I'm not that much of a breakfast person, but when my Mother uttered the word "Waffle" while driving down Wilshire, I made a mad dash to my Urbanspoon app and found this place nearby.
When walking in, there isn't a formal "waiting area" because there's no need. We were seated immediately even though there's an ample amount of people already in the restaurant. The dining area is an optimistic color of yellow with cute momentos of enlarged utensils attached to the walls.
We got the nice two-seater next to the window and immediately ordered their coffee (We saw the red 'illy' logo on the window, so of course we jumped at it). The two LARGE mugs came with a small pitcher of cream and the sugars are already provided on the table. Delicious!
I was weighing my menu options, but decided on ordering a plain Mini Waffle ($3) (When in Rome!) with the Fruit Boat ($5.25). My mother, ever the purist, ordered the regular classic waffle ($6.75) and 2 Fried Eggs ($3.50). Although through browsing the menu, they really do get creative with waffles!
Our food came in a timely manner and with all of our modifications (Fruit sans Whipped Cream, Waffles without Powdered Sugar). Our verdict? Pretty Good!
The Waffles had a great vanilla flavor, the Fruit was fresh, and the Eggs were cooked exactly how my Mother wanted them.
Only complaint? MIss Picky said she wanted butter with her waffle. (I beg to differ, I think it was perfect without it.)
If I have a hankerin' for a waffle, I'll definetely be back. A tad bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay it.
* On a side note, it was pretty humourous seeing this really skinny kid get a big plate of Chicken and Waffles, only to pour Maple Syrup all over it. -

Came here after eating dindin at the Veggie Grill right down the street.
Dessert Waffles? Yes please!
The place is super cute and cozy, it wasn't too busy, we sat down, ordered our banana split waffles and it came out in less than 10 minutes.
The next 5 minute flew by, we devoured our waffles, cleaned up our plate like champions, paid the check and left happily fed, sweet tooth satisfied, date night win.
Waffle is fresh, warm, crispy with a soft center, you can't get much better waffles than this. Price is not on the cheap side, i think we paid $15 including tax and tip. Portion wasn't big, but maybe that's a blessing in disguise. -

It's a very friendly, homey ambiance. Can't sit many per table but a nice place for brunch with your beau or your granny. I expected service to be hell from a bunch of people saying it sucked but it wasn't too bad.
Chicken & Waffle with Mango Salsa was great. It was a bit funny to eat waffle with syrup after a chicken was laying on it for a while though.
My husband got one of the burgers and that was pretty delish as well.
I just wish their prices were cheaper...this place rips a hole in your pocket. =( -

I'll let you in on a little secret! Just be sure that you don't tell anyone and that you keep it just between us, OK? So shhhhhhh...
As you walk into Bru's Wiffle, there is a green, rectangular table against the far wall. It may be the only green table in the place, as I believe all of the other ones are light brown. If you get seated at that table, there is a hidden drawer on the far side where people leave notes and secrets. if you get the chance, leave one...I did!
Besides the secret drawer, the food here is really good! We brought my aunt who was visiting LA to Bru's last week, and it was a great choice for the family. Everyone found something that they liked, and I really enjoyed my meal. I was super hungry, so I ordered the Big breakfast. It came with turkey sausage, smoked applewood bacon, breakfast potatoes & scrambled egg and a waffle. I don't like eggs, so I asked if I could substitute for more bacon. The waitress said I could substitute the eggs for more meat for a $1 extra. After I chuckled, I agreed with getting the extra meat.
The size of my meal was pretty substantial, but I finished it off. I liked everything that I ate, but the waffle was especially good. I have had better in LA, but not by much. After I was done with my food, I continued to eat my mom's leftover half of a waffle, and then my aunt and I split a banana split waffle. I obviously enjoyed the waffles! The banana split waffle could have used more than just one scoop of ice cream, but it was delicious none the less. A more accurate name for it would be a waffle sundae because I would expect more ice cream and toppings included with a banana split.
Bru's Wiffle is a good place to get breakfast or a waffle at. It was perfect place to take my family for a meal, and I will be back for sure. They take reservations, so getting in and out quick was fairly easy. Thumbs up Bru's! -

