Spent 3 days fishing in "The Backcountry". Had a great time! Caught over 200 fish, probably 30 different species!! Awesome! Had dinner each night. Wow my back is sore! HA!
I stayed in the efficiency above the tackle shop, it was great having a front row seat to the boats coming back off the water and the captains filleting their fish for the customers out on "our" huge deck! Thought the breakfast area would be too loud my days I had the chance to sleep in, nope, the crews keep it pretty quiet early. Free Wi-fi! Good appliances and A/C.
Needed some special requests met and the staff were very accommodating, great time, will be back! -

BnM has been my fishing home for more years than I care to count. The staff there has always been very friendly and helpful but they must be putting something in the water. I have never ben treated so well in my life!! Everyone when out of their way to be helpful and exceptionally nice. I was very impressed. As always the fishing was exceptional. The weather was very strange. A low pressure system stalled over us and the days remained so overcast I didn't even wear my sunglasses. The rooms have been redone and are very nice as well. I couldn't have been happier at a 5 star hotel. Thanks BnM's for another awesome trip. See ya soon!!

I have done a number of party boats across the country and this one is tops. We were constantly fishing and moving. We spent a good 5 hrs or more fishing Good captain and mate. $60 is a deal.
Tip: the best action was at the back of the boat. You have to reserve that spot months ahead.
Also, the cafe is pretty good. Best (and only?) homemade biscuits and gravy in the keys. -

Enjoy great fishing but avoid captain Rick. His website features a 20ft Sea Craft and the opening lines from his website: The 20' Sea Craft is very comfortable and can handle 3 people easily as opposed to some of the smaller flats skiff used by many guides. She as modern electronics including radio, GPS, and more!. Unfortunately Rick showed me and my so to an old beat up 17ft skiff type boat that had one rickety seat and absolutely no electronics, not even a radio (this boat was worse than the smaller flat skiffs used by many guides that he mentions in his website). He made me buy my own ice! As to the beat up old boat, I was upset but Rick was completely unsympathetic and responded "you complain too much, I'm not taking you fishing." This was his response knowing that it was my son's 14th birthday and this trip was his gift. Rick lacked any basic customer service and did not even attempt to apologize for the boat issue, made no attempt to advocate for the boat and never attempted to assure me that we were going to have a great fishing day on this boat. The offer of a reduction in the price of the trip or offer of a discount on the next trip would have gone a long way, but Rick made it clear that he couldn't care
We drove to the fishing grounds and Rick baited two rods and simply handed them to us. Not a word was said. He didn't ask us if we had ever fished before. Didn't tell us where we were or what we were fishing for and I had to ask for this information. One would think that a fishing guide would have a love for the sport and the Keys area and attempt to educate. Rick just drove from spot to spot and spoke only when spoken to.
We had a wonderful day of fishing and caught lots of fish, including at least 6 sharks. But Rick, as a guide, had nothing to do with that. There is no secret fishing ground and all the guides go to the same places. So if you book a trip, speak to a couple of guides and find someone with a passion for the sport and job. But avoid Captain Rick, who makes you feel like he is being inconvenienced and has something better that he could be doing. -

We, 4 of us, went out on the Miss Islamorada on Aug 29th.
Check-in at 9, underway at 9:30. Actually on time, except for a man and his son being (UN)fashionably late, the boat was ready to go . For the Keys, being on time for anything is a surprise.
The boat was clean, showing a lot of daily use, and definitely seaworthy. The crew was great. The Captain and Mate were everywhere at once helping everyone. There was plenty of bait and chum, fishing gear and advice.
If the results were slim, they moved the boat. The fishing was pretty good bringing in Yellow Tail, Grouper, Grunt and a 5' cuda that was actually as tall as the little boy who caught it. The crew stayed with him to give the best opportunity to land it.
Upon return, on time also, they cleaned the fish also.
Definitely a "do-again" trip. And this from someone who has been in Florida most of my life and lives within minutes of the Keys.
Try it, you'll love it. -

Went deep sea fishing with the Real McCoy Boat (Captain George) from this Marina and had a great time.
The crew apologized for it being such a slow day. We caught 10 mahi-mahi, 1 Red Snapper, 1 Yellow Snapper, 3 Bonita fish, and about 3 Baracuda just for fun towards the end of the trip. Makes you wonder what a busy day is like?!?!
I was pretty sad that we were not able to catch any sail fish though. Apparently it was not the right time of the year; however, the crew gave it 110% effort in trying to snag one for us. They even put out kite lines which were attached to the fishing rod and bait in the water, which was actually one of the coolest parts of the trip. -

I bought two dozen PIn Fish ($1.50 each = $36.00)... put them in my bubbler... they were dead by the time I drove 4 miles back to go fishing. DON'T buy you bait here. Go to Caloosa Cove at MM 72.5 Oceanside.
