9 reviews for Brunswick Majestic Lanes
This place is hopping on a Saturday night! We got there around 7:45 and were told that we would have to wait until 9 to get a lane! Not having anything better to do, we hung out and hit up the little arcade. A pretty good sized one for a bowling alley. After a little Time Crisis II and Jurassic Park shooting, our name was announced at 8:30 which was perfect timing since we had just used all of our quarters!
Pretty spread out crowd - older couples in bowling leagues, little kids, teenagers, 50 year old tattooed men, and then us - a couple in our mid 20's just looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night.
The prices were a little up there - it came to about $30 for 2 games and shoe rentals - but we had a blast and can't wait to come on Monday nights when it's supposedly super cheap!
This place is ok. It's about the average bowling alley. Has some cool video games, reasonably priced food, and a lot of lanes. The midnight bowl is pretty tight.
This place is fun as a last resort for Friday and Saturday nights.
What really turns me off with this place are a few things.
1) The people that attend it are pretty much all teenagers - (the annoying kind). They're generally pretty rude when I go there with my friends and it's really irritating to have to always bowl around them.
2) The prices have skyrocketed. It's not fun anymore since you can't just go and spend 5 dollars for a game of bowling. If I remember right, I spent over $30 on 2 people last time I was there. Compared to other bowling alleys, that's disgusting.
3) The good thing about it? Dance Dance Revolution. That's about all that comes to mind.
As far as bowling alleys go on the north end of town (i.e. Lynnwood, Kenmore, Everett, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace) this place is tops! Lanes are pretty well maintained, the balls are decent and now that its smoke free you can actually breathe!
.99 cent bowling specials from 9am to 5pm keep this place a personal favorite during my current bout of unemployment. I'll bowl 4 games, rent shoes and have a soda for under $11.00!!!
Just so you know... I'm rolling a 189 these days! Ok, more like once I rolled a 189... the last 4 games were at 135 or better... but, I have proof of purchase on the 189 and a witness.
This bowling alley recently went through a major remodel, successfully pulling itself out of "dump" status and creating a shiny, comfortable, more enjoyable atmosphere.
However, remodels are expensive, and their prices reflect this. Bowling on weekends is .25 to .75 cents more than other surrounding alleys. Personally, I find that it is worth it. This place stands above the dingy environment of other nearby alleys. Since Washington banned indoor smoking not long after the remodel, this place also lacks that unpleasant "stale, lingering smoke" odor that other alleys seem to have.
They offer a variety of specials through the week (weekdays, mainly) to give you a chance to bowl inexpensively.
Every Monday, games are only $1 per person per game. My boyfriend and I, and a couple friends of ours, have made this our bi-Monday ritual. Included in the deal: $1 beers, $5 pitchers! Its cheap beer, but what are you gonna do?
The food is only okay. There isn't anything unique or special about it. It isn't horrible, but it doesn't leave you thinking "wow!" either. Their fries (our bowling alley snack food of choice) are bland and unfilling.
Overall, I'd recommend this as a good place to go bowling.
settee area not so good . open bowl cost too much
Overall, not a bad place at all. The black light has a nice effect at night. The glowing balls were quite the novelty for a novice bowler such as myself. I'm normally a bit averse to the site of hormone-charged high school kids, but all that were there were politely energetic.
Apparently there is "cosmic" bowling past midnight. I have no idea what that means, but I've got to say...I'm pretty curious.
Yay for bowling!
Though I'm a god-awful bowler, this is a pretty decent place to go. Plus they have an air hockey table...always a worthy addition.
Even though I usually get stuck bowling next to a bunch of Navy guys, I always have a good time. This bowling alley lacks that layer of grime and sleaze that most bowling alleys have, probably because of their remodel.
If you get on to their email list, you can get coupons for 89 cent bowling. 89 cent bowling? Are you kidding me? That means more money for important stuff, like beer!
Bowling balls along with sample dishes at the store are the two most commonly found places for fecal matter. Need I say more?
