Exceptional service.  We are undergoing a total renovation and have felt like Pat Rose has treated us more like friends than customers.  He has helped us choose the best products for us and has done some serious trouble-shooting.  We really appreciate his help and hard work.

This is a great store; huge selection, all high quality brands. They are very helpful and answer any question you have.  Delivery includes installation.  I also bought my kitchen and bath counters from them in addition to several appliances.

Our salesperson was Aldo .. who is so easy on the eyes ... and helpful .. that it really made the shopping experience all the better.

Oh come on!  They don't even answer their phone.

I called today to see if they had a particular dishwasher in stock... or to be told about something similar.

When you call, you CANNOT talk to a human being.  They have an automated attendant who, if you don't know who you want to talk to, will let you leave a message.

Really?  This is the service BEFORE I buy?  I suspect they really don't retail, one-appliance buyers to bother them.

My current digs has never had a dishwasher...until now.

Hand washing was the norm here at the casa.  Dishwasher detergent, garbage disposals, and rinse cycles were terms I've never used here...ever.

Flash forward 98 years (the home is from 1912).  I've been researching dishwashers both online and various store visits and well, after much consideration,  I decided what was important to me:  the appliance should do the job right, with little maintenance yet not break the bank.  A tall order if you will.  BSC's Pat R. kindly walked me though several models I was looking for and answered all of my questions about dish washing appliances (being a novice and all).  I ended up spending more than I had planned but with the assurance that I was making an investment that would last me a long, long time.

It's a historical day here at the house.  Running the dishwasher for the very first time.  It's so quiet. Should I break out some bubbly?

BSC Culinary is--I think--a well kept secret. I had no idea of its existence until I decided to put a commercial range into my home only to discover it's just too tricky with insurance, etc. So when I started researching close-to-commercial home ranges I discovered the Blue Star line with it's 22k BTU burners. I was directed to BSC in downtown SF for a live demonstration.

The place is incredible, laden with hooked-up, working appliances. Pat the show room manager took me around and showed me their working Blue Star range. He was very informative and did not put any undue pressure on me. Then I met Ross, BSC' Culinary Director, who was even more knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about cooking. He turned on the range, showed me the features and even invited me back for lunch the next day.

I show up the next at 1pm and he had me cook the entire staff meal on the Blue Star. It was fantastic! When you think how much cooking equipment--particularly ranges--cost it makes sense you should test drive them before buying. BSC and Ross make this possible. There is no one else I know who is providing this level of service and the try-before-you-buy demonstration. Highly highly recommended. Pay these guys a visit. They also do kitchen sinks, cabinetry and the like.

BSC (our rep was Aldo) provides the experience one expects from a high end appliances store.

We visited multiple times for cooker/fridge/dishwasher purchase. The process was relaxed and focused on our needs and interests. We consulted with the cullinary specialist on our lifestyle and preferences and were introduced to a number of options, some more some less expensive then what we previously thought.

During the ordering process, we needed to change the vent model due to size issues this was handled without difficulty n

Most significantly, a year after our purchase (and we love our appliances), if I have a question, I can still email our rep who helps us out with pointers and the appliances have been great. I would recommend BSC and Aldo to anyone considering appliances and want a great end to end experience.

We got our Bosch dishwasher here. I once had a landlord who got a deal on a few of them and put one in my apartment. I've been ruined for anything less since.

I read up on the reviews at Consumer Reports t justify to Hubs. Then I started calling the few places in a 50 mile radius who carried Bosch.

I spoke with a great sales person who met and then BEAT my lowest quote. When we went in to look at the two models we were interested in, she was helpful and very knowledgeable. I felt the place had a pretty good vibe.  And I thought I might even come back for some of their cooking demos. When would I ever get the opportunity to get the opportunity to cook on a Viking, Aga, or La Cornue.

Unfortunately, once they got my credit card digits, they were significantly less attentive when I called with questions.  They lose a star for that, but overall I'm happy!

As the owner of an architectural firm, we often specify appliances for our projects or make recommendations to clients when asked.  In our case, our first recommendation is always BSC.

Customers who shop at BSC will discover many benefits: a current showroom, knowledgeable sales staff, cooking classes, free lunch (highly recommended!) and helpful support on the other end of a purchase.  We can personally attest to the level of service, including the other end of the spectrum when we needed service for our personal dishwasher; you're simply taken care of.  And, given the price-point is the same no matter where you go, it makes sense to consider BSC.

