Don't come to Buccan expecting to make friends. This is a place where the locals go to visit with each other, eat good food, and drink fancy drinks.

Do come to Buccan for dinner (if you can get in), but be sure to dress to the 9's and spend a lot of dough, otherwise you're an outcast.

I love Buccan, when I visit my family this is a go-to for my friends and I. The food is so great, they have lots of small plates, which are perfect for sharing. The wines by the glass are also great- always a saving grace! The ambiance, rustic elegancy with a touch of romance.

    Great meal.

I highly recommend getting little plates and sharing. the food was great, so you should try as many dishes as possible.

rock shrimp - very good - extremely flavorful and light
short rib empandads - the meat was good, but the "empanada" part added little to it
    baby kale salad - excellent
pea ravioli wih lobster - good, but not the tender fresh pasta I was hoping for
    spinach - awesome

Amazing.  Food is great, service is great, ambiance is cool.

Started with the cheese of the day.  They give you a big slice vs a few nibbles.  Manchego was the cut tonight.  We had the beet salad and the conch ceviche to start.  Both were great.  The ceviche was really spicy.  Our entree was the squid ink pasta.  Great textures.  Seasoned perfectly.  Our dessert was the lemon mousse. Tremendous.

We were visiting Palm Beach for the weekend.  We bumped into a few people we knew.  This place just felt warm and friendly all the way around.

I live in Los Angeles, a city that has some of the most innovative cuisine out there today. Buccan may not earn 5 stars when it comes to innovation, but for freshness and flavor it can compete with the best.

My fiance and I ate here on a Sunday evening in early May during a weekend trip to Palm Beach.  Fantastic experience all around.

Buccan had a nice ambiance and a modern feel, but was not stuffy or snooty.  Service was professional and attentive but not overbearing.

And, most importantly, this was the best meal we had during three days in Palm Beach.  We started with a piece of delicious smoked Gouda cheese.  I had the pork taco appetizer, and my fiance had the kale salad, both of which were great.  The entrees were even better -- the swordfish was perfectly cooked and accompanied by some unique sides (Cauliflower and curried lentils).  The steak tartare was also great as well.

To top it all off, this meal was $50 cheaper than our dinner the previous night at Cafe Boulud, even though the food was ten times better.  We will definitely be going back next time we're in the area.

was delightfully surprised!! in town for a business trip and wanted some wine+cheese to wind down and came upon Buccan. Dined+ wined alone and it was PERFECT! the service was excellent and the scene was great for people watching.

I would definitely go for the grilled bacon wrapped peach. The side salad that comes with the completely complements the favors.  The cheese + balsamic jam was quite amazing as well for you cheese lovers.

I would definitely come back! highly highly recommended. Wish i could take Buccan back with me to NYC!

So yummy! My boyfriend and I picked out a couple of plates and enjoyed them all. The standouts for me were: the shortrib empanadas (I've tried MANY empanadas in my lifetime, these were by far the best), pork tacos, and the hamachi sashimi. Fresh ingredients with a lot of flavor. The locale was very nice, even though it's in Palm Beach it's not pretentious like many other restaurants on the island.

Wow! Amazing! Service is awesome and the eclectic menu and variety of seating makes it friendly for family's, couples and singles. We loved the meatball slider but the much-loved short rib empanada was out of balance. Squid ink orechetti nice but pasta too thick. Chicago sausage in pasta a fun surprise. The burger though more cooked than requested was un-arguably awesome and the Parmesan fries better. Our dining neighbors complimented our dinner choice as newest hot spot in Palm Beach, after our dinner I would have to agree.

Buccan was the highlight dinner after dining out 4 nights in a row on The Island. Our table was waiting for us at 9:00 with no problem (which is NOT always the case in PB restaurants). Our server was fantastic, the timing perfect throughout dinner. We tried the short rib empanadas and the tuna tartare as apps -- both ablsolutely delicious. For mains we went the large plate route and had the swordfish and the filet -- both really good. The cashew sauce and accompanying cauliflower with the swordfish entree was outstanding.

