What can I say....as long as people are civil/friendly and do their job with some care, I'm happy. I like this place! The people are friendly and they do their job. Sometimes the drinks are sweeter than other times, so there is probably a consistency issue, but 'ya know....it's only a drink. Sometimes the parking is tough, especially on a weekend, but it's in a huge mall, so just park farther & hoof it on over. They have tons of flavors and ways to imbibe the sweet fruity flavors of "BOBA" as one reviewer explained to us. OMG! CHILL freaked-out BOBA girl!
Boba or Bubble, it's not milk or anything real dairy...just a little cold artificial flavored drink with either jellies, or bubbles, or maybe have it warm if you like it better that way. It's fun after shopping for a refresher, or if walking around the area on a warm day. The place is usually clean, the staff are usually quick, the wait is usually short, and it's cute. I've only had 1x where it's had so-so bubbles. But then, I only come 1x every 2 months. We come for it as a treat, which is what it should be...a light drinkable treat.
Now, go try it .....and don't expect soooooo much. This is not a health place people, just a cute little drink shop in a HUGE shopping mall. Try one of the fruity or flower flavors (I love the Rose snow bubble) and sit down for 10 minutes. This place probably won't wow you (unless you have been locked away in a dungeon) , it will however allow you to refresh yourself, and continue on with your day. Isn't that the goal? -

I first fell in love with bubble tea in Texas, where I drank this stuff by the gallon. As far as I'm concerned, bubble tea is like the nectar of the gods, and I was blessed enough to live right down the road from a teeny tiny hookah joint that was like the beverage equivalent of Mount Olympus.
I remember reading that it was a huge deal, stateside, in the Pac Northwest, so when I moved up here I was immediately on the prowl. I prefer floral flavors and matcha for my bubble tea, and they have BOTH!, so I was super stoked to give 'em a shot.
First strike? They only offer non-dairy creamer...that contains dairy protein. I'm a vegan, so this ruled out milk teas for me. I went instead for a simple jasmine green tea, and it was pretty tasty.
On return visits, I started noticing that the consistency of the drinks was...off. Sometimes, they'd be super sweet -- especially if I got crazy and added a flavor, as I did once with lychee. On other occasions, they'd be almost completely unsweetened. Sometimes there were chunks of what I'm hoping was sugar at the bottom of the drink, even after furious Shake-Weight style mixing.
My last visit put the nail in the coffin, though. There was a ton of...jasmine?...green tea?...at the bottom of both drinks I ordered. It harshed the mellow of my bubbles, man.
I'd appreciate more consistency, and the option of a plant milk. Bubble Bubble Tea is a bit of a hike for me -- about a 15 or 20 minute drive -- and I can't justify the trip for such hit-or-miss quality. -

I'm re-writing my review after having had a decent amount of experience with this place.
The place itself is neat and has comfortable seating. There's only one girl I've met here that I actually like because she is always extremely helpful and kind in offering ideas on what to get. The rest of the employees are kind of distant or lacking connection with their customers and I've not been very impressed.
It's somewhat expensive. If you don't specify you want the smaller size you automatically get the bigger, more expensive one. The bubble tea itself is sickening its so sweet. I've had them make a custom order avocado smoothie (which is my favorite thing to get at bubble tea joints on the regular) and it pretty much tasted like water. The boba, however, almost always has a rad consistency and is pretty tasty.
It's frustrating because it really depends on who you get how awesome your drink will be. It is the only bubble tea joint in the area, so that's neat, but really... drive to Portland if you want the real deal. -

I've been craving milk tea with GOOD boba, so I was elated to see the sign for Bubble Bubble Tea! I walked right in, and ordered an almond milk tea with boba. I judge boba joints based upon the consistency and taste of their boba , and this place does it well. The boba was chewy (not hard or slimy) and not too sweet - good work!
Here's a tip: When you order make sure you indicate what size you want, otherwise the register will charge you for the bigger and more expensive size. Kinda shady since they don't ask you what size you want. -

Just average bubble (or boba) tea joint. Nothing spectacular but not bad either.
On a side note, they were out of ice and could not do smoothies when we went.... -

I am not a fan of powder plus milk and tea.
The service is definitely slow. Hire more workers!

While the spot is cool and the service is friendly, the bubble teas are lacking. I got probably one of the worst Taro bubble teas I've ever tasted. It was brown and tasted more like coffee, and had chunks of powder still floating around. To get your bubble tea fix, I'd look elsewhere.

