This place is beautiful inside, with wrought iron railings, multi-level seating, and a spacious bar area. The walls are olive green and cream-colored, and if you're there during the day, it's very bright, with sunlight streaming through the windows.
I ordered the grass-fed garlic burger, which was nicely seasoned, and not overly garlicky. The fries were crisp and golden, and my strawberry lemonade with vodka was sweet and refreshing, if just a little light on the vodka. The biscuits we got before our meal were a nice touch--although I wouldn't have eaten them without the delicious strawberry jam since they weren't fresh out of the oven. (We all know there is nothing good about a cold biscuit.)
Service was prompt and attentive, and the prices were about what you'd expect- my drink was $9 and my burger was around $14.

Went to Bubby's for breakfast because we had just walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and were hungry for some breakfast. Other than Almondine around the corner, Bubby's pretty much is the only sit down place to go for breakfast.
It was just OK.
Our waitress brought over coffee, (which was just "ok" coffee...not that great)... and forgot to bring the cream. We had to flag down a server and I hate having to do that. Cream should come with the coffee. They did the same thing at the table next to us.
The food is fine...but way overpriced. $19 for lox on a bagel which wasn't even that fresh?
It also took forever and a day to get our food.
The atmosphere at Bubby's is nice, and they have a cool black and white photo booth near the bathrooms which is great for an Amelie-like moment, but other than that, I wouldn't go back.
If you're in DUMBO and you're looking for something delicious for breakfast, go to Almondine.
I had my wedding at Bubby's exactly a year ago last August. My name is Viv, and I hijacked my hubby's yelp account to rave about the restaurant!
When we started searching for a wedding venue, we had all of greater NYC to choose from, because we were not particular to a location for a ceremony. We looked at a few spaces in Manhattan, but what I really cared about was a reception with great food and great atmosphere for dancing. I wanted to throw a real party, not a fancy shmancy dress-up event.
We walked into Bubby's for brunch first to get a sense of the atmosphere. The high ceilings, bi-level restaurant with views of Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, and downtown Manhattan took my breath away, and this was 2PM on a Saturday. I could only imagine how the view would change for an evening wedding.
We scheduled a tasting shortly after, and ultimately decided on the following menu:
Hors d'Oeuves:
Mini potato pancakes with sour cream and caramelized onions
BBQ chicken fried chicken skewers
mini bbq pulled pork on homemade potato buns
herb crostini with fresh mozzarella, basil, and cherry tomatoes
grilled old bay shrimp skewers
Salad:
Arugula with Roasted Pears and Parmigiano Reggiano
Entrees: (2)
Lemon garlic roasted chicken
Seared NY Striped Bass with Citrus Vinaigrette
Sides: (3)
Au gratin potatoes
Mac and cheese
Green beans almandine
Dessert: (2)
Apple brown betty
Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream
Afterwards, my guests raved about the Hors d'Oeuves, the space, the cool dj, the selection on tap, and my ceremony along pebble beach across the street. They may have been lying, but I was taught to tell only the truth, otherwise say nothing at all.
I was especially excited that after wedding, the fundraiser "Bridge to Somewhere: A Brooklyn Evening For Barack Obama" was sold out at Bubby's:

I heart Bubby's. I cannot get enough of this place and its a serious problem! I might need Bubby's Anonymous meetings since we've been going almost every weekend. The food is heaven served next to a view of the city and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Everything on the menu is fantastic- I love the pancakes. And the huevos rancheros (just to name a couple of soooo many). And I'll have a fresh fruit press, please with vodka of course. Maybe I'll go there right now..... And so my problem continues.

There's is no place better and the food is great too. Although maybe I'm not the best person to ask because I'm never had anything other than "Bubby's Breakfast" platter, I've eaten at Bub's over 50 times. Guess I'm only qualified to review anything but that platter, that and the presses with vodka. Bacon, a 5 out of 5. Eggs...5, can't F up eggs can you. Home fries well done...this is what makes the dish, 10. Have you every been to a place 50 times and never order anything different because you're sacred that anything else will make you feel like your girlfriend just told you that she's been having sex with your best friend. I do and have. Bubby's all the way.
The hype for this place may have let me down. The prices were ridiculous for brunch and the food was not great either. First of all, it's hard to screw up breakfast/brunch items. You can make them special, but it's not easy to make them terrible. These were ordinary. Pancakes were heavy, cement-like objects which were hard to digest. Eggs were a little runny. And 2 eggs, bacon and 2 pancakes all for $16! No thanks. Nice decor, lots of kids, I don't think I'll be back.
Such a nice location with so-so food. They are not putting much efforts on their menu.
I won't be back for amazing food.
I will just go only when I need to use a bathroom after walking around DUMBO. Might order coffee or tea. That is all.
I don't even go for brunch.
If you have to take a group somewhere to eat, this place is perfect!
This and Matsuri are my choice when I have to organize some group events.
If they improve their menu, I might go back.