One of my newest breakfast discoveries in Santa Monica. There's always a steady stream of people in the morning to afternoon hours, but the wait is usually not that long. But everyone is definitely craving some of the waffles. You'll notice as you're waiting that everyone has one on their plate, and for good reason.
Bru's makes their own fresh waffles. Delicious and the quality shows. There's all sorts from sweet to savory plates, I happen to enjoy the chicken and waffles the most. The chicken is fried very well. Not too oily with good consistency and great flavor. Compliments the housemade waffles and hot sauce! Yummm.
Service is always quick and friendly. Overall, a very cute restaurant and definitely worth a visit. Since I live on the Westside, it makes me glad I don't have to trek very far for some quality chicken and waffles. And even if I get tired of those, there are tons of other plates I'd love to try out as well. -

Too die for! I visited Cali for the first time in March 2012 with some friends. It's been 2 months since our trip and we cannot stop talking about this place! The food was fresh (esp the avocados), delicious, and made with Love!! You need you to come to ATL Bru's Wiffle!!

One of the best places to grab brunch! Very cute, homey cafe with plenty of tables inside and a few tables right outside in the patio area. My boyfriend brought me here to see if I like this place or Roscoe's better for their chicken and waffles. :D
Food:
-Festive chicken: Really good! I was quite impressed. You get two large pieces of fried chicken, boneless, nicely breaded, moist and delicious! The pieces of chicken were presented on top of a nice, fluffy waffle. I like the waffle here way better than Roscoe's flat-dry waffle. And, the chicken'n'waffle was served with a mango pico de gallo which gave it a nice flavor! Loved it! :)
-Breakfast Sliders: Surprisingly good too! :) You get three little sliders made out of mini-waffles. Inside, it's served with scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. They make look small, but really filling. And somehow, their eggs taste really good and flavorful! Definitely a nice breakfast dish.
Service:
The waitress was really friendly. Service was good. They refilled our waters in a timely manner. Just need to
Parking:
Street/meter parking
Must try one of their dessert waffles next time! Seems like I may need to split an entree to fit in a dessert. :)
If you want chicken and waffles, this is the place to go! I like a lot better than Roscoe's! :) -

I am not really a waffle person but going to a restaurant that has the word waffle in the name kinda forces you to get one. After eating at Bru's I am still not a waffle person. The waffle was flavorless and I didn't think there was anything that interesting on the menu. All the the waffles came with scrambled eggs which I hate so I ended up getting a plain waffle ($6.95) with strawberrys for an extra dollar. I did enjoy the turkey sausage I ordered on the side because it had great flavor. I noticed people on yelp complained about the service but we went on a crowded Saturday morning and had no problem with service. The dessert waffles looked good, but what doesn't look good drenched in chocolate? Not sure if I will go back.

As far as waffle joints go, this is the best around. I couldn't even tell you about the rest of the menu as I am always so consumed by the HUGE variety of waffle options. From the Waco (waffle taco) to the Banana Split Waffle to Pizza Waffle to the delicious Chicken and Waffles, the options will definitely keep you coming back for more. The staff is always friendly, and the place itself is a well done rendition of a homey and welcoming local breakfast spot.
The Chicken and Waffles are some of the best I have ever eaten, served with a variety of different sauces (gravy, hot sauce, ranch, and syrup) and will leave you filled to the brim with syrupy fried chicken and waffle batter goodness. The decision between a savory and sweet option is always tough, so you're better off bringing some friends and making sure you can try a few! The waffle itself is everything you could ask for in a waffle, light, flavorful, and just crispy enough, and the perfect foundation for the variety of toppings you'll find. Some of the dishes (like the Hot Moma) have their own unique waffle batter that really adds to the flavor of the dish. -

