Longwood, FL
We went through the drive through last night after working late and ordered the pulled pork basket. We changed up the fries to fried okra and were pleased to find the food ready quickly and the drive up attendant was really nice.
We brought the food home and tore into it. It was great, as always, and quality didn't suffer any for the food being delivered through the drive-thru. We're regulars and will continue to frequent this location. -

This was one of the highest rated BBQ places around Orlando / Winter Springs and for some unknown reason I decided I really wanted to try Florida BBQ. Thinking that it's close to some of the good, southern BBQ states, I believed that the qualities may have rubbed off here. I don't live in the south, I've never lived in the south, hell, I lived in Ohio most my life (I suppose on the Ohio/Kentucky border though...but still). Anyhow, I have had better BBQ in the middle of Pennsylvania.
The place was okay - it had that BBQ feel that many places like this have - kind of cluttered, a little country. The menu was on one of those boards high school sports stadiums have for their snack stand. It's fine - nothing special - but it's not trying to be. If anything, the place felt a bit dirty because of this.
We ordered and the food was fairly pricey for what we got - 2.30 for 2 small jiffy corn bread muffins. Meh. Not worth it. Our food came fast, and while my pulled pork was warm, my husband's brisket was cold. The pulled pork was the best thing - while not the best pulled pork I have (mosey on down to the Spooky Cat for some awesome pulled pork on waffles - it's much better) - but the brisket was pretty awful. Salty, cold, and just not very good whatsoever. The macaroni and cheese was okay - it was a bit more buttery, but it was what BBQ mac and cheese is supposed to be - not super amazing (in my opinion). The corn bread was pretty terrible, especially for the cost.
The sauces, which are set in clear ketchup bottles on the table - mostly just taste like generic sauces with additions (like brown sugar, spice, etc etc). Also the sauce isn't warm which hurts the meal itself ( I prefer places that either warm these bottles up for each customer or give you small sides of your preferred sauce.)
Overall, this place wasn't *bad* but it wasn't good and I wouldn't go back. -

This place is very very very good. As a recent transplant from Texas this is really close to some old school souther BBQ. I was really impressed with their Lamb, and Alligator bites. It was easy to order, and the waitstaff are amazingly friendly!

We loved it. The food came quickly and it was delicious. It's certainly not as good as 4 Rivers, in my opinion. But it's much better than the rest of the bbq I've had in Orlando. I left a very happy and a very full man.
The pulled pork sandwich was hearty and delicious and the sauces were extensive. What more do you want from your bbq place? The service was great as well, enough so where it actually made an impression on me. Whenever I'm in the area, I'll remember to stop by again. -

I have to agree with Brandi B. This is the best Bubbalou's I've tried in the Orlando, area. The place is super clean, organized, has really quick service, and the food is fresh and full of flavor!
My personal favorites are the sliced beef and their spare ribs. Most of the dinners come with a choice of three sides, and I love the coleslaw, beans, and the fact that you can get sweet potatoes in lieu of fries!
I am also in love with their mustard based bbq sauce...it is so good. -

I have been to this Bubbalou's twice and like Annette E. stated this is the best one around. Elizabeth H. does have a good point that if you are bit of swinophobe you may be in the wrong place they are everywhere. As for the food, I am not the biggest fan of their pulled pork, I personally like Sonny's better. This led me to try their baby back ribs the last time. This was a very good choice, they are quite delicious and tender. Their brunswick stew on other hand is not the best.
Their side portions are on the small side, the one portion though thats a decent size is their baked beans and they are probably my favorite baked beans I have had at any BBQ place up to now.I suggest if you are looking for good ribs and beans this is the place to go. -

How this location of Bubbalou's can be SO different (as in really enjoyable as opposed to really crap http://www.yelp.com/bi...) from the Lee Road location just kills me.
These ribs are mighty good. Loved the sauce, the sides (french fries, baked beans, cole slaw, garlic toast) and the drive thru. Gotta go back and actually eat IN the restaurant, but I think this may turn out being the 5 star BBQ joint I've been searching for (http://www.yelp.com/li...).
Fingers crossed. -

The side portions are a little on the smaller side but I always end up taking leftovers home of the meat. They typically have good specials and the red velvet cake is alright (still searching for that perfect slice).
Don't go if you have some sort of pig porcinaphobia as the little creatures are everywhere you turn... always looking, always watching you eat. -

Casselberry, FL
The staff were overall pretty friendly, but the food is overpriced and not good enough to make it worth it. My husband and I went in tonight and ordered the special, which was on the board in front of the register, but that no one on staff seemed to know about? We had to be re-rung up after the cashier put in the wrong order, then we had to explain at least 3 times to 4 different people that we wanted whatever came with the dinner special (they kept asking us if we wanted the sandwich or the platter, the board didn't say anything about either), our bill was still way too high and the food was just not good. We had the "Texas Brisket" it was extremely salty, dry, crumbly brisket served on a run of the mill hamburger bun with pickles, pickled jalapenos, and honey mustard...very weird combo and actually wouldn't have been too horrible if there wasn't so much salt and mustard, but it was definitely not worth $8.99. It looked and tasted like something that could've been served as a school lunch. Also, all of the sauces on the table were either too "ketchupy" or too salty as well. Overall for a counter service restaurant, two drinks, and two sandwich baskets our total was $35, and we left feeling very unsatisfied. Next time we'd rather head to Uncle Jones' food truck or Sonny's, it's too bad we just don't have a real good bbq place around this side of town.

