! A Harley run to the farmers market sounds like a good time :)

The BP farmers market is every Saturday from 10-2.  It's not large, but there are some good finds.  I get the goat cheese from a greek fellow there... it's spectacular.  The produce varies widely... some of the most giant leeks I've seen, some is not so great. There is one of those giant inflatable castles that children and jump around in...so if you have kids, and you love for them to smell like urine...check it out..oh, yeah, and there's a few petable animals and a pony ride...

One of the best reasons to check this out other than the 18-26 calories you will burn walking from one side to the other is the catered food stalls...there are crepes, BBQ, italian sausages, tamales, and a few other things...have not eaten there, but everything smells great...and food on sticks / paper plates is better than food handed to you in a paper bag...it's a fact!

When the weather is HOT, HOT, HOT the veggies go BAD, BAD, BAD. Okies, not bad, per say but there was a lot of wilting action. It would've been a lot better to have gone earlier in the day when it was cooler. Plus, the assortment of veggies would have been more grandiose?
But it wasn't my fault! T_T The boyfriend slept in and snored the early morning hours away. Sooo... when I showed up it was a sweltering 90 some odd degrees and the selection was so so. It was so hot even the little goats were stoically staying in the shade no matter how much the kiddies beckoned.
Even so, the market was a tiny one then what I am used to going to back at home. And the selection, though varied, wasn't too exciting for me. I'll try again (earlier in the day next time!) or try another one during the week.

It's a small Farmer's Market.  I went a few weeks ago with cash in my pocket and came away with bags full of fresh strawberries, raspberries, blue berries...you get the picture.  Also, I got a couple loaves of bread, cookies, and snacks and that all barely made it through the weekend.  My family loved it.

I also bought some lotion and bath products, I could not be happier.  Of course it could be bigger, but it is fresh fruits and vegetables for a great price.  Can't complain.

    I will definately return.

Open Saturdays from 9am-2pm. If you get there past 1pm, their is not much left.

I love visiting the Strawberry vendors at the East Corner. If I don't visit them regular they actually asked to where I have been.  They tend to be very sweet. I prefer them vs. the other ones who sold vegetables too, because the others put the less ripe ones on the bottom of the tray which as very upsetting..

They sometimes have a basket vendor that sells misc baskets from $2-$10..great for organizing your house or using as gift baskets.

The other vendor I like is the Asian vegetable vendor where almost everything on the table is $1. Great for making stir-fry or soup.

Other than that everything else is so-so. A few times they had a petting zoo and horses that walked around a circle. It was like $3 to do either of those.

Oh, the flower person has average prices for a farmer's market. I like it over all better then the Fullerton on one Thursday as far as "vegetables/fruit" being sold.

It's good for those who live in the area. But NOT worth driving to. Not very many vendors.

I go to the Buena Park Farmers Market most Saturdays. The honey is really good, and I along with some produce, I almost always walk out with a bag of mixed roasted nuts from Totally Nutz and cookies from Chochie's Exotic Cookies - their kona cookies are out of this world, the aloha cookies are also very good.

Hi, my names Jackie and i am the cookie vendor at this Farmer's Market. I have to say this market offers a good ratio of farmers, crafts, Hot foods, and provides great entertainment and a friendly atmosphere. But like with any market we do have some weeks better then others in regards to foot traffic but the great thing about this location is we're close to Knott's Berry Farm and get customers from out of town. As a vendor, we appreciate the support you give to your local farmer's markets.  :)