Snuck in here last Saturday morning when it wasn't too busy - we were able to get a parking spot in the lot behind the building.
There was a table open out front on their sidewalk ("patio") so we took it. The menu is pretty simple, lots of waffle-themed options. I got "The king" and my date got "chocolate party".
My waffle was good. They're small (bigger than eggo's though) but they are also "light" tasting so you don't really feel that carb-clogged after eating them. I would order my meal again, but with Bacon, peanut butter, and bananas, it would have been hard to go wrong!
My date said her waffles were kind of dry, but they looked good. They also have a cream they make with the oreo-doused waffle that is really good.
Definitely not the best breakfast place for penny-pinchers but it's a cool place nonetheless. -

If you're looking for quaint and delish in one go down Wilshire, look no further. My friend and I visited today, and while the wait wasn't something to be envied (30 minutes feels like purgatory time when you're starving), it was more than worth it. The venue feels like indoor sunshine mixed with the flapper days transposed onto the 21st century. I ordered the churro waffle, which came topped with a strongly-flavored but wonderfully creamy scoop of cinnamon ice cream. Imagine the most cinnamon-y snickerdoodle in the world--then multiply it by ten, and add syrup, and bingo: delectable churro waffle.
We also saw the amazing fried-chicken-slabs-on-waffles go by. If I ate chicken, rest assured that it would be the first thing to go. -

I know everyone raves about the chicken and waffles in east L.A., but Bru's is more than enough reason to stay on the Westside (that and the ocean and cleaner air). My friend Jamie suggested this place, and during our 30-minute wait (quoted at 15-20 min. when we checked in), I gave the menu a once over and felt overwhelmed in the best way possible. Savory waffles (including 4 different styles of chicken & waffles), dessert waffles, waffle scrambles and Bru's special waffles... plus for you non-wafflers: typical brunch fare, burgers, paninis, sandwiches, soups and salads. There is something for even the pickiest eaters. Unless, of course, you don't like food.
I was torn between the Festive Chicken (Bru's famous chicken & waffle dish with mango pico de gallo and mango sauce) and Bru's Favorite Breakfast (a waffle topped with eggs scrambled with two kinds of cheese and proscuitto). I went with the former.
While there was PLENTY of chicken and just one waffle, I was thoroughly satisfied with my meal. You get a choice of white or dark chicken breast (SO much easier to eat boneless chicken), and the white is juicier than the norm). The taste of the Madagascar vanilla beans used to make every waffle was quite evident from the smell and the first bite. The waffle's consistency was a great crunchy and soft combination and never got too soggy with the mango sauce. If you're less adventurous and mango salsa isn't your thing, Bru's offers 4 sauces with your chicken and waffles, and you can have a little of each. -

Came here on a Wednesday after dinner at Barney's and heard good reviews about this place. At the time that I actually ate here I thought this place was really good, in fact, better than Syrup but now after having had some time to "reflect" it really wasn't all that.
I liked that the waffle was pretty huge, enough to share with one other person, maybe even 2 people. Waffle had a good balance of crunchiness and moistness. There was lots of banana and strawberries and the nutella substitute for chocolate was a great decision. But, there were a few things I didn't like about this waffle.
First off, when sharing this waffle with my boyfriend he thought "ok just cut down the middle, you get one ice cream scoop and ill get the other". WRONG. One of those ice cream scoops was whipped cream and it just so happened to be the half of the waffle that I got. Now, my bf and I love ice cream so by the time I had realized this, he was nearly done with his waffle and Ice cream that I barely got any. It wasn't his fault tho since both of us thought both of the scoops were ice cream. Why would they put just as much whip cream as ice cream?? Why not put two scoops of I've cream since the waffle is so big. Whip cream is suppose to be a supplemental topping, a garnish, not part of the meal. That was so disappointing on top of having to pay 11 bucks for it.
I also didn't like that the fruits were warm. It might've gotten warm bc of the waffle but I like my fruit cold, nearly frozen but not quite frozen if you know what I mean. Eating warm fruits is like drinking room temp soda or beer. It ain't suppose to be that way.
Also, the waffle may have been big, but I guess it made up for the lack of depth the waffle had. It may have been big but it was flat (that's what she said). I like my waffles thick and Belgian, and if I'm paying $11 for a waffle, it better not look like they took an eggo waffle and used a rolling pin to make it look bigger and flatter. Nah-uh.
So overall, this place is okay. Not great and nothing special. -

