Randy to the rescue! Last Sunday night we were seated an waited 15 min - No Service. Screw it, that's blow this joint off our lists, and never come back.
As we were headed out the door, Randy stops us and says, "sit down, I'll take care of you personally." We had our drinks in two minutes, and hot apps in about three more. Then he did a great job scanning the floor, hitting every table and making sure the servers were on it.
I don't know if Randy is a new manager or not, but he was great. Comp'd our entire meal. We will be going back again.
If your service isn't fantastic, ask for Randy. That guy rocked.

Ugh.  Formulaic bland fried hell.  This is the annoyingly "FUN" tgi Fridays style.  My friend suggested this place so I agreed. WTF.  This place sucks they have a picture menu showing a huge platter of obscene fried food & when it arrived it was 4 anemic bland shrimp 3 finger sized fish pieces & a couple of the worst hush puppies I have ever bitten into.  I guess since Denver is a land locked city & a hub for landlubber tourists the can "reel" us in. The only redeeming quality is the pocket- gay  lady-boy host who greets you at the door.

Service seems friendly at first. Then inside waited a while (felt like ten minutes) before anyone offered to get us drinks. Then over heard servers question who's table we belonged to. That's not the worst part, $20.00 for three small pieces of fish, five fried shrimp, five "hush puppies," and French fries. It's called the "forest seafood feast." That does not qualify as a "feast." Also, their "hush puppies" are gross. They should call them fish balls or seafood balls. Would not recommend!

This is a standard chain restaurant, conveniently located across the street from the Hyatt Regency. I came in for lunch with a friend. The staff was friendly, it was relatively empty when we arrived and our waiter took our orders shortly after being seated...Fast forward 45 minutes. The food has not arrived although we ordered the most basic items. My friend even had to step away for a meeting since he'd assumed the food would arrive in time to eat and run out to his meeting. While this would normally frustrate the socks off of me, this was quickly redeemed when the manager came over to apologize for the wait and to alert me that our food had been prepared, but when she saw them she instructed the staff to remake them since it wasn't up to her standards. thanks for saving me from sending it back and for taking pride in the meals prepared! I really appreciated that.

Gave it a fair shot after reading terrible reviews. Bad idea! My daughter actually gagged and spit out shrimp mac n cheese. It was floating in butter and oil. The corn fritters had a weird fishy taste, nice idea but icky. Shouldn't be too hard to have a decent burger but husband said that was bad too. Son loved the chicken strips but for $75 for lunch all we had was good chicken strips?? And otherwise good server interrupted twice to sell us $25 freqent diner card. I see now why they do this before serving the food. Never again.

First time I've  been at a Bubba Gumps and had fast and efficient food service, so will be back. My po boy I ordered was better than the one I got at Monterey so liked the meal, and the company was not bad either, a quite festive and lively environment so I recommend while in Denver.

$10 drinks- but you get to keep the glass... oh boy.
Life is not really a box of chocolates; it's a bucket of fried ocean critters to dip into hot sauce.
The fish N chips were meh, the steamed clams and clam chowder however was excellent.
Service was good and it's a fun place to use your favorite Forrest Gump accent and quote lines from the movie-
"God damn it, Gump! You're a god damn genius!"
    "Lieutenant Dan!!!"
"Me and Jenny goes together like peas and carrots."
I think it's a bit expensive for what you get but wasn't a total waste, might try again.

I've been to multiple Bubba Gump's throughout the country and have always had pretty good experiences. My experience in Denver was so-so, but not the best. We went after a Rockies game and we loved the atmosphere!

They were playing the movie on the TV's and everything was, of course, Forrest Gump related. The tables, the decorations, and I LOVE the idea of the "Run Forrest Run" and the "Stop Forrest Stop" on the table. Of course the servers come and check on you accordingly, but if you need something after they just checked in on you, you flip the sign on your table to "Stop Forrest Stop" and the server comes over right away to see what you need. It's quite helpful.

All my other experiences at the other Bubba Gump's were better, not that I had a terrible experience here. The food just didn't seem as good as the other ones I've been to and the service was ok. I have nothing quite bad to say about our experience, but nothing exceptional, either. It was just so-so.

I don't know what I was thinking. It's a chain, a very bad chain. Friday's is a chain and those fried green beans are damn good but nothing from this Bubba. I really like the movie Forest Gump and they tricked me! I thought "the movie was good, this place must be".

I ordered stuffed shrimp - who knows what was in there. I got very sick.

    Stay away!

Tourist trap chain (like the Hard Rock). I didn't understand why anyone would go here unless they have some silly nostalgia for the movie, but it was right next door to my hotel. I was too lazy to go two extra streets to the 16th St Mall.

Had the tilapia with mango salsa. The fish was overgrilled and the service was slow. They have a sign on each table that you can flip to ask for service, and it seemed like the waiter was not used to having to wait on a table the traditional way.

This chain would never threaten the seafood landscape of Houston. We have our share of overpriced gaudy seafood chains except for one difference. The gaudy food is still good.

