I love this store! I usually only get up to Idyllwild once a year in February for my anniversary, but I look forward to stopping in to this cozy little shop every time. I like that they have gently used (or "previously enjoyed" as they call them) as well as new books to choose from. The vibe is much like the rest of Idyllwild, friendly and relaxed.

B's Mountain of Books is a one-of-a-kind shop in Idyllwild, and deserves patronage as it is such a cool little place with some great chairs to sit in and... you guessed it... mountains of books!
I appreciate that they stack the books on the shelves horizontally so that you can easily read the titles. Got a great laugh (and picture) as they had "cooking" and "cats" sections above each other, so a cats book looked like it was in the cooking section.
I truly hope they do well... With Border's going out of business and other book sellers to follow, they stand up against the man (Amazon) and offer something unique and affordable. -

I like this shop, but used books are pretty pricey - ranging from $6-12. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a discount used book store, but it's cozy and the workers there are very friendly. There are also tables inside where you can utilize wireless or sit and read.

Meet the Business Owner: Lauren D.
My name is Lauren Devore. I am the owner of B's Mountain of Books and the new treasurer for the Idyllwild Chamber of Commerce. I have a degree in Business Administration from Fullerton College. I have always wanted to own a business. My mom, Linda Devore, has 15 years experience in the book business and has assisted me in creating and seeing our dream come true. The store is named after my son, Brandon. His nickname is "B" and because we are located on a mountain the name "B's Mountain of Books" seemed appropriate. Our mascot is the bee and so you will see lots of yellows and blacks inside of our store and incorporated into all of our signs and advertising. I have had family on this hill for 12 years and have lived on the hill for 2 years myself. I would love to continue to be a resident of Idyllwild and raise my son in this magical mountain village so, please come support our store by visiting us, purchasing a book, and enjoying a hot cup of coffee on our comfortable couch!