Great waffles; fluffy and big squared. However, the service is okay, and the WAIT. omfg when I'm hungry, I HATE waiting. So I called to reserve a spot and we STILL waited for 40 minutes! I saw people that were walk-ins seated before us (we were only 3 people so we weren't that hard to seat) and that PISSED ME OFF. However, the chicken and waffles were decent. I liked that it came with hot sauce hehe. Worth going to at least once, but not if you're starving. The atmosphere is a bit cramped as well.

Decent food but AWFUL service. They left our table of five to fend for ourselves after a more than 45 minutes wait that we were told would only take "a few minutes to get seated" because a table was just about to get up. They offered to take our order while we were waiting outside which they would bring to our table once we were sat. The order was right but we did not get what the menu promised. For instance the chocolate waffle should have come two to an order and my friend only received one waffle with not much on it. My mango chicken and waffle was good but not worth the $14 for a few pieces of fried chicken, one plain waffle and a spoon of mango salsa. But the worst part was - after we were seated, our food arrived immediately after (which meant it was sitting on the counter) and we NEVER saw a server again. Multiple servers, busboys and even the manager passed right by us and nobody stopped to refresh our coffee or even refill our water. Finally after sitting there for an hour after being seated, we were able to flag someone down to bring us our tab. This server handed our table to the manager to run and 15 minutes later, I finally walked up to the hostess area to find out what was taking so long. It was at this point that I complained about the service and things really went south.
Me: I never normally do this, but the service was unbelievably bad. I dont know who our server was but we never had anyone come by our table.
Manager: Were you sitting at the same table the whole time? Were you at table 41?
Me: Yeah, we were sitting at the same table the whole time. I don't know what table we are at.
(At this point I am wondering why he would ask if we moved tables, and I'm wondering why the manager would ever ask a customer what table number they were at. How the hell would I know that?)
Me: Look, I'm only telling you this because you're a small business and you should know that this is not the way your treat your diners.
Manager: Oh yeah, thank you.
At no point did anyone apologize or offer to comp anything. Honestly I would have given it another shot if I felt like I was valued at all as a customer there. But when the manager doesn't even seem to care or "get it", what's the point of ever trying this place again?
Shame on you, Bru's Wiffle. You have potential but you just don't seem to care. -

I met a friend here that was visiting from San Diego with her dog. I had done a search on pet friendly places near Santa Monica that had a menu with variety, and Bru's met all our needs.
A little hard to find for a newcomer, but parking was easy. Outdoor seating was limited, but perfect for both of us and her dog. They even brought out a bowl of water for her while we were eating.
My friend had the curry chicken salad and she loved it. I tried the PB & Jelly waffle, and it was delicious with no additions (I like my waffles dry - as all I need is whatever topping they give me - very few exceptions I'll douse a waffle with syrup).
Service was great. Sometimes when you sit outside, servers can forget about you, but they were amazing. They were very patient with us while we initially caught up with each other and seemed like it took forever before we actually ordered. Very sweet staff.
Considering I just moved to the area, and I have plenty of other places to explore before I come back, I will definitely keep them on my list for a future visit. -

Popular place in the neighborhood, so be prepared for a wait. Very nice waitstaff. Big selection of waffles, but I think my expectations might have been set too high. Got "The King" with peanut butter, banana, and bacon. The waffles weren't are flatter than the Belgian style I prefer. The peanut butter was liquidy - maybe mixed with butter? The banana could've been riper. And the bacon could've been crispier. Still, it was a pleasant experience, so I'd go bag - maybe just try a different waffle.