Everyone who works here is super friendly and if you go even a couple of times a week, they remember your drink order.
The boba are hit and miss. Everyone once in awhile they aren't cooked all the way and are hard and dry in the middle but they're usually fine. Sometimes they are sweet and sometimes flavorless, I prefer sweet so I wish they were always cooked like that.
They have tons of flavors but I haven't tried more than a couple because I'm stuck on my favorites. The only complaint I have is the amount of flavoring each employee adds can be inconsistent so sometimes it's not as flavorful as other times. I wish they would all use the same amount so I can adjust to taste. Love this place!! -

I like original milk tea with boba or pudding. In Socal, we have Quickly and they actually sell really good milk tea with boba for 98 cents. Ever since I moved to Portland, I've been trying to find a substitute and off I went to Bubble Bubble Tea. Their milk tea is pretty good, I wouldn't say great but good enough to satisfy my craving. I've tried Fat Straw and other bubble tea places in downtown Portland but I like bubble bubble tea most. :) I really like their pudding too! Milk tea with pudding.... Mmmmmmm :)
Oh yeah, and their staff are friendly too :D -

I'm the type of girl who is a fan of squishy, tasty balls, but enough about my personal life....
I love Bubble Tea, and having lived in one of the most Asian-dense areas of the US, have experienced some seriously kickass bubble tea in my time.
Is this the most authentic place? No, but I don't think it's trying to be. These cafe-type bubble tea places are popping up all over the place nowadays. The music, the atmosphere, and the way they prepare their drinks (read: the sweetness some people mentioned) definitely speak to that. I know this will bother some, but I don't mind.
Look, it's a drink in a SEALED container. You drink it with a HUGE straw. There is a PANDA (see the picture I uploaded) which eats your trash. The novelty of it all is reason enough to keep coming back. -

This is the worst Bubble Tea I've ever had in my entire life.
I ordered the original hot milk tea with tapioca and it is so gross. The drink is super dooper watered-down. I could barely taste the tea, and they even used the wrong tea. The tapioca are obviously cooked in water, not rock sugar (which is what they're suppose to do-to add flavor). And the tapioca balls weren't even cooked long enough (it was hard in the center). Also, they used regular sugar to sweeten the drink (they're suppose to use syrup or condensed milk).
Sigh, I am very disappointed. If they can't even get the original drink right, I wouldn't even give them a second chance and try the other drinks. I can make better bubble tea than this!
This is what bubble tea is suppose to be like:
1) You have to cook the tapioca in hot water with rock sugar.
2) You NEVER put sugar in bubble tea, only condensed milk and syrup.
3) Make sure you use the right tea.
4) The tea should take up 2/3rds of the cup, 1/3rd for the milk.
5) The drink has to be slightly creamy, not watery.
*I don't get why everyone is raving about the tapioca when Bubble Bubble Tea don't even know how to cook them right.
But then again, I probably got spoiled after going to Pearl Fever in Vancouver, BC.

What a disappointment bubble bubble tea....how in the world is this place the best of the best or even up to par? Im from Texas and we have even better bubble tea and that's saying a lot.
I ended up getting the hot taro milk tea and it was not good at all and not worth it for the price. The server wasn't even good at suggesting any recommendations, she was really unhelpful and useless. -
Review from Pooja B.
I am a big fan of bubble tea - but I found the tea here to be a bit very dilute ...and little expensive. They use some kind of powders for the flavors and I dont know if it is natural or artificially made. But I still keep going back for some reason..may be until I find something better.

it's "BOBA" not "bubbles"
that's just to make it sound appealing to the mostly "lighter" population -

Portland, OR
Best boba I've ever had? No. However, I do love this place for it's low-key atmosphere, friendly staff, and large selection of flavors. It's extremely hard to find a boba place that can do everything well, and this one misses the mark on its limited sizes for hot milk tea and the hot milk tea sometimes being only lukewarm!
One thing I do find particularly nice is that the boba flavors I have had so far (Japanese green tea, almond, and chai) are not overly sweet. The almond was by far the most surprising, as that flavor is often served so sweet you can hardly make out the almond flavor!
I have never had my boba undercooked here, although I do not know if they reuse their boba (you can tell if the boba freezes in the cold drinks it has absorbed too much water), which is my pet peeve because the boba becomes unbearably gross.
Overall, a solid place that I frequent and would recommend to others. -

