I enjoyed my meal.  The shrimp platter I got was good.  The three sauces provided could have been better.  I love the movie so I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant.  Their smoothie was good too.  My waitress kept coming back to me and asking me questions about the movie.  Didn't really care for that experience.

    I'd eat here again.

What can I say about Bubba Gumps. Well, it's fun and marketable.
The first time we went it was a novelty,  I wanted to try everything.
I had the Shrimpers Heaven, it was great! 3 different kinds of shrimp and they were all sweet and cooked correctly. My hubby does not eat seafood, so he always has the ribs. I also had a LOTSA LAVA drink.
(I've also had Bucket of Boat Trash and Shrimpin Dippen Broth on different occasions.)
All was good but I must say so overpriced, if I wasn't on vacation, I'd be appalled. But, on vacation anything goes.
This place is good for a fun time, but spending 25$ on shrimp is a little crazy when there are much better options in Florida.
So, try it for the Forrest Gump experience but beware of crazy pricing.

I've been to Bubba Gump's a couple of times and I'm not really sure why I've returned. The food is pretty decent although definitely not the best seafood I've ever had, not even close. The food is waaay overpriced which is not unexpected because this chain has located most of their restaurants in touristy areas The service has been spotty, sometimes dead-on and other times fairly indifferent. I think the reason I've gone back is because of the atmosphere. The place is kind of fun and I like the rustic theme. The Forrest Gump theme is kind of fun as well but I can easily skip the Forrest Gump trivia games the servers try to get you to play. Fine the first time but it gets old.

The food here is kind of hit or miss. Some of the menu items I've ordered have been pretty good, my favorite being the "Boat Trash", a mixture of fried shrimp and langostino lobster served with fries in a tin bucket. The fried chicken here is also pretty good, fairly surprising in a seafood restaurant. I didn't much care for the fish & chips which, rather oddly, is served on what appears to be a pizza pan. I found the portion to be  rather small and I am definitely not a big eater. I got three rather skinny slivers of fish that were not really crispy.  The basic fried shrimp here is a can't miss menu item.

Plan to spend at least $20-25 per person with no alcohol. Like I said, it is way overpriced. If you are going to City Walk, it's probably the best place to eat that's not owned by Emeril Lagasse.

Worst service  ever. I wouldn't recommend this place. Customer service was the worst ever.
Our server Amanda took our order and did not bring what we order. Then the Manager Ryan, came over, I try to explain the issue, all he can say is sorry and did nothing to fix our rectified the issue. Still had to pay for the food I did not order.  I won't be eating at that place anymore. Very disappointed.

We had a really sweet server who catered to our every whim. The shrimp was good, but I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the experience as much if I had eaten in the depths of the restaurant rather than by the open window looking out onto Citywalk. It's like a factory in here!

This place is a fun chain restuarant.  You get what you would expect for the food from a chain, but the decor and gift shop, and unique menu items make it fun!

Every single time I've been here I've left saying, "I'll never go back."  The food is over priced, which is to be expected; afterall, the name is Bubba Gump and it's located at CityWalk.  You have to know going in your wallet is going to be raped!  For such high prices one would expect the food to be pretty darn good and it just isn't.  For me, the food doesn't even rate a 'meh' quality.

The great thing is the decor, atmosphere, and experience.  I love the "run Forrest run/stop Forrest stop" signs on each table.  I love the trivia questions the servers ask.  I really love everything about Bubba Gump except for the food.  If you've had the experience once, there's really no need to go again.

On that note, I won't be back again..... until the next time....

I LOVE Forrest Gump, so I was happy to eat here regardless of the food quality. That being said, the food was a little better than average. The shrimp was a bit fishy tasting and the quality was about the same as Chilli's or TGI Friday.  The service was really good, we had a waitress named Kourtney who waited on us perfectly. Our food was taking longer than usual so she stayed with us and quizzed us some Forrest Gump trivia.

The drinks here are pretty good. I would say a 7 out of 10. But you also get to keep your glass which is a plus. There is one opening in Jupiter soon so I will eat here again to see if the sea food is better since it will be closer to the ocean.

After running around the Universal Studios park and having a great day enjoying all the rides, we craved seafood. When you see a restaurant that has shrimp in the title, you expect that they know what they're doing. This place definitely knows what it is doing.

