My favorite neighborhood tapas bar. I've had the same server, Kylie, each time I've been there, and she's not only adorable and conscientious, but so knowledgeable and thorough. Her wine recommendations are always spot-on for me. I have enjoyed many of the tapas here, one of my faves being the (expensive, but worth every penny) pine-nut crusted scallops with celery-root puree. These are heaven on your tongue and in your belly. Also a fan of the roasted brussels sprouts. My date had the bacon-wrapped dates and was hardly able to speak he loved them so much.

Great place I will be returning to very frequently.

Food was authentic and delicious. Priced around $10-12 per plate. We had the grilled asparagus, calamari with squid ink drizzle (!), wild boar paella (chock full of boar and chorizo), and bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Sangria was not very good. I don't know what they're trying to do, but it seemed like mostly fruit juice from concentrate. Agree with the previous reviewer who called it a smoothie -- thick in texture and opaque. No fruit inside. Small "pitcher" is pretty small, but didn't mind because I didn't want any more of it!

No issues getting a table at around 6pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was only half full. Friendly staff. Someone brought their crying baby along... that seemed like a strange thing to do.

The goat cheese croquettes, cherry tomato salad, & potato omelet were great. The Brussels sprouts were mediocre.

The restaurant is pretty & almost romantic, except they cram WAY too many people into that tiny space. Be prepared to wait a while for a table, & even then you might end up sharing a table with another group as we did.

The sangria is very odd. It is pre-made & resembles a smoothie & is served over ice. It doesn't look like wine at all. My boyfriend said it tasted good anyway, but unfortunately I couldn't have any because it contained pineapple (I'm allergic) & they wouldn't make me any without it. I thought that was a little weird.

Still basking in the experience, decided to write a review!

My partner is Basque and we eat a lot of tapas.  A lot of good tapas. And these are as good tapas as any other we have had in NYC.  But what makes this place special is the vibe. Although it was already packed at 6:30 on a Sat eve when we arrived for an early evening snack, it has none of the "corporate restaurant" feel that I get in a lot of downtown spots.  None of the snobbery.  None of the annoying rules.  None of the crazy loud music.  The waiters here are friendly and helpful.  They understand that you come to a restaurant for a relaxing experience and great food and wine, not to be rushed in and out and pressured to order more.

Great, extensive wine list.  All the tapas were impressive.  I personally thought the patatas bravas were the weakest link -- though the dish was tasty, I want my bravas to look and taste like classic patatas bravas, and Buceo's version was somewhat unrecognizable.  But that was my only complaint, otherwise a perfect and actually fairly affordable meal.  Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu, which seem to be a mix of classic tapas and creative variations.  And as I live in Harlem, I'm glad this is on the UWS and we don't have to go all the way downtown anymore to have a great tapas experience!

Not terrible but not great. 2 1/2 stars.

My gf and I came here on a Saturday night following the many good reviews on Yelp. We were looking for good drinks with some food to pick at. The restaurant had a very upscale and somewhat romantic feel to it. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who seated us very promptly. It was a warm night so we chose to sit outside. We ordered the Sangre de Toro (a sangria mix), Datiles (bacon wrapped dates) and some of the house red wine. We got our orders within 15 minutes, which was good. The Datiles were delicious, the wine was ok and the Sangre de Toro was terrible. Overall, it was a bit underwhelming. The Sangre de Toro was $13 but tasted like spiked fruit punch from a college frat party.

Another low point was when three people decided to sit at a table for two next to us. They were two guys and a girl. The second guy pulled a chair from another table and sat in the aisle. He took up the entire aisle and was even brushing shoulders with my gf. I'm not sure why the waiter allowed this; the place was about half full at the time. They were nice people though and even made small talk with us. However, we would have much rather kept to ourselves.

Had a good meal there last week and enjoyed the cozy ambiance of this small place.  I've been to Spain many times and worked for many years in a Spanish restaurant so I'm a little particular about what I expect from Spanish food.

