I love Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  First time at this restaurant chain was in Monterey, Ca.  I was excited that this and the one in Long Beach opened up in the last few years.  I really enjoy coming here with the family.  Food is good and the atmosphere is laid back.  I enjoy the Shrimpin' Dippin' Broth which is shrimp in a rich creole broth served with sourdough bread and cole slaw.

Be sure to watch Forrest Gump before visiting because your server will quiz you on movie trivia at some time during your visit.

One of my favorite restaurant concepts! The locations at Universal CityWalk and the Santa Monica Pier are much better.. But Bubba Gumps is Bubba Gumps!

Another cookie cutter Bubba Gump's restaurant...

I am sure this is a great experience for anyone that saw the movie and has never been to one of these places before. If you are are looking for good shrimp though, this is probably not your best choice. The staff is friendly (just like I overheard the manager instructing them to be within earshot of the bar customers) and the beers are cold. Same experience I have had at other Bubba Gump's so you know exactly what to expect, nothing more nothing less...

I happened to pop in here for a meal after spending all day at the convention center. Originally, I went to the Cheesecake Factory, but the wait was ridiculous, so I opted to try out Bubba Gump. Know what? It was pretty darn good!

I was seated pretty much right away, someone came right over to explain their set up there and take my drink order. I opted for a lemonade with blueberry (non-alcoholic) drink that was AWESOME! Maybe I was just extra thirsty, or maybe it was really just that damn good .. I'm not sure. I just know I want more.

My meal was the coconut shrimp, and that was also great. The dipping sauce added the right touch of sweet to compliment the shrimp. Honestly, I don't know why I've never gone to one of these chains before, but at least now I know that the food is pretty good.

The service at this location was great. The food was good. The price was okay as well. But the blueberry lemonade? That was DA BOMB.

Being the pseudo-foodie I am, the thought of eating here made me cringe. A theme -based chain restaurant, right in the middle of tourist-ville, at rush hour on a convention night. Was I crazy?  No, I was invited to join some vendors and coworkers. I was not asked where I thought we should eat. As a guest, I accepted the invitation and made way way from the convention center to the restaurant...a mere 1/2 mile. It took a mere 1/2 hour to make my way there. The streets were packed, the sidewalks were packed and the rules of the road, and the traffic department, were nonexistent. I was not in a great mood when I walked in. Now, that is no reason to downplay the restaurant.  It's just the mood when I walked in the door.

I waited for my friends at the bar. Forrest Gump playing on the big screen got me a little nostalgic. A nice glass of Jameson on the rocks with a splash of water did a great job of lightening my mood.  Once seated, they crammed 5 large adults into a small booth for four.  It was not too busy yet so I jumped on the hostess and told her this would not work for us. The answer?  "follow me, sir....I have just the place for you.". A nice table for 8 in a private room.  Well played, ma'am.....well played.

The service the rest of the night was actually great. The menu had enough choices for the picket eaters. The dishes were over seasoned and very heavy (tourist fare) but still edible, and we actually had a great time.

Not 5 star cuisine but it could have been a whole lot worse.

Okay, ideally I'd like to give this place 4 stars. But every single time I come here, they forget something that I ordered. Whether it be an appetizer, a beer refill, or an extra plate, it always happens. Besides that, food is decent and service is friendly.

Good atmosphere and a great place to be with a family. Waiters/ waitresses are friendly and extremely helpful.

However i will probably never come here again. I ordered some shrimp pasta and it wasnt anything special but it cost me about $17. It tasted bland, too much butter, and it was EXPENSIVE! I could've made it at home for cheaper and made it taste 100x better!

Their variety on their menu isn't that big either. While it does give several different choices i would like to see more especially since there's so many different kinds of dishes that can be created with seafood.

Never coming here again. Doesnt even taste good. Too expensive for the quality and taste.

Foodies - beware - this is not your place.

But if you just wanna have a variety of good family fare - then this is the perfect place for you!

I cannot complain about service at all. Our server was right on top of all our needs, and double checked with us without us needing to flag him down! And he was very entertaining with Trivia from the movie - and he even promised if someone knew the answer to a hard question - he would buy dessert from his own income! Not many will say that these days.