Review from Kathy Y.
I think the longer you wait for places, the more time there is to look at small details. Ok, small may not be the word for this place. I saw GIANT things while waiting a long time to be seated. I wish I could take the GIANT fork and spoon off the walls. I also wish I could take the waffle rug from the front door. SO CUTE! Once we were seated, I fell in love with the beautiful and colorful flowers on the tables. Made it feel so cozy inside!
My friend and I shared the Dwight's special chicken and waffle. I'll have to say it's a big portion. I wouldn't say GIANT mainly because I was still a tiny bit hungry afterwards... but it could have been because I was so hungry waiting and waiting and the food was great. The chicken was moist and the pico de gallo sauce over the waffles and chicken made a great combo.
I'd recommend coming here at least once in your life. Staff is friendly, yes...you'll probably have to wait for a long time, but you have to focus on the giant details and it'll humor you while you wait. You should also look up "my spoon is too big" on youtube. -
Review from Rina L.
I'm so disappointed with my last visit. I don't know if its because they're getting more popular or not...but charging $0.95 for literally ONE sliced strawberry, $0.95 for 2oz of whipped cream, and $1.50 to switch out my sausage for bacon (on my big breakfast) is RIDICULOUS.
Ugh. SO DISAPPOINTED.Listed in: Top Restaurants, My Neighborhood

My first yelp review. Should be fun!
Ambiance: Medium to loud noise level. I wouldn't study here, but its homey and comfortable. Everything looks new and clean. Bathrooms are clean. Very casual and welcoming feel. Bright yellow colors are nice with tasty photos of their Waffles. While we were waiting I was really hungry looking at the pictures. We got there around 10am on a Saturday and it was crowded. Waited 10 minutes for my girlfriend and I.
Food: We got Dwight's special chicken and waffle and banana split waffle. Both were delicious. Both tasted fresh and I couldn't make them myself at home. That's why I gave it 5 stars. The chicken could use some more seasoning, but the 4 dipping sauces it came with made up for the lack of seasoning. Wasn't too oily and moist. I enjoyed all the dipping sauces. They just seemed like normal syurp, hot sauce, ranch, and gravy, but with them combined it was amazing. The waffle was fluffy and soft. The banana split wasn't overly sweet. Individually the ingredients themselves was nothing special, but their combination was awesome. The water was actually really good too. We just asked for iced water and it tasted like there was some cucumber and melon in there.
Service: Friendly. Our water was refilled quickly. We were asked frequently if we needed anything else. They asked how the food was and how we were doing.
Conclusion: Will definitely be back and would recommend others to go. -