I selected a few small plates for our meal and started off with the padron peppers which are a favorite of mine although I'll settle for their Japanese cousin the shishito when in the US.  I was a bit shocked that they had padron on the menu since they are so difficult to come by in the US and since this isn't the season for them, so i double checked with the waitress and was assured they were padron.  Even with the assurance I was highly skeptical about the type of pepper that would come out, and not surprisingly they didn't match my taste expectation.   The batch I had were undercooked (still a little crunchy), stuffed to the gills with seeds (unlike padrons), and under-salted.  This left me wondering if perhaps they were another variety besides padron or shishito.  In any event after this experience I wouldn't bother ordering them again.

The baby octopus were nice and had a great smokey flavor to them.  I hadn't had, them before and was surprised by their tenderness and that they were served with the heads as well (although not attached).  Overall it was very different from the traditional sliced/boiled/paprika tentacles, in a positive way.

The shrimp in garlic was good. They used slightly larger shrimp than I'm accustomed to in this dish, and slightly less garlic - but it was good all the same.  If I were to nit-pick, the shrimp were slightly undercooked (more translucent than white) and mushy (frozen?).

The tortilla was eh - which surprised me because this is such a classic staple it should be hard to mess up.  Something was different in the consistency that I couldn't quite identify.  It was a little mushy as though it had been frozen and microwaved (which I realize is absurd given how great tortilla is cold and how easy it is to make) or maybe something abnormal was added to it.  I probably would have preferred the mayo/ketchup sauce to be on the side rather than right on top of the slice although that wasn't the deal breaker with this.

The plates were a good size for sharing.  If I were to go back I'd probably get the baby octopus again but would skip on everything else and try other dishes.  The waitstaff was great - very friendly and attentive.

I came to Buceo on a Friday night around 7 with my best friend and we snagged the last two seats at the bar during what's clearly a very busy time, but a lively one.  THe first great thing I'll say about Buceo is its wine list.  Bottles are so reasonably priced, choosing one over a quartino is an easy decision.  We went for a tasty Syrah from Northern France, extremely well-priced for $48 and worth every penny.  We ordered the brussels sprouts, garlic shrimp, octopus, and bacon-wrapped dates, more than plenty for the two of us to share.  Nothing was my favorite per se - I enjoyed the brussels sprouts, but I personally like them a little crispier, and the octopus was good for a few bites then just started to creep me out.  (Full disclosure - I'm trying to expand my culinary horizons, haha, and my foodie friend encouraged me to go for the octopus, which was better in small bits than the tentacles.)  We also ordered a meat and cheese plate, great selections and I enjoyed the peanut brittle but I wouldn't have minded a fig jam or something.  They also sent a complimentary plate, a little salad with avocado, tomatoes, and a cheese dressing, which was fine but nothing we would have ordered on our own.  Food is really three stars for me but I boost Buceo for its appeal.  Overall, Buceo gets four stars mostly for its wine list and great options - I would come on a date with my husband, with a vegetarian, with a diverse group of friends, and always feel confident that we would all enjoy great wine and great food options.

Really great place to get tapas if you are in on the UWS. The atmosphere is intimate and warmly lit- great place to come with a group of friends. We had a reservation for 8 and were immediately seated and greeted by a very nice waitress. The service was excellent as she managed to handle the orders of a large group with no mistakes and everything came out in a very timely manner. The wine pairings were great as well. We tried almost every tapa on the menu but the stand outs were the mini lamb burgers, the bacon wrapped dates, and the goat cheese croquets. I would suggest trying as many tapas as you can- because it won't disappoint!

A note: the kitchen doesn't actually open until 5:30, so if you get there at 5, be prepared to wait.

A solid tapas establishment on the UWS -- the menu reminds me a little of Atla, especially with the bacon-wrapped dates (though Buceo adds chorizo, which is a nice touch). The atmosphere is dim-lit and intimate, and the chairs are mostly high-rises that have these weird arms that make it hard to get in and out of the table.