Not being the Forrest Gump fan (I know, probably the only person in the world that doesn't like the movie), we decide to eat here from all of the good reviews. The Forrest Gump theme is a little lame in my book but then when you think about it, most other theme restaurants are pretty lame and cheesy. The atmosphere was very positive. Could it be from the restaurant theme or are all the families are still excited from enjoying a day at Universal? Either way, it was fun.

Our server was the nicest lady who knew her stuff. She provided a few recommendations what to order and constantly refilled our drinks.

The Shrimp Po' Boy was excellent and the bread was tasty. The shrimp had a very fresh flavor and the plate came with a side of fries.  Overall the food was very filling and the price was about what to expect when being in a nice location.

This was a great way to end our first day of vacation. The drinks are yummy, the food is yummy and the location couldn't be beat after walking hours in the Universal theme park.

Super friendly with good food if you know what to order. Try the Peel n' Eat Shrimp for sure-- it's full of flavor! The stuffed shrimp is disappointingly bland. The key lime pie is very tasty and authentic!

My friends who ordered the po' boy seemed to like it.

    Limited vegetarian options here.

They're open late, and even if there's a wait, you are given a vibrating beeper.

While I was on vacation last year in Anaheim I made a point of going to Bubba Gump Shrimp and loved it. I was not aware that the location at Universal was so easily accessible as you pass directly pass it on the way to the parks.

So, I had dinner at this location and it was as incredible as my meal was in Orlando. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, incredible staff and prompt service. The prices are just about what you would expect, but seriously only marginally higher than I see at home.

You really need to go for the atmosphere and because you're at Universal. The shrimp were good. Fries mediocre. Fish batter had uncooked spots. Food in general wasn't very hot.

I am a HUGE Forrest Gump fan. I love that movie, and was so happy that I was seated directly below the picture of Jenny and Forrest walking together alongside the Washington monument. Let me also state that my husband and I were SOAKING wet from the Popeye water barge ride and they let us come in anyway.

We started off with the "Shrimper's Net Catch" and had half of the shrimp Cajun style and the other half Garlic style. They were DELICIOUS! Definitely worth the price tag for those sweet, succulent babies. My husband ordered the big bowl of Clam Chowder and he said it was "very good". I then ordered the "Kentucky Bourbon Skewers" which came with these huge, grilled shrimp and some Andoullie sausage. Probably the best sausage I've ever had.

Our waitress was excellent. She even came by and gave us some Forrest Gump trivia, which we ACED and then were told that we had won the rights to free salt and pepper for our meal. Score!

Expensive, but OH so worth it! Definitely a nice end to the evening after you've spent the day walking the 93292349 mile journey through Islands of Adventure!

LOVE, LOVE this place. Located right on the edge of Universal City Walk, you can grab a meal before you enter either of the Universal theme parks. The service was great, and the food was just excellent. You have to try the Bucket O Trash! If you can't decide on one thing, this is a great option. It's a lot of food, so maybe you can share it  and have a side veggie, like we did.

Don't forget to get a drink! They let you keep the cup. This is a fun place if you're a fan of Forrest Gump. They go crazy with the theme in this place.

I've been to this location a couple of times - always with my niece & nephew after spending some time at the parks.

I don't recall what I had the first time, but on my most recent visit I ordered the popcorn shrimp appetizer as my entree. It comes with peppers & pepperoncinis (fried as well) mixed in the bucket. I was a little hesitant as I've never been a huge fan of pepperoncinis, but BGSC has changed my mind.

We were slightly disappointed they didn't have the Chocolate Stuff on their menu like the one I've been to in Long Beach (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), but the chocolate chip cookie a la mode, definitely made up for it.

My biggest complaint would be the wait time. I realize that it's going to happen really any where you go in Orlando, especially around the theme parks. But it would be nice if they could take reservations or at least call ahead seating type arrangements.

Located at Universal Citywalk, you know it's a tourist trap and part of the experience from the moment you walk in.

There's still a special sort of appeal, though, as the themes from Forrest Gump run strong here, and it's not just Forrest Gump running continuously on the few TVs, or the license plates from Forrest Gump at the table, or anything-- it's the whole feel that is almost charming.

