Bud's gets a lot of my business because it is the closest liquor store to my apartment.  There is NOTHING WRONG with a liquor store a block away from your front door.

They have a decent selection of liquor in large and small sized bottles.  Wines are arranged by type.  Champagne is separate.  And there's a cooler in the back to get pre-cooled white or champagne.  What I don't like is the ridiculous liquor laws in TN that do not allow regular beer to be sold at the same place or packs of smokes.  WTF Tennessee - get out of the 1800s already.  In TX I could buy wine at the gas station for God's sake.  I digress.

The greatest thing about this place is the people are actually very happy to work here - they will carry your purchases to the car, they will help you pick out some expensive champagne, they will call you "urban explorer" when you walk over with a backpack to carry your purchases instead of calling you a "hobo" (thanks), and sometimes they will even card me so I feel like a young lady not quite old enough to drink yet.  Thank God I am though and thank God Bud's is nearby!!

You can find cheaper prices on liquor in other parts of town, but if you're in Green Hills for a party Bud's is your best bet. Reasonable prices and the staff usually has a joke for you or will ask where the party is and if he's invited (that did happen once).

They sell booze, reasonable prices.  Staff helped me locate a wine from a vineyard that I used to love but had changed their brand.  It's a little bit small, but packed with almost every booze I could want.  Not much room for improvement.

It also used to be a great supply location for cardboard boxes suitable for moving books... or booze..

If I'm in the Green Hills area and need to buy liquor, I head over to Bud's.  They have a huge selection of liquor of all kinds--wine too, but for that I would go next door to the Green Hills Wine Shoppe (see my review on that store).

Prices are decent--comparable to other stores in the area, but the service here is great.  You can always find someone very knowledgeable to help you find anything you need.

This is a good liquor store, with basic staples and a good wine selection. If you're looking for a rare or hard to find liquor, this probably isn't your best bet. But for your run of the mill liquor, stop and and they'll have what cha need. One of the guys there actually recommended a sauvignon blanc that I like so much I've been back several times for more!

The do have a few specialty items such as sake, high end vodkas, and fun mixers. So get the party started and go to Bud's!

This is a great little wine and liquor store in a convenient spot. I mean, until Tennessee repeals its antiquated liquor laws and we can buy wine in the grocery store, at least you can walk to this place after you do your shopping at the Green Hills Kroger right around the corner.

The staff here is super helpful. It seems like there are always lots of sales clerks running around and manning the counters. I've never had to wait long to check out, and there's someone on the floor to point me to where the rieslings are. They have some great deals on wines (I'm usually looking for bottles around $10). The liquor selection is fine as well. As Katherine and Robin said, this may not be the place to find something exotic, but it's a solid liquor store. I never come out empty handed, let's just put it that way.

I love that a place calls "Bud's Discount Wine and Liquors" tries to be a classy place. With a name like that, you just need to accept yourself for what you are... The neighborhood liquor shop. Or else change your name. Bud's is actually a nice place, despite the name not really giving you any indication. Convenience is the reason that I go here. It's right behind Kroger and across from The Mall at Green Hills. They have a good selection and it's reasonably priced. You can park right in front of the store, so you will be in and out in no time. The folks behind the counter usually have something clever to say, which is fine. They also update their LED sign outside fairly often, which is helpful for me, so I know exactly when the Beaujolais Nouveau wine comes in each year.

Again location, location, location. After a pseudo hard work out at the YMCA, there is nothing that appeals to me more than a bottle of wine and TV, and Bud's like a beacon of light always seems to pull me in. For a small shop, Bud's has a great selection of liquors, and a good but wine section. The staff is always friendly, and I seem to be in and out of Bud's in 5 minutes flat. So if you are looking for grab and go on your way home, Bud's is a good stop.
