Got a low price from budget. The truck was in good shape. The really liked the staff we dropped off the truck to in Sacramento. Having such a nice person to meet when first moving to a new place felt like a good omen.

Rented a truck here a few weeks ago. Made the reservation online and called 2 days prior to confirm. The lady working there wasn't very pleasant. She tried to convince me to get insurance on the truck by showing me pictures of wrecks and saying that my credit card/auto insurance wouldn't cover any damages. It almost worked, but since it was a local move, I decided to take a chance.
The truck I was supposed to get had no gas. Apparently, gas gets siphoned out of the tanks very frequently since it's located in a not-so-nice part of town. The only other one available in that size was an old scratched up truck with high mileage that was dirty inside. Kind of gross, but whatever. It did the job.
Get a 15% discount on the truck rental. Pick up one of those address change envelopes at the post office. There's a coupon inside! -

*Update* I looked at my credit card the next day and got DOUBLE charged. I about flipped my lid. Had to argue to high hell to get it taken off and am still trying to get off an over charge of $62 that they initially overcharged me. They promised to take it off two weeks ago, still waiting. Called corporate, they didn't bother to get back to me (they too promised they would) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Moved in a new spot downtown last week and used a budget truck. I wish I would have read the first review more carefully before going to Budget, but I had a coupon, and I'm always a sucker for coupons. Damn coupon cost me hella money.
I got my billing statement today and immediately called up the budget at the overcharge.
The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the man on the phone just now was nice and polite. He explained in detail all of the charges, where they came from and made sure I had no questions about anything. The truck was fine too.
The reason they get three knocked off is because of one particularly BOGUS charge.
They charged $40 because we didn't bring back the tank full. No problem, except for we did. Topped it off and everything. And he says the next morning the tank wasn't very full at all...
and a random charge we were never informed of.
I really thought I'd been taken hard by Budget until I read the first review.

Yeah....
So I know that people bitch about rating a place negatively based on location, but if your damn location cost my ass my hard earned money then you need to fix the FUCKING problem.
