    Great WIFI. Check.

    Rain showerhead. Check.

    Comfy beds. Check.

    Excellent soundproofing. Check.

Killer location to both the rest of the city and the subway system. Check.

The hideous light of Times Square coming through the window I could have done without.

Unbeknownst to me, I'd booked one of the top romantic hotels in the city. The service was lovely. The fellow still remembered how to pronounce my last name upon checkout. Something of a rare bird!

We arrived to find that our room was not available and instead received a free upgrade. Score! We unpacked while tuned into runway shows... there was a separate channel?! Nice! The elevators were a fiery feast for the eyes. Shortly after sunset, we returned to dimmed lights and complimentary ginger-passionflower chocolates on our pillows. After a night out, we relaxed in our plush robes, Molton Brown products and the soothing sounds from the ipod-mp3 Bose hookups.

The hotel was very accommodating with our luggage even after check-out. The location was excellent and for my first NYC experience, we couldn't have picked a better place.

My friend and I went to New York from Dec 26 - Jan 4, 2012. The price was decent (I guess?) for the time that we went and everything was super close to the hotel. Honestly I was expecting a little more from the Jr Suite, something along the lines of when I stayed at the JW Marriott in China, but oh well, it was still a very spacious and big room.

The hotel itself houses a lovely, good resturant (Koi) and a pretty decent night spot to hang out at on the Weekends (The Cellar Room). The hotel is also very central to a lot of the big tourist attractions in NY. ~5min walk to Times Square, ~10min walk to Empire State Building and Rockefeller Plaza, you can walk to Central Park which is 20 blocks away (wouldn't recommend this when it's 2*C outside though). FREAKING COLD!

24/7 gym and I think there was a pool? We never got around to either or. They provide Molton Brown shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other Molton Brown products that you may purchase. The menu for room service was very good as well, there were a few occasions where we were too hungover or too drunk to leave the room to get food, so we had to resort to room service.

Overall, I will probably stay at this hotel again, can't beat the convenience and I'm sure the price would be a little more affordable during not so high season.

The hubby and I stayed at the BPH over Labor Day weekend.  I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the "awesome-ness" of this hotel.  Number 1, it's  located steps from Bryant Park.  Number 2, it's art deco design is amazing and the black and red motif in the lobby pops!  The room was outstanding and we had a direct view of the park.

This may seem silly, but the best thing about the room was the bathroom and the shower.  I could actually rent out the bathroom as an apartment in NY!  It's that big.  The shower was so amazing, I stayed in there forever.

I'm going to try and book a room for fashion week in February.  How cool would it be to stay there and walk to across the street to the fashion shows??

This hotel is class meets swank in the heart of midtown. It's half a block from the library, directly across the street from Bryant Park, and is walkable to a few (though not many) dining options.

    STAFF:
-courteous, polite, and helpful. went above and beyond. This goes for everyone from the bellhops to the front desk attendants to the housekeeping staff.

    ROOMS:
-small, but comfortable. Very modern. Nicely done bathrooms, great plush robes.
    -flat screen TV
    -paid internet (blah) - $10/day
-crazy-ass mini bar which I was afraid to even look in for fear of shifting something and having to pay.
-nice-sized closet with shelves and plenty of hangers, a garment bag, free reusable shopping bag with name of hotel, and umbrella in case of rain. (Um, unless someone accidentally left that behind on their visit.)
-great bed. on the small side (maybe a queen or full) but extremely comfortable with a plush white comforter and four pillows.
-I had a really bad view, but my friend who was in the bridal suite had a fabulous view of the park.
-turn-down service with chocolates on the pillow :)

    HOTEL VIBE:
-cool, clubby, modern. Dark, hot elevators with red lights (not kidding - it was like Hell).

    FOOD:
-they have a restaurant, Koi, which my friends ate at for brunch and they loved. We tried to eat there for lunch one day around 3 but they weren't open at that time.

    NIGHTLIFE:
-there's a club downstairs called Cellar Bar. It was like a goth S&M dungeon on acid. I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I had a good time.

