Buchanan's Coffee Pub
13 reviews for Buchanan's Coffee Pub
SOLID! One thing that is amazing is that it works as a proper study, get things done area, but they also actually serve incredibly good coffee.
One thing about SF with WiFi Cafes... they either sell the coffee, or the wifi, but rarely come together in a joyous combination. In this case... it does.
I have seen this coffee shop through multiple owners, and the new one is amazing. Things are clean, the staff is sincerely friendly and the coffee is consistently strong without being bitter. They also have Moe's bagels that they can make into a fabulous bagel sammich for ya. Lox? Egg? Bacon? Your choice. Plus, it is mere steps from the barbershop that I work at. An easy decision for me to head on down. Friendly faces, wifi and a patio. What could be better?
An independent coffee shop on the hill near the CU Boulder campus. Well lit with a nice outdoor patio. Often difficult to find a seat as this is definitely a place students camp to do their homework. The coffee itself is just OK, which is why I took off two stars. If you're a coffee shop, you've got to serve great coffee, even if you do have a stellar atomosphere.
I have been going here for the past 6 or so years. I have had to go dairy free in the past month I order a mocha and he said you want it with soy? Considerate people, especially because I was so tired I had forgotten. Great drinks and gluten-free food baked goods.
Well naturally lit coffee shop that is destined for homework. Now I can't guarantee that the homework will be completed. The espresso drinks are strong, and they are creative with the choice on the menu. the pastries look excellent, and the also have other snackies to purchase.
I love coming here when I'm in the area. A great place to chitchat and gossip with one to 4 people.
I'm gonna have to differ with my man Vince about Buchanan's, this is not your typical coffee shop.
It's independent! ("So what?" I hear you think, cynical reader. Okay, I'll tell ya!)
No burnt Starbuck's beans, and the vaguely annoying people who patronize Starbuck's. Only real coffee is sold here.
Real atmosphere. Huge windows and a patio over looking the hill and the mountains. Honest to god velvet couches that didn't come out of the Starbuck's homogenizing warehouse.
A nice mix of real people. Heavy on the studious students.
Several different varieties of non-coffee drinks: 2 kinds of Ghirardelli hot chocolate, steamers, Italian sodas, smoothies and a wide selection of teas.
Excellent and inexpensive pastries.
Free Wi-Fi.
My favorite time to come to Buchanan's is early in the winter when we're all still fascinated by the beautiful magical quality of falling snow. Get a cup of hot chocolate, sit next to the windows, and enjoy the weather and the comfort of a hot drink.
While I am tempted to give this a good review solely because it's right by CU Boulder and it's not Starbucks, I personally think that anyone would be better off going to Roma's or even to Pearl Street for some caffeine. Their foofy drinks are too foofy, coffee sucks, and they always "accidentally" overcharge me- it puts me in the awkward position of asking for money back (shouldn't happen so often!). But the plus is that it's right by Guggenheim/Econ buildings at CU and it is an independent place to grab some coffee between classes!
A must for your morning coffee and treats on the Hill. Wifi and people watching are the fringes. Across from The Half Fast Subs and easy lot or street parking. Nothing against Starbucks, they only wish they had this location. The owner takes your order, a true sign of a business well run.
One of Boulder's classic coffee shops. A place where you can find students, transients and CU professors mingling together. (No kidding, I had a philosophy prof who said if we needed to see her outside of office hours we would likely find her at Buchanan's.) It's also connected to the city's best piercing place, K&K, which is a plus.
Great atmosphere and a colorful location make this is a place of legend (can't complain about being across from the Sink), but at the end of the day it's your typical coffee shop. But, bonus points for location and color.
Great place to study and good pastries but I'll pass on the coffee. Go up a block to Espresso Roma for that. If you're a tea person this place is good too.
Above all else though, this is a great study place. Big windows, a great space, free wi-fi, and a nice little patio when the weather is nice.
All in all, a nice spot. But if you just want coffee, go elsewhere.
I have to agree with everyone else. They have nice big windows with a lot of light, good coffee at a good price along with some food items so you don't have to leave your studying to grab some food else where. Since the new owner has taken over it is a more relaxed atmosphere. They even added some more outlets so we can plug in our computers. The deck makes for great people watching which distracts from the studying :-)
No review of Buchanan's? God, that's just not right. This is the coffee shop that other coffee shops should take notice of and desperately try to copy, but never quite make it. The staff is cool and the drinks are delicious - the fruit smoothies are thick and sweet and the white hot chocolate is like someone distilled the clouds of heaven into a savory winter treat. They offer free wi-fi with purchase, the only drawback being sometimes it's hard to find an outlet. This place was even better when it had the upstairs room, because it was a great, home-y lounge in which to study for finals, but I think they've rented that to a business now. Still, you can't beat it for going with a study group, hanging out with a friend or sitting on the porch in spring, watching people cross Broadway from the uni to the Hill.
good space, college girls.
