Bud Lilly's was one of the many reasons I was drawn to West Yellowstone. I read Bud's many tales of fly fishing throughout the West Yellowstone and Madison drainage and dreamed of coming here one day.
I finally did make the trip last summer and beelined for Bud Lilly's as soon as a arrived for flies and requisite information. I was not disappointed.
The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgable and enthusiastic. The fly selection was excellent. Plus they had all of the additional gear items I would need to fully outfit my adventure...including bear spray.
I spent the next week fixated on that damn bear spray, expecting a monster grizzly to pop out of the next clump of brush....and could I get the safety off before I was scalped and fricaseed? Anyway, I had a great time, thanks to Bud Lilly's, even if I never did see a Griz...