    OVERALL:
-would recommend based on hospitality, location, and amenities. Very nice, even though I'm not really into the party scene.

The Bryant Park Hotel is one of my company's preferred hotels in NYC, so on a recent business trip, this is where we stayed. Other reviewers have hit the most important points: very clean, comfortable, good staff (I never had anyone in the lobby/front desk ignore me) and a great location near Bryant Park. Yes, the vibe is a little odd-- the dark red elevator walls with a black floor and the cellar bar are a little Gothic, but it's kind of a cool environment. My room was very bright and the bathroom was huge, especially compared to other hotels I've stayed at in the city. I never had an issue with noise, though my co-worker who had a room with a street view did say her room was a bit more noisy.

One odd, yet funny thing that I have to mention: in the hotel directory of services, the last tab is something called "Objects of Pleasure." You can imagine what those are. Seemed like a strange thing to offer in the services menu, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

I will say that the hotel seems a little bit on the pricey side compared to other hotel deals that I found online, but I was very pleased with the experience, and since my company prefers this hotel, I plan to return.

Had a lovely experience at this hotel - the rooms are big for a NYC hotel, and the staff were very helpful. Our room had a little balcony which was amazing.

We were there with a group of folks for a weekend excursion, and my one gripe was that the concierge recommended a total Bridge and Tunnel crowd club to us as a late-night dance spot. I guess that's what they considered tourists would want as a "seems like a NYC spot" experience, but as someone who lived in NYC for decade, I was disappointed.

Don't send the tourists to the Bay Ridge party scene, Bryant Park Hotel. It was the one blemish in an otherwise amazing stay.

I don't ask for much in a hotel.

    A decent bed.
    Relative control over external noise.
    Cleanliness.

However, when I am given a really comfortable nights sleep that is quite in a very clean room, filled with modern decor, clean lines, in a old building in the middle of midtown.    Then what else could I do but be happy.

Venture to the bar, and although the music does not match the gothic theme of the place, the staff is friendly and the drinks are decent.

I will say this, above all when a concierge is somehow able to move your reservation for Per Se back an hour, there is something there.   That means not only he but the hotel itself has merit in the local establishment.

I will return to NY soon, and its likely this is where I will stay.

Found this hotel as an option on http://priceline.com along with a half dozen hotels that looked okay to us.  A friend of ours from New York suggested this one above the others.  And I'm glad she did!

Firstly, we booked a Junior Suite (since I had my family with me and this is New York) and with a couple emails to the hotel they secured me one with two beds.

Upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and I was surprised to find out that they had bumped us up to a 2 room suite -- even better!

The location was great -- 3 block walking distance to Times Square, 10 blocks to Rockefeller Center and a quick cab ride to Central Park.

Room was good size (by New York standards).  Two rooms and a very nice view.  Modern style -- clean lines and simple look.  Nice view of the park and New York Public Library (of Ghostbusters fame).

We went during Thanksgiving so Bryant Park was set up with a skating rink and little shops -- adding more to the holiday spirit of the stay.

During our entire stay, everyone was nothing but friendly and accommodating.  I will definitely consider staying here again should I ever visit New York (which I probably will).

Glitzy, Ritzy, fashionista hangout, The Bryant Park is a trip (what's with the blood red elevator lighting?!?). I fell happily asleep, only to be woken at 8am by Christina Aguilera singing outside my window (for some morning TV show).

    Nice big bathrooms though.

It  does feel rather glamorous to have to fight off the paparazzi as you make your way out of the hotel though....I think they mistook me for Brad Pitt's little brother.

Having worked with several luxury hotels, I am a hotel snob.  We had a great stay at the Bryant Park Hotel.  Location is perfect and the rooms are clean, modern and luxurious.

Upon arrival, we were taken to our room, where all of the hotel and room amenities were explained to us.  I especially liked the privacy button next to the bed that turns on a red light outside the door.  There were two closets, a large flat screen television, Bose radio system and internet access (with a charge).  The hotel was very accommodating.  We needed extra towels, and they gave us six!

