Seriously. What the hell is going on here? This place has been around for ages and every time I come out to JH my family and I ask ourselves why? This places is awful. Eighth level of hell awful. The food is absolutely terrible. Bubba's does to bbq what taco hell does to Mexican Food.

The ribs are unevenly cooked, the pulled pork and brisket is over cooked to the point of mush. The "garlic toast" has as much actual garlic as vampire's feast (none). Chemical laced garlic salt, yes. The kids mac'n'cheese is straight out the box, the blue one. The potato salad is bland, stale, and an absolute assault on the palate. The baked beans, avoid. You could 1000 x's better by opening and heating a can of Bush's.

If you have ever been to or even heard of any actual bbq restaurant from either Texas, North Carolina, Memphis, Kansas City, Kentucky, Nebraska, Colorado, or New York City you have either experienced or know of better. Don't go here.

Yeah, they own the building and they're not going anywhere. Just don't go in. Please. Wake up America!!!

We stopped in to Bubba's sort of on a whim, after driving around town and not seeing anything else that particularly struck our fancy one evening. We were seated prompty, yes at a picnic table but it's a barbecue place people, not chez-fancy-pants. The wait staff was very friendly, they allowed us enough time to peruse the menu without feeling abandoned and even offered a couple of suggestions when we asked. I had the salad bar and some delish chili. My husband had a sort of chopped meat and bbq sauce sandwich which he enjoyed very much. I think alot of the folks who previously reviewed Bubba's haven't been there recently because they most certainly do have beer, a pretty good variety too. The price was good, the food was good, we left satisfied.

We always have to go to Bubba's for their pulled pork, beef brisket and ribs during our visits to Jackson. Would have given them 5 stars but had a BAD experience with their take-out service. The food was still  yummy as far as BBQ goes but was told it would take "10 minutes for my take-out order to be ready" - instead waited there for 45 minutes!! If you go to Bubba's, only eat in, don't do the take-out!!

Honestly, I was disappointed by this place.  The food wasn't very... warm.  The pulled pork had a clear greasy water that lined the bottom of the plate to the point where the bar b que sauce kind of bled into it.  I've eaten at plenty of bar b que places in several different states, and I've never seen... watery pulled pork.  Not sure why that would happen, but it was kind of gross and I wanted to mention it.

Also, the staff was sweeping the floor under our table while we were eating which is gross- especially since it was 3 PM, not 2 AM.  Wait till the section is empty, ok?

Went here fr breakfast this morning based on other's reviews. We had the biscuits and gravy and it was OK. A little too much biscuit. We probably should have tried the blueberry pancakes everybody talks about. The french toat was also OK. Our server was terrific and super nice. The place has an authentic feel, no frills. I'd like to go back an try the BBQ. I would say the breakfast was solid but nothing to write home about.

Ready - set - eat!

This place is fast. We put our order in and less than 5 minutes, we were inundated by some great, heart attack inducing grub! I wasn't piping hot but warm enough.

I suggest the Pulled Pork. For sides I chose the corn on the cob and the beans.  It wasn't exactly corn on the cob season but it was quite good with a little butter. The beans were great! For a little extra coinage, you can take a stroll by the salad bar. A good choice if you want to get in your leafy greens!

If you want a beer with your meal, better bring your own as they don't have an alcohol license.

You know what they say, "Good, fast and cheap -- choose two." Well, in Jackson, cheap is never an option. This place does it pretty good and pretty fast.

p.s. Actually, on second thought, their prices are normal for a BBQ restaurant. $13 & some change for a plate of beef spare ribs with 3 sides.

I'm giving Bubba's a 5 star rating for not only their food, but for the service as well.  The first place we stopped in Jackson after getting off the plane was Bubba's.  After being "on the road" for over 10 hours we were real hungry and this is the place you want to go!  Our server even made us a picture of "Sweet Tea" to help us feel at home.  Being from the BBQ belt I can say this is some of the best you will eat.

One item several reviewers have missed is breakfast.  This is THE place to start the day.  The steak and eggs are the best I've ever eaten.  My son was in the ArrowCorps5 group that worked with the US Forestry service for a week cutting new trails in the Teton Pass area.  When we picked him up he was HUNGRY and wanted to head to Bubba's for breakfast.  Don't change a thing!

