Review from Cynara S.
Bubba's has a lunch plate for a ridiculously reasonable price. The portions are huge and the food was, for the most part, pretty good. If you are a fried dill pickle aficionado, do yourself a favor and order some. My picky teenager daughter could be a professional fried dill pickle eater (if there was such a thing) and she says that Bubba's fried dill pickles were some of the best she's ever had. Our waitress was great and we succeeded in stuffing ourselves past full. The quick run-down....Fried Fish, good. Fried Shrimp, good. Stuffed Crab, alright. Fried Chicken Salad, huge. Blackened Fish, pretty dang good. Fried sides, good too! (Our fault we ordered most everything fried...they do have other options) You will be well-fed (as we say in the south) at Bubba's. And, if you can go for lunch you can be well-fed for a very small amount of money!

We were waited on immediately; however they sat us in the back with NO other guests by exit sign & kitchen????
The front wasn't 20% full.
You guess it! We're Africa
American and of course we left as they sarcastically said have a good day.....
Stay away from this place and after leaving we checked the rating and it was BAD.... -

Bubba's is one of our favorite places in gulf shores. Friendly service, great crab legs and great Bubba's margarita's. Will be back next year!

We had our dinner waiting for us at the condo and went out for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Lucky us, we caught the happy hour -- $3 Margaritas and $2.50 drinks (vodka&tonic, more tonic than anything).
Fried crab claws were meaty and tasted good and that's where we should have stopped or gone for a repeat. After that, we ordered steamed oysters --- ok, I know, the BP spill etc.. they were the size of a garbanzo bean, I kid you not. About $9 for 12 of those felt like highway robbery.
Then we ordered another round of drinks and a fried seafood platter ($10.95) --- greasy. Stacy G. who reviewed the same place 1 yr ago was right about the grease and nothing has changed.
We should have gone to Jake's next door instead. (BTW, both restaurants are owned by the same person/ ppl). Never again! -

We had a good time at Bubba's! We got a ton of food for the price. The crab cakes especially were delicious! The house salad was more than just lettuce. It took a minute for our waitress to get to us, but after that she was very attentive. We would definitely go back, but would probably order only one meal and split it.

The Bama shore is awash with fried seafood joints. This is one that is best avoided. The prices are steep and the seafood greasy. I know I know, it is fried, right? Sure, but it is possible to make fried stuff that isn't greasy!
I tried the grilled shrimp... greasy
My wife tried the AYCE popcorn shrimp... greasy
My kids split a fish dinner (since the kids menus were crazy expensive). It was perhaps the best thing at the table.
My wife's pina colada was watery and certainly not worth the money spent on it.
All in all, we spent more money here than at Sea N Suds the night before. We also got less food with more grease. Did I mention the grease? Stay away. -

Shrimp 4 ways, good, but the boiled shrimp were well fed and needed the de-veining desperately. Efforts to find the waiter to get water, etc so i could clean the delicious little devils was hell in itself. The disappearing waiter, bad. I realize it's the off season, but 1 server for an entire restaurant, give me a break.
Friend shrimp, very good. My only complaint is the size of the shrimp, small. There's plenty of the larger sized shrimp available from the local shrimp boats. -

Food wasn't bad but they wouldn't let us substitute sides (of equal price) on the platter on special. Also didn't communicate the $5 charge for splitting. Probably won't come back since it wasn't anything special.

This place was terrible. Walked in and no one was waiting so the lady asked how many and I said table for four. She replied it will be a ten minute wait. Two parties of four walked in behind us and they were seated right away. Yes you know what happened next. Left that place. If food is like service then I would go somewhere else.

Nice seafood close to many hotels. Slighty pricey but normal for tourist area. Lunch special isn't on the menu but a good value