It was near the convention center, so I went there for lunch thinking I would get better food than inside (15 bucks for some sushi...yikes.)  I paid 18$ for some plain white rice and 2 skewers of 6 shrimp, onion, pepper, and zucchini.  The chimmi-churri sauce made it stand out a bit, but it was just way too expensive.  If you're at the convention center, go to Stout street one block over where there is a taco joint and a pizza/panini place right next to each other (lunch special for 8 bucks.)

It is a chain. A big, big chain. It is seriously hit or miss, it seems once a year I come down with amnesia and think, "Oh this will be FUN". I was all hot and bothered by Lieutenant Dan in the movie so I forget my better judgement and indulge in fried, salted, and not so abundant seafood. I shake my fist at this landlocked state sometimes.

The servers must all be on Prozac to get through the trivia portion of the program. Yes, I know Forrest was shot in the buttocks.

I had the fried fish sandwich on the last visit, it wasn't all that bad really. It was fried, but it was crispy and hot and good. Beers were cold, but I just can't lose the feeling of selling out by going there.

We have been in when its been packed and service sucked and the last time, the place was deserted and service was fine.

Now if only Lieutenant Dan would show up....

I'm rising a star above the others for one reason - they have good drinks.  I usually get some blueberry lemonade thing with Absolut Citron in it.  And I'd need about four or five of them to enjoy the food there.

My boyfriend and I had some peel and eat shrimp, as well as some garlic sauteed shrimp.  The garlic bread was yummy.  That's about it.  We ended the meal at the appetizers and decided never to go back.

I can get the same blueberry lemonade drink at Red Robin, anyway.

P.S. The prices are a little steep.  Okay, a lot steep for the quality you get.

Whenever I eat in a chain restaurant like this, I marvel that The Cheesecake Factory manages to have such good food.  This menu is all that is bad about chains -- an emphasis on overpriced drinks, uninspired appetizers and really revolting main courses.  My husband picked this place for dinner saying, "It's across the street from the hotel.  How bad can it be?"  Well, really, really bad.  I like hush puppies, but Bubba Gump's has NOT "made them better" by adding corn, fish and shrimp.  They just made them lumpy.  And in a batter that was too bland to begin with.

My "New Orleans Shrimp" had nothing creole or cajun about it unless half a bottle of Worcester Sauce in trans-fat dressing over small, tough shrimp is something someone once had in a New Orleans dive.  My husband's catfish was not toxic, but neither was it anything other than bland and dry.  The pictures of their desserts are lovely, but I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw the entire building.  At least I will know better than to eat in any other Bubba Gump restaurant ever again.

We'll never go back.  Mediocre food, the worst service ever, and much too expensive for a chain restaurant.

Waited over half an hour for a table in a half empty restaurant;  our shrimp had to be sent back because it was still cold on the inside; I had to leave my table to find our server.  Found him at the bar chatting up the bartender, who was quite the hottie.  He gets 5 stars for his taste in women, and 0 stars for his customer service.

Located 1/2 block north of the convention center doors, this place is clearly located for out-of-town suckers. You can smell something fishy here: chain-restaurant, dancing mascot to out-front to drum-up business, cheap, straight from China, Bubba Gump-themed merchandise from the overpriced gift shop conveniently located by the front door. Colorado is a land-locked state, folks. FRIED FOOD. Need I say more?

Advice: Keep walking east to the 16th Mall.

At the start of our conference, it was 75 degrees.  By mid-week it was in the 30s.  The cold snap is pretty much the only excuse I can muster for stopping in at Bubba Gumps.

I regretted the decision as soon as I was instructed on the proper use of the "RUN FORREST RUN" and "STOP FORREST STOP" license plates at each table.  Apparently, you are supposed to signal your server that you need a refill or you are ready to order by rotating the signs.  Um, no.  Checking in on tables and refilling my drink is the server's job.  The signal that I need a refill is that my drink is mostly gone.

Our server was actually attentive and helpful while we were there, so I didn't have to resort to the sign.  But seriously, that business model is stupid.

The food itself was perfectly adequate.  I had shrimp skewers that were pretty good, although they were served on a bed of undercooked rice.  Seriously? Who screws up rice?

If you really love Tom Hanks, or the weather is too crappy to walk any further, you can get a perfectly decent meal here.  A little pricey for the caliber of the food, but I guess you are paying for the "experience"

Nice location convenient for the convention center, consistant food quality, okay portions for the price.

I don't ming eating at a Bubba Gump Shrimp every once in a while, I just never expect anything spectacular.  The service has always been good at this location.  It is just another average chain food joint however.

For my last visit I had the cobb salad, it was big, had fresh greens and the dressing is actually pretty good.  My girlfriend had the fish n chips and she thought the fish was good and cooked really well.

It's mind boggling to me how a theme restaurant based on a movie that hurt my head in 1994 is still opening new locations.

I'm going to be polite and give it two stars because nothing bad happened here.  It's just too much fun for me and one of the last places I would ever offer up as somewhere to stop in.

It all started when I had family visiting and my brother was enamored with this place.  And I said, "Really, are you sure you don't want to go somewhere that I know is GOOD?"  No, he really wanted to try it and after all he's the one on vacation so it's really not that big of a deal.