Had our wedding here. LOVED it. Amazing view, amazing venue, friendly and helpful staff and great food.
And they have a real life old fashioned PHOTO BOOTH!
What more could you ask for?
Thanks for the wonderful memories! We'll always cherish them.
Came here on a lovely weekend for brunch and loved the location of it. It is underneath the Manhattan Bridge and right next to a park by the river. The views are beautiful. I'm sure it is even more breath taking at night. The place is HUGE. Looked like it used to be a warehouse. And the menu is snazzy. I got an apple-bacon omelet with home fries. It was pretty good and interesting to the palate (in a good way), not to mention the huge portions. I barely finished the omelet! Had to leave the fries on the plate. It is definitely a breath of fresh air from the usual diner.
Watch out for the 15 baby carriages on the way out, though. Lots of young couples in the area.

When you sell a $14 hamburger you should be able to cook it properly.
I came here for Sunday brunch and the wait was about a half hour for a table for two. The service here is very fast though, waiter asked for drinks right away, biscuit basket delivered (see below), order taken 3 minutes later, and the food comes out about ten minutes later. Parking is such a bitch here, so it loses a point for that, plus the brunch wait. Oh, and it's not that cheap. And there are a lot of screaming kids.
Forget about everything else, you need to come here to eat the free biscuits that you get at brunch with the strawberry jam (which can be conveniently found already at your table, you don't even need to ask for it). I just smoked and I am seriously drooling at the moment from writing about these biscuits n jelly (and they are free). Mmmm....
You really can't go wrong with breakfast! I went here with 3 other people on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and the place wasn't too busy. I can't recall the name of my dish (nor can I find it online) but it consisted off eggs benedict, mini waffles, bacon and home fries. It was pretty good and generous that no matter how hard I tried I just coudn't finish it. This is a great place to take out-of-town guests to as the view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges are amazing.
Don't forget: Cash only
Street parking
Take some pictures in the photobooth!
Brooklyn Bridge Park is right across the street - pefect for
walking those home fries off!

It is always a bit hectic here but it is because the hordes know a good thing - Bubby's is a great brunch. Flaky biscuits (use the jam!), oversized portions, perfect french fries- what more could you ask for on a Sunday morning. I only wish it were a little closer to home and a little less zoo-y.
But I won't be gone for long. Overtime the hour wait on Mother's day will fade into an abyss and all I will remember is that brunch-y goodness.

Let's be honest. When in DUMBO on a weekend looking for a brunch spot, there aren't a lot of choices.
Bubby's is there. It's huge, and usually bustling. Great views of the waterfront & skyline.
Food is good, nothing to write home about. Portions are generous so consider sharing if you're not super-hungry.
It is cash only, so make sure you've got some greens in your pocket.
Also, save some for the photo booth in the back!

My fiance and I are scouting locations for our wedding, and when I spotted Bubby's on The Knot I was intrigued! So we decided to try them out for lunch.
The Good:
-Homemade Pink Lemonade! It rhymes and it's delicious.
-Grass-fed Beef! You can taste the difference.
-Large Portions!
-Great, friendly service!
-Really cool looking bar area.
-Stunning view!
The Bad:
-Food overall was not stellar, at least not impressive enough for me to have my wedding here. In fact, I thought the space in general was a little awkward for a wedding (the "bridal suite" is a curtained off area the size of a half bathroom on the mezzanine...it doesn't even have a full length mirror).
-Ordered my burger medium and it came back overcooked (not dry, mind you, but not pink).
-Mac & Cheese was slightly lacking in flavor, apart from the crust which was nice.
-I HATE the lace curtains on the windows. Hate hate!
-Cash only. In this day and age it boggles my mind.
Bottom line: Bubby's is a pleasant but underwhelming experience. Go for the pink lemonade and the chocolate peanut butter pie...one slice will last you a week!