Bru's Wiffle a Waffle Joint.....a cute name like that is very telling about the restaurant itself. We came on a rainy saturday morning after a bike ride along the Santa Monica Pier. We got a spot right in front of the restaurant: metered parking which was actually pretty cheap. 75 cents = 1 hour of parking.
The wait was only 15 minutes, praise God! The room was small, but colorful. Cheerful yellow walls with 1 bright green table, 1 cards folding table and other assorted pine-looking tables in the room. We were seated at the green table right under the Bru's Waffle sign. Perfect for our photos.
Soo glad I came with other foodies who like to try new things! We tried the fried chicken and waffles, the "Popeye" waffle, the Pecan/Banana waffle and the sweet potato fries. Yum. My favorite was the fried chicken and waffles. You get your choice of white or dark meat. We went with 1 of each. The chicken is lightly battered and is not soaked in grease like other places which make fried chicken. The waffle is slightly sweet since they use vanilla beans to make it. It came with sides of ranch, hot sauce and maple syrup. SOOO good. Insanely good. This was my favorite dish.
The "Popeye" waffle was okay---scrambled eggs, mushroom, tomatoes and onion on top of a belgian waffle. It wasn't spectacular like the fried chicken and waffle.
The Pecan/Banana waffle was excellent. We asked for cinnamon ice cream on the side. It was the perfect accompaniment to the waffle. The pecans were lightly toasted and the bananas were not too soft. With maple syrup, this dish was excellent.
The sweet potato fries were not waffle like. They were not bad, but not excellent. We thought the fries would be in waffle shapes, but that's okay.
Then the juices. Bru's offers freshly squeezed apple, orange, grapefruit and pear juices. We tried the pear juice and it was awesome. Just like blending up sweet pears. No sugar added. Frothy and pulp-intact. Yum. My other friend got the ginger tea which has freshly grated ginger, some mint and hot water.
Price? Affordable for breakfast. This place is worth stopping in if you're super hungry and you like fried chicken. -
Review from Bonnie C.
I will tell you a secret....this place takes reservations! Never hurts to call and ask, even if Yelp says they dont take reservations, especially when you have a group of 8, for a small restaurant.
All the rave has been about the chicken n' waffles, which is the "festive chicken" on the menu. Portionwise, it's big enough for two gals to split, and to compare with Roscoe's, I'd say the mangos, and pico de gallo, makes the dish a little more "fresh" than Roscoe's. I deifnitely would feel less guilty eating chicken n' waffles here.
Tip #2. Not a good place for mimosas...as one itty bitty cup, costs $12 :( -
Review from Grace R.
Irvine, CA
The best chicken waffle I ever have. The fried chicken is lightly breaded and perfectly fried. Not greasy at all. I order the white meat chicken and the first bite was so juicy I'm instantly in love. So under the 2 pieces of scrumptious fried chicken is the fluffy belgium waffle. Crunchy outside and soft airy inside. I can't stop thinking about ever since I had it.
The server offered four different kinds of sauce to go with it, but I can't decide which to go with. Instead of picking one, she suggested to get all four: maple syrup, tabasco, creamy ranch, and this chicken soup sauce. After it was served, I tried to dip different sauce with every bite, I still can't pick my favorite. They're all complement well to the dish.
Potion is more than enough for me, but I know my husband would be able to devour that without a doubt. I ate half and took the other half to go. Perfect lunch and dinner portion for me. Pricing wise, it's more than other chicken waffle dish out there, but it's worth the experience. I can't wait to go back again. Hopefully soon. -

My husband and I eat here at least twice a month so we've come to know the place pretty well.
Saturday's are mad busy - be prepared for a wait especially if you're party is bigger than 4. On the plus side if you love waffles it is worth the wait.
Dwight's special is the bomb - crispy chicken that's not greasy and a perfect waffle - it is large, so put on those runners and walk there :)
I'm also a big fan of The King- bacon, banana & peanut butter on a waffle - Reese's pieces fan give it a whirl.
We also love the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice - I always feel sorry for the poor fella working the juice machine in the back when we arrive ordering our large juices.
The girls who work the floor are lovely and I've never seen them in a bad mood, even when it is super busy. Plus the owners are friendly and genuinely want you to have a great experience.
A locally owned waffle house with great food and service. -

I originally didn't plan on coming here, but I"m super glad I glad!
My boyfriend and I were suppose to eat at some diner until we noticed "WAFFLE" across the street. We ran over and was immediately seated!
This restaurant is absolutely cute! It reminds me of a nursery display because of the lemon yellow and baby blue colors. Each wooden table had a tiny vase with one brightly colored flower in it.
Here's what we ordered:
Dwight's Chicken & Waffle - now the 2nd time I came here, I didnt know we get to pick dark or white meat! So I picked dark meat. I also didnt know that I was able to get all 4 sauces...first time I went I could only choose one. They were all good except the gravy which was just ok...it was kind of weird. But the wafle and fried chicken was amazing!!!
Say What!? Waffle Scramble - This was really yummy...it came with everything I love: bacon, grapes & goat cheese! YUM! Oh yeah and the scrambled eggs.
Orange Juice - Fresh! VERY YUMMY!
Banana Milk w/Honey - Didnt taste the honey...tastes like something I can make at home...nothing special about it...I dont recommend it. Plenty of other yummy things on the menu to order :]
I came back the 2nd time with friends and they all loved it! I hope to come again to try thier other waffle specialties! :D -