My favorite part of the room was the bathroom!  It was GINORMOUS.  We had a separate shower and a huge bathtub perfect for two.  Hotel puts different Molton Brown bath products so you can test their various lines.

The staff was friendly and very welcoming.  I highly recommend this property to business and leisure travelers!

The lobby of the Bryant Park Hotel is decorated with red leather-upholstered walls, lots of black, simple lines...while the very clean room we stayed in was almost entirely in white and beige with strips of lighting in the walls and a large bathroom entirely lined in peachy marble.  The bed was more comfortable than the Waldorf-Astoria's.  And ladies, listen up, the amenities are cool Molton Brown products.  You can even purchase full-sized items off a shelf in the bathroom.

There was a line out the door every night for the popular Cellar Bar.  If you're staying in the hotel, you just flash your room key to the bouncer and he lets you right in.  So, if you're just dying to hang out at the Cellar Bar...get a room!

We did eat at Koi our first night there, since we arrived from JFK at around 10:00 pm.  It was convenient to have a good restaurant in the hotel for dinner.

We found a reasonable deal on http://Expedia.com and the cost to stay here was no more than the cost to stay at any other great hotel in NYC.  It is located right across the street from the beautiful New York Public Library and Bryant Park, where you can get excellent breakfast and lunch items from the three 'wichcraft stands, and there is a Pax Wholesome Foods down the street on the corner -- as well as a subway station.  Times Square / Theatre District and Grand Central Station are also within easy walking distance from the hotel.   Highly recommended!

    Dig it.

Location:  OK, midtown-ish, right across from subway stop, near Times Square (not that you want to hang out there, but it is central).  Nice that Bryant Park is across the street, so you don't walk out into a dark shadowed street and actually have some green space.  And the Cellar Bar downstairs is pretty cool.  They had a 5-6pm free cocktails deal M-F for hotel guests - nice!

Room/Facilities: we asked for an upgrade and got one - not to a suite, but to a larger room with a King.  It was surprisingly spacious, corner room with decent closets, a sitting area, and good-sized bathroom.  These are Manhattan standards of course, but it was fine.  Decor is sparse, and I hate those giant decorative vinyl pillows, but the bed and sheets were comfy.  One issue - the hot water took forever to get going in the morning.

Service: Totally upbeat and cordial and helpful.  They got us a room reasonably quickly after a red-eye flight (we had to wait until about 9am, but normally check-in is later) and were always helpful at the front desk.

Overall, a good place.  I'd go back, especially if room rates stay low.

The Bryant Park hotel wont blow everyone away, but if you're into fashion, or just like the feel of fashion, its a great choice.  It definitely has its own feel from the minute you walk in the doors of the beautiful building, through their red lobby and even walking around their uniquely lit hallways.

The rooms have a kind of european feel.  They feel sparse, i guess, but you're not missing anything.  Its just kind of open and light and minamalist.  The rooms are very cool-ly lit, with lots of dimmers and lightswitches for moods, an ipod dock,  a great flat screen tv, and a kick ass minibar (AND a kick ass honor bar full of decadent bath products).  The bathroom is roomy and luxurious too.

Locationwise, if you're into fashion, you cant really beat it.  (or even if you're not)  You're right across from Bryant Park, and a short walk to Times Square, PennStation, Grand Central, so you can get virtually anywhere in the city without trouble, and you're a short walk to the ICP, great shopping, and a great magazine store.

Skip the breakfast in the hotel restaurant unless money is no object.  Its decent but very pricey.  $30 for eggs and bacon and toast, with another 7 for a glass of OJ is just too much.

We loved our stay at the Bryant Park. I recently got married, and my husband and I stayed at the Bryant Park with many family and friends for the weekend of the wedding. It was perfect! The location - right off Bryant Park with a view of the park, the library, and the beautiful skyline - is fantastic and extremely convenient, the staff is wonderful and helpful, and the rooms are spectacular (including the bathrooms with skyline views) - if you are lucky you will book one with a terrace over the park. Thank you to the Bryant Park for making our wedding weekend wonderful!

