Review from ELITIA L.
New York, NY
Bob Buchmann is an old BAB jock and rock'n'roll Long Island charity kinda-guy. He's still crankin' out some good "Garage Rock" on Q-104; not the raw, fuzzed-out tunes of the late sixties, rather the classic rock that's been playing on the radio in my dad's garage since the early eighties. The Radio Grill is a cool-looking room, hung with Buchmann's rock and roll memorabilia (ala the Hard Rock (or at least the Jukebox) Cafe). Pub-styled food, + wraps, salads, broiled fillets and steaks. . .. had the wings which were okay and hit the spot. Pool table, MILFy bartenders, $4 Coors light bottles, $5 drafts of Bass and Blue Point. Happy hour with cheap drafts and free buffet. Karaoke on Thursday nights with Tony. .. . his book has everything. Some fool did an irony-free, horrible rendition of "Turn on your Heartlight, " and another beefy dude also seriously tried to get "With Arms Wide Open" right. . . I don't know if that can be done by anyone, especially when a old B&W picture of Hendrix is watching down on you.
This place is good, has live bands on the weekends, and draws a nice crowd, but its always been a little too formal. . . you just want to break a pint glass. For those who consider Billy Joel a true rocker. -

Radio Grill was a great place to meet friends and listen to great music, but sadly, it has been out of business for a couple of years.