Not going to lie...I'm a big Bubby's (Tribeca) fan...and I had higher expectations. After a delightful walk across the Brooklyn Bridge with some out-of-towners, we came to Bubby's for lunch this past Saturday. While I loved the space, most everything else disappointed. The service, was a real miss: an apathetic hostess; two oblivious bartenders; and--most of all--our slow-as-molasses and completely uninterested waitress. The food was fine, but our sandwiches came on second-rate bread and tasted just "fine."
Hopefully we were just there on an off day, b/c I really wanted to walk away pleased as pie. But I didn't feel like waiting 40 minutes for a slice of it.

I just had brunch here this past weekend and I was a bit hesitant since the last time we were all here, their food wasnt as great.
I ordered the sour cream pancakes and was pleasantly surprised, no Kosher Salt was added. The rest of my party had the pancakes and the omelettes and liked everything.
Maybe Bubby's chef changed from that time but would definitly return.

Parked beneath and between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges in tony DUMBO, Bubby's, with its tall windows staring out at the East River, provides one of the most delicious vistas in all of New York City dining.
It also represents the greatest waste of restaurant space in all of Brooklyn, if not the entire city.
The Bubby's experience, once you have looked out the windows (correction, once you have left Main Street for the restaurant) is a series of frustrations and disappointments leaving the owner of even the mildest business sense left to wonder: what if?
What if the lobby, instead of leaving a table lying cluttered with free (read: cheap) postcards for clubs, bars and theater did not incongruously and vacuously sit behind a gaggle of strollers in the lobby and, instead, carried a bouquet of flowers or a bowl of apples or magazines and newspapers? Then all customers might think this place cares about everyone and not just those people too slothful to fold up and pack away their baby carriages and too illiterate to read more than what can fit on an index card.
What if, in the place of a mousey woman who borrowed her wardrobe and persona from the protagonist of a Beverly Cleary novel, Bubby's hired a host whose presence was greater than a tardy substitute teacher? Perhaps, then, children might be encouraged to behave with a modicum of respect for the people they share the dining room with; or, rather, parents might be encouraged to treat Bubby's as a restaurant rather than a socialist Montessori.
What if, instead of cluttering un-wiped two-tops with: sugar, maple syrup, creamers, jams, ketchup, Tobasco, salt, pepper, Splenda and honey, servers and busboys cleared tables and cleaned them then brought out the appropriate condiments to the appropriate customers instead of crowding the tabletop with sticky and half-full vessels of infelicitous sauces and sweeteners. Then, one might enjoy a dry, tepid biscuit with a dollop of butter and a spot of honey. Or, one might feel confident that the contents of the creamer could be poured into a cup of coffee.
What if, rather than having waiters, busboys and runners traverse a space the size of Nagorno-Karobakh to find something-anything, management set up two or three more stations with computers, linens, silverware, etc.? Then a table might be able to ask for a check or a replacement for a fallen spoon and hope to see it before the angle of the sun noticeably changed.
What if, rather than a three-egg omelet with home fries and toast (in addition to the ubiquitous biscuit), a brunch entrée arrived with a small salad or fruit? Then perhaps Bubby's customers would not feel like they are at a diner in St. Louis but rather eating in an elegant space with some of the best views of one of the world's greatest cities.
What if servers, rather than tell you the "House Smoked Rainbow Trout and Eggs" is prepared with smoked rainbow trout, horseradish cream, toast and your choice of home fries and grits--that is to say he repeated to you what you could clearly read--informed you that this is a scramble topped with crème fraiche and that it is better with rye toast, for example while poached eggs can be had with Eggs Benedict. Then when one asks for it with poached eggs three very awkward, unappealing and space consuming bowls of 1) poached eggs, 2) smoked trout, and 3) sour cream.
What if the purportedly famous pies, rather remaining an enigma, were described and offered by servers or a slice of them finished a meal along with the check instead of those darned biscuits? Then Bubby's might be doing something clever and unique (think Egg and their cinnamon doughnut holes) rather than providing another New York City brunch.
These are just a few of the questions I came up with after having been forced to eat at Bubby's a few times over the course of some months.

In my mind, DUMBO is to New York as SoMa is to San Francisco. And I'm a fan of both.
But if SoMa's got a great place for meatloaf, I am unaware of it. Luckily DUMBO has Bubby's!
Bubby's, famous for brunch, was the setting for a lunch meeting for four on a weekday. Things were fairly quiet in this big restaurant the day we came. I suspect my experience is in stark contrast to those who come here on a Sunday.
Alongside my bacon-wrapped meatloaf I had mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. All were superb!
I wish the juice presses had less sugar though. They'd have been just as nice without any at all!
By the end of our meal there was no way I could eat a slice of pie. Next time!

