Review from Kristine Y.
Los Angeles, CA
Keith (the owner) contacted me the same day I posted my review below to apologize and figure out how to resolve the situation -- I'm very impressed! Apparently my first experience with Bubbly Paws was not an accurate reflection of the business. My dog had her first haircut and bath at Bubbly Paws today and she looks and smells very clean and neat. The facilities are cute, clean, and modern, and the groomer did a good job with my wiggly puppy. We'll be back.

Review from L. B.

I started of LOVING this place, but I agree with another post that the staff seem bored and I wonder about the management/owner because it seems like the attitude there is slowly slipping and the staff are starting to seem unhappy; then they don't treat you so well.
So my last several visits have slowly degraded and I just washed my dog at home so I wouldn't have to deal with any attitude. I didn't realize how unhappy my last visit must have made me until I was cleaning up the mess and not minding compared to being in an environment with people acting like they don't want to be there.
All in all I would say my first visits were a 5+stars with a "Yeehaw baby, this is awesome", and then they worked down to 1star and a big dose of "I'd rather not deal with it". The average then being right in the middle, a three.
It's a great concept. My dog does well with their shampoo. But I suspect there is a management problem. I hope it gets better.
-UPDATE: I went back, service was better. They ran out of hot water which was rough on our old dog, had some email exchange with the owner, and I'm not sure what to think of that, but our dog is clean, and ultimately that's what we want out of the place.Comment from Keith M. of Bubbly Paws Dog Wash 2/1/2012

Again, the owner is making up fantastical information. Bubbly Paws was the ONLY business I even walked into, so how I've done "the same thing" to someone in the area is libelous and absurd, since it is patently false.
When I picked up my dogs, Jessica and staff told me that everything was great, wonderful, went well, gumdrops and lollipops. If a dog had a "serious ear infection" and the groomer said nothing about it, I question the competence of any such groomer that does not inform an owner of ANY potential issue. Furthermore, cutting a dog with clippers, not informing the owner and then blaming it on the dog....so unprofessional that I am going to let that speak for itself. I wish I could post a picture of the cut.
As far as my review, I am attempting to give an impression based on my experience. If someone is happy with the job done for them, do what works, but since the other reviews do not come close to capturing my experience, I felt that I needed to put it out there.
As for the emails I had with the owner, his responses were indeed "craziness." However, I would advise him not to resort to ad hominem attacks on his (former) customers. Not good business practices... A poor job done and when this is pointed out, defensiveness and counter-accusations are all you get. At least now you've been warned.
Keith said, "We do believe in making every customer 200% satisfied every visit, but there was seriously no hope and we tried our best (without feeding into her craziness)." I WOULD HAVE SETTLED FOR 100% - BUT KEITH IS NOT CAPABLE OF GRASPING THE CONCEPT.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Sarah and Jessica are so friendly every time we go to Bubbly Paws with our two pomeranians!!
They always know our pets names and they go out of their way to make sure that we are having a great experience. Last time we were there, Jessica pulled me aside and gave me some pointers on grooming my dogs at home!
It's a wonderful place to bathe your dog with comfort and the welcoming staff makes it fun to go every time. It's like the Cheers of dog washes....who doesn't want to go where everybody knows their name? -

We took my friend's dog here after letting him run around in the dirt and swim in swim in the Mississippi at the Minnehaha off leash park. Great products, easy to use tubs and friendly staff. Wallaby the dog was a bit put off by the bath but the facilities certainly made it easy for us humans to get him clean! He smelled (and felt!) really wonderful afterwards.
The only wish would be for them to also have a non-industrial strength blow dryer available. Wallaby was completely freaked out by the noise, so we wound up towel drying him instead. -

Bubbly Paws is as good as it gets when it comes to dog bathing and grooming! The place is gorgeous, impeccably clean, and bright. We brought our pug in here last Sunday for the first time. Great tubs, shampoo products, and drying room. Rose, the staff person working that day, was very pleasant and helpful. Of course, our pug enjoyed the extra treat from the treat jar on her way out:)
No mess in our home from washing our dog in the tub! We will be coming back for sure!Comment from Keith M. of Bubbly Paws Dog Wash 3/13/2011

As others have noted, the facility is very clean and bright. There are always ample towels around, and the staff is more than helpful if needed. I like that they have a separate room for drying, although they do need to have something other than an industrial strength dryer that would make our pooches less nervous. The price is fair for what you get, I definitely will be back!

Pretty swanky--though I'm no expert when it comes to dog wash venues. My impressions? It's an expensive though convenient way to shampoo your pooch, and Bubbly Paws allows you to do it in some style. The place has big windows, so it's bright and pleasant inside. The staff seemed a bit bored to me, but they were friendly enough. I doubt Bubbly Paws will make a convert out of your average dog ("a bath? I don't need a bath! I hate baths!! besides, I just bathed in the lake--even rolled in that dead fish for perfume!!!"), but it's likely to be easier on you than the home version.

I am a huge fan of Pampered Pooch Playground & was so excited to see they were opening another business! I stopped by with my Westie/Bichon Mix on their first day open & was very impressed. My dog hates baths & always makes a mess of our bathroom, so it's great to have a place to bring him and not have to worry about it. The staff was great & the facility is GORGEOUS! I will definitely be coming back...especially in the spring when mud is everywhere! :)

My English setter, Maggie, loves loves loves to run and loves to get dirty. Whenever we're at the Minnehaha Falls dog park, it's a foregone conclusion that she will be a dirty but happy dog at the end of the hour. Bubbly Paws is the perfect antidote. Moderately priced, bright and sunny space, bright and sunny staff, with spa-like high tubs that make dog-washing a breeze.
