Take the shuttle and get in free!
Bryce Canyon is a great place to visit. Having been there and paid to get in, I recommend the shuttle. You can park outside the park and save the $25 admission fee. Get an early start. Take the tours and end the day hit the visitor's center for all your souvenirs.
Even if you decide to drive in, I still recommend the shuttle. You can have the shuttle drop you at Bryce point and hike to any of several destinations downhill from there where the shuttle will pick you up.
    It's the best deal going!

It's convenient in the sense that you can park at Ruby's Inn and get a ride into the park. It's kind of weird in that you have to get into the park, stop at the visitor's center and go all the way to the end to Bryce Point before getting to the other stops along the way. So, if you want to see sunset point, sunrise point, inspiration point or go to the canyon lodge/general store, the ride can be kind of long. We ended up just walking along the rim trail to go backwards, instead of waiting for the shuttle. We just took the shuttle in and out of the park. There's also a different shuttle to get to rainbow point but it only runs twice a day and takes 3hours. We ended up driving back into the park in the evening to do the road ourselves and we were able to kind of catch the sunset which was nice