The Bryant Park Hotel is my current favorite hotel in NYC. I've stayed at way too many of the cute little boutique and trendy hotels around the city, and have enjoyed the BPH the most so far ..

When we checked in we were lucky to be bumped up to a mini-suite (it was my birthday! woohoo) and the suite was very nice - a view 20+ floors up of Byrant Park to one side, and the empire state building on the other side. The room was big - one of the largest I have had in NYC at a "reasonable" price .. the bathtub was also HUGE.  Shortly after we settled in they stopped by with a snack, and then a little later some chocolates.

Bryant Park is a decent location if you have business or plans midtown, and its not too far from downtown or uptown. a nice central location.

Part of the good deal we got here is the free valet parking - we checked in friday afternoon and stayed til late saturday and parking was free - this could have set us back 40-80$ elsewhere .. not bad.

The staff at BPH was all very nice and friendly, the hotel was clean and quiet for being in the middle of Manhattan.

The only things i didnt like - the bathtub only had hot water - and it was scalding .. had to run the handheld shower into the tub to cool it down... and we asked for a late check out and that was no problem, but when we returned from brunch we were locked out of our room :( we weren't told the doors all lock at 12.. also, having to pay $10 for wifi feels like 1995.. how do NYC hotels still get away with this?? these minor things aside, BPH is #1 on my list for NYC lodging..

    The good:  Great location.

The bad:  Small room and layout not well handled.

In short:  Got totally shafted in the room dept. when I had to visit NYC for work.  My co-workers and I were down for the same room category but they each had much more space for the same category/price.

For the money, go to the London NYC to get more room.

Downstairs in the "cellar" they have a decent club here.  The DJ could use some work, but not bad.  $8 beers and $12 cocktails.  Plus you get the added benefit of sexy girls dancing behind the bar.  This is fine if you're with a few guys, but if you get distracted away from the girls you're actually trying to talk to, it may get you in trouble.  Oh yeah, and a couple of Mln Matchmaker sightings.  =)

Definitely one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in... At first look, the lobby is quite small and the decor is very modern... However, what won us over was the service. The front desk was always very helpful and made many suggestions for us, also being very patient when we had questions... The bell boys were very nice and cute. Haha. We had a junior suite with a full view of Bryant Park, and being as into fashion and clothing as I am... That was very exciting. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with Molton (sp?) shower products which were very nice... Great location and view, about a five minute walk from Times Square, and a two minute walk from the Alice+Olivia boutique... Hehe. Definitely the place to stay if you're ever in New York!

Service here is top notch, they will take great care of you. Andres was the best!  It's a little creepy and also very awesome that they address you by name when you call down to the front desk.

This place is not totally geared to those traveling with kids, though there are some hidden gems that will help you along....1. They don't have cribs, BUT the tiny chaise makes a great little bed for a toddler, just use one of their crazy long bolster pillows to hold the little guy in there. 2. right across from the carousel in Bryant Park, guaranteed to make the little ones smile 3.  The red lights in the elevator really made my tot's day.

The free valet parking on the weekends CAN NOT BE BEAT!

For an inexpensive meal, try Pax on the corner.

    Now this is a hotel!

Chic lighting and detailed decor are important here but the service speaks for itself.  Never have I felt so cool, and yet so comfortable at the same time.

Some people complained that their view wasn't great.... ummm... welcome to New York.  The view was never intended to be spectacular from your room.  It's intended to be spectacular when you get out in the city.  If you're looking at another office building then you should be thankful you are not facing the street and hearing the sirens.

If you have the opportunity, stay here.

The rooms are small but decorated nicely. Mine was a corner room with a view of a brick wall. While the furnishings were very modern and cool-looking, they were also uncomfortable and impractical. The chairs had very little padding and very low backs. The coffee table and side tables were flimsy. There was no desk, and the climate control seemed to be a dummy box. Lighting was mostly indirect/ambient with hidden controls that took me several minutes to find. The bathroom was large and well-equipped, but it literally took five full minutes for the shower to heat up.