Bubba Bubba Bubby's!
I have been a fan of this place since a close friend of mine brought me their special melted chocolate cake (a whole cake to go) for my birthday 3 years ago. I melted my way to heaven after tasting it! (DELICIOUS)
Bubby's in DUMBO is the perfect location for brunch with family or a group of friends celebrating a birthday. It has such a family-like feel to it, perfect for bringing mom/dad or grand folks when they are in town. The setting is BREATH TAKING. Right by the bridge, park and water. I guess you could come here as a couple or with a friend but honestly..the setting is better for family's, celebrations or with your children.
Talk about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt style families.. the kids here are frigin little models! I might need to ask them for some tips next time I stop by. ;o)
I like Bubby's, great brunch, great food & fun enviornment!

Went here for brunch. The food is very ho-hum nothing to talk about, but the location was quite wonderful for a Sunday afternoon. We arrived a little before 12pm and had a 15 min wait which was completely reasonable.
There's a triple-level to this place- lower level was where they seated adults without toddlers (where we were seated at), mid level for parents with toddlers, and upper level looked like some sort of baby shower and seemed saved for party functions. The mid level was rather hilarious; really why were there so many toddlers? Do they tell their toddler friends to meet up for brunch on Sundays? Quite odd.
Servers, hostess, staff were very hipster. They weren't dirty at all like some commenters had mentioned below, just rather amusing as it seemed like they had all walked out of an Urban Outfitters catalog save for the little apron.
The brunch food was simply overpriced for what you received.
Pancakes with bananas- three pancakes with say 1 chopped up banana. $14 what you'd expect not bad but nothing amazing especially at that price.
Belgium Waffles with bananas & strawberries and slight touch of sugar powder- ate about half of this and seemed like something was missing, this was a really dry dish. Then realized the bananas and strawberries were simply chopped and plopped on top. If they had smashed up some strawberries with some sugar to make a bit of syrup this would have been wonderful. $13
Then one of the specials- French toast (thick and awesome, the only thing we really liked), two sides of eggs, two chicken sausages and a cup of coffee for $14.
The basket of sweet biscuits were nice with the syrup.
Basically, good atmosphere- good location in which you can check out the Brooklyn bridge right across the street. However, for food you could go to IHOP for the same thing at 1/3 of the price.

When I first visited Bubby's Brooklyn in 2005 it was a delightful restaurant with colorful mismatched tables and chairs, artsy clientele and loads of character.
I'm not sure what changed first, the customers or the decor, but Bubby's Brooklyn now now boasts plain wood furniture and caters to wealthy young families (when it's not closed for a wedding, that is--which is usually).
The food and view, however, are still great.

I have a feeling I'm going to be coming here a LOT. The whole work clan came here Friday night for holiday dinner. The view of BOTH bridges is unreal and this old building has probably one of the best views of the city.
The menu is a lot of MEAT. Meatloaf wrapped in bacon. Pulled pork. Pork Butt. You name it. Even my cobb salad was 50% bacon, 50% the rest of the salad.
The drinks were great although I'm giving one minus start as the tap was broken so the group drinking beers had to deal with bottles. (Not like we minded!)
Helpful hint: It's cash only.
We didn't actually make it inside Bubby's, as it was closed for a private event. Apparently, they do a lot of wedding receptions (understandable given the beautiful views). So how, might you ask, can I give it 5 stars?
My husband and I went with our Brooklyn local friend, who apparently frequents the place a lot. We were going to enjoy some pie, which it seems they are known for. When we got there, our friend greeted the doorman, and just said, "Aw man, any way we can get some pie?" The doorman didn't flinch, said, "Sure, what would you like?" And then I shit you not, went inside, and came out with a whole free pie! THAT'S how you keep...and gain...customers. AMAZING.
The pie was quite tasty later that night...

Plus:
Dope View. Biscuits. Best Grits ever. Fine food.
Minus:
long waits. Babies Babies Babies. I think even the parent's of toddlers would be freaked out by the number of $500 strollers. food takes a long time.
but the real issue: the filthy hipster boys who were the waiters for our area. They were litterally the least hygenic servers I have ever had. I really am not uptight. I will eat at any filthy old place. Hell, my favorite bar has mold in the sink. But this was too much. Don't pick your ear and then pick up an order of toast and examine it really close to determine the kind! Sick.
oh, and my order was wrong.
never again. or at least, never again for quite a while.

