7 reviews for Brunswick West Covina Lanes
In this day and age when bowling is being pushed as a hip activity by overpriced poser chains like Lucky Strike, we need to more than ever patronize our old mainstay local estabs. West Cov lanes is one of those no-nonsense old school places that refuses to polish its rough edges to reflect the vain images of the douche-bags it would soon regret attracting.
My incentive for patronizing this place way out in West Pilipino-town is price. Why pay $5+ per game in the valley or west side when most nights after nine West Cov lanes charges $1! Sunday mornings are another great special.
The drawbacks are inconsistent scoring; lanes which aren't very well greased; and some rowdy and annoying inland empire-type patrons. All said, these aspects also give WCL character and charm that are increasingly rare.

Prices are still good but oh man...the people working here are something else.
i.e. I go here quite a bit and there is a register where people line up to pay. Well I stand there to get a lane one night and the cashier is at the next register. All he has to do is say "I can help you down here" or something to that effect. what does this foolio say? "im over here" LOL
another blah....thing is that i've seen the most gutterballs pop out and hit the 10 pin than any other bowling alley.
I'll still come because of the prices and friends who bowl here...but thumbs down.

I've been here a few times. Parking seems to be pretty good. The bowling special prices are great.… Read more »
Before you read this, please note that I'm not a bowler. I'm not a bowling enthusiast, and as far as I'm concerned, bowling is a hobby, not a sport. (Seriously, if you can order food and sit down for 90% of the game, then it really isn't a sport. You get just as much exercise playing some hardcore Super Smash Brothers, but I'll just save this rant for another day...)
ANYWAY, back to the review!
for a casual bowler... no, wait. For ANYBODY who wants to bowl, this place really caters to you! I might still be high off the adrenaline of my last visit (dude, I bowled almost a 200!)* and I just might love this place because they seem to fill the week with daily specials that actually make bowling pretty affordable. Jason H already listed the prices, so I won't bother, but STILL! $1 for a round of bowling is pretty sweet- bowler or not! So far, this place gets an A+ for pricing.
It's also the biggest bowling alley I've ever seen. I've only been to like, 3 alleys, though, so I don't know if 50 lanes is really that big (but it looked pretty huge. Even when the whole place was full, we only had to wait about 20 minutes to get a lane. That's pretty convenient. Now we're giving it an A for convenience....
Here's the hard part. I mean, I don't expect bowling alleys to be extremely opulent, but this place looks like it hasn't been redecorated since the early 90's. The lane I was using broke down twice while I was playing, and the video arcade is lacking in the Street Fighter department. I mean, compared with the pricing, convenience, and overall fun, these are kinda minor qualms- especially from somebody with admittedly very little experience with this sort of thing, but still. It could be prettier.
Anyway, go have fun if you wanna bowl for a dollar!
*no, I lied, I bowled 150-something
A perfect place to visit if your just a weekend bowler like myself! I often go on sundays after church when it's $.99 a game! Yup that's right..$.99!!! This is great time to practice..at times you have to wait for a lane, but that comes with the territory when you think of the price. Unless you just wanna be seen and be in a club atmosphere and pay for over priced service and drinks at places like LUCKY STRIKE! Suggestion..come here early, get your name in the list, visit the bar and get a bucket of MGD's for $12, then the wait wouldn't seem so long!
So, I've been bowling at this house since I was 12 or so. I've always liked it here because I've met a lot of friends throughout the years and spent a lot of time with my cousin and my parents bowling.
The only rant I have is about management....it's been terrible the past year. If your lanes break down, the GM doesn't really care. He just waddles back into his office and brushes people off.

Hey it's f@#kin' bowling how can you go wrong? I've been coming to this place since I was a wee lad, a lil' carnalito! Now I'm alot older...alot older, and trust me it just gets better when you throw alcohol into the mix! West Covina were the grass is always greena!

I've been coming to this location for a few years now, used to be a regular every Monday for $0.99 bowling. I try to go a few times a month I just feel so comfortable here. The service staff, *music*, and people are way friendlier and enjoyable rather than at Covina Brunswick (I also hate their new technology animated screen, keep it old school, yo). A key point to announce is that when its closing time and you still got games to play they let you play till YOU'RE done. Dope, in my book!