The price is pretty decent for the food. I got the 'Bucket of Boat Trash' ($20.50), 2 Lobster claws, at least 8 shrimp plus 4 fish pieces. And that's NOT including all the french fries, and cole slaw. That was more than enough for one belly!

There ya go that's my two cents.

Extremely mediocre for the money.  None of their food requires much finesse and it shows.  For a seafood restaurant, the menu is very limited in that you are offered deep fried shrimp or unnamed filets in a variety of presentations: In a tin bucket!  A paper cone!  Add generic fries and coleslaw and you are set.
If you insist on going to a corporate theme restaurant, you will get better cuisine and value most anywhere else, especially since Bubba Gump is usually close to a CPK or Spaghetti Factory, both of which have much better food.
On the plus side, they staff with a ton of young people so the service is fast and attentive.
Also, it is easy to find, visible from the street, and there is ample parking (validated).

I tend to not waver from the usual items that I know taste great, but I tried the Accidental Fish & Shrimp this visit. I must say, its my new favorite!!!  Grilled Mahi Mahi over jasmine rice, topped with tomatoes, spicy grilled shrimp, and some curry- type sauce. This was so delicious! It was the first time I actually forced myself to finish the plate clean because it tasted so good, even though I was too full with the fish, rice, and the hushpups.  I can't wait to go back and have the Accidental Fish & Shrimp again.

Same rating as my last review, but I'd like to add that the sampler platter and desserts are amazing, and I love the onion rings! I haven't ordered an entree since I stopped eating meat, so idk if this place is vegetarian friendly at all, but the little things are great.
The last time I was here was October, and it was late at night (after checking out The Empty Grave further back in the Garden Walk). The staff kept us thoroughly entertained, and were very funny, friendly, and definitely knew how to earn tips!
I'm still not a big fan of their prices, but the food, staff, and atmosphere will make it up to you. Don't forget to get your parking ticket validated if you parked in the garage!

So.. we came to Garden Walk instead of Downtown Disney on our last day of our trip to Disneyland. I'm glad because it was fun and pretty good seafood. I've seen a location in SF & a friend has suggested that we go there, but I had never got a chance.

    B R I E F  S U M M A R Y ( B --- S )
-- Plenty of parking (garage) plus they validate :)
-- Located on the outskirts of the open mall type settings
    -- Forest Gump themed restaurant
-- A bit pricey, but it is mostly seafood
-- Cajun Shrimp had good taste & spice plus comes with garlic bread, yum
-- Fish & chips portion was enough but tasted very fresh and hot
-- Tartar sauce wasn't overly mayo-ey, was light and fresh
-- Baja Shrimp Tacos were pretty good with spice & 2 different salsas plus chips
-- Service is attentive plus you have that "stop, forest stop" sign haha
-- You will get tested on Forest Gump trivia

After 2 days at Disneyland, it starts to wear you down. I wanted to make a trip to Long Beach or Downey, but I just didn't feel like driving from Cypress all the way there and then back to SNA for our flight in the afternoon. We had parked at Pumbaa parking lot the day before, so we saw Garden Walk and looked it up on Yelp.

After parking the garage, it was a little bit of a journey to Bubba Gumps but only because we walked through the mall. We were greeted immediately by a hostess outside of the restaurant and were seated in a booth.

Our server from begining to start was very friendly and attentive. She also explained the whole "Forest Gump" theme and the sign that we flip if we need service. Basically if you don't need anything, it says "Run, Forrest, Run." If you need something, just flip over the license plate that says "Stop, Forrest, Stop" and your server will stop.

We started with the cajun shrimp appetizer which reminded us Boiling Crab shrimp (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) without as much sauce and spice. I liked that it came with garlic bread that you could dip in the spicy sauce.

My GF ordered the Baja Shrimp Tacos. The portion size was plenty enough for her. It came with 3 tacos plus chips and salsa, etc. The salsa and spice were good as well. She likes it a bit spicy so if you like shrimp tacos, I would recommend giving this one a shot.

