I give this place 4 stars because of their amazing specials!!
On Monday's from 9p.m.- closing:
$1 game
$1 hot dog
$1 small drink
For two games and shoes, $5.99 can't beat that price.
Despite the fact that some people who go there act a little ignorant I still like this bowling alley. I just ignore them and go with my friends to have some beer, bowl, and kick some ass (in bowling that is) ;)
Overall, it is a pretty cool atmosphere and cheap specials that keeps me coming back! -

This is not a bad bowling alley if you go at the right time. Careful about league times, no open lanes on those days.I made that mistake once. Saturday nights OUT, I personally don't like the crowd that it attracts. Made me very uncomfortable went on a couple of different Saturday nights, and had the same result. Sunday afternoon not bad, went to a birthday party for one of my daughters friends. Had a better time there with a group of hyper 5 year olds. WHY? Because there were not many people there and the people that were there were friendly & polite.
Not the cleanest bowling alley I have been to, but it's a bowling alley, right? Staff is always nice and friendly. Would I visit it again, only a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon. For clean family fun I would suggest finding a new place. -

Most of the other reviews of this place have focused on the ambience. That's fine -- personally, I've found the staff to usually be friendly and the chicken fingers crispy.
My main beef with this place is the quality of the actual lanes. The folks that work here seem not to know how to properly wax them. For those not in the know, a bowling lane should be much more heavily waxed for the first two thirds, and less so on the last third. This allows a hooked ball to only come back towards the middle at the end.
At Brunswick, the lanes are uniformly waxed, which makes it so a hooked ball doesn't properly slide.
Serious bowlers, go elsewhere. I recommend Circle Lanes in Forest Park. The beer's cheaper there, too. -

Oh how I long for the days of Mages. Well, this USED to be a nice bowling alley. However my last experience here (Super Bowl Sunday) made me realize this place has really gone downhill.
First off, I felt like I was in Englewood as opposed to River Grove. It has really seen an increase in riff raff & incompetent employees who can't give you back correct change. I'm not talking a couple pennies either. I didn't get back a whole $5, & all I ordered was a damn pop. And no, they couldn't blame the crowd because I was the only one ordering at the time. My date also claimed she witnessed a middle aged woman in the restroom who had no pants on. Why she had no pants on? Well she didn't stay to find out, & rightfully so.
The one bright spot (besides not getting mugged in the parking lot) is we bowled for cheap since I had a coupon for .49 cent games. But it may just be worth it to drive a little farther & pay a little more.Listed in: Run a Chain On That Ho.

1st one to rate this alley?? Hmmmm, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!
I had a great time here. The people at the front desk were very nice. They even gave us a free voucher to come back for a bowling party, very schweeeet. The alley was clean, well taken care of. We had no issues with the ball return or the pin cage, so that was a nice change of pace. They were playing some great 80's music. A little bit more of an updated play list would have been nice, but no worries.
I also saw a little punk that was yelling at his mom. I wanted to kick his ass so bad, totally disrespect full. Then I had to remind myself that I was in River Grove, which has a slightly high white trash population. Acceptable? No. Understandable? Maybe.Listed in: Bowling Is Fun, Fun Is…

This bowling alley is usually super busy a good 80% of the time, even during the week. I would recommend you call ahead to see what the waiting times are before you decide to drive on over. The good thing is they have a huge parking lot, so I've never had an issue with parking here.
The atmosphere is loud and bustling at this place. It is kinda ghetto, but I've never had a problem with the people here. Be prepared to hear cheering, yelling, and some dancing from the lane next to you at times.
The lanes are decent, and the price was $9.98 for a 2 adult person game. There are also pool tables, a small arcade, and a place to get food/drinks.
The downsides are that the cosmic bowling's soundtrack isn't that great. The lights aren't that great, and they don't display videos on projectors over the lanes like they do at other bowling alleys. You may get stuck with a ball that's not ideal since this place is so busy and people hog the balls. The customer service is lacking a bit as well.
Overall, not a terrible place to come if you need to bowl in the area. -

I may never go back to Circle Bowl in Forest Park again. My score improved dramaticly from what I was getting at Circle. My first game was 138. I'm lucky to break a hundred at Circle. My friend hadn't bowled in 20 years and she got a 123. Even though the place was packed, it didn't seem loud. Other bowlers were very friendly and courteous. Maybe my game improved because I found a ball that fit my grip and was the correct weight (from a huge selection) and the lane was even! The ball went exactly where I aimed it. For just a few dollars more (on a Sunday afternoon), it was woth it.

I like this bowling alley as well. And they have quite a few specials which they'll tell you about if you ask. They also have a pro shop here where the guys are pretty helpful.

I have been a patron for several years now. This place is super packed in the winter and the wait times can be up to an hour. Fortunately, they have pool tables, food, a bar and TVs all over the place to make the time go by. The place eases up in the summers and usually there is no wait time. The bowling shoes are kinda gross, but most have been replaced with new ones, however, I bring my own shoes. I really enjoy Cosmic Bowling on the weekends. If you sign up on their website, you'll get awesome coupons, like $30 for 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental and a pitcher of pop. Do not pay full prices.

3years ago this was my hangout place. Now it just went to hell. I now feel I'm in the hood. Hey mama let me hit that? How about let me punch your face now what do you say? Eww girl I likes it rough. Your scumbag do you want me to tell your girl standing right there what you just told me? I walk away and leave this place. Wow did this place turn hood and gryme. I'll drive to Lucky Strike anyday. This place isn't worth it anymore new hangout. Gang fights were about to break out. And the workers don't know how to count.