I also love the atmosphere -- very relaxing, reminiscent of Buenos Aires restaurants I've been to. The crowd is what constitutes the trendier side of PB.

Seriously horrid experience that started with us being served tuna tartare instead of the steak variation we were fairly certain we actually ordered. This set the tone for the entire meal. Service was friendly enough, but terribly slow & incompetent.  None of the menu descriptions match the actual food. Everything has dairy & cream & cheese, which is murder for people who have diet restrictions or allergies, since both the menu & the server appear to be sworn to secrecy, & will not reveal the presence of said cheese or cream even under threat of karmic harm. Even something so basic as a kale salad was loaded up with Parmesan (not to mention that they neglected to put the dressing on the side, as we had requested.) To add insult to injury, our card was processed for the wrong amount, & it took forever to get it corrected.

The one positive of our visit was a lovely Basil Rathbone cocktail ~ which we should've had at the bar, running away immediately afterwards! Safe to say this is a "never again" place for us & anyone we know.

Oh, & I'd be remiss not to mention the completely random & poorly curated music selections, & the oddly mismatched French Plantation vs. Industrial decor.

Delightful service in a hopping spot on a random breezy and temperate December night.  Why so hopping?  It just might have something to do with the fact that it is half-price bottle of wine night (for the entire catalog).  I guess even the hoity toity in Palm Beach are not immune from enjoying the benefits of the economic doldrums!

My server could not have been more nice or accommodating.  The short-rib empanadas ($5 a pop), a buttery dish of fresh asparagus ($7) and a half-ear of mexican style corn on the cob ($3.50) brought my pre-tip total to less than 25 bucks.

The regular prices for the bottles of wine are not cheap- I think there is one for $45 and they go way up from there.

Was so excited to go to this restaurant. Service started out ok but as they got busy the service was terrible I waited for my glass of wine twice for a very long time...tapas came out quick in beginning then painfully slow. 2 of us shared 6 different dishes 4 just ok, 2 we liked a little better Shrimp Tempura and Lobster Ravioli. Wasn't horrible but not worth the money. Would not go again !

Trendy little place with an air of arrogance.
So this is where the moderately well-off go out to show off and the gold diggers hang out hoping to snag a billionaire.

Atmosphere: The place seems to try too hard.  From the fake wait for tables to the hipster Asian DJ.
People watching here is very entertaining.  spotting the haves and have nots, as well as the anorexic daddy warbucks hunters.

Food: while delicious, the portions are perfect for the anorexics mentioned above.
We couldn't decide so we ordered several dishes which were more the size of single serve appetizers. Let me add I don't eat much, and I thought it was tiny.   Had the Tuna Ahi, lobster roll, conch and a few others.  All were well spiced. The ahi was actually spicy for this Latin chica, which is a good thing.

I'll probably go back for the entertainment factor and good eats.

Three words - short rib empanadas. Do yourself a favor - at $5 a pop, you can't go wrong. The rest of the food was more than adequate, if not spectacular.

As for decor, I kind of felt like I was in a beige cocoon. A loud and friendly beige cocoon, but nonetheless...the restaurant lacked a unifying theme. That said, it's still worth a try, especially considering that Palm Beach is not exactly a foodie mecca these days.

    Still craving the food!!!

My husbnd and I had to go up to West Palm for a couple days and checking this place out was on top of our list.  We went with another couple on a Firday night and it was the first time for all of us so we were excited to check it out.  The restaurant is in a great location and for it being a Friday night was the only one really busy especially for off season.  The decor is very Palm Beach, a lot of white with french windows and wood floors, it was also a lot bigger than what it looks like from outside.  The atmosphere was very chic and I guess it was the place to be.  Now on to the yummy part.....

