Review from Mike O.
We came here on a hot Sunday afternoon to redeem a gift pass my older son received for his birthday. It allowed up to 6 people to enjoy Cosmic Bowling. We brought along his 2 cousins to have 2 adults and 4 kids bowling.
Brunswick Zone is along the retail stretch along Rand Road, between the newly remodeled Wal-Mart and the Menard's. For a Sunday late afternoon, it seemed to be rather sparsely populated based ont he number of cars in the parking lot.
We came in and got ourselves signed up for a 2-hour game and were bowling in minutes. We got the shoes right at the counter, rather than go to wait in another line, like at other bowling alleys. And they didn't even ask to take our regular shoes in exchange for the bowling shoes.
The place has a bar area, a separate room with pool tables and arcade/amusement games, plus a snack & pizza place, Noble Roman's. We didn't go for the food except the popcorn which we shared among us all, plus 2 pitchers of Coke. From what I saw, the pizza didn't look bad, but if I want good pizza, I wouldn't go looking for it at a bowling alley. Besides that they had nachos, hot dogs and other fast food items associated with bowling.
Cosmic Bowling is fun. The balls glow in the blacklights, there's fog machines overhead (not obscuring your view) and flashing strobe lights overhead and behind you. The lanes are outlined in lights too. Be warned, Cosmic Bowling is not on all day long and it does cost more if you opt to come that time of day, unless of course you have a gift pass like we did. It would probably have cost our group about $50 otherwise.
With the gutter guards up, the kids played for a full 2 hours, though the younger ones lost interest after the first game. I think an hour is about all the 3-6 year olds can handle before they begin to run around and look for other things to do.
At one point, in the middle of our 2nd game, our ball and balls from the neighboring lane log-jammed in the ball return and the bowling stalled. The attendant got us back up and running rather quickly and we were able to finish our game even though it ran past the 2-hour mark, since we had that interruption.
Overall, a clean place with lots of fun stuff to do for kids and grownups. -

What do you mean you don't have the ingredients for an old fashioned?! It's a bowling alley! Are you kidding me!? You lose a star for that.

I love bowling, but one thing about this sport is that it can be pricey. I went with two friends to this place and for the three of us to bowl 3 games (plus shoes) it was $56. INSANE!

Although I'm not a huge fan of bowling, this place is pretty cool. With flashing lights and zany neon colors, this is an overall pretty good bowling alley.

I would have to say this is one fo the best bowling alleys. I find it to eb the best because its not so smokey (with all the cigarettes), clean, and safe! This is a great place to organize a party. Also, it is not too expensive to play a game here.