    On to the food:
Bread is a thin baguette, a bit crusty and unforgettable. Spicy potatoes were delicious - basically spices and some sort of tomato based sauce on top of roasted potato slices.

The salad with avocado and oranges slices was pathetically small, though very fresh. Wish they'd given more avocado because I finished it after a few bites!

Don't recommend the shrimp (basically frozen shrimp in a vat of garlic oil), though if I ever come back I'd be tempted to try the paella with wild boar.

Not super impressed by the place, especially given how slow the service was. The waiter kept checking over our shoulders to see if we'd finished our dish yet -- the dishes pretty much came one at a time...which defeats the purpose of eating tapas.

Really? People think the food here is great?

I have good credibility with Spanish food because I lived in Spain when I was a kid, and the tapas at Buceo 95 just aren't right.

The tortilla española, a dish that any tapas bar should be able to nail, was pretty damn terrible. I think it may have even had cheese in it, which is total blasphemy. Potatoes, onions, eggs, oil, salt: that is all you need. (Maybe a pinch of talent, too.)

I also tried the brussels sprouts (which were fine), the gambas al aljillo (terrible shrimp that tasted like they may have come out of the freezer aisle), chicken skewers (totally forgettable), and white sangria (which tasted a bit like a melted orange popsicle).

The best dish of the night was just fine. The worst dish of the night was, frankly, inedible. That is not a good average.

The atmosphere and location are great, so this hurts to say: I won't be back.

We have been Buceo fans since it opened and it seems to only get better every year! Great food, perfectly sized portions! Everything is fresh and delicious!! I LOVE to octopus (pulpo) and dream of the lamb burgers. In the summer, my husband and I wake up craving their outdoor seating and bottle of Spanish rose for an early dinner. A hidden gem on the UWS!!

Great late night spot in UWS

We ordered sangrias which were perfect and unlike most sangrias Iv had in NYC. They used brandy in their red and vodka in their white. MY only complaint is they use ice. I hate ice with wine.

For dinner, the two of us shared the bacon wrapped dates and lamb burger (and some hugely spicy chips), and goat cheese croquets. They were good for a late night snack in which one doesn't want to be engorged at the end. The lamb burger was kind of weird tasting without the ketchup thought, but that was just me.

To name the cake chocolate tres leeches was a bit deceiving. I was expecting something tres-leches-ish, but was disappointed once it wasn't. It was still delectable.

For about 60 or so bucks it was a good night. The only bad part was the tight seating against he wall. Theres no outlet, so the person on the end has to keep getting up if anybody on the inside had to leave. That was what prevented the final star.

I had a great experience at this wine bar, expecially because I was there just before 630. The rush for spots before the theatre was about to start, but the place was not over crouded yet.  I was able to enjoy my drink, talk to my family, and take in the ambiance. I didn't expect the food to be so good, but it was better than many restaurants I could think of. I ordered the mushrooms, which were delicious. I remember mushrooms every place I go. The octopus and almond sauce was savory.  It was a lively, yet relaxing spot. Pick your time wisely! But definitely try this place!

One of my favorite tapas restaurants in the city. Cozy, candlelit, amazing ginger margaritas, friendly attentive service. The owner, bartender and waitstaff are all very accommodating. The garlic shrimp, asparagus, croquettes and a bacon dates are some of my favorites. I've been here a few times for date night, a birthday dinner and when I had family in town..never been disappointed.

I've eaten here several times, and it's a nice tapas bar with the kind of food you expect (and love).  They have a nice variety of wines to match, including - a standard wine but a nice touch - a Lopez de Heredia white, which is released later and usually drunk older than many other whites.

While I've enjoyed the food - especially the padron peppers, which I don't find on menus as often as I'd like, it gets unusually crowded, which is a little of a buzz-kill, since the tables are so close to one another, and make the room extremely noisy.  I think the prices are also a little on the high side for the informality of the place and the wonderful simplicity of tapas, so I don't go as often as I might.  That being said, the tapas are good, but I might prefer to go uptown to Manolo, where the food is every bit as good but the prices are more reasonable.