The Bear Necessities
Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities, lukewarm chicken causes the world strife. Miki and I ate here a couple months back and to date, it is my worst BBQ experience. The place has a cold, assembly line, feel and the food...is just cold.
"pssshfft.(insert robot voice)..please order here then proceed to the dining area...we recommend our banana pudding, have a nice day."
So after being processed, we sat down and jumped right in, as this place came highly recommended. Now, I am hoping that the food changes from location to location and this is just the bad spot because...well, the food was bad.
Served to us lukewarm/ cold, I had the meat sampler platter, as I tend to do in BBQ joints. I can wholeheartedly say, there wasn't a meat on that plate that I would bother assigning an adjective to.
I had the green beans, the mac and cheese, which were disappointing and Miki tried the slaw and Brunswick stew, which I had a bite of. This was my first Brunswick stew experience, the next time I ate it, I was surprised that it was served warm...
Bubbalou's you place last in my BBQ book, you guys at the Alta Monte location need to pull your socks up or learn to be insurance salesman.

Two words- Drive thru!! I was shocked to drive up for a take away lunch and there was a drive thru... that was fast! I usually don't have much time for lunch, if I go out at all, so now that I know this has a quick service drive thru, I will certainly return frequently!
I had the pulled chicken sandwich- delicious. Very tender meat! I prefer a bit more zing in my bbq sauce, but still very good. I ordered cole slaw and baked beans sides. I liked the slaw, but will try something different then the beans next time. There was more pork than beans, and that is not my preference.
All for under $8... a great value!! -

I've never been a fan of BBQ, people would yap about, rave about, blah blah blah. So I'm in Florida for business, some of the fellas at the local office are saying how good Bubbalou's is, im like yeah whatever, we can go there, I'm sure its overrated, but what the heck... Wow was I in for a surprise. This was some dab nab good BBQ. Heck Bubbalou, you've made me a fan of BBQ~
Seriously folks the best pulled pork sandwhich EVER! They have like 4 differnt sauces on the table for you, anytime im in florida Bubbalous is a must. I've tried other places since, but no one has come close to bubbalou's! -

Definitely quite good. I got the sliced pork sandwich with fries, beans, and best of all CORN NUGGETS. I'm on this stupid diet but said screw it to get the corn nuggets and they were well worth it. The meat wasn't as good as say 4R who I'd say get an A+ whereas Bubbalou's gets an A-, so still very good. The fries weren't anything special but they were fine and the beans were surprisingly good as well since many restaurants are well versed at screwing up baked beans. The sauces were also good, they even have sweet if you are in to that sort of thing _. My biggest complaint was the tea, it was very bitter and my other choice was Pepsi, ugh.

Well, the son-in-law and I have driven by the place lots of times and never stopped. Well, we were in the mood for some good BBQ and the couple of reviews made it seem like a place to try. You start by placing your order at the counter when you walk in. After you order they give you a spoon with a number on it and you place it on your table. Off to the drink area to fill up on Soda or Tea. The staff will drop the food off at your table once it is ready. We had the pulled pork sandwich and a basket of onion rings. Everything was very good and the next time we won't be driving by, we'll be stopping for some good Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ!

Love this place. Ever since we were introduced to it by local friends, it has become a family favorite. My 3-year-old son loves the pulled chicken sandwich. He became a fan when he first tried it at 2. We miss this place when we come back home. Food is great, prices are great. Looking forward to our next visit in a month!
We keep on joking about bringing back a whole bunch of BBQ home, but we'd probably have to sell it once we get on the plane. The wonderful smell of the food will get other passengers drooling. Guess we can really mark it up and sell to the highest and hungriest bidder! -

We were trying to go to 4 rivers but it was a Sunday and they were closed. Bubbalou's looked busy so we decided to try it. We were not impressed. Food was bland, dry and cold. I would not go back.

When I ate meat, I loved me some barbecue. Bubbalou's is the perfect barbecue place. They have picnic benches as tables, pigs everywhere, and kitschy country decor. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Overall, great bbq for an affordable price.

This place is OK. It falls into better-than-Sonny's but-not-quite-4Rivers category. Not bad for a quick lunch. (Though if the Uncle Jones food truck is setup a few blocks down 436, you may want to check that out!)

It may seem inpersonal but the food is good. I love the ribs, the pulled pork, garlic bread, and the fires are good. I like to go at least once a month if I can.

This is one of those hole-in-the wall places Guy Fieri should visit. The food is great and the service is too. Visited last January and coming again at the end of this week. Awesome BBQ!

I grew up in central Fla and this is one of the best bbq places; period. it's partly in the sauce, partly in how they cook the meat. I always hit up this place when I come home, it's in-expensive and an Orlando institution. it's hard to get good bbq up north.
Great pulled pork sandwhich...mmm.Listed in: O-Town

I am happy we found this place. Staff was friendly and the place is clean w/ large tables. You have to order at the counter top and the food is brought to you. This spot is great for families. The menu has a good selection of items. We ended up ordering a combo plate w/ ribs and chicken and we also ordered wings. Everything was so Delicious. I highly recommend. Price is reasonable and portions are a good size.