I just don't get this place.  Its best features are that it isn't too expensive and has large portions of meaty stuff.  On the other hand, you sit on picnic benches and are moved in and out as fast as they can load your plate.

The food wasn't that great.  We had the pulled pork sandwich and the "famous" spare ribs - the truth is that we make them both better at home.  The corn was awful - what, is it frozen?   During summer?  The beans were good, but you can buy good canned beans.  I had a cup of coffee (see my reason below) - old school mug with a very good drip - that assured two stars.

My reason for coffee?  They do not serve beer here.  A rib place with no beer?  WTF?  They have great beer in this town.  I've had four that are as good as most NorCal microbrews - and I full-on fell in love with Moose Drool.  What better thing to wash down meat than beer?  Isn't there a law somewhere?  I just don't get it.  I saw one guy bringing in his own - which I saw was the "Jackson Hole thing to do" at Teton Thai. (BTW - I liked TT very much.)  I didn't see the guy at Bubba's drinking inside but he had a sixer of Fat Tire with one open while waiting for a table.  I assume he brought the six for further drinkage within.

Our waitress was hustling a little too fast the whole time; she hit our table four times, about five seconds on average.  Our check was ready before we were, set aside where we didn't see it, but then she whipped it out as soon as we said "finished".  She wasn't bad, but she may have been snorting meth to keep up that pace.

So, for a very quickly served large meal of decent meat-based food without beer this would be a good place.  It is also very family friendly.  If you want something interesting, thoughtfully prepared, relaxing, or with a beer then forget it.

Hoaky Roadside BBQ Haunt

I loved the name and really really really wanted to like the place but unfortunately the seats were uncomfortable, the ribs were pretty fatty, and the baked beans just did not hit the spot.  Cole slaw was flavorless and made me miss my favorite NYC BBQ haunts.  Gosh I'm hungry right now... time to order room service.

Let's just say this place is inexpensive and if you go in with lower expectations you will probably enjoy it. Salad bar looked good.
I really wanted to like Bubba's I did.  It's decent... but I've definitely experienced better.

A funny memory prompted me to review Bubba's...and, I haven't been there since something like 1998 or so.

My hubby, me and our 2 little (at the time) kids drove cross country a few times.  On one trip, we ended up in Jackson...tired and looking for a motel and eats.

Stumbled across Bubba's.  Really, the only thing that I remember about Jackson is Bubba's and all of those antlers hanging up in the park (or whatever it is).

Ordered some yummy bbq...pulled pork sandwich...mmmm....paid for the meal and bought one of their logo coffee mugs while I was at the register.

Later, on our drive home, we ended up in San Jose, California, again looking for a meal and a motel when these Cops pulled up to us in the motel parking lot and proceeded to tell us that we were in a "bad" part of town and that hookers and druggies are the only people in the motel.

YIKES!!!!  Okay, where can we go? was what the next question was going to be when one of the Cops yelled, "Bubba's!?  I've been there!!!" once he saw the coffee mug in the cup holder.  Scared the crap out of us with his excitement...

Hahahaha!  Bubba's is famous!  I'd definitely go back if I was in town.

Sadly, a fews years back, my Bubba's coffee mug broke.  Guess I REALLY need to go back, huh?!

If you are looking for large portions, don't mind sitting  on picnic benches and brining your own beer then Bubbas is the place for you.   The food was ok, I had the brisket and beans and the brisket was a bit fatty.  The beans were hot a spicy and the slaw was ok.

Now if you want a beer you are going to have to BYOB because this place doesn't sell any.  We ran across the street and picked up a 12 pack of snake river ale and enjoyed our meal.

The staff is short handed so don't get upset if your waitress is only at your table for a few seconds.  If you are looking for a quick bite while you wait for your rafting trip, then Bubbas is a great place to start.

Bubba's Jalapeno BBQ Sauce makes everything so damn good!

Seriously... Throw some of Bubba's Jalapeno BBQ Sauce on your burger (why I ordered one, I'm not sure, but I thought it would be good in Wyoming, I wasn't right), and it makes the thing so damn delicious!!!

Order a Pepsi (or whatever your non-alcoholic beverage of choice may be), and you'll get it served up in a slick lil bbq jar container like glass (I'm pretty sure it was washed before it was served), the only thing missing was the lid =P

Bubba's is my favorite place to eat in Jackson.