I've lived around the corner for almost 2 years but just found this place yesterday. Overall I really enjoyed my visit. Like the other reviewers have all stated, the service is very good.

Now I was fairly new to the whole tapas thing, so I wasn't totally sure what to expect. But basically they are smaller plates of food, and that's about it. While the food was good for the most part, you'll leave hungry if you just order an "appetizer" and an "entree". The whole point is to order a ton of different things and share them with others at the table, not something I'm usually a huge fan of.

Anyway, the food is very good. I tried the Tomato Bread, string beans with bacon, cod croquettes and the mini lamb burger. Everything was good, but I will say that the lamb burger was particularly delicious. The meat was just juicy and flavorful and cooked perfectly. If I make it back, I'll be ordering the lamb again and not sharing it with anyone.

My biggest complaint is the price. And not so much for the food, that ends up be on par with most restaurants in the city, but the drink prices were so much more above the food menu it was insane. I split a "small" pitcher of sangria (not quite 3 glasses) and it was $20. It was $15 for a vodka tonic... And I know it's new york and all that, but for the type of restaurant and its location, the drink prices were noticeably inflated.

Nonetheless I had fun, the food was good and the service was better than most places in the city and especially the area. I'll make an effort to return and try more from the pretty lengthy menu.

The food here is good and well prepared. They use high quality ingredients (although I wish they were organic), and the chef comes up with interesting and creative recipes.

The wine is also usually fine.

So why am I giving Buceo 95 only 2 stars?

Reason 1: it's a bit too pricy for what you get. Minus 1 star.

Reason 2: an intense smell of insecticide permeates the place. Most people seemed oblivious to it, so it may be one of those things I smell strongly and other people don't, but to me it's powerful. I can only go here if I sit outside in one of the tables by the street.Minus 2 stars.

I got a new job this week so it was time to celebrate which means I made my boyfriend take me out for dinner. See what a good girlfriend I am?

I've had Buceo 95 bookmarked to try for what feels like a year now, so finally we headed over there around 6:30 last night (yes, we do like to eat at the geriatric hour). The room is adorable: small, nice, low lighting, shelves of wine on the walls, and nice marble-topped bistro tables with comfortable stools (they have backs!). Our server was charming and helpful. And the food was delicious.

    We had:
Padron peppers: I always order padron peppers when I have tapas, these were good.
Morcilla with egg: Delicious, probably the best of the night.
Boquerones with white bean spread: I love boquerones, so this was a no brainer for me, but the dish itself is nicely composed. Good flavor profiles.
Cauliflower with manchego: Kind of a light cauliflower gratin. Very mild tasting. I enjoyed it but I probably wouldn't order again.
Bacon wrapped dates: Everyone on yelp recommends these and rightfully so. A perfect little bite.
Serrano and cheese fritters: Oh man, this one was vying for best of the night with the morcilla. Definitely a must order -- gooey, smokey, delicious.
Shrimp on a skewer with pickled garlic and olives: Tasty. The pickled garlic was a nice touch.
Saucisson with pimenton spread: Also delicious.

No real misses at all, which for tapas is a big deal. Plus they have a nice and very affordable wine list, focusing (obviously) on Spain. I think this will definitely be a go-to date place for us from now on.

Best tapas on the UWS. Hands down.

It was pretty busy when we arrived on a Friday night, but the host graciously led us to the bar where we settled in quite comfortably with some sangria. Um, wow. I don't know how long they soaked the fruit but it had quite the kick - in a good way.

Once we finally got to our table, our waitress was really helpful in providing suggestions about what to order and how much would be enough. We ended up going with four dishes, which was the perfect amount for two of us. We had the spicy potatoes, grilled calamari, chicken kebabs, and mini lamb burgers. Every dish was a hit. We couldn't finish it fast enough! For dessert we ordered the churros with chocolate, but thought the chocolate made the dish too sweet. Luckily, it came separate, so we just didn't pour it on top of the churros.