The wait was long for Sunday brunch which shouldn't surprise anyone except we had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes after we arrived. The service was friendly though and you could tell they were trying to accommodate everyone. Shared a deep fried churro waffle and the hot mama waffle with bacon jalapeno and fried egg and pico de gallo. Both came exactly as described on the menu. Churro waffle was perfectly crisp and not too sweet suprisingly (which allowed for copious amounts of maple syrup) and the cinnamon ice cream was delicious. The hot mama was actually hot thanks to all the jalapenos. I wouldn't say this place is doing anything too amazing but the food is well-prepared and tastes good and is pretty fairly priced. The lattes/cappuccinos are great too. Large, hot, and smooth espresso (Illy). Would go back if there wasn't a long line outside.

I hate to say this but I think roscoe's got competition...
I was super impressed. I would say, the place is small. Not really great for big parties. I think I counted 14 tables... maybe. But it's nice.
Well a friend brought me here to start of sunday funday. I ordered the "Dwight's Special and the Festive chicken (don't judge me! i'll explain).
I was a bit thrown off because it's not chicken and waffles like you would think. It's a filet of chicken. All white meat. breast. Over a Fat waffle. Served with gravy, ranch and syrup.
The chicken batter was wicked. Tasted like KFC with all its lil herbs and spices. The gravy gave it a different flavor... of course add hot sauce! It felt like I was eating a giant chicken strip.
The waffle was thick. A chubby lil fella waiting for each of its crevices to be filled with hot syrup. It was good. I can't say better than roscoes... but still good.
Now, I was so into this meal. I SCARFED it down. I literally was done and was like "i can do another!!"
So I ordered the festive chicken.
I screwed up...
See: that waffle settled and made a nice lil home in my tummy. And expanded. I realized I was almost full.
I ate part of the chicken, and the whole waffle. I wasn't too crazy about the mango and what not on the chicken. I saved it for later and ate it with some home made BBQ sauce I have. MMMMMMM!!!!!
I really can't wait to return... -

This place has a ton of good reviews, so maybe I'm just poor.
I feel like paying $2 for around an ounce of syrup is a little steep. I feel like paying almost $12 for a halfway decent waffle is a little too rich for my blood. And though Coca Cola in a can is definitely delicious and refreshing, it sure as shit isn't worth $2.75. That's just madness.
Do yourself a favor and act like a self-respecting Angeleno, and get your fucking waffles at Roscoe's. -

Fried chicken and waffle awesomeness. Fluffly, crispy, and light waffles went perfect with the crunchy fried chicken. Coffee and chai were spot on.lots of choices, more of a breakfast/brunch place than lunch I would say. fresh clean mellow vibe.
A little bit of a wait since it's popular but no big deal. -

Loved it! Three of us came with a dog and got outdoor seating almost immediately. (I almost felt bad because there were a lot of people in larger groups waiting..) Service was prompt and the waitress brought us some water for my dog, which was nice.
Most importantly, my waffle was delicious. I got the "king" waffle and it was very light and fluffy, with delicious toppings. They have some cool, unusual dishes.
However, my boyfriend's eggs benedict was borderline nasty. Not sure what happened there, but the sauce was just icky. Our friend got an omelet, which was good but not great. My waffle was the envy of the table. But in my humble opinion, if you go to a place with a specific dish in the name of the restaurant, you should probably stick with that! ;) -

