DO NOT RENT HERE: I guess Budget Rent-a-Car is on such a BUDGET that they won't even TRY to provide good customer service.
My fabulous Vegas trip was ended in tears because of this company.
It started out just fine. Becky, the manager, was the one helping me, and she was friendly. I told her how I had a family member who worked for the company in Hawaii and we chatted a bit. It was a very quick and easy process.
When I returned the car a few days later, I was a little late (less than an hour) because of getting off work and frantically finding a gas station that wasn't too busy so I could return the gas to "full." I was charged not only a $18 late fee...but a whole extra day's worth of insurance. The employee told me that there was no way he could waive it, but that he would speak to the manager the next day. I left in tears. I didn't give up hope yet though.
The next day I returned to find out the disposition of my fee being waived...also with a voucher that my family member (the Budget employee) gave me to use for 35% off. I was told by the manager that she spoke to the District Manager who was UNWILLING to waive the late fee or the insurance. On top of that, she did not accept my voucher since I was told I had to present that at the time of rental. She would not even try to talk to the District Manager about that one.
The only reason this place does not get only 1 star is because my pickup experience was fine, so I am doing my best to muster up any sense of respect I can find for this institution. -

I rented a small SUV in location, when I went to pick up, they wanted to give me a Kia Soul!! They said that is a SUV. I reserved the car on the Hotwire site and the example of small SUV was Toyota RAV4 of Ford Escape. They both are substantially bigger than Kia Soul. This place didn't have anything but Kia Soul for SUV... I took the car to OC airport Budget and after a long argument they change it with a RAV4... Their customer service is a 3rd world standard. NEVER rent from these people again.