Everything here is creamy and butter pie-tic. the portions are huge and you can never finish. one way to put it - pure comfort food in grits and pie way. I die for the malted milk shake. Usually I go there for a weekend brunch. It is veru family friendly restaurants and you can tell that by baby stroller parking space when you walk in. It is situated right across from the brooklyn bridge park enterance where we can have some walk after. Yum yum..

Well first off, this place is cash only so make sure to stop around the corner and snag some cash. When first walking in, the host was kind of rude right off the bat, maybe he didn't feel the need to be nice to someone who DIDN'T have four double strollers to park in their hallway.
Anyway, this place is spacious. I was expecting a little more comfort, but the view is really nice. We went for brunch -- the bellini was really good ($8) but the cold biscuits to start off with were just really dry. I decided on an avocado/spinach omelet (with homefries, side of bacon for the table.) The omelet came avocado-less, so disappointing! and oozing with goat cheese. Literally overdosed on the queso and the eggs weren't seasoned, which I hate.
The homefries were a plus. The toast also, was really good but just kind of thrown on the plate and looked strange. I'm all about aesthetics when it comes to brunch, oddly enough. The bacon sucked, you could tell it had been sitting out for quite sometime. It was pretty cold, some pieces were burnt and others were rubbery and sick.
For two, brunch was $40ish. I wouldn't recommend this place for brunch but I'd come back and try dinner.

DO NOT go to Bubby's for brunch unless you enjoy eating in a NURSERY!!!
Babies screaming and crying at nearby tables, children running around unrestrained, kids being changed in the men's room, crotch-fruit bumping into you as you walk to the bar. This is what Bubby's has in store for you. If you own a $1,000+ double-wide stroller, or wish you did, then by all means, brunch at Bubby's with your people.
As for the food, it is mediocre, certainly not worth the hour wait on a Sunday afternoon. Also, I have ordered two slices of pies at Bubby's on separate occasions -- the key lime and the chocolate peanut butter -- both were poor and went uneaten by the table. The french toast is made with regular thin slices of bread, which is very unimpressive.
One thing Bubby's does well is vanilla egg creams. Also, the space itself is nice.
Too bad DUMBO and Bubby's appears to have gone the way of Park Slope, there are more babies and children than adults.

I threw a wedding shower here for a friend. The staff was pretty nice and the food was good. I chose this restaurant for 2 things - the price and the view! (they offer a very nice party package compared to other places in the neighborhood)
Its an extra special brunch experience when I can look out the windows and be sitting between the BK & Manhattan bridges. Really what could be nicer on a Sunday?
My one complaint was that the waitstaff was rushing us out the door, pretty much taking away half finished plates & glasses when clearly we were not done. I let it pass since it was a quick 3 hour party.

I'm torn between two and three stars. I agree with the other reviewers. First, on the BABIES. I do like kids. But, there are a lot of badly behaved kids apparently taking themselves out to eat these days. Parents seem to just let their kids scream, kick and run around anywhere nowadays, especially in places like Bubby's, where it's kind of a free for all.
Portions, big. Not bad food, festive environment, too many kids, and wow, the service, is really bad. It's a big space, and for DUmbo eating, the best location, bc then you're right at the park for hanging out under the bridge.
Nobody is really your waiter. Some unfriendly person does take your order, but someone else brings it out, and you never see either of them again. So order all of your drinks and everything the first time someone wants asks. It's your one chance- until the check comes and you've been waiting for that for half an hour.
Another reason for the 3rd star, is the Mrs. Packman in the back. Have fun and drink alcohol to drown out the kids noise.

If you've ever wanted to see children who are better dressed than you are, get thee to Bubby's. As you may know, DUMBO is primarily home to New Money, and New Money has been making babies. These babies, dressed in carefully layered cashmere, cute hats and mini-Uggs are on view at Bubby's every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am-3 pm. Try not to trip over them or get tangled in their balloons as they run screaming past. New Money will not be pleased.
So yes, "kid-friendly" is putting it lightly. But Bubby's is grown-up-friendly, too! And by that I mean KILLER Bloody Marys, chanterelle mushroom scramble, best eggs florentine anywhere, and grits! I love grits. Grits make me wish I were from the south, and had not lived 28 wasted years not having had the delicious taste-sensation of grits in my mouth.
Service can be uneven and I feel it's a little pricey to be cash only ($6 for OJ? In Brooklyn???), but once you are eating so much delicious brunchiness, you will forgive Bubby's, I'm quite sure.