Over the years, we have worked with Ruth, Iyara and Moira; each have been patient and professional at every step of the selection and purchase process.  We will continue to refer them.

this review is a bit old. but i still think buyer beware.

as a wedding gift my inlaws bought us 15k worth of appliances from then bob's. this was 2003.

the sales person seemed nice enough. when my father in law went over the bill in store they had billed him for the shipping which they had said 5 minutes before would be free. hmm. honest mistake could be.

then the appliances arrived. the guys delivering it were complete goons. they were big enough to lift the stuff in our house without dollies but instead they took 10 minutes getting the first piece off the truck.

then they scratched and dented our hardwood floors. don't ask me how because they had dollies and blankets.

we were upset (new house) and said as much. we also got on the phone right away to tell someone at BSC.

the same salesperson that had helped us earlier said he would call the warehouse guys. then we never heard back. we sent emails. we made calls. still nothing. finally we missed some work to go down during the day and talk to the salesperson. again he said he's do something. then we never heard from him again.

i wish i could remember his name. one of the few people i've met that was nice in person and then completely blew you off later.

i personally wouldn't think of dealing with this place again. but this was a few years ago. just beware. after they got our money there was no customer service at all. our floors were never repaired.

My first time reviewing on YELP, and I was inspired to write before I even bought something. I am in the market for a washing machine. The only place that has this particular brand of washing machine, Bosch 3.4 CU Ft.  plumbed and displayed is at BSC. I needed this set up because this make and model was supposed to have a particular noise to it that turned some on-line reviewers off to the machine.

I called to make an appointment and spoke with Ross Rosenzweig. He asked me to let him now what time I would arrive, so that he could have the machine running and dialed in to the particular spin cycle that created above mentioned noise. Already helpful-

Alas, 8 minutes in, Ross was found. I had done extensive research, and Ross put my knowledge-base to shame. He remembered everything about my situation from our phone call hours before. No pressure, and all professionalism. He introduced options, and steered me away from more expensive models that would have worked; but were less ideal for needs.

My interest was focused, and my time was short, so my experience was limited to hearing the machine, talking about it, then leaving. Customer service is a dying art. Here is a guy who enjoys his work and has mastered his craft. And even if he doesn't enjoy it, he does a hell-of-a-job faking it. I wish my physicians were so good.

I would give this place a shot before trying any other shop with the same products.

BSC is great.  I bought my Big Green Egg from them and continue to go back regularly for eggsecories, charcoal and advice from Ross.  If you want to know about grilling you have to go to Ross.  He'll set you straight and never push you to buy the most expensive thing or waste a bunch of money on accessories you don't need.  He's not a sales guy - he's a cooking and grilling Jedi Night.  I've learned a lot from him and keep going back.  Really looking forward to his Big Green Egg Intermediate lesson on April 18th.  Smoked a 12lb pork butt the another night for 20 hours.  Amazing!  Thanks Ross.  Now you have to show me how to BBQ that beef brisket you make.

What do Le Prince Aga Khan, Madame Jane Birkin, Eddie Murphy, Serge Gainsburg, Monsieur Le President Jacques Chirac, and Monsieur Robin Williams have in common? They all own the elite "La Cornue" oven range. Nothing comes close, even the Aga, much beloved by the inferior Englishman. What would you trust to better cook your meal? A British or a French stove? I thought so. When purchasing one of these divine creations, you will be warned that your La Cornue will probably outlive you. You may also need to take a second mortgage on your home to afford the aquisition. But of course, your life and your kitchen will never be the same. (La Cornue has its own shops in London, Paris and Milan- in the US one must go through a dealer, such as Bsc culinary resource listed above.)

Helpful staff, good selection of high-end appliances, great tech support (we had an issue with a washing machine we purchased there).  And perhaps most importantly, they simply do what they say they will do.  Not to be underestimated during any construction/remodeling project.

They removed all worry from my ordering process.  The items were delivered when they said they would be, in new condition, the right item.  No muss no fuss.  Will definitely use them again should the situation arise.