I can't really write this review without sounding like a pervert of some sort so I'm just gonna say it. This place has really good tapioca balls. I've been cravin for some kind of boba drink since I'm not sure where to find them here and I'm very particular about the texture of the balls. Their balls are soft, sweet and chewy, just the way I like it. I hate it when some places don't care about the quality (tastes like a day old; too firm) but when they do, it's delicious. Their balls are a little on the small, piddly side, as I'm used to having much bigger (tapioca) balls to suck through the straw but they hit the spot nonetheless. I've only been here once for their bare bones basic milk tea so I can't really say much for their other flavors on their super extensive menu.
I just think it's strange that you have to pay extra to get balls in your dranks! -

This place sucks.
1. Rude service, the girl was not happy with her job and took it out on us.
2. Powdered bubble tea, not real flavor. All artificial. Make it a $1.50 each not $2.50
3. Disgusting buns. Don't ever get buns here. It was microwaved to grossness. The skin turned hard like a rock, and the inside exploded when I crunch into it.
4. The place smelled like detergent, WHY!? Did you just clean it with pine-sol?
That's enough for me to give it just one star. Instead of negative one. Everyone should avoid this place at all cost. Though I heard the one in Hillsboro and Woodstock is good. -

The lady that works here seems to really hate her job. I normally go to the bubble bubble that is on the SE side of town (either the one on Woodstock, or at the Fubon plaza) and I order the same drink every time... and once I got it, it wasn't the right order. She remade it, but she was very mad about pleasing her customer. The second time I went there with my co-worker again, I asked for the same drink I always order.. and once again, she made it wrong. This time she started yelling at me and said that I don't know how to order the drink, I guess she remembered me.. LOL! She yelled at me and said that I was costing the store money buy remaking the drink that I ordered wrong.. whatever! She just needs to learn how to make the drink correctly.. which is a yogurt smoothie basically with tapioca in it.
Besides the service being crap, the tapioca always seems to be under cooked. Oh how I miss Tapioca Express and Quickly in California! -

Portland, OR
I had the vanilla milk tea with bubbles (i dint understand why someone would come here and not get the balls. well, i did see people ordering the yogurt slushies and they did look good.)
So yeah, it was good, standard bubble tea from a chain.
But who can resist a drink in a sealed plastic cup? I love those things. I'd like to invest in a sealer machine for my home. -

Portland, OR
This was my first and probably last time I'm visiting this place. I usually give second chances, but with far better places in Portland...I don't think I need to.
Staff was friendly, I'll give them that. But that won't keep me coming back....I come back for quality and that's certainly not what I experienced.
The menu is huge and very extensive but I decided on one of my favorite drinks: Green Milk Tea w/ Tapioca. The drink was so artificially sweet it really detracted from any hint of tea in the drink. The tapioca was overly cooked and was really soft and squishy. I had a hard time initially because the tapioca had actually clumped together and had no way of making it through the straw.
I finished about 1/4 of my drink before I began to feel sick from the sweetness and couldn't continue any longer. My sister's original hot milk tea wasn't rating high either so we spent time outside seeing who could shoot the tapioca through our straws the furthest.
Mature, I know. But I was determined to get something out of this drink if not just pure cheap entertainment. And for the record, I won. -

The tea was spot on for a hot summer day and the balls were soft and chewy but a little on the small side. The only complaint I have about this place is that they didn't give me enough ammunition to go along with my tea.
How far can you spit a tapioca ball?
My record is about 1.5 car lengths....
+1 star for free wifi and friendly service. -

I didn't understand their milk tea concept and my friend suggested I get it without the milk, so I decided on a melon? flavor green tea. I didn't taste the melon and it was pretty sweet - maybe next time I'll go for half the sugar - and a little too cold, but the bubbles were great.
Yum tapioca pearls, anyway. -

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for bubble tea. I was introduced to it in California and I think due to that reason, I will never be truly satisfied with anything I find here.
That being said, I've been going to this Bubble Bubble location for a couple of years. I started going after my favorite bubble tea location (Blue Sky) closed down. I have mixed feelings about this place; usually the employees are pretty nice, they're fast and they have a large range of options to chose from. But on the other hand, their bubbles are not always consistent (agreeing with whoever said they stick together), their teas do tend to taste very artificial, and they are kinda pricey. But I feel that overall for the slim-pickings that are in Beaverton, Bubble Bubble gets the job done. At least enough to keep me coming back. -

Bubble Bubble Tea is kind of like my bathroom. I need it in my life, I appreciate its function, without it my life would be a lot more difficult, but I don't really have any strong feelings for it either way.
However unlike my "bathroom," where the bath came included with everything else, "Bubble Bubble Tea" doesn't include bubbles in the cost of the drinks on their menu so I always have to pay an extra charge. I've always wondered what was up with that. -

Had a situation with a rude employee but mangement was very happy to hear about the incident and very apologetic. I appreciated that they cared since it was an odd situation where the employee was clearly stressed. Other than the rude employee our visits have been great and the kids love the snow bubble blended drinks!