What was Good: the view, easy parking, large space, good service, the biscuits, the OJ.
What was OK: Eggs w/rainbow trout, home fries.
What could be better: Toast, temperature (it was freezing).
Overall, an ok experience, would go back for the view, neighborhood and decent chow.

This was my first trip to DUMBO and the intention was to go to Grimaldi's for a piece of the best pie in NY (or at least so my sister says) but after a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge I was in no condition to wait in line for an hour for food. Bubby's was a fine alternative though brunchy food at 2:00 p.m. wasn't ideal.
The biscuits were great, the service was average and the food was moderately priced. I wished I would have ordered a burger instead of a salad because they looked pretty good and so did the pulled pork -- and I'm not even a fan. This place did the trick and luckily we had enough cash on hand to pay for lunch. I'll admit the kid:adult ratio was pretty high but not so bad considering it was the early afternoon.

Everything from their biscuits to service is delightful! I enjoyed the Gina's Huevos Rancheros with black beans, eggs over medium (the waiter's suggestion), salsa, avocado and cotijo cheese. And the home fries were tasty, crunchy on one side and starchy, potato-y goodness on the other side. I took my dad there this morning at 10:30a, which was a great time to go at. I'd definitely recommend!
Have to add: the crispy french toast is amazing and not available all the time. It's my all-time favorite place because of its location, staff & above all, the food. I would like to throw an event there, and I'm excited to read the review from someone who had their wedding there. Seems like the PERFECT place for that.

Brought my girlfriend to DUMBO for superfine which I had read good reviews on. Superfine was not so fine since it was not open. Why they were not open mid-day Saturday is beyond me, but I asked a local passing by for a suggestion. She replied that her and her companion were going to Bubby's and that we should follow. So we did and Bubby's did not disappoint. It sits unassumingly on the waterfront betwixt Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge. The space is large and inviting. The food, delicious. Had the eggs benedict and my girlfriend had apple bacon omelet both which were excellent. Would recommend this place for brunch on any occasion.

I'm not a huge brunch person, so perhaps I'm not the best person to opine on the matter, but I say without hesitation that Bubby's is NYC's best brunch spot ever! Maybe it's the faux down-home charm and southern-influenced menu that reminds me of my redneck past. Maybe it's the delicious bloody marys or city's best eggs Florentine. Or the proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge park and stellar views of the city.
Whatever it is, I'm completely sold on it. I've been three times, and each time we got right in for week-end brunch. It's a little pricey, and the cash-only policy is a little annoying, but it's completely worth it.
Every time I've gone there, my eyes have been larger than my stomach, so I habitually make the mistake of ordering the cheesy grits in addition to the eggs Florentine. The grits are terrific, probably better than 90% of the grits I ate when I lived in the south. And the eggs Florentine are the best I've tasted. I'm a bit of a creature of habit, so that dish has become for brunch spots what mint juleps are to cocktail bars: a metre-stick by which to measure quality. So far, nobody has stacked up to Bubby's.
Be sure also to try the bloody mary. I'm inclined to describe them as "bloody brilliant", but well, you know...
All in all, go to Bubby's, get blown away by the food, temper your hangover with some great brunch drinks, and then go lie out in the Brooklyn Bridge Park for a nap with somebody special. Lovely.

I like this location better than the Tribeca location-nestled right near the Manhattan Bridge overlooking the water. Ample seating we were whisked to a table right away. I appreciated that we were seated in a pocket of adults although there were hip kids everywhere.
The food was pretty good-not the best brunch ever but respectable. The service was the weak link it took multiple requests for more water. Prices are kind of steep. I did not get to sample any pies which was a bummer.

Total romper room. If you want to spend an evening with parents who bring their children to restaurants and let them run around like it's a McDonald's playland, then this place is for you. The screaming infants are also a nice touch.
On a non-sarcastic note, the cocktails are pretty good.

This is a terrific semi-loud place to grab a good weekend lunch. It's
primarily American food but done well. The portions are very good
siZe, the view and the nostalgic atmosphere is charming and the
service is splendid.
I would highly recommend walking in the park before you eat to build
up the appetite and going for a walk after the food, otherwise you
will be totally out.
Lots of kids and lots of entertainment for kids so it's easy to bring
a baby to this restaurant. Very enjoyable and tasty American cuisine.
