Joe deBettencourt promised my Honda Pilot would be ready to be picked up after having it for 10 days. When my husband and I arrived, from off island and by taxi, Joe was no where to be found. The car was wedged into the back of an unpaved lot surrounded by junk cars. It had apparently been sitting there the entire time. When Joe did arrive, he was unapologetic and told us we would have to "figure it out" for ourselves where we could spend the next 2 hours waiting for our car to be fixed. The shop is in an area of Oak Bluffs not easily accessed except by car. It was a 50 degree, gusty day so we walked up and down the road and sat around on a jersey barrier for 2 hours while Joe proceeded to unload tires from his truck before he started work on the car. He was surly and rude for most of the time we were there, but offered a reluctant and cursory apology at the end -- right before he presented the bill, which had not been reduced in any way for the extreme inconvenience and physical discomfort we experienced.