I did enjoy the 24 oz Hazed and Infused beer that I had, and the hush puppy appetizers were not bad but just a little on the oily side.  Not just your traditional greasy fried thing, but maybe oily too, like someone put pats of butter inside then deep fried them or something.  So, pretty tasty but just kind of heavy.  The fish tacos I had weren't good.  They were fried shrimp and corn tortillas lazily arranged with a side of salsas/sauces and maybe a vegetable here or there.

The service wasn't bad, but there was confusion on my part about how the stupid "Run Forrest Run" and "Stop Forrest Stop" signs worked.  I hadn't been in one of these for many years and even though our waiter explained it to us I admit I didn't listen to a word he said.  So I went on autopilot and the first thing I did when he walked away was flip the sign to "Stop."  So some other guy stopped at our table about 15 seconds later to ask us what we wanted.  I said "nothing."  And he was all "why does the sign say stop?"  I had no coherent response.  It got flipped back to "Run" and stayed that way for the rest of the lunch.  No complaints about the staff though, just those stupid signs.

This place was right across from my hotel, so it was the first restaurant I ate in while I was in Denver. It was a weekday, mid afternoon. There were no other patrons in the restaurant, but it seemed to take them forever to set up a table for 11 people. Like they had never had such a large party before. After we got seated, though, things ran smoothly.

Our waiter quizzed us on Forrest Gump trivia and brought us refills regularly. The hush puppies were recommended, so we ordered one along with some shrimp spinach dip and cocktail shrimp. We were told the hush puppies came in a big basket enough to share. No. There were only 6 of them. boo! But it was all good and tasty.

I shared a large order of fish 'n chips with a friend and it was yummy! More than enough for two people. I was stuffed, but...

Went ahead and ordered dessert too. The cinnamon bread pudding. That was delicious too! I tried the strawberry shortcake someone else ordered which was all right. I liked the bread pudding a lot more.

Our waiter split up all the checks and we left satisfied. The prices could stand to be a bit cheaper.

If you love the movie "Forest Gump", you will like Bubba's.  The food is so-so, the staff is very engaged and enthusiastic.  I was amazed at the trivia quizing bestowed upon some patrons, although it seemed many enjoyed playing along with the staff.  We went on a Saturday night for dinner before heading over to the Performance Art center.  It was crowded, loud and hectic. We ordered the snapper, shrimp cocktail and the shrimp new orleans.  The shrimp cocktail had 8 very large shrimp, nice, however, the were not devained completely.  This tells me the kitchen protocol is sloppy.  The service that night for us was prompt. We sat downstairs and the bathrooms are upstairs, I was not digging that.

I would image tourists will enjoy Bubba's as it is chain and an known entity.  If you are looking for good seafood, as a suggestion, try Jax's, McCormick's or Oceanaire instead.....

this place is "okay"... ive had more good experiences here than bad ones here.
as a gulf-coaster, i miss having access to a consistent source of southern seafood here in colorado. i mean, i guess yall have whatever the standard landry's/pappa's chains are, but their food isnt authentic.
although BG's is in the landry's family, i thought they might have different offerings (which they do), and that it maybe would be able to kill the cravings.

    - their fish and chips (while arguably not cajun) are pretty decent. although this last time i ordered it, they were really raw-ish inside.
    - their gumbo looked fucking nasty. who puts mahi mahi in gumbo?
    - they are one of those places that think "cajun spice" means "BBQ sauce flavor"... which is sad.
    - they cover COVER slaaaaather their po'boys in mayo with no menu warning. i can understand tartar (which didnt even come on the side), but mayo is kind of vile.
    - their drinks are super expensive, but its okay, because you get to keep the lighthouse/pilsner/hurricane glass that it came in.

basically, i really WANT to like this place. its kinda all i got hurr.
but the fact that my poor date had to leave the table to HURL halfway through dinner made me feel like an awful, evil person for even suggesting BG's.

All the servers are well trained and their service is very fast. It's a great place to go to if you're looking for "an experience", not just a meal.

Ordered the shrimp tacos and was disappointed - the tortillas were cold, and the chips that came with it were sparse and not so great. The amount of salsa they serve alongside it was totally insufficient, and you have to pay $1.75 for more. Also ordered the steamed broccoli hoping for a healthy side, only to see it come out dripping in this garlic-butter sauce. I will not be back.

decent food, HUGE portions, reasonable prices, quick and friendly service, convenient to the convention center.  three stars.

i was at the convention center and couldn't bear to eat at one of those food kiosks again, so i ventured out to bubba gump.  the waitstaff all appeared to be approximately 12 years old to me -- clever marketing or child labor camp?  you decide.

i ordered a salad which was approximately as large as the saucer sled i used when i was a kid.  i'm not kidding.  it was HUGE.  the veggies were pretty fresh and there was a fair (although not overwhelming) amount of shrimp.  i was served pretty quickly and got in and out of there in under an hour.

not a place i'd seek out as a dining destination, but it's a great respite from the convention center food.  i'd recommend it if you're in the area.