Reading over the menu we really couldnt decide but since its a tapas concept we really didnt have to and honestly you cant go wrong with anything because it was all delicious.  We had:

Hot dog panini - really good

Short rib empanadas - we ordered them twice because they were that good!

Conch salad - im pregnant and couldnt try it, but the other couple is from the bahamas and if they say its good - then its good!!

Steak tartar - once again couldnt try but the guys loved it

    Fried Clams w/porkbelly - YUM!

Corn Ravioli - which by this point i was full but couldnt resist and it was so good and not heavy

    Asparagus pizza

Quail over cheese bisquit - I have never had quail but this was so delicious and the sauce....gosh i am getting hungry!

There were more things we wanted to try but couldn't eat anymore.  We heard the raw menu is really good too but with 2 pregnant women we will have to save for next time!!

    An instant favorite.

Since learning about this restaurant a couple weeks ago, my husband and I have already eaten dinner here twice and brunch once.

My husband and I often go to restaurants and only order an array of appetizers because we love the creativity and variety of appetizers. For that reason, I love small plate restaurants.  I also love New American cuisine.

That said, it's no surprise this place became an instant favorite for me. It's situated on S.County road and its small sign makes it somewhat easy to miss. It's much larger inside than it would appear to be on the outside.

The dress code is casual to business casual, and has a bustling atmosphere once you walk in. Sunday brunch is fun as it offers live music and some $5 cocktails.

They describe their menu as a changing menu, although they only really seem to change a couple items from day-to-day. I'm glad they don't change it too much, because the menu is great as-is.

    We have had:

    Olive tapenade
    Meatball sandwich
    East and west coast oysters
    Tuna Tartare
    Sweetbread springrolls
    Sweetpea risotto
    Hot dog panini
    Quail
    Cheesecake
    Flourless chocolate cake
    Potato Latkes
    Gnocchi
    Beef Tartare
    Octopus ceviche

Of those, most were absolutely delicious. Our favorites were the Sweetbread spring rolls, Tuna Tartare, and the Olive Tapenade.

Our least favorite was definitely the hot dog panini, which seemed extremely salty. Although, since we weren't going to eat it, we gave it to the table next to us who asked to try it, and it ended up being their favorite dish.

Service/staff is excellent and very professional. Their recommendations on what to order has never let us down.

The prices are extremely reasonable. For about 7 small plates at dinner, a cocktail (fressa is delicous), a couple glasses of wine and desserts, we paid $112.

Overall, we love this place and it has quickly become one of our top restaurants.  We will definitely become regulars here.

This is one of my most favorite spots.  The food is delicious and fun.  The service is great and the atmosphere is vibrant.  I am so grateful to have a place like this to go to in Palm Beach, which is usually very sleepy and traditional.

You have to make resos in advance.  Definitely the best spot to go out with friends and family.  Not good for business dinners as it gets quite loud.

Such a great Place!! Great atmosphere...People watching, to DJ booth, to chilling at the bar, to the comfy couches in the front, to the chefs that you can watch while seated for dinner...what entertainment!! The Drinks are fantastic, and the menus are cute paper printed newspaper-style. The food was fantastic and came out quickly. The ceaser and beet salad are both great. The Calamari was superb!  I ordered snapper for my main course I asked my waiter for advice and it was soo good! It comes in a green curry sauce was soo delicious and I recommend coming back to this place...what an experience

After some exploring while on vacation in the area I found Buccan, which was nowhere to be found online during some previous searches.  They are under http://www.buccanpalmb..., FYI.

They have a great small plate concept that seems trendy, but is really a great idea.  I would rather eat 2 or 3 bites of 10 items, then 10 bites of 2 items.  The interior is funky yet sophisticated/casual, with appropriate levels of music guiding your experience.

    The Food
My wife and I attacked  the menu and left the order of consumption up to our server, who was very good and charming.