This place was such a great experience - we'll be back the next time we're craving tapas.

Great spanish tapas for the UPW, restaurant is a bit small so make sure you make a reservation prior to coming. Food is great the jamon is worth trying but definitely not like the real deal you get in spain. The croquetas are amazing. Recommend you get pan con tomate and top it with some jamon. The stuffed peppers were great too. The deserts are good too, we went for the churros con chocolate. All in all great restaurant but if you are spanish, dont expect the real deal.

I really dig this place but the only problem is consistency. The first time I went there I ordered the garlic shrimp and they were hot and well seasoned and the sauce was to die for! The second time I went I insisted that we order the shrimp but this time they were rather bland...that made me sad. Maybe third time is the charm? Either way the sangria is perfect and fantastic both times I went. I will be returning very soon

I'm with Tarra T on this one - I LOVE this place.  In a city like NY I feel its a sin to go back to a place you have already gone to, when there are a thousand undiscovered places yet to to try.  But somehow, Buceo 95 has me coming back again and again.

Lovely small plates, great staff, a selection of interesting wines.  And I never fail to have a convivial chat with someone when I sit down and eat at the bar.  And I know brussels sprouts aren't as sexy as, say chorizo (say it with a lithp, baby, ya know ya want to!), but MAN, their brussells are balsamic brilliance!

Okay okay...I know this is my third update review of this place but I seriously can't get enough (Plus, it's one of the few good Tapas restaurants near me.)  Here's the new dishes I tried that YOU MUST try if you go...repeat after me, "I will try these dishes when I go." Good boy/girl!!

    1) Tortilla Española potatoe omelet with caramelized onions - It's a staple tapas dish but Buceo definitely puts their own swing on it!!

    2) Pinchos Morunos Moorish Chicken Kabobs with cumin - I just discovered cumin in my own cooking and love it!!! The chick was well seasoned and tender.

AND THE SPECIALS!! Dum dum dummmm.....

    1) Squash Flower w/Goat Cheese - Yea, I know what you're thinking.  "What the heck is that?"  Whatever it was it was amazingly lightly fried and melted in my mouth. These are limited each night so order two for the table and you won't be sorry!

    2) Corn with Paprika - Think that great Mexican corn you can get at Citi Field, expect it's a loose corn minus the cob!! So much easier to devour and not look like a slob!

I would not recommend  - Pimientos de Padrón Galician fried green peppers - if you're watching your sodium intake.  The dish is typically salty but Buceo's version is OVERKILL.  I sent this plate back because I couldn't deal.

Great service, Yoofrey was our guy this time around, and beautiful, dimly lit, small restaurant.  It's JUMPING on the weekends so get there early - they don't take reservations for parties less than 6.

    ENJOY!!

The food is good.  we had the goat cheese croquettes, the pork belly, the lamb burgers, and a pitcher of sangria!

The food was all good... but not the best ever.  I think Ramblas really is a WOW tapas restaurant.  I do live in the neighborhood though so if you're craving tapas, it definately is satisfying in that aspect.

The sangria here was sub par - really really juicy and thick, not your typical light & refreshing cold glass of sangria.

The service is great though - very prompt, always checking on you, and the food came out really quick.

I really liked this place.  It was busy, but didn't feel overwhelmingly crowded.  Everyone who helped us from the host to the busboy served us with a smile.  We got the grilled green peppers, cod croquettes, asparagus, and tortilla espanola.  I loved everything (but not a huge fan of the tortilla espanola).  We finished the night with the chocolate dulce de leche dessert...OMG it was amazing!  Best dessert I have ever had...literally.  I highly recommend it.