I'm a WIMP when it comes to seafood. I'm not a huge fan of seafood in general so I went with a safe bet, Fish & Chips! I really liked the freshness and taste of the fish. The only thing was that they were really small. I'm glad we got the appetizer otherwise I would have wish I opted for the larger portion. The french fries were decent, nothing special. The tartar sauce was definitely freshly made. I liked it a lot, and with some lemon, it brought the fish to life even more.

This was one of our better meals during our trip to Disneyland. I definitely am going to have to try out the San Francisco location now. After your meal, they have a gift shop and will validate your parking. I believe you can shop another 2 or 3 hours after they validate and it's still free.

Came here last night and after waiting for over an hour, we were disappointed in both their Popcorn Shrimp appetizer and their portions as well.

Definitely wont be coming back here anytime soon. Overpriced food and paltry portions. Head elsewhere to spend $50+ for 2 people.

Came to this place a few wks ago and I have to say that my early thoughts of this place being just another commercialized over exagerated place was not true at all. first of all our server was AMAZING. if only we can have a server like her at every resturant we go to. She played some Forrest Gump trivia which was fun. I'm just sorry I didnt catch her name. Ok so now for the food. I had the Shrimp scampi pasta which was very good. Our server suggested I get the capers on the side and she was right. had the capers been in there they would have totally over powered the dish. My honey had a fish plate Jenny's Catch with Lobster Butter Sauce. I'm not much of a fish person but this was a good dish as well. Oh and the Garlic bread is delicious. A def must return. waiting for our next date night :)

I am a BIG Bubba Gump fan! But this location is just terrible. It has all the little trinkets on the walls and the ping pong paddle drink menu, but service-wise, it really sucks.

The food is great, got to love that coconut shrimp, mmm, hold on, mouth is watering.

BUT...you know how some restaurants just put some people in the corner all the way at the other side of the venue, where there are no people? Why do they do that? The only people that were by us were a large party and some guys that might have dined and dashed. It took a while just to order. I hate that we had to ORDER WATER...isn't water a given? I don't know. Maybe I'm just spoiled.

I came here with the bf the other day and was not extremely satisfied with my meal. It was just alright, and found it a bit pricey..

I ordered the "of course we have scampi!" dish (~$18), which is shrimp scampi with a lemon butter sauce. there was a good amount of shrimp, and the linguine was delicious. can't forget that heavenly lemon butter sauce! Overall, the flavors were good, but it should've really cost only $13.

Bf ordered the Boubon street Mahi Mahi, which wasn't very good. The fish was overcooked and very dry. It came with mashed potatoes and a few grilled shrimp. The shrimp was OK, but the mashed potatoes were pretty plain. His entree was about ~$19, which was SOOO NOT worth it.

our total came out to about $40. we didn't order sodas and you don't get any bread or salad before your meal. if our meal came with bread and salad I definitely would've been more satisfied.

Servers are very attentive here, so that's a plus. They also like to give you a trivia quiz on the movie Forest Gump, which was fun/cool. I will probably stick to california fish grill next time I want seafood.

Lt Dan's Drunken Shrimp!  Why have I not had this before!  The flavor was off the hook, out the door, and down the street!!!  Yum!

I've been here before and it's always been a fine place to dine.  It's one of the few BG locations that's not on the water, but I don't really notice it too much.  In fact, this is a great location if you're there for theme park fun and want some non-theme-park-priced food.

    Service was great as usual.

I came here a couple years back with my boyfriend. It's true! There's basically only shrimp on their menu!
I loved the cute Forrest Gump decorations around the restaurant. It really stayed true to the movie. There was even occasional trivia questions being thrown out to some of the customers. Whoever wins, gets a prize! I think it's a t-shirt, if I'm not wrong.
The food itself was okay. I actually liked the appetizers more than the actual food. I got a bit sick of shrimp afterwards to be honest.
Service was okay, it took them awhile to get to you, even if you have the little sign on the side to flip whether you'd need help or not...
I feel that it's a little overpriced. I guess it has to be since it's by Disneyland, but I still don't think it's worth so much.