First off let me say, go when you have some time to spare for a wait. There was a wait the WHOLE time we were there. Our wait lasted nearly 45 minutes.... that being said, I would have waited another fifteen (after tasting the food).
I wanted a breakfast waffle, but since I can order that anywhere (I prefer sweets over savory), I ordered the Waffle Sliders, burger sliders, not the breakfast sliders. The man got the Morning Chili and the kid got a mini chocolate with a side of fruit.
After a decent amount of time (we were warned that the burger sliders take about 10 minutes extra to make), the food arrived and we were all so happy. This was not my first stint with waffle mixed up with food, I have had Roscoe's plenty of times, but this was my first waffle burger. I even put the syrup lightly on it since it came with that as a condiment. Pretty delicious! The waffles are so light and fluffy, just how I like them. Waffles should NOT be crisp, that means they are over-cooked. This place has the cooking down pat for the perfect waffle.
I did find the fresh squeezed OJ to be a downer though. I am all for pulp. I love pulpy OJ but this was actually SO pulpy that I could not use my straw. I felt like i needed to drink it with my knife and fork.
The chocolate waffle was divine. I snuck a few bites in while the kiddo was not looking. I swear it was a cupcake in the shape of a waffle. The side of fruit was beautiful and there was not one piece of cheap melon trying to act as a filler. It had strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, apples, oranges and pineapple. All fresh and juicy.
My husband seemed to really like his dish since it was gone faster than I could cut myand chew my OJ. He was definitely surprised that he liked it, since it was I that asked him if we could go here. He really wasn't into driving there, waiting there or eating waffles.
They do have other meals that do not include waffles FYI but why go to a waffle place and not enjoy what they are known for?
Also, I don't know how someone could complain that there was not enough food! I had three sliders on my plate but after 1.5, I was full! I know I eat less than most Americans, but really if my husband was full (and he can eat like a true "American" can eat if he wants to). I say that if you don't feel full here then re-evaluate your plate and maybe eat slower and fill up on the cucumber water they have. Otherwise stop across the street at the Jack in the Box for a Jumbaco.
We will definitely be back and I will be recommending this place to friends. Such a fun little place! -

Such a cute place! My sisters took me here while I was in town, and the waffles were amazing. The best waffle was the Hot Mama waffle--with bacon and jalapenos dotted throughout. Crunchy, soft, fluffy, with a zing. The chicken was moist, delicious, with a nice coating. The orange juice was freshly squeezed, and pretty much wholly snorted up in the first sip. You start and don't stop sucking on the straw. I got a daily special dish, and the citrusy crunchy potatoes were amazing. garlicky, crusted, a smokey aioli delight in my mouth.
My sisters and I try to show up each other with awesome food joints in our respective LA -- SF towns, but this brunch place killed it.
Damn LA, you win this round. -

I lived 2 years in Northern France, Flemish country, waffles fresh and a plenty. I'm very picky when it come to waffles.
Waffles at Bru are twice the size of a european waffle. People finding the portions too small might need to re-evaluate their diet. I had the king and it was plenty enough for a sporty day. The waffles were light as air and delicious.
I found the waiters very sweet and kind even if very busy . And the choice of teas delighted me.
I will come back for sure. Thanks! -

This place has amazing fried chicken and waffles, and I wish I could say the sweet waffles are great too, but I didn't get a chance to try any because my wife backstabbed me.
We went in with a game plan: Easy E gets the fried chicken and waffles, my wife would get a sweet waffle, and I would get another savory one. The Hot Mama excited me: The thought of the fried egg lying on the waffle with melted cheese and pico de gallo salsa. I was gonna coat that waffle with delicious yolk and drizzle syrup on it. Yolk, egg, cheese, crunchy fresh salsa, sweet syrup and fluffy waffle in every bite.
When our server came, Easy E and I ordered as planned, but then my wife orders the chicken and waffles too! My jaw dropped with this betrayal, speechless I glared at her and she avoided eye contact. Finally she shrugs at me and says , "What? I wanted chicken."
The boneless fried chicken was amazing. Juicy, tender, flavorful crispy batter. It went perfectly with the soft fluffy waffle. I didn't even realize until later there was no butter because I didn't miss it at all.
It's a really bright, cheerful restaurant, and the service reflects this as well. So although I didn't get to try a sweet waffle because my wife foiled me, how could I be upset with such a delicious meal, and it is agreed we will return for more savory and next time sweet waffles. So, my wife altered my plans...or did she?