This place is great for a casual drink with a friend or a date.  I will definitely go back again.

i'm not quite a fan of it, but i can't really find fault with this place so it gets a 4.
we went on a tuesday night around 7pm. we were seated promptly (2 people) by some of the friendliest staff i've ever met.

tapas. oh, you're so tiny and so expensive.

    food ordered:
    - Croquetas De Queso De Cabra (goat cheese croquettes with saffron honey)
they were like baby mini mozz sticks! the cheese was salty and the sauce was really sweet but it was still yummy. GET THIS :)
    - Champiñones (roasted mushrooms with sweet sherry sauce)
this was just alright and a bit sweet
    - Datiles Envuelto Con Bacon (bacon wrapped dates with chorizo and goat cheese)
there are 4 of these things. this was REALLY SWEET. it was a little overwhelming for my taste and i wish i had gotten this last as a dessert.
    - Bocadillo De Cordero (mini lamb burgers with manchego cheese)
2 sliders. OH YESSS. i'd order this again. the burgers were juicy and just the right amount of greasy. it also came with chips that had a little kick to it.
    - Churrasco Con Salsa Verde (skirt steak with green sauce, cava onion marmalade)
i really needed to wash out the sweetness from the croquettes and the bacaon wrapped dates. this neutralized the palette and probably the most decent sized.

this was shared between two people and the bill came to $56 and some change.

we got unlimited bread and glasses of tap water.
not a bad meal for the uws.

    Five stars:

    -The atmosphere
    -The service
-The bacon-wrapped dates (OMG...honestly some of the best bites of food I've EVER had)
    -The wine list

    Two stars:

-Everything else (thoroughly mediocre patatas bravas [imagine sad slabs of fried potatoes topped with a premade tomato sauce, drizzled with bland cream], absolutely rubbery/inedible calamari, slightly stale bread, and edible but uninspired vegetable sides)

I think this place over-rated. I so want to love it because it's 2 blocks from my apartment, but I just don't. The wine is overpriced in my opinion, so you're basically forced to get a bottle b/c otherwise you're getting ripped off for the quartino (1.5 glasses of wine). The food is just okay. The service is just okay. Overall, I'll go there for a relaxing atmosphere and pretty good wine but it's certainly not my go-to neighborhood spot.

On a nice evening when the windows are thrown open, it is wonderfully agreeable to sit at one of the high tables in Buceo, sipping a good glass of wine and munching their very tasty tapas. You would not expect such a nicely styled place in this location, but there it is. One of  the few restaurants this far up the West Side that's worth traveling to. Since I live in the area, there's no schlep. But schlep or no schlep, I love it.

Excellent Spanish wines and tapas. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Always satisfying. It costs a tad more than I would want,  but that's just the price of quality. Go, go, go.

Well, I think the food here is good.  And I think it's cute that they closed for a week between Christmas and New Years -- very European.  (Though I hope that doesn't mean they're on their way out of business, as such "closed temporarily" things sometimes do.)

But...you know, they do have a website.  Presumably they could use that to tell people that they're closing for a week -- before people traipse 10 blocks through the cold to go eat there.

Maybe the lesson is that anyone who wants to eat at this place should call ahead and see if they're open that week...

Happened to stop by tonight and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. We decided to split 4 tapas; patatas bravas, padron peppers, ham and cheese fritters, and lamb burgers with manchego cheese.

The burgers were the best of the bunch with the fritters close in second place and the peppers right there in third. The patatas bravas were a bit disappointing, the sauce was slightly too heavy and smokey for my taste. I found that when I was in Spain, the sauce was lighter had a bit more depth of flavor. Not a total loss, but not the best either.

The service was quick and professional, and it was quite cool that the owner (or possibly the manager) came by to check if everything was OK. The atmosphere was great; traditional music, low lighting, nice vibe. I though the price was slightly on the high end, $40 with tax and tip for 4 small plates, but it wasn't completely out there.

Looking forward to going back and trying some more of their tapas. Recommended.

Where do I begin? Let's just say that I have had the best tapas in my life (thus far) at Buceo 95.

