Review from Arnold R.
Deerfield Beach, FL
My wife and I really enjoy Bru's room. We get a couple drinks, a small appetizer and an entree each and the bill is always super cheap. There are a ton of beer and food specials all the time. Great value for the money! The quality of the food has consistently improved over the years and we have never had a bad meal!

What can I say other than it's a sports bar with typical sports bar food having a typical sports bar flavoring about it that only goes good with beer. Although their ribs are fairly decent, all of the rest of the food is, well, sports bar food. To describe it in one word, "yuck."
I've never been able to figure out why all sports bar food seemingly tastes the same, is by nature rather unhealthy and doesn't go good with anything except typical American dish watery tasting beer and a group of nonathletic, obese appearing patrons who insist upon screaming top lung at a television telling the players which play to make next and how to play it. However, and though many may disagree, that's the way I see it.
The set up Bru's is rather nice, being a huge outdoor patio though with rather inattentive service, and huge, rather neat appearing indoor bar and another more subdued dinning area for those that may want a little piece and quiet.
As with any sports bar, there are plenty of flat screens offering a good view from most any seating angle.
Although a definitely not me type of place to be, it gathers a large loyal crowd which is a testament to its popularity as a sports bar; hence I can't really knock it, at least not too much so there in actuality I am rather inclined. -
Review from Tal T.
We were treated very disrespectfully today, by both our server and the "manager." I didn't catch his name but he was very overweight and wore a goatee. The server's name is Ana.
The restaurant had a problem with their credit card machine, but even when they discovered that, rather than apologize, the "manager" still accused three different people in our group of not having enough money on their credit/debit cards. Rather than tell the first person in a non-accusatory way, the server shouted out over our table of ten "[said the person's name] owes me $18, your credit card was declined." The solution finally offered by the manager? One of our party needed to go to the ATM ($3 surcharge) and draw out cash to pay the balance.
Bottom Line: The food is decent but I will never be back. Human beings deserve respect. -

I do enjoy that it is a Gator bar, but there was disgusting hair in my food and the service was horrible. They should have servers that can handle high volume business. Plus they didn't offer anything to make up for the gross hair in my food.

It's like a Ale House. It gets packed very quick!

Your typical sports bar hot wings, that really hit the spot. I wanted to try those fried pickles but didn't have enough room in my stomach to handle them.

Poor management. Bad service. Disgustingly dirty men's room. No excuse for that. Bathroom attendants are free and they keep the place clean. Stopped going there when the bartender repeatedly sneezed in her hand and wiped them on a bar towel without ever going near a sink. Never again. At least not that location

Awesome wings. Cheap drinks. 15 beers on tap. Haven't had anything bad yet. Good service.

I only tried the chicken wings, and while they were good, the only complaint I have is that the "hot" wings were not really that spicy.

I was here in November 2008 and liked it... was there with my friend, who is also from upstate ny but lives here now. The wings and sports motiv' aka experience is quite good. I was there again last night on this visit to florida. I dont get the whole volumne thing. Its sooooo loud there. Four of us sat outside at a highround and could not communicate.. either when the "band" was playing and also when they were on break. I understand inside is a bit more audible.
I had the pecan encrusted salad.. was pretty good but chix seemed burnt.. they said that is how it is always served. My friend had garlic wings and loooved them and my pal had pepperoni pizza.. it looked amazing. I would go again because it is easy and very close to where we stay in parkland. Prices are decent and beer selection is very good. They have also have a very very outside deck which can prove a nice escape while still being there. I teeter between 2 and 3 stars. -

I used to come here a lot to see Gator football. The last time I was here was in March to watch the Florida-BYU basketball game. Even though this is supposedly Gator Central, it took them 20 minutes to put the game on outside, 10 minutes to put the game sound on inside, plus we missed 5 minutes of the game because they accidentally turned the channel to PBS.
Also, the beer selection is crap (typical for South Florida: most places only have shit beer like Bud and Miller). Food is average at best.
Won't be coming here again. -
Review from Mariam D.
Not much to say about this one ... below average food, average service. Outdoor seating is nice for smokers, tvs make it a decent place for sports watching and beer chugging, but overall (and this is just my opinion) this is not my kind of crowd. Check out the Flanigans just East of US1 on Atlantic or head 5 minutes south on US1 to Smokey Bones ... mmmmmuch better!

typical bar food. you must try the fried pickles. they are unbelievable. If Snooki ever tried them, i don't think she would ever leave. it gets a little too crowded for college football but it can be a fun place to watch the games.
wings are great too -

Meeting place of the Gator Club of Broward County to watch all of the football games. It can get really crowded and a little rowdy during big games. They really need to upgrade their TVs. Chicken wings are pretty good and the whole fried pickles with spicy dipping sauce was an interesting change of pace. Outside bar seems to be a popular happy hour place for locals.

Above average food for a sports bar, and they have plenty of TV's so you can watch any game you want.

Broward County Gator Club place to watch the Gators play. average food, average service, average prices. Fun atmosphere away from the Swamp.

Service is just fair. Food quality has dropped off over the years. The more corporate mentality that they get, the more the product worsens. Many other sportsbars have surpassed them with quality of TV viewing and food/drink. Only reason I ever go is my moron friends want to meet there.

Game day fills the place up, but the staff seems polite enough. Beer prices seem good and the food let looks tasty.

Great wings and really tasty lettuce wraps. And excellent service! I went there for a gator game watch last weekend and I will definitely be going back for more game watches. My server was awesome and made the whole experience really great. The only kind of bad thing was the brownie in the brownie sundae was a little dry and it tasted a bit plain. It's also a little hard to hear the PA system if you are not in the main room. I still really liked this place and it's a great place to watch the gators!

Could be really good, but it's not... Food is average at best. Crowd is the same. Not to mention the second hand smoke, hope I live long enough to finish this post

If you like wings, this place is arguably the best place to get them in South Florida. If you are a Florida football fan, then this is the place to be for all non-televised football games. Great wings and bar food along with a great bar and friendly staff. The wings win awards on a regular basis. Many choices to choose from also.

Very lively place. Always seems to be people here. Food is pretty good. Drinks are cheap. The triple threat wings however are a must. Get them everytime I go here. Best place to watch a fight.

Great service, especially for football season and fights. Fried pickles and poppers a must so are the burgers and cowboy bites.

Well, being that I vacationed in "retired" Florida, this place was totally cool to drink some beers, sit outside, and watch some hockey playoffs. Did I eat? Nope, we were too busy drinking and watching sports.

The food is better than a kick in the mouth but only barely. A good place for darts and pool.