HUGE sign outside stating best happy hour in town, I took the bait and strolled in. This as at 4pm, I ask the bartender what the happy hour specials are, she tells me happy hour doesn't start until.....9pm!!!! Whaaaaat?! She calls it a "late happy hour" I call it ridiculous.

If I stayed here that late to see what the happy hour specials were..trust me, the last thing I would need is discounted booze, I would be well on my way to over served-ville by then!!

So what is their normal price for a domestic tap...$5.50......be warned. You can find better deals pretty much anywhere else in town.

This is my third time eating at a Bubba Gump in 3 different cities and true to the quote I dont know what I'm gonna get.  Everytime I have eaten here its been a soso experience.  Its definitely a tourist trap.  Shoot thats how they got me the first time!

I ordered the Lt. Dan's drunken shrimp, becuz I like Lt. Dan!  This dish was OK.  http://www.yelp.com/bi...  The shrimp was seasoned and cooked pretty well as was the andoullie sausage.  The mash was not seasoned much.  It came with a bourbon sauce but I didnt taste much of it.

Its shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it goodness.

Had a wonderful time!! The staff was very friendly, I noticed that waiters would step to the side when we walked through the restaurant and said hi with smiles.

We let them know that we were in a hurry and wanted to know if we could order everything at once, they were happy to accommodate.

I ordered the pear something salad with shrimp and the spinach dip. The salad was cold and fresh, the dip was very hot and taster great! Other guests at my table ordered a variety of drinks and dishes... Everyone was satisfied.

One of my friends left his sun glasses at the table and our server caught up with us DOWN THE STREET to return them! He was an idiot to bring them to a restaurant at night and then leave them at the table, but nevertheless, our server was awesome and went above and beyond! (Good thing we left a good tip!)

I stopped by here yesterday before an event at the convention center.  Service is good as with other Bubba Gump locations.

We ordered a combination of coconut shrimp, shrimp tempura, fries and need-to-peel shrimp.  The coconut shrimp was pretty tasty.  The rest were just average.  I didn't really like that two of the cones contained chopped cabbage at the bottom to give the illusion that there's more shrimp.  It seemed misleading.

Went here with a group of friends and had a blast! Our server was awesome and dealt with our wild little group with ease.

I started with the Shrimp & Crab Bisque, and it was yummy. I don't think it was out of this world, but definitely a hearty comfort food. I wish there were actual chunks of crab and lobster though...

Our table got an appetizer of a giant bucket of shrimp. Half Garlic & Half Cajun seasoned shrimp. It was DELICIOUS, the only complaint was that it wasn't shelled... we had to do it ourselves. Lame. Either way, we were satisfied.

My main course was just fried shrimp, and it was very delicious.

I am happy we went and we had SO much good food. Not a complaint and I am confident we will be back!

I came here after Blizzcon on the last night. It was a short wait for a party of 3 on a Saturday. I ordered the Shrimper's Net Catch, which is a bunch of shrimps in either the cajun sauce or garlic butter sauce (I was expecting it to be like The Boiling Crab for some reason, because of the misleading picture I guess). My boyfriend ordered the "Of Course We Have Scampi" pasta (~$17, which is shrimp on top of some pasta with garlic bread) and his cousin ordered the "Shrimper's Heaven" (different varieties of shrimp...tempura shrimp, fries, coconut shrimp, etc). We all shared the "Run Across America Sampler" (chips, dip, buffalo chicken pieces, chilly shrimp, etc).

The boyfriend's pasta was okay, but...it was just some shrimp on pasta. For ~$17? It wasn't that spectacular. And my shrimp dish that was originally supposed to be an appetizer was simply pitiful. The shrimp were super small and there wasn't a lot of flavor. The cousin's dish wasn't worth it...~$20 for some fries and a sampler of shrimp done different ways?

    Meh.

I was invited to dinner by out of town friends and wasn't thrilled with their choice at 7pm on a Friday night. It was a pleasant surprise to be seated in about 15 minutes but the booth was way too cramped for six people. Service was excellent with the exception of having to request water three times. My salmon was perfectly cooked with lots of butter, garlic and capers. What more could you want? And, of course, we all had fun with the trivia.