My valentine brought me to Buceo tonight and I was really excited after reading all the positive yelp reviews. Buceo did not disappoint. This is what we ordered and my thoughts on each dish.

Spicy potatoes: It wasn't spectacular. I wouldn't reorder. Tasted like fried potatoes under a sour tomato yogurt sauce.

Dates wrapped in bacon: All the other yelpers were right! This was the best dish of the night. Amazing! Had to resist ordering another.

Fried peppers: Big portion and perfectly seasoned. I would definitely re-order. Use caution because some of the peppers are really spicy.

Calamari w/ squid ink: Delicious! Perfectly cooked and the flavors were bold. Would re-order.

Duck breast with peaches: Peaches were canned and the duck breast needed a bit more seasoning. Overall it was okay, and the portion was worth the $15 but I would probably try something else.

Skirt steak with green sauce: Meat was perfectly cooked and the green sauce was really fresh. It comes in a small pool of olive oil but is not greasy at all. Loved it! However, the $15 is a steep price to pay for the small portion. I might re-order.

The service was great and they consistently filled our water carafe and glasses. The food came out piping out and relatively fast. It was a wonderful experience and I think Buceo is now my favorite tapas restaurant! It even beat out Firefly in Vegas. I already asked for my birthday dinner to be held here.

We had a hankering for Spanish tapas and all the great Yelp reviews totally sold me for this place!  The restaurant is very small and intimate, and the staff is very nice and helpful.  They let us try 4 different wines before we finally settled on the right bottle!  The food was absolutely delicious as well.  We ordered a ton between just two of us, but from what I remember, this is what we ordered:

    - pork baby back ribs with carmelized onions (one of the specials- melted in your mouth and literally fell off of the bone)
    - halibut with haricot verts (another special - so soft, moist, and delicious)
    - bacon wrapped dates (always a favorite, but I think I make them better)
    - lamb chops with pumpkin puree (though the lamb was juicy, I wish it were more flavorful)
    - cheese stuffed grilled red pepper (absolutely divine!)
    - meatballs with tomatoes and red peppers (yum)

We also shared the pastel de chocolate con dulce de leche, which was sweet and the perfect end to our amazing meal.  Yeah, we really were pigs that night, but oh well!

We ate and talked for a good three hours without ever feeling rushed to leave.  With such amazing food, wine, and conversation, I was a very happy girl.  Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants on the UWS. The atmosphere is candlelit and cozy, with great decor.  I've had everything on the menu at least once, and if I had to pick a must-have in the line-up it would be the bacon wrapped dates. The sommelier is fantastic, and has remembered me every time I have walked in the door since day one. The excellent service from the waitstaff seals the deal on a great experience. I would definitely recommend to anyone who lives in the neighborhood.

I've been to this place about 5 times now and am never disappointed. For wine, whether at the bar or a table, the server/ bartender allows (sometimes many) tastes and it is always delicious. Glasses are served as quartinos so don't be offput by the price. It's pretty much 2 glasses.

Food is yummy. My favorites are the cheese plates, croquettes, green beans, and meatballs. They also serve bread with a wonderful herby olive oil dip.

Service really might be reason for the extra star. More often than not, I'm given free drinks, and the waitstaff is attentive and so friendly, you feel like they are actually your friends.

Ambiance is dark an cozy, but not overcrowded. I've taken my mom, girlfriends, and first dates here. It's perfect for all.

Absolutely excellent. Kaylie(?) our server was so attentive and knowledgable of everything on both the food and wine menu. She helped us select the best wine to our liking and brought out cheeses which complimented it perfectly (even one that wasnt on the menu). The bacon wrapped dates were phenomenal and I hate bacon (weird, I know).

The pumpkin purée was too sweet for our liking and tasted more like candied yams.

We were there for my boyfriend's birthday and at the end they brought out churros w a candle in them w chocolate dipping sauce.

Will def return when in the area.