I have had countless fine dining experiences at Bubba's and I always leave satisfied, and usually buzzed thanks to their BYOB policy. Yep, bring your own and some of the waiterss/waitresses will even bring you a bucket of ice to keep em cool.

Favorite meal is BBQ beef brisket, make a damn fine BLT and the wings are possibly hte best ever.

Summer crowds can be intense, so bring an extra 6 pack for the front porch.

When you visit Jackson there are a few places that people mention over and over.  At the top of that list is Bubba's.  We finally made it on our last night of vacation and were so glad.  Now if you are from North Carolina I dont want to hear any comparisons -- this is a Wyoming mountain town.

Come for large portions, delicious food and to save your wallet after expensive days with outfitters of on the mtn.

Um...flat out one of my most favorite restaurants ever. Loved their pulled pork sandwich and their blueberry pancakes for breakfast were delicious. I love the down home feel of this place...but there's something amazing about Jackson Hole all together. This is one place I certainly remember about Jackson Hole. Definitely a standby of mine whenever I'm in town.  I'm usually quite indecisive when it comes to ordering BBQ, thank god Bubba's offers a sampler plate of sorts - ridonkulous portions of chicken, pulled pork, brisket, and ribs; that and a couple of generous sides (merely $15).  What can I say?  I'm in hog heaven.

Come hungry and don't forget your Alka Seltzer.

Bubba's is certainly no Texas BBQ in Castroville, CA that has sawdust on the floor and the best juicy brisket sandwiches.  I got the pulled pork sandwich, which was partially raw and managed to be both greasy and dry at the same time. I did like the jalapeno BBQ sauce which wasn't spicy but was flavorful.  the onion rings were good - otherwise the pulled pork sandwich?  meh.

I love Bubba's! avoid the town square and head west!

Between the pulled pork sandwich, ribs, pork chops, brisket,  fish sandwich, prime rib steak, chicken wings, chili, fries, onion rings, baked beans, the only thing i have to complain about is their potato salad. If you can stay away from the potato salad you'll be doing fine.

Also their portions are quite generous, not to mention their daily special.  Thursday they gave us some free peanut butter cookies, (why did it have to be peanut butter cookies?!?! don't they know i'm allergic to peanuts?!!! I don't feel comfortable puking in new places), and had 30 cent wings. Friday night they had a special of prime rib for 16$ which might not have been medium rare to order, but i don't expect perfection for 16$.

Oh! and the buttermilk pie! daaaaamn gooooood. we got a free piece for  a friend's birthday, and had to order another one the next night. Also our super friendly waitress gave us a free bag of cookies for the road.

great place to go for a last-minute dinner after a hard day on the mountain.  Portions were gigantic and prices were reasonable.  Best yet: it's BYOB! Head to the liquor store near the albertson's before dinner.

decent barbeque- sides aren't very good and not much to choose from regarding sides. Service is variable- sometimes good, sometimes not. I do like the brisket and jalapeno bbq sauce. Good breakfast - huge portions. Overall, it's a good value for Jackson. They also let you BYOB which not many know about.

Every time I drove by the place last week it was packed.  You'll often find a short wait if you go during busy times.  Just walk in the front door and sign yourself in on the waiting list.  They'll call you when your table is ready.

I got the pork/ribs/beef platter with two sides for about $13.  The meat and sides were all good so I'd definitely go back.  They have a spicy bbq sauce that is VERY good!  The beef was very tender, almost like pot roast.  Both the ribs and pork were good too.  For the food and the value, it's a good place to check out if you are in Jackson.

Leave it to me, to come to some barbecue joint and order shrimp.  Anyway, it was great, the salad bar is awesome.  But even better, is Bubba's chocolate fudge pecan pie.  I have never had anything like it.  The atmosphere is very casual, wooden booths, what would you expect from the old west?  I half expected to see a gunslinger at any moment.

Some restaurants close between summer and ski season, and a lot of open restaurant parking lots are relatively bare.  Bubba's was not, a good indication that the natives like it, and we sound out why.

I tried the pulled pork sandwich, was totally satisfied, and stuffed.  We came back a day or two later for breakfast, and were again impressed - their biscuits and gravy and omelets are super.

After a long day hiking, you are too tired to dress, and the casual atmosphere at Bubba's is just right.