During my two-night stay, most of the staff exhibited courteous, attentive service, however there were a couple bad apples. Very bad apples, in fact. How unfortunate. I like this hotel, I really do. The location is so convenient and relatively quiet. For the price, however, I'd rather stay at the Ritz-Carlton where the service is impeccable.

Although the red elevators are a bit creepy, i have to say the rooms are very clean & neat.  Furniture wise, nothing really fancy just a couple pieces of very nice furniture.  As for the bed, having a comfy bed is so important especially on long trips, this place definitely makes sure their guests get good ZzzzZ's.  And it's right across from the park! the location is perfect for people to who want to be in the middle of it all w/out having to deal w/ the crowds of Times Square.

Cellar Bar is the bar in the hotel, and quite a treat.  Although in the basement of the hotel, it still feels very welcoming and warm.  Hotel guests get complimentary drinks from 5-7pm Monday - Friday (I think those are correct times?)

Would I come back? In a heartbeat! :)

I checked in late tonight and was met by a very kind staff who was eager to help me feel comfortable and everyone I spoke to on the phone or in person was cheerful and friendly. I had to do some last minute set up for meetings tomorrow morning and the on-site engineer even delivered an extension cord up to us at 11 PM!

The rooms itself are small but cozy. It's clean and quiet, despite being in one of the busiest neighborhoods in New York. The corner suite we have for meetings is insane. Not only is it huge with beautiful views, it has a full bath complete with shower and seperate bath tub.

What I like best about this hotel:
    - It's small and quiet. Just what you need after a day of bustling, loud Manhattan
    - Molton Brown products!!!
    - Location: Just two blocks from Times Square
    - 24 hour room services, great for midnight munchies
    - Fast wireless Internet

Agree that the tiny red elevators are kind of creepy though. At least they're fast!

I am an absolute sideshow when it comes to hotel cleanliness. I do not usually enjoy staying in hotels because they freak me out. (Damn 20/20, 60 minutes exposes ruin everything) I did not feel like this at all at the Bryant Park. This was, by far, the cleanest hotel I have stayed at. The decor was very cool, modern, chic and simple. (to me, simplicity= less things to get dusty, so woo-hoo!)The outside of the hotel is majestic and lovely. The inside is decorated in red and black, there was also a stunning flower arrangement in the lobby. The staff was wonderful, doormen, bellhop and front desk staff were all upbeat, personable and right on point. For a trendy place, there was absolutely no pretentious bullshit. We arrived 2 hours before check in. We popped in and asked if we could check in early and they stated they were planning on putting us on the 9th floor but we could check in early if we didn't mind the 6th floor. We did not mind at all. They then proceeded to upgrade our room, for free. The location of the hotel is awesome; you are only a few blocks away from Times Square, the subway, the Theater District, 5th avenue and lots of shopping.

The room was immaculate. You could have eaten off the floor. There was a large bed with stark white linens covering it. None of that swirly floral bedspread crap that you get at most hotels which is designed to cover up god knows what. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were heavenly. There is an area set up in the room where you can set up your laptop. It has a comfy little seating area and a workspace. There is also a fax in the closet should you need it. There are flat screen TVs in every room, Bose radios with complimentary CDs to check out, Klipsch speakers. There is also a well stocked mini bar with premium liquors, interesting snacks like gourmet chocolates and nuts. The bathroom was huge, and absolutely spotless. It had a separate soaking tub and large shower.

There is a Koi restaurant in the hotel which does room service until all hours. There is also a Cellar bar. The fitness center is open 24 hours, not that my fat ass set foot in there, but it was good to know. I was very impressed with this hotel. They did not leave out a single detail. Seriously, there is an umbrella in the closet if you need it, and a white noise machine by the bed if you want to use it...  A heads up, they do housekeeping services twice a day, the second time between 5:30 and 10, so if you don't want it, make sure you hit the privacy button next to the bed.

Also, another tip, I booked the Hotel on Expedia and got a great deal. Yahoo travel and a few other sites had "deals" for more than it would have cost for booking it directly through the hotel! Yahoo was $100 more!

I would, without a doubt stay here again.