It was our last night in So Cal and we were celebrating my brother-in-law's 35th birthday. He wanted to try Bubba Gump which is located in Garden Walk a 5 minute walk from our hotel.

It was kinda late and on the 4th of July. We had a party of 9 but it wasn't a problem. We were seated after 5 minutes. Our waitress was really nice and friendly.

We ordered some Hubba Bubba Popcorn Shrimp and Lil Forrest's Favorite Fish & Chips. Hubby ordered the Po Boy something. I just had the Pomegranate Margarita which was yummy! Pay $3.99 to keep the shaker.

Next time I'd definitely try the food. It's a cool place to hang out, have some drinks and check out all the Forrest Gump decor :)

Well, my first though is...YIKES!! It was SPENDY!!

I think in a situation like this you are paying for the atmospshere and entertainment. The food was delicious and I have no complaints on taste...portion size was a little disappointing though. We paid $17.99 a plate and I got 6 coconut shrimp and some fries. We both everything on our plate and still had room for an entire dessert. Drinks were extremely expensive, but that is to be expected. Plus with some od them you keep the cup, so it's understandable.

I really appreciate the toys outside in the waiting area. We had been at Disneyland and my son had been in a stroller all day. So he really enjoyed being ale to get out and sttretch his legs.

I am definatel I fan of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, but I don't think I will be returning doon.

Went here with two friend just because we wanted to see whats up :D

Food: Damn good. From the name you can expect to see a lot of shrimp dishes. they also have burgers and what not there too so dont feel like you have to eat shrimp. I ordered the Ribs and by golly were they damn good. I love ribs. The ribs here are fall off the bone delicious. the sauce that they used to glaze is was damn good too. to me personally i would like to say that it was a tad too sweet. after eating 1-3 bones i gotta say that the sweetness of the sauce kicked in and made it too sweet to my taste but it was still delicious. my friends got the coconut shrimp and the bucket o' trash. the coconut shrimp was really good. im not a fan of cocunt shrimp but i gotta say that this was an exception. the bucket o' trash included fish, shrimp and lobster claws. according to my friend the lobster claws were good, the fish was damn good as well with the shrimp.

Service: Was super friendly and what everyone would want. Our waiter was super nice. talking to us here and there like a new friend you just met. he introduced us to many items on the menu and telling us whether it was good or not. always walking by and checking up on us on how everything is going.

Location: the location is good. its in the area of garden walk. so there are many choices to eat here. parking is a bit of hassle since its in a parking structure and depending on the time parking is hard to find.

Other than that i would love to say that this place is good. The prices for each item is a tad bit over priced cause i am sure that there are other places that give you more for the price but this place is more of the quality than quantity.

The first time I came here, I loved the service and food! Our waitress served to our needs and checked up on us often to see how we were doing. After our pleasant visit the first time, we decided to go again.  The second time that I came here, the waitress wasn't so great. She was  monotone and seemed bored out of her mind. The food was still good though! Hopefully we won't get the same server again lol

Had a late night dinner here on April the 2nd. Sat outside and enjoyed all the people watching. Happy hour started at 930 pm till close. They offer a nice variety of hour hour drinks and shots. Started with the run across America starter. It was so so. if I was to do it over again I would pass on it, nothing special. a few peel and eat shrimp, chicken tenders, coconut shrimp, some dip and chips, again like I said nothing special. For the main course me and the hubby had the steamed shellfish. the market price that night was 22$. It was very good and well worth the cost. Lots of mussels, clams and crab. I would recommend this to friends and family. They have these signs on the tables, red and green, if you need your server you flip it over to stop forest stop and bam your server is there. don't need anything flip it over to run forest run and no one will bother you. The service was VERY good, the over all restaurant is tourist like but hey what do you expect in Anaheim. So if your in the area and want decent seafood and a little off the main drag this is worth a stop.

I was really surprised at the customer service! Lately when I go somewhere I'm super bummed with service. It's almost like everyone hates their jobs... Jesse our waiter had outstanding customer service and everyone was very friendly! Even IF the food was terrible (and it wasn't) I would still want to come back! And we will!! Thank you for your services!!