The store is very inviting with nice seating and such, but the tea (I ordered green tea + pearl w/ Jasmine add-on) was, well, not that good. It's a way too sweet and feels artificial. The only worst bubble tea I'd had was in downtown Saturday market.

Super sweet artificial tasting slushie is basically what it amounts to. Too bad because it would be nice to hop on over there after I eat at Pho Van. The location is convenient but it just makes no sense for me to go back. I will give it 2 stars rather than 1 only because no one was rude to me while I was there lol.

Review from Josie V.
I might even consider giving this place two stars. Do not even think about using their bathroom. Last time I was there, it was so gross that I walked out. I only go here because my boyfriend loves this palce for their milk tea. In my opinion this place needs a MASSIVE deep cleaning. Their bubble tea is just mediocre. Their "Japanese Green Tea" is fake and loaded with artificial color. If you want real Matcha bubble tea, go to Best Baguette. There aren't a lot of bubble tea places in Portland. There is a decent one on SE 82nd and Harrison. I miss the bubble tea from the bay area where I know someone isn't throwing in massive amounts of artificial flavor and color into a rehyrdrated milk tea from a machine.

I hate to be the bad critique but hopefully this will help bubble bubble in the future. I was visiting Beaverton with relatives from CA and 4 of us got extremely sick from drinking tapioca tea from Bubble Bubble (we ordered green milk tea, passion fruit green tea and another variation of green tea - all had tapioca). Out of a large group of us, the only ones who got sick were the ones who drank tea at Bubble Bubble. Within 24 hours we had fevers and upset stomachs. I'm just recovering now, but want to put a warning out there for Bubble Bubble to manage their sanitary practices better and hopefully other folks are not negatively affected by drinking this tea.

had a bubble tea craving today so, knowing that I've never had to wait too long, I headed over to Bubble Bubble. there were a couple people in front of me and it took the server a while to take their order. after taking my order, three others were in line. being the only person working, she waited until she finished taking all of our orders before she starting making the first three (thankfully it was mine and the people who ordered right before me).
I was a bit annoyed because she left all three sitting in the blenders for a few minutes before placing them in the plastic cups. then they sat in there for another few minutes while she washed out the blenders to start the next group.
I got the banana green tea slushy and it was good but I got a horrible brain freeze while walking around trader joes (I know this isn't technically their fault but I sucked up a piece of ice instead of the tapioca). the tapioca was a bit al dente, but I was fine with that.
Bubble Bubble satisfied my craving, but I'd be willing to look elsewhere in the future. -

What this place has going for them: They do "kid" sizes, which is really the perfect amount. I've never been to a different boba place that does that. However, the problem I have with ALL west coast boba places I've been to is that they make their drinks from reconstituted powder. I lived near a Vietnamese shopping center growing up and they always blended fresh fruit. If Bubble Bubble started doing this, you bet I would be there all the time. I miss a fresh honeydew boba, but the milk tea boba at Bubble Bubble is just fine.

i come here for my boba cravings. yum.
green apple milk tea apple slushy snow all the way! or something like that....
their 3 for $1 egg tarts come out really warm, the cream puffs are frozen icy in the middle.
they also have fried chicken fried tofu, beef bowls and green beans and stuff. the one in Fubonn doesnt!
they should add TVs and kpop or jpop with boardgames and a disco ball so i can feel like i'm in san jose all over again. -

The guy was bored and not so happy to be open on a snow day. But, I can't complain too much, because they were open on Christmas Eve and they let us hang out in the store for 2 hours drinking our bubble tea. We got to catch up with some friends we haven't seen for a while. The lychee hot tea with bubbles was good, but I've had better.

Maybe they've changed their employees around a bit, because I've never really been treated meanly. Ditzy teenagers, sure. But they sure know how to make a boba. Also, they must staff a lot of people because I think I've seen maybe ten different people behind the counter in the few months I've been going here. Their bubble tea is very good! In fact, I'm going there right now to order a taro-almond smoothie with rainbow jellies. Sounds weird, but it's PERFECT!