I bought all my appliances from Iyara at BSC because she offered me a fantastic deal on a Miele oven closeout.  First, they forgot to deliver the oven when they brought the rest of the appliances. After denying this, they double checked and found they indeed still had the oven. A week later, the wrong oven is delivered - 208 watts, which cannot be used in the USA. Iyara tells me I should be happy because she convinced Miele to take the oven back, and I can pay list price for a new one, no discount. When I balk, she asks for time. Yet another 2 weeks go by and she tells me "the best possible outcome," Miele agreed to give me the same oven I ordered but new. I just need to check the dimensions. 2 more weeks go by, and they make the time to deliver the oven. They bill me for a new one and don't refund the old one. And surprise. Unlike the original order, this one has no rotisserie and no broiler pan. Iyara asks for more time. 2 weeks later, she says no you don't get a rotisserie.

Other issues. The range was supposed to also have a rotisserie, according to the brochure she gave me. They claim it's a typo. The dryer must run twice to get clothes remotely dry. Iyara still hasn't addressed this or gotten someone to fix it.

Go to Cherin's. They are honest and responsive.

Update:  they did credit the double billing, which is much appreciated.  Unfortunately, they aren't willing to address anything else

We recently bought three new appliances from BSC (a refrigerator, wine fridge, and dishwasher) when the refrigerator that came with our house declined to the point where we realized we no longer acted as if it had a freezer. On our initial visit to BSC, we were put off by the delivery options - much like the other reviews on Yelp, you spend 15k on appliance and then they disavow all responsibility for delivery and installation in a rather scary contract. So, we dithered. And looked around trying to find another supplier with a fridge that would fit our built-in space... And then a month or two later, went back to BSC, got helped by a different person (Iyara, who was great), and discovered that in the interim things had changed and they now _do_ their own delivery and installation. Yay! And a week later they put in our dishwasher and wine fridge (refrigerator coming later due to factory schedule) exactly on time, and in good condition. I definitely recommend trying them out even if you were scared by past reviews.

The service at this place is HORRIBLE. I bought $20,000 worth of kitchen appliances. They made a mistake and delivered the wrong refrigerator then charged me $350 in restocking and delivery fees to bring over the right refrigerator. When the new refrigerator arrived it had been opened somewhere else and was dirty and scratched. I paid for a new refrigerator but received a floor model. To think that I wrote them a check for $20,000 and this is the kind of service I received. Don't go there!!!

Let me tell you what a long term nightmare I have had dealing with Pat at BSC. I purchased and paid for appliances in leiu of a remodel 14 months ago. I purchased brands that were highend and made in America, Wolf and Subzero. I tried to remodel using only American made products and I was able to accomplish this about 95%. During the remodel before any appliances were delivered,  we changed the refrigerator configuration to be a side by side Subzero. Two units into a builtin cabinet. When we receive the refrigerators 5 months ago, one was 82"s high the other 84"s high. The 84" high unit was a floor model we had inspected and purchased with the guarantee it would be clean and a perfect match for the new side by side unit. This is when the problems started.  To match the 82" unit , the door panel on the 84"unit needed to be exchanged for a  shorter door panel, than  the 2 units would match. To date this has not been done.  Also , the surface discoloration to the aluminum draw panels that we pointed out  to Pat at the time were never cleaned thus the refrigerators side by side look like two different colors . I have made numerous  calls to BSC with them  not  returning  one call. Pat  never returned my messages. In my frustration I call Subzero in Wisconsin, explaining my situation. I have been promised action regarding  my problem, but as I stated, to date 14 months after they received full payment, I have the same doors that were delivered 5 months ago. I made one final attempt  to contact Pat last Thursday. I got the off for 3 days recording. I then tried to contact anyone in the store at 3:30pm and never got  through to anyone other than a recording. If you want appliances look elsewhere. I spent 10's of thousands of dollars at this store and if they wont return my calls, good luck buying a dish wash that has problems. Forget any stars!!

This place spent 20 minutes on the phone with me before I ever walked into the store and kindly answered all my questions, explained differences between products to me, and gave me tons of price quotes.  Went into the store a few days later, service was again spectacular.  As much as I love the incompetence that comes with a box store like Home Depot or Best Buy (god I hate both of those places), I think I'll take BSC any day.  Oh, and they have a bunch of 'live' ranges so you can actually try out the burners.  Definitely a plus.