Food is just okay, though. Kentucky platter (shrimp and sausage skewers) is pretty good but just too much salt and butter, while the shrimp sampler meal is much of the same. It's enjoyable and tasty but just not all that good. While eating I wondered if I could blot off half the salt and butter to make the meal go from passable to good, but that just seemed too primitive. *grins*

On the plus side, it's better than the food actually IN the theme parks, and assuming they don't screw up your salad order, the experience is pleasant enough!

This dish is bomb diggity!!  Get off your budget and just get this dinner! It is quite impressive!!  The sauce, flavor, and amount of shrimp!

Superb service since anyone will stop and help you when you put the sign up that says "Stop Forrest Stop"

Many drinks come with a souvenir glass.  Don't bother cleaning yours out.  Once you finish with your drink you can claim a brand new one at the gift shop!

"my momma said life was like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get..."

I am a big fan of the movie and an equal fan of this restaurant. Why? Well  the fact that there are movie memorabilia strewn across the walls of the restaurant; the newspaper articles referring the movie acting as paper trays for the food items; the actual movie on replay on a few of their televisions; and all that shrimp can give a fan a fairly good experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

The one thing I truly enjoyed at this restaurant are is waiter staff and the way of getting their attention. If its your first visit be prepared to answer a few lighthearted questions about the movie...it's ok to not get every one of them right but if you do...well you get bragging rights for the duration of the meal.

Now for the food....shrimp, yes. Fish, yes. Drinks, YES! They have great appetizers. One of the few restaurants' that I actually look forward to eating prior to a meal. Their 'Shrimp Specials' and 'Forrests Favorites' offer a great selection to cater to what ever you crave for.

The wait may be long during the lunch and dinner times on the weekends but well worth it if you both like seafood AND the movie. Now, I would recommend this for true seafood lovers as the prices for the items do get a tad high BUT if you're into something different and fun for the whole family then it's worth a visit.

Its what you expect from a chain restaurant in City Walk.  Had the cajun shrimp which was tasty, but too oily.  I had the shrimp Po Boy - average.  Can you really mess up fried shrimp on a loaf of bread.  It would have been nice to have a spicy remoulade or something other than basic mayo.  Nice servers and atmosphere.  Its what you do after a day at Universal.

This place is sooo cool! I had a great experience and the service was amazing! Everyone helps each other's table so you're not really forced to one waiter. They have a sign that says "run forrest run" and "stop forrest stop" If the stop forrest sign is showing anyone will stop to your table and ask what you need. if the run forrest sign is up that means you don't need anything at the moment. Pretty cool concept!

    Peach Sweet Tea
YUM! It came in a huge glass! Very good! And had the right amount of alcohol in it. Some drinks come with a souvenir glass which is pretty cool. You pick it up at the end of dinner at their shop.

    Shrimp New Orleans - $17.29
BOMB!!!! I was very impressed with how many pieces of Shrimp it came with! TONS!!! The sauce it came with was sooo delicious! The only thing is they gave me barely any rice. I didn't want to ask for more cause they probably would have charged me. This dish was already expensive but it was worth it! I'd get this again but with extra rice.

3/4 Pound of Shrimpers Net Catch w/ Cajun Spice - $12.49
I liked this but you really gotta get your hands dirty for this one. I think they should offer a bib for those with bad luck with food, like me. Luckily I didn't get anything on me. It was good but I think it was a little too pricey.

Overall had a great experience! Our waitress was quizzing us about the Forrest Gump movie. It made the experience that much more fun! Make sure you have plenty of spending money because this place is not cheap!

Extremely long wait! 65 minutes even for Sandra Bullock's party :( (Instead of taking your name, they ask for your favorite actor and call these out when table are available). No blinkers given out, so you really have to watch out for the time.

Anyway, took a while to get serviced, food was delicious, shrimp was yummy and my Fresh trout stuffed with shrimp and crab was yummy, didn't think I'd finish it, but I did, just not the jasmine rice that came with my trout.

Would go there again if I happen to be in CityWalk next time. Was fun!! RUN FOREST RUN!

Yes, yes, yes! Bubba Gumps, at least this one, was one of the best experiences of our trip. We were visiting Universal Studios and decided to stop here for dinner... an ~excellent~ choice.

