I have never had a bad experience here!
The food is really good, the bartenders ROCK and Karaoke on Saturdays make this place a regular haunt for me. They also have darts and a pool table.
I recommend the Hot and Sour Soup! The best I have had.
See you there! -

I LOVE BUDDHA'S!!! And greatly miss them since we have moved to the South Shore. Whether we order take-out or eat-in... it is always hot, yummy, and filling.
They have recently revamped the inside and it looks awesome. We have gone to Buddha's for New Year's Eve for the last 3 or 4 years. While most places have a wait and a limited menu, Buddha's has neither. We are always seated once we arrive. And they have a full menu.
I want Chinese food now! :(Listed in: Couch Potatos!

My bf lives on the North Shore so we're constantly looking for cool places to visit. Buddha's Tavern is one of our new favorite digs.
For those of you who have ever been here, you're probably laughing and think I must be classless. How can a Chinese American gal in her right mind love this Americanized joint? Well, for starters, I have yet to eat here. The boy and I actually stumbled onto this place when we tried to go to the Irish pub on the corner for some beer and darts and realized a. we were too old for that crowd, b. it was too dark to even see each other, and c. the dartboard hanging on the wall was inaccessible because the tables had been pushed against the walls to make room for the dance party that seemed like it was about to start.
Disappointed and still on a search for a pool table or darts, Buddha's Tavern down the street beckoned at us with its neon lights and name. I am Buddhist after all so why not? Upon entering this tavern that was clearly not home to any Buddha my mom prayed to, we were pleasantly surprised to see cheap beer specials, a pool table, AND darts that we could actually get to! A jukebox, video game machines, a waitress who called us "honey," Keno, Scorpion bowls, and Chinese zodiac paper placemats completed the picture. The boy and I also noticed we were now two of the younger patrons . . . nice!
We walked to the side room where the darts and pool table resided and were literally the only two people in the room for almost two hours! There was nobody to bother us and the waitress checked on us quite regularly. It was great because we both suck at darts and played the longest game of darts in Peabody history methinks and nobody cared. The drink tab was ridiculously cheap too.
We will definitely be back to try the food and when we feel like having a low-key but fun evening!Listed in: Just chillin'

Parking sucks, the Keno is cold, and we're sad to see that the booths got tossed from the bar during the renovation. Still, this is the only place we'll go for Chinese (American) food on the North Shore. For years, it's been consistently tasty and competently prepared. Recommend the lo mein and pot stickers.

I love this place! Of course it helps when your friend owns the place. But that said it is basically a great sports bar with Chinese food! In fact I'm heading up there tonight (from Framingham) to celebrate my birthday!

sadly the owner has let this place slide downill. food was once great but the lack of customers would make me think twice about freshness of food. the last two times we ate, the food was tasteless and bland and drenched in grease. ordered lo mein and got undercooked spaghetti. i sent it back and they took it off the bill. hearing rumors that they are overcharging for alcohol probably to make up for lack of business.