The highlights of our room were the large well equipped bathroom and a large balcony with a great view! The BOSE wave radio and wide screen TV made spending time in the room enjoyable. Overall the decor, housekeeping, front desk,  and bell staff added to a very positive experience!

All deluxe view rooms and Junior Suites are both nicely sized and provide views of Bryant Park.  On site Dining is KOI Restaurant, featuring Japanese inspired cuisine with California accents. The Cellar Bar is the 3,000 square foot cavernous lounge for nightlife. In room private dining is available 24 hours-a-day.  Bryant Park is adjacent to the hotel and Central Park is about 1 mile away.  The hotel is around the corner from 5Th Avenue shopping!  The Theater District and Times Square are just a few blocks away!

OMG, I looooove this place. Housed inside a beautiful Gothic Art Deco building is one of the trendiest hotels in NY. My stay here overlapped with part of fashion week and the staff did not miss a beat. Not a thing is overlooked at the Bryant Park Hotel. Take a ride in their orgasmatrons...errr, their elevators, open up the door to your suite, and the world is your oyster. You have got to experience this place. Bravo!

I was immediately somewhat disappointed with the Bryant Park hotel. The lobby was not very fabulous and the doorman and bellhops not as attentive as Id like. (although I later found out my boyfriend had excused the bellhop from taking our bags to our room, but that doesn't make up for the majority of times an employee was standing at the door and made no effort to open the door for me). We went to our room - which was a Bryant Park Suite - and I was again somewhat disappointed, but the place did grow on me the longer we stayed. It just did not seem as sumptuous and well-appointed as I was hoping for, or in comparison to other NYC hotels I have stayed at. The view we had from our multitude of windows was excellent though. Especially at night, you could see Times Square lighting up the sky just a couple blocks away. The bathroom was my favorite part. It was HUGE. HUGE bath, large separate shower, mirrors everywhere, and I thought the very square sink was a really cool design. The Bose speakers and iPod hook-up through-out the suite was pretty nice and handy too.
I really liked Bryant Park itself. It was a very cute park. And it looked like they were beginning to prepare for the upcoming fashion week. The hotel though, I was very surprised its the hub for fashion week. It just did not seem outstandingly chic enough to me at all, especially after all I had heard about it.
There was really nothing terribly wrong with the hotel, but I personally have no interest in staying there again. I don't love staying in Midtown for one thing so I suppose in that respect I'm biased, and I've preferred my prior stays in hotels Downtown.
I would however, definitely recommend it for others wanting to stay in a convenient Midtown location and who are looking for a somewhat chic environment.

This review is about 2 weeks overdue but my memory has not failed me. From check in to check out, service was impeccable! The front desk employees were friendly and welcoming. Nicole was an absolute delight! Her professionalism and upbeat attitude made our experience all the more enjoyable. Brian, the concierge, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The service staff was always present and willing to assist - from hailing a taxi to greeting us at the door. There is a genuine warmth that makes your guests feel at ease. This is truly a reflection of a great establishment!
Our Junior suite was very spacious and clean! The bathroom large and I loved the Molten Brown products and we had a beautiful view of Bryant Park. Loved the fact that there was free cocktail hour from 4-6pm for guests in their popular club/lounge. Free admission and easy access each night so you can beat the crowds. Can't wait until my next visit here!

Wonderful hotel--this is the first time that I have been satisfied with my experience at a hotel in NYC.  Chic design, with a great restaurant (Koi) embedded in the hotel, a sweet bar in basemement (cellar bar) and SPACIOUS rooms!!!  The staff even deigned to smile, once in a while.  The subtle nuances to the design of the room and the amenities were perfect.  Stay here (of course, you may need a decent budget or wallet to afford it).

I stayed there this past weekend for my birthday.  We had a double room on the 7th floor.  The hotel has a relaxed jazzy hip vibe to it. From the red light, red-padded elevators (very sassy) to the dimly lit sheik rooms. I didn't get a chance to go to the Cellar Bar but I hear it's incredible.  The service was friendly and humble, considering the atmosphere of the place.  The 5 stars really belong to the concierge who saved my weekend, by booking dinner reservations for a party of 15 t with 10 minutes notice!

