Too bad their espresso is so poorly executed and their bubble tea so meh... being right across from the Water Taxi, and therefore being the only coffee gig within walking distance of cold/impatient commuters, they COULD have a goldmine on their hands. Alas, it's such a paltry offering, I can only say, grab your coffee elsewhere before heading down to the Water Taxi. You'll likely be disappointed in your bad brew otherwise. And don't even get me started about the service. Yikes. Terrible.

You guys have got to be kidding me. Seriously yelpers...4 stars? This calls for a *DOUBLE FACE PALM*.

    1. The place looks nothing like the picture that was posted. Perhaps this is their new location?

    2. There's nothing to dig about the vintage furniture/chandeliers. They're old and dusty. The chaise lounge chair on the right side of the store? It looks filthy. So does the Razor scooter underneath it.

    3. Outdoor seating is not the greatest. The seats are covered with dirt and dust.

    3. Bubble tea made with fruit powder. Ugh.

    4. So called "banh mi" (vietnamese-style baguettes) are not what they're suppose to be. Let me explain. Number 1. Jalapenos should be thinly sliced...not roughly chopped into thick chunks. I accidently bit one and it was not pretty. Number 2. Regular mayo from the jar is a no-no. It should either be homemade (which is more yellow in appearance) or pate should be used instead.

    5. I'm not sure where they get their croissants/desserts but I tried the brownie and they were stale.

    6. Service was decent. The girl was polite but not very talkative.

I have been a lover of bubble tea since going to high school in San Jose, CA and hitting up local bubble tea shops and Asian markets every day after school.

This place is the cutest little shop, with funky decor and friendly baristas...If you don't mind waiting a little longer than usual to get a tasty beverage, since usually there's only one person working at a time.

All of their blended smoothie beverages that I've tried so far have been delicious!!  The green coconut is my favorite, with either regular pearls or lychee or mango jellies.  They have such a great selection of flavors, and you can combine any of them together.  I usually ask what their recommendation is, or whether they think 2 or 3 particular flavors would taste good together.  The result is always yummy!  I have branched out from the regular tapioca pearls, which are my stand-by, but those sweet little fun-shaped jellies are the bomb!  The mango ones I believe are shaped like stars....just divine.

Haven't tried their food here yet, as I'm always in the mood for fish 'n chips when I'm over on Alki, but will definitely try it based on the reviews here.

I love Bubbles. Good veggie/vietnamese sandwiches (which is all I ever order, really), friendly staff, decent smoothies. I didn't even like bubble tea before, then I tried it here, and I loved it!

Also, they have great decor: unique local art on display, and they play great cool music inside, which is fun to chill out to as you stare at the fake fireplace and the real orchids.

Thanks for sticking it out on Delridge, Bubbles. You are a sweet thing.

(Update: The name of this place changed to Pearl's, but everything about it is essentially the same.)

I can't find their address listing @ their new Delridge location - probably because it's still pretty brand new, but I just had to add my two cents about this chain of establishments.

Keep in mind, I've never tried any of their delectable looking eats, but I can, without a doubt, say that they have the best bubble tea that I've EVER tasted.

Iced sour green apple bubble tea?! Ooooh, that stuff tastes soooo good. Not overly sweet, but just right. My brother's wife loves their iced lemon bubble tea too.

I've tried bubble tea all over Kitsap County and even in Tacoma, none of the others compare. This is the first place I've been to where they don't insist on adding that - at least to me - awful cream powder to the mix or (even worse) grinding it all up into more of a smoothy than an iced beverage. The boba is definitely nice and fresh (instead of crunchy and old looking like I've seen at other establishments) too.

Check 'em out if you haven't already! ;-)

I hope this is the right listing for Bubbles on Alki because there is a picture of Pearls on Delridge (and I love Pearls on Delridge)

Anyways, I'll get to the point Bubbles on Alki sucks. I'm sorry, but the way they make bubble tea is not what's up. I could still taste the powder in the drink. Gross.

The service sucks, my boyfriend and I were waiting five minutes while the girl was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge us. She didn't apologize for the wait (we were the only ones in there).

