Review from Lauren T.
I will give this hotel 2 stars for the room, and 4 stars for the atmosphere/experience.
I stayed there about a year ago with my boyfriend, my dad and his girlfriend while we were ghost-towning. (sidenote: nearby Oatman is rad! Go there and make friends with the donkeys)
The hotel itself is really cool, it feels like a big ol' haunted house. The hologram ghosty pictures on the stairway are a little over the top...but I still dug it.
My 2 major complains were: yes, you can hear the train...very loudly...all night....which sucks. Plus, there is no door between the bathroom and the bedroom....what the hell? Privacy is a nice thing....that you would expect to have. It wasn't just us either, my Dads room lacked the same essential feature.
However. During the night, my Dad and his lady heard the sound of a little kid laughing and running up and down the stairs. I also noticed that there was an old timey couch in the hallway with lots of dolls. The next morning they asked the staff to find that there were no kids there that night, they proceeded to tell us that other people had similarly complained in the past.
So maybe my Dad heard a ghost. Which is awesome. It is exactly the experience I am looking to have. While I would love to believe in ghosts, I have yet to personally see anything to support their existence. I'm still on the lookout though. -

LAZY ASSHOLE OWNER.
That pretty much sums it up. Every night's stay is SUPPOSED to come with a complimentary continental breakfast. When I stayed in this over made up dive-hole, I woke up looking VERY much forward to this alleged breakfast.
When I walked downstairs I not only discovered the place was as empty as it was when I got there the night before (arrived late and regretfully left payment on the counter before going to bed), but there was no breakfast in sight. Not even a friggin' box of saltines or something. It was supposed to be served by 9:00am, so I waited...and waited...I never saw a single soul in this crap hole during my entire stay! Nobody at the desk...or anywhere! What a JOKE.
I called the owner later that day and asked for any kind of refund at least for the promised breakfast that I was cheated of (never mind the other nasty details of the stay)...
The asshole had the audacity to say that he would not refund me anything because the maid apparently just happened to not show up that day (yeah, right)...citing:
"Well, that's the nature of business in Kingman, AZ."
OH IS IT? To swindle your customers and not even be there for them?
How about a big and hearty FUCK YOU!? You like that? Backatcha!
Judging by how others have rated you...it looks like this shit hole is rightfully going DOWN (or at least get new owners who have even a vague concept of "hospitality"...but that is probably too big of a word for the locals to even understand.
Never EVER again. AVOID.

This place flat-out sucks. I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me a million dollars. First, we checked in and it took about 10 minutes for anybody to acknowledge our existence. We noticed that there was a very loud bar band playing, but figured that they would stop before midnight. Wrong. They didn't stop until one in the morning, and we could feel the vibrations all the way up in our room, which was on the third floor. But the worst thing of all was that the hotel neglected to mention that it is situated RIGHT NEXT TO THE TRAIN TRACKS, and that every fifteen minutes, trains go by and blast their horns. My boyfriend and I left at four in the morning and checked into Motel 6.
Also, the man I spoke to over the phone was extremely rude when I brought up possibly refunding our room. He laughed in my face. It was unbelievable. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, YOU'RE BETTER OFF AT MOTEL 6! -

The Brunswick is a nice old historic hotel on the main street (and Rte 66) of Kingman. It has a restaurant and bar, but this review relates only to its hotel aspect. See my review for Hubb's Bistro for the hotel dining room.
The Brunswick hotel is family run, clean, nice and old shoe. All rooms upstairs, no elevator. As you would expect from a restored historic hotel, rooms are small but quite adequate, and with closets and baths. Some rooms come for as little as $30, but a romantic couple will want at least the Brunswick Suite at $85. One can haggle, depending on the hour and season; the lady behind the check-in desk is the co-owner.
Why not more stars? The hotel is situated right in the historic center of Kingman, which is an old Santa Fe RR town. And right across the street from the hotel is the railroad. All night long (and all day, too), every 7 minutes or so, a train full of containers from the Port of Los Angeles goes rumbling by. And because there is an at grade crossing right where the hotel is, by law the train engine has to toot its horn. Darn hard to sleep through that, all night long.
Too bad -- otherwise it would be one of my favorite historic hotels in Arizona.
