this is the worst place I have ever stayed at in my life. The doors wouldn't lock unless you put a knife in the door jam itself to keep it closed. So many different kinds of drugs there it is ridiculous, again worst place ever please dont go there.

Hmm...not sure what to say. It was free...even at that point paying for a place would have been better. If your looking for a vacation into the past at Buget Inn you'll be welcomed to the 70's with old broken beds, a draw bridge, backwoods ass creapy lady of the night type people. Don't take your shoes off you may catch something. Besides all the creaky floors, old showers and questionable patrons the owner is nice and the front desk person was also nice. It's a place and it's cheap, expect that.

Is it still there? Lived in Grand Forks 1956-1962 as a small boy. On our last night in NoDak we had nowhere to sleep so we stayed at Westward Ho. I still have a matchbook from that stay. There was a small zoo there at the time and in the morning one of the chimps got loose. The staff were trying to coax it out of a tree. But we never found out what happened. We climbed into our 1960 Parkwood wagon and drove away East, away from the Great Northern RR and our beloved Fighting Sioux!

Although it was several years ago that I stayed at this gem, something tells me it really hasn't changed too much. This motel is really unusual. There's a definite old west theme going on here but somehow, it must have never caught on while more well known chains moved in and pilfered their business. The Westward Ho has quite a sprawling complex with several single story buildings and hundreds of rooms but we seemed to only be among a handful of daring travelers to give it a go. But hey, maybe that's all part of the old west theme because it quite literally did feel like a ghost town. Price wise, this is a good place to stay as our room was around $30 for the night. It was fairly clean as well but all of the springs in the bed were shot so it definitely wasn't the easiest night on my back. Also, the pipes made moderately loud pounding noises throughout the night which at least woke me up to change positions thus sparing some mercy on my already shredded back. All that aside though, I would stay here again. It may have seen better days but let's face it, at prices like this, you can't be too picky!