Seriously? This place is small... you're going to notice when someone is in the place. This girl was not professional at all, and from that point on I've decided I'm never ever taking my business there again. I judge a place on customer service, and this... this place did not make the cut. Bye!

I've been hearing friends rave about the chai here for months, and a friend and I decided enough is enough and were going to try it for ourselves.

Neither of us are fond of the chai taste so we definitely were skeptical.

Oh, but that first sip of liquid heaven and we were sold. I had gotten orange syrup in my chai latte and she had gotten raspberry syrup, and both were simply delicious.

So delicious, that it couldn't possibly be good for my body. BUT it is oh, so good for the soul, and a perfect way to end a day.

Cute little bubble tea cafe on Alki near the Alki Crab Shack.  They have chandeliers and some cozy vintage couches inside and a few small tables out front.  I love bubble tea and always crave it when I go for a walk along Alki so I was very happy to find this place!  Bubbles serves their tea in three versions: hot or iced milk teas and smoothies.  I like a classic black milk tea and Bubbles' recipe is pretty tasty, not too strong in the black tea flavor so there is no bitter aftertaste.

As the only option for bubble tea on Alki, people might come here because there isn't anything else around but Bubbles is a nice place to get tea in its own right.  They also serve vietnamese sandwiches here, perfect portable picnic food.

When the Elliott Bay Water Taxi (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) is running, I stop into Bubbles on Alki to get my morning coffee. The staff is nice, the coffee is great.

Note that they offer a couple of specialties:

    * Various types of bubble tea (thus the name of the place)
    * Vietnamese sandwiches, delicious and inexpensive - well, for Alki.

We have went to this place before and got a Bubble Tea while walking on Alki beach, nothing better than that! This time we tried the Vietnamese sandwich with jalapenos and mayo! Yummy, yummy! The gal behind the counter, beautiful young blond, she was such a sweety and so kind to us! We will be back!

Bubbles is quite bubbly. The inside I mean, and not the drinks. Although their drinks did have tapioca and star-shaped mango jellies- which made feel like a black hole sucking in stars.

The inside is lovely. Heart shaped-wired chairs, the sound of Metric singing softly overhead, an antique-looking wire framed couch, small jeweled chandeliers, a menu written up entirely in chalk/crayon, pieces of art scattered about, &the entire space is half the size of a bedroom.

The drinks weren't half bad either. I didn't try the food, but I had Matcha milk tea iced, and it was tasty! My buddy had the same thing blended, and it tasted like green tea ice-cream.  Besides a nail salon on one a block away, and a tavern another three blocks away, there aren't any coffee or tea places within the vicinity. sooo yay for bubbles!

I love BUBBLES!  Their bubble teas, coffee and sandwiches are delicious and they are really fast and friendly.  Its an adorable little place to go chat with friends before walking the beach.

I recommend the peach mango bubble tea or the the midnight bliss. Also the Tofu sandwich, BBQ sandwich... if you wanna try something different the Lychee vanilla bubble tea is so good... taste like roses I swear, its one of my favorites!

Also, If you watch your weight the girls working there know all the secrets to cut the calories of your bubble tea in half.  Ask them to replace the creamer with 1% or soy and to use splenda.  They are always experimenting and know great substitutes without sacrifice flavor.

Bubbles is a unique place and the best place i've been for Bubble Tea. Its right in the middle if the east side on West Seattle on Harbor - right across of the foot ferry dock, which makes it accessible to you folks in Seattle. Its the perfect place to stop if you are on a bike and coming or going on the complete alki beach circuit. Many folks don't realize their food is excellent too - Vietnamese sandwiches, the BBQ pork is especially good. Their Chai tea is really good too.

Its pretty small and thats its only disadvantage. The decor is funky and cool. The staff has always been helpful and fun.

GREAT service and really good coffee.  Yet to actually have bubble tea there but I'm sure it would be great.  The people who operate this place and those that work there are very nice and always fast.

I heart this place. Can't tell you how excited I was to find an authentic bubble tea joint that's not in the ID. I've tried some places in White Center and another one on Alki, and wasn't impressed. So I was happy to have stumbled upon this place. Good stuff.
