Review from Karen H.
I love buckhorn! I drive from davis to here, and it's definitely worth it!
Although their prices can be a bit steep, we love going on Mondays and Sundays.
Monday is the rib-eye special, so instead of paying $30-something, it's only $21! (granted the piece is smaller, but still). The rib-eye is so delicious!!!!
And my personal favourite is the sunday "family" meals where you can pick two entrees plus a mini-side for only $13.99! Talk about a deal!!!
I really love how the dress for this place is pretty casual, and everyone is so nice!
Also, their cheesecake with strawberry syrup is delicious! yum!
Will definitely come again! -

I came here for the first time randomly last Wednesday. I was expecting an over priced so-so slab of meat. Turns out on Wednesdays not only do they have an 8oz sirlion dinner for $9.99 they also have 1/2 price bottles of wine!!! We had the coconut shrimp which were very good with a sweet sauce. The bread was fresh and served with real butter. The salad was sub par, but that didn't really matter. The steak was yummy, and I added blue cheese crumbles to it for just 0.99. There normal priced meals were a little pricey but looked like they would be worth the price. I would like to go back and try their prime rib. Our server was very prompt and nice. We never had to ask for a drink refill or anything else. The booth we were seated at was large and comfortable. I can't wait to go back next Wednesday for more yummy steak and 1/2 price bottles of wine.

buckhorn is probably dixon's best BAR...i didnt realize people actually use it as a grill...lol...but maybe for lunch ya. i usualy dont get in there till after 8pm, when it is not serving food...but lots of booze!
owned by a family freind of mine...Rich...very cool guy.
its a block from my parents house, so thats a PLUS. but even better is their new buckwild SHUTTLE!! if you live in dixon, enjoy a ride home safely on fri/sat nights =) just ask....
the atmosphere varies greatly night to night, during the week they have more low key, less population, things like kareoke night, weds and thurs i beleive, and card night (tues?), usually on the weekends is obviously the busiest, but occasionally on a friday night it is still ok. im not a big fan of the huge dancing crowd...myself...but if you like the club scene with live music/DJ tahn fri/sat nights are for you ;)
its gets very busy, so busy sometimes i can barely walk through the place...to get to the smokers patio. lol. i like that they have 2 patios (only one you can take your drinks out with you however) and the shuttle. key points to the buckhorn.
bartenders make good drinks, try and AMF or a sunkist shot.....very good here. -

I had the clams, and the rib eye steak. Everything was pretty awesome the only complaint was the amount of gristle on the steak. For a ribeye it was a little much. I will definitely be back next time I think ill try the elk steak.

Tried this place for the first time. They don't open up until noon. I had the new york steak sandwich for lunch at $9. It was fantastic! The wait was a little long, but worth it. The fries were piping hot and the steak sandwich was basically a big steak between a toasted hoagie roll. I didn't care for the lettuce and mayonnaise on the sandwich and think it could be served with A1 sauce. This thing was hay-uge. The bartender Annie said "you won't go away hungry" and I thought, "yeah, right", but she was spot on. The steak was about 3/4 " thick and cooked medium. If you're a blue-collar Joe six-pack guy and want a place to get a big piece of beef, here's your spot.

Came here one night to watch a friend play on Poker Night (which I believe they have Tue and Thurs). Plenty of people there on a Thursday night, but not packed. Seemed like everyone was friendly and having a good time. I'd go there again but I'd have to drive home :-(
