First of all, let's get one thing straight: I'm a bowler.

Brunswick Zone in Niles is a sweet little place. When you pull into the lot, the building looks vibrant and friendly. You are thinking, "this is the day I bowl a 300." When you walk in, it looks and feels like a bowling alley. Very clean, has an arcade room, has a pro shop for any of your bowling needs. The staff is friendly and considerate of their customers. My one knock is that one of the employees is emo and worries about his hair too much. So retarded. They have decent prices for the most part, and they PLAY MUSIC!! What a concept, I know...but most alleys only play music during their "rock-n-bowl" hours. This place actually has music pumping all day, A++ for that!

My one suggestion to anyone that likes to bowl on Saturday mornings: Make sure you get there before 11:00am, because there is a good chance you will be bowling next to some freaks.

It's Niles, IL...not Orange County, CA people. Some of these people are UGLY!

Not as clean and perty as Classic but eh, it's a bowling alley.

The last time we were here, we were meeting up a friend who lived in the area. It wasn't too crowded for a weekend but can I say it....? It was a bit ghetto. Reminded me of Waveland Bowl... Anywho, I have yet to have my own bowling ball (but I do have my own shoes, $4.00 for shoe rental? No, thank you!) so I had to search the place for a ten pound ball that I could fit my fat fingers into.

And there were none... NONE. The whole bowling alley had only 3 balls that were available because the people there are ball hoarders. I sure as hell wasn't going to use a 15 lb ball... The party next to us had 4 people but like 10 balls... 4 of which were the same freaking weight.  GRRRR. So I asked the lady at the desk if they had any balls in the back because there were a lot of ball hoarders and she just said "Everything is put out"... in which I replied "Find me a 10 lb ball then because I can't find any." She said "I can't but we have them and they're all out somewhere."

    No shit lady.

I just stole a few balls from the people next to us.

That pretty much ruined my mood for the night. Not to mention that Saturday night is Cosmic bowling, which is fine until the place is filled with stupid fog that smelled and the music blaring from a freaking speaker that was broken. You couldn't even hear the words, just the stupid rumbling of the bass.

That being said, they have an awesome patty melt and they have some really awesome coupons.... 20 bucks for 2 hours of bowling, free shoe rental, and pop? Sounds good.

I really like this Bowling Alley. Brunswick Niles is usually my first choice when I go bowling, not only because it is near me (because shockingly there are closer lanes) but also the quality of the place is respectable. It is clean and well ventilated. The staff is pretty nice and the lanes are not dingy like some bowling places I've been to over the years. In fact I took my family here when they were visiting form out of town and we all had a blast that night.

Pros: Parking, Location (if you live NW of Chicago).
    Cons: None
    Cost: $$ of 5
    Overall Rating: 4 of 5
    Recommendation: Recommended

I love when smoke-free places (as this claims to be, during certain daytime hours) allow choice patrons to smoke anyway.  It makes for a fun no-school outing with two asthmatic children.  Adding further fun to our bowling trip was the cranky guy working the counter.

On the plus side, they have open bowl during the day when there is no school, and they have programmable bumpers which made the 6 year old I babysit for a very happy boy.

Cute atmosphere, pool tables, tons of lanes and expensive drinks...The games/shoes and all that are too expensive for me. They seem to keep really clean which is comforting at least.

It's a great group place but because of that there's some lines too. If you're looking for a more deserted chill bowling alley I recommend elsewhere. Minus the cash you sink into it, it's a fun night out for a group. But I wouldn't go on a date here.

Ok so the only reason I come here is because of my job in which I look for cheap outings for kids.  Went here on a Thursday night, and they had $1 bowling and $2 shoe rental!  Don't forget your socks though or they will charge you $2.50/pair.  I know they have $1 bowling a few other nights of the week also, I believe Wed, Thurs, Fri.  They also have a large arcade if the kids aren't diggin the bowling.  The staff is somewhat grumpy, but who cares when you're only paying $1/game.

This bowling alley is great. There is a great entertainment room with plenty of games, plenty of lanes, and a clean atmosphere.  On Sundays after 6 pm they have $1 bowling and throughout the day on Sunday they have $1 beer specials and hot dogs.  Fun time and reasonable price!

I've been bowling here for about 10 years now, in leagues and just for fun.  I even got a job in the bowling store.  For leagues, its a tough scoring alley compared to many places in the city.....but the staff doesn't care about keeping it as clean as it should be.  They would rather cater to birthday partys, etc.  For open bowlers, they have reasonable prices and even some specials.  Its just another home away from home, but needs lots of improvements.

Judging this place purely on it's merit as a bowling alley , it's fine. It has a small arcade , a fast food window , and a decent amount of lanes. I don't really like this place because a) every time I went there it was ridiculously crowded , and b) their pricing , they charged me by the hour as opposed to by the game. I rarely bowl but my son likes to. So , if I recall correctly , I paid $25 for my son to bowl 2 games. If I had a couple of more people it would have been a better deal, but I didn't. Honestly , I don't think this place has any character , I prefer smaller , less crowded neighborhood alleys. I know a few people that like this place alot , so maybe it's just me.