First, the staff. Friendly, talkative, quick to respond, etc. Even when it got busier, we still managed to have everything refilled, every request fulfilled, and our bellies just plain filled.

Second, the food. Not the best shrimp I've ever had, but pretty close. Hush pups are some of the best appetizers around. If I could just eat those constantly, I would. The gumbo was tasty as well. And the Shrimper's Heaven is where it's at.

I'm not sure where some of these 1- or 2-star people ate, but it certainly wasn't here. In fact, we enjoyed our first dinner so much we returned later that same week to bring family with us!

If you're visiting Universal then I highly recommend stopping here for food. Now run, Forrest, run!

Going into it we knew it wasn't going to be spectacular food. It was good though, how do ou go wrong with deep fried foods?

It's right at the entrance of Universal Studios so unless you're planning on going to the park, it's a bit of an inconvenience. We're dumb, so we just wanted to go :)

We started the "Run Across America Sampler" and a few drinks (Lt. Dan's Tea and Fleur de Lis). For our mains we had "Mama Blue's Southern Charmed Fried Shrimp" and the "Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi." I really don't feel like writing much about these foods because they weren't very special. This was our dinner after a red-eye flight the night before and powering through our day to fix our sleep cycles. It was nice to relax, eat greasy junk food, and wind down our day. As a bonus, we got souvenir glasses out of it too!

The Bubba Gump experience is pretty fun, our waiter was super enthusiastic, and the novelty of the restaurant off-sets the 30 minute wait. It's worth going to. Would I go again? Maybe.

I was down at CityWalk with two friends seeing Blue Man Group and after the show, they wanted to go get a steak.  Somehow, we ended up at Bubba Gump... a seafood place.   Why did they go there?  Beats me... I was just going to sit with them and get a cocktail because that was all I could afford at that point.

It was about 10 pm on a Friday night and the place was busy but not full.  They sat us down right away and our server was very nice.  In fact, all the staff was nice. The group ordered food after asking many questions which the server did his best to answer.  The person wanting the steak ended up ordering a seafood sampler platter and the other person ordered a burger.  I ordered my cocktail and my friends asked if I was going to order food... I told them no due to money... they said they were paying anyway so get something!  I ended up getting the shrimp tacos.

The food came out in about 10 min and to be honest, mine was fine.  I am trying to lose weight and this was a great dish to get since I was low in calories and fat.  Three corn tortillas filled with 4 shrimp each and some lettce.  It also came with some sour cream and salsas.  All in all, a great dish. (See the pic I posted)  My friends on the other hand, did not like their food.   I did not see or taste anything wrong with the food but they did not like it.   Too spicy... not a fresh burger... too cold... etc.  I personally think it was them but I did not say anything since I was not buying.

Oh well... I enjoyed the food and the service was good.  Not sure I would go back unless I was with others again.  Again, a theme park restaurant with Theme park prices.... but if you are at CityWalk and want to try it, go for it!

The service here was outstanding.  Everyone was having fun and was enjoying their work.  The place had a fun vibe to it.  Love the team service and using the license plates to call for assistance.

I ordered the steamed seafood bucket.  It was okay.  The clams were small, the rice was dry and overall I wasn't that impressed with it.  I wish I would have ordered their popular shrimp dinner.  It looked amazing.  Now, desert was out-of-this-world!  You must get the cookie sunday.  It was perfection.  I wanted one all to myself.

I would come here again.  The service was fantastic and the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked really delicious.

Forest Gump is one of my most favorite movies and as soon as I saw this restaurant, I started to jump with excitement! A restaurant themed after this movie is one of the greatest ideas! You must go there if you are in the area and love this great movie. It has pictures from the movie, super friendly staff that will play trivia with you and of course lots of shrimp dishes. After all, you can do everything and anything with shrimp. Of course you must have one of their shrimp dishes and even though some dish sizes appear small, they will fill you up fast :)

Call me cliche but I like this chain. They have the Gump theme coming out the ears but their food is still good. When I'm in Orlando on business (which is a lot) I like to bring my co-workers here. Mind you it's located in City Walk at Universal Studios so there is plenty to see, do, and spend money on after the parks close.
The service I've had here is always top notch even when it's packed. Last time I ate here was 3 weeks ago. I had their Shrimper's Net Catch in the garlic. Yummy. Even though I wreaked of garlic and made the people closest to me want to flee the smell - it was a great dinner.