Marinated Anchovies - classic, good start (tip: add some heat)

Octopus and Conch Ceviche - brilliant, some of the best I've had, a very nice portion

Short Rib Empanada - Flaky crust, tender beef inside that was tossed in a little butter inside, nice and rich but not filling, we split 1

Fried Zucchini Flowers - A great approach by NOT stuffing them, they were delicate, crispy and satisfying, they can stand on their own but the dipping sauce was nice

Whipped Ricotta Ravioli's - Pure magic in the mouth, soft pillows of love surrounded by a light cream sauce and fresh peas, bravo

Linguini w/ Morels - another nice pasta dish, whole morels make this a steal considering the price

Grilled Corn - I could look up everything that the corn was coated in, but just take my word its flippin' good, and I am stealing the recipe.

Brussels Sprouts w/ Bork Belly - i have to admit mine are better, but the sprouts were cooked perfectly with just the right combination of smoke and sweet.

Overall compared to similar places I have tried around the US/World, Buccan is a solid 4 star restaurant that should have continued success since they change their menu seasonally.  I would expect their prices to go up as their popularity catches on.  Get there quick.

Had a fantastic meal on my birthday. My parents decided to eat at the restaurant for their anniversary and I surprised them with champagne and dessert. To my dismay Buccan charged my credit card an excessive amount. After calling to inquire about the hefty charge, the manager was extremely professional and courteous and immediately resolved the situation. It is not often that you encounter such professional  service. The food is great and the atmosphere is lively. If you are looking for a quiet place, then this is not the restaurant for you. Want something hip, fun and trendy...Buccan is your spot. I'll be back.

    WOW.

    Came and had almost everything

Marianted Anchovies - Nice with the bread
Spicy Tuna Tartare - GREAT we ordered two
Beet Salad - Great for sharing very good nice size
Burrata (fresh mozerlla salad) - Delicious not good for sharing
Shortrib Empanadas - WOWZA. everyone order one
Meatball Spring Roll - Good.. a little to fried for my taste tho
PEI Mussles - Nice size portion DELICIOUS SAUCE SAVE SOME BREAD
Whipped Ravioli - Do me a favor and have this as an ENTREE. Everything is delicious with truffle oil

and for my meal (.....i like to eat) i had the Yellow tail snapper in green curry sauce.

Very flakey and delicious in a not so powering curry sauce. Nice and light after a huge bombardment of Tapas.

Atmosphere is very Key Largo-esque... Seems to be infested with the palm beach crowd. It's a little loud at times but i like the open air kitchens that are separated between hot and cold.

Half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays!

We called to make reservations and were informed that they were fully booked, and that we would have to sit at the high tops which are self seating. Although when we arrived, the place was maybe 40% full at best at 8pm?  The seating options are not the most exciting within the restaurant, although there is an  open feel to the place.   Regardless, It was a rainy night and we sat in the front lounge area.  We started with two glasses of wine. A Malbec which was okay, and a Cab which was significantly better recommended by the server. We had the mushroom pizza and the yellowtail sashimi and were pleasantly surprised with the flavors.  The service was good, but not that personable.

Good concept of small plates to share. Food was well prepared and came out lickety split. Not a place to linger. Turnover seems to be akey. Some plates were better than others with some of the problem plates stemming from timidity with flavors, perhaps to cater to some of the well heeled face lifted and Botoxed crowd who are there more to be seen than to savor food. A little more heat or acid when needed was lacking and although there was adequate seasoning, there was perhaps too much salt in some cases more well suited for those with fading taste buds. For example, a rare beef spring roll was advertised by the waiter as having a peanut sauce that made the chef proud. Not. A good Thai restaurant would do for far less. Also my wife and I only wanted a cup of coffee each to end our meal. I decided to order a single French Press coffee but because I asked for two cups, they charged me for two French Press coffees. I questioned it and was told that this was how it was done if two people ordered coffee. Then give me another French Press! As you can tell, I am not from the area and will not be a regular that frequents this place. That said, they do not need me and Clay Conley certainly chose the right place for a new restaurant. This place was hopping with its Palm Beach denizens.