I stayed here on business and have to say I loved this hotel and would stay here again on my next trip.  All the details are clean/modern but warm and earthy, not too cold.  The room was big compared to other rooms I've had in NY.  The bathroom was nice/clean and to my delight they had Molten Brown travel toiletries - my favorite!   We had a party in the cellar bar at night too and that was a great space and good cocktails.  All in all great place and fairly reasonable - highly recommended.

This is a good location if you need to be in Midtown, but perhaps also want to go to the Village or downtown.  On 40th you can avoid the heavy traffic you hit a few blocks up.  It is also a good location it you want to visit Times Square - as it is near the sites but not as congested as the hotels that surround the square.  The hotel tries a little too hard to be hip - sort of Ian Schrager circa 2002.  Lots of red and black that seems a little dated now.  The rooms are simple and clean - all white - very nice bathrooms, comfy beds, flat screen television.  The concierge was very mediocre - didn't return my call and then disappeared. There is a free happy hour for guests in the very hip bar.  I prefer The Tuscany W, or if I am staying higher The London, but this is a good choice if the location suits you.

Though I have not had the pleasure of staying here, I have had a chance to host a fashion presentation here during the most recent Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I must say the staff is amazing! Chris Cestari, The Director of Sales, bends over backwards to ensure that his clients are happy. We definitely appreciated that. He is meticulous and very detailed oriented. He also never forgets a name and face. He remember all kinds of details about my client including that she had a son and made a little gift for him to take home (how sweet is that?!). I definitely will do more events (and make sure I spend at least one night) with at the Bryant Park Hotel.

An okay stay, but watch your bill afterwards.

My husband and I stayed in a Junior Suite for two nights last weekend to celebrate my birthday.  Overall it was okay--no major problems during our stay but several annoyances afterwards that unfortunately marred my last impressions.

    PLUSES:
    - Location: Bryant Park was lovely and it was very walkable to the subway and everywhere else we wanted to go, yet the street it was on was relatively quiet and peaceful, without any of the noise you'd expect from being so close to Times Square.
    - Free valet parking on weekends!  Fantastic.
    - Room size was excellent, with a king bed, two chaises, a coffee table, and a full dining table for four.
    - Loved the strong water pressure in the shower.
    - Chocolates and turn-down service, always appreciated.

    MINUSES:
    - We requested a copy of the Sunday Times to be delivered, but I guess our request was forgotten because we got the New York Post instead, just like everyone else.
    - The TV reception was pretty poor.  Not that we were in New York to watch TV but during the brief times when we were winding down from the day, it did seem rather amateurish to deal with poor picture quality and intermittent sound from one of the speakers.
    - At check-in, the clerk asked if we had brought a laptop and wanted internet access.  I said sure, so he wrote down an access code for us.  Two days after getting home, I noticed a $20.63 charge on my credit card.  I called the hotel and found out that it was for two days of internet access at $9.95/day.  Rather misleading that he didn't mention the charge when giving us the access code, and the woman I spoke with on the phone didn't offer to reverse it either, even when I said that we were not informed of the charge beforehand.  It wasn't until my husband called back did it get straightened out.  So we did end up getting a refund but this was certainly a hassle that should have been avoided in the first place.
    - And yet another billing hassle.  We were charged $32 for an umbrella.  It was raining on Sunday morning, so we borrowed an umbrella from the closet when we went out for coffee.  We did not take it with us when we checked out later that day, yet our credit card was billed for it a few days later.

Note that none of these charges were on our account at the time we checked out--they only appeared on my credit card later.  All told, 3 phone calls to get $50+ of additional charges reversed is a pain.

Recently stayed in the hotel for three nights. It's a great location in the centre of Midtown. Room was spacious, Furnishings were long on design but short on practicality. Excellent view of a brick wall or the nudist in the buildng opposite. The room temperature was freezing whatever adjustment to the temperature dial. The water temperature was also similarly freezing. Report  to front desk resulted in vague apology. For the price, there are far better hotels!