A great place to have lunch.  Food is a tad pricey, but the ambience and staff and the food makes it worthwile.  Having been to the NY version, I already knew what to expect as far as the menu and the clever way they incorporate the movie into ordering your food (flip a license plate labeled: Run Forest Run if you don't need service, and: Stop Forest, if you need it)  Great variety of shrimp dishes to choose from along with the usual hamburger, pastas and salad.  I was also impressed with the variety of drinks to choose from.  I had a strawberry lemonade on ice and it was awesome-perfect on a hot (98 F.) day!

My shrimp dish (variety combo) was delicious.  it had 3 tempura prawns, 4 coconut, 4 regular breaded, and about 12 steamed.  I only wish we had one in Seattle!

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a bit pricey, but they do have some darn tasty seafood. And it's a welcome respite from the standard theme-park offerings.

I've only been to this particular Bubba Gump's once, but the staff were friendly, the food was good and the service was prompt. If you're hungry and enjoy shrimp and sausage, I can definitely recommend the Bourbon Skewers, which pile on shrimp, Andouille sausage and peppers and onions with a side of tasty bourbon sauce.

For two people without alcohol, you're probably looking at a $60-70 bill, depending on whether you get an appetizer.

HMMM, well I just felt it was good enough.  Great friendly service, nice casual atmosphere.  We went here twice, the first time I didn't really like my meal, since I am a shrimp lover I really wanted to give it a chance.

The margarita was good, not very strong, it came in a large shaker and a glass both packed with ice cubes, that had a lot to do with it.

People at my table were satisfied with their salads, one person had the shrimp tacos which I tasted and were really good.  Lt. Dan shrimp was ok, overcooked though.

Went back again and had the shrimpers heaven - again, good but I've had better or the same at other restaurants.  The kids ate the mac & cheese, didn't (surprisingly) like the fries.

Went for a late night dinner on a Thursday. The food was ok, you could tell it was not fresh. Way too pricy, but I guess you pay for the atmosphere. All in all, mediocre food at a not so fair price. The drinks on the other hand where worth it ;).

The service was excellent. The servers went well out of their way answering questions about ingredients in their food. If you needed something, you received it very quickly.

The bad part was the food was bad and overpriced even if it had been good. I ordered the mahi-mahi and shrimp. The mahi was overcooked and dried out, the shrimp was undercooked and chewy, and the rice was lumpy and stuck together.

    Not going back.

On our trip to Universal, we found ourselves in need of dinner so we picked Bubba's. The decor is a bit outlandish, inspired by the famous Forrest Gump.

We were seated almost immediately and our server Dan took awesome care of us. We had the clam appetizer, 2 skewer shrimp appetizer, fish and chip platter, pear and berry salad, and clam chowder between the three of us.

My pear and berry salad was awesome; I highly recommend it. I got mine ordered sans the pears, but there was still plenty on my plate: raspberries, strawberries, some kind of nut (I think it was tiny walnuts), all topping fresh lettuce (and not the iceberg kind!) To finish it off, there was a sweet and slightly tangy raspberry vinegarette on top. It was fanastic!

Restaurant chains based on a movie or Hollywood (like Planet Hollywood) usually suck.

In my opinion, all the deep fried stuff they served at this heavily decorated joint wasn't all that. Portions were small and the food was either too salty or bland. If this restaurant wasn't part of a heavily visited touristy spot, it would probably go out of business. I can say the same about most of the eateries near here.

The service was decent but the food didn't really turn me on.

Just come here for a nice stiff fruity drink otherwise go somewhere else.

    Another overpriced tourist trap IMHO.

It's a very fun place to go for dinner! The servers are all very friendly, and they make sure you have a great time while you're there.

I ordered some Rigatoni dish, and thought it was great!! But their fries were really hard, dry, and cold. The shrimp in the bucket was OK, but kind of bland. I would stick with their pastas.

But anyway, whenever one goes to these types of restaurants, it's more for the entertainment than for the food right? :)
